Not like a campaign that's gone this hard on civil rights would accept anything less than around quarter black attendance to match the state population.

Also, Segregation is still in effect so that many black people wouldn't be allowed.

Segregation was allowed not enforced. I mean in 1960 in North Carolina the Greensboro four were able to go into a restaurant and sit down at a whites only table and all the business could do was refuse to serve them, police showed but they couldn't remove them.

they did this for 5 and a half months and as protests grew eventually local businesses just decided to give up on refusing to serve black people. No laws had to be changed to make this happen because, against, this segregation in private space, in the case of north carolina, was not enforced by law, it was enforced by the fear of what might happen if one ignored it.

nothing stops the fraser campaign from ensuring that the audience is 25% black (probably from local universities because the Greensboro four were students) as long as the venue agrees to keep open.

I'm very specific with my choices.

Nothing stops Broussard's friends from showing up and causing a riot. This is exactly what will happen if too many African americans are there.

maybe, but not an undesirable outcome for Sofia either, particularly since she doesn't even personally like non-whites anyhow. nice opportunity for political grandstanding.

Isn't her third weakness that she's a lesbian or something? If so, what do you mean by its a colleague?

Unless Sharp objects before there is a second, in which case, the motion would die, causing the filibuster to last longer.

We are not using 21st Century rules, as well as this is not the beginning of the legislative session so your point of order is out of order.

the purpose is to change the filibuster rules by precedent by saying that legislation that enforces existing constitutional amendments only need a majority vote, and then if/when the chair rejects this, appeal the ruling. Then all you need is a majority to agree to the appeal, then the new precedent is set.

In theory you can use this to kill all fillibusters, but the argument here is very narrow and that doing this in this specific case is fine because this isn't normal legislation, it's legislation to enforce a constitutional amendment, that already got a super majority from a previous congress AND state ratification.

look up "Senate Votes to Change Filibuster Rules" and you'll fine the same move being pulled to get presidential nominations through the senate despite a filibuster.

Of course the other benefit of all this is getting Sharp to say that outloud and watch as democrats like ladhe are mute on the issue despite being "liberal".

Almost, Sharp wants to repeal the 13th Amendment, make africans either the property of white folks or "partially" white folks. He'd even be fine with an almost role reversal, if a black man wants to enslave a white man, then Sharp would be fine with that. Though , he would then call up his friends in the Nazi American Party to form a Cacucasian-American Rights Party that combines the legal prowess of the NAACP and the brain of Senator Sharp. The one thing Sharp would be "liberal" on is that he wants to put in place citizenship tests for blacks.

Yeah, Sharp can't seem to keep his mouth shut in public, so he'll suffer some flak in both the presidential and senate runs of his.
Sharp: "Slavery is good, let's bring that back."
Citizen: "What's next, bring back the Confederacy?"
Sharp, *hiding the confederate flag and declaration of secession for Mississippi*: "uhhh, no, this is a matter of the state's rights to deny human rights."
