Backstory: Born into a long forgotten Nomad Clan in 2056, Rey's clan would fall victim of often raids from Raffen Shiv and enemy clans alike, leading towards their downfall in Nevada. In 2062, the clan would move on to the Badlands, and eventually be folded into the Bakkers. By the time he was 18, both of Rey's parents would be killed in feuds and after multiple changes of leadership within the Bakkers, and the idea of joining the Snake Nation, Rey left to join the Aldecados, driving southeast until his wheels broke down, walking the rest of the way. The Aldecados were a clan that seemed to be stable and have it's shit togeather, enough to convince him to join them and to pull his weight.
The Aldecados accepted him, and he belonged. He helped smuggle goods across the border, and used his iron often, but when Saul uprooted and moved to the Badlands, Rey stayed behind. He would end up running caravans along the coast, earning a reputation for his dependability. Raffen nor sandstorm could keep him from traveling the deserts, however, with Saul's death in Night City, and the Aldecados left leaderless, Rey looked to the leader of his cell, and what was left. Needless to say, they didn't see eye to eye, and after an argument gone wrong, Rey ended up being thrown out of the clan, not before knocking some teeth out of a few different mouths. Once again he would leave his clan, but this time he went north.
His car broke down somewhere in Nevada, and he walked for weeks going north, until a Snake Nation caravan headed for Cascadia found him. An old buddy, Jake, from his original clan was driving, and allowed him to join the Caravan. Jake didn't stay in Cascadia long, leaving for Utah, but he had helped Rey get back on his feet and got him some minor work with the local small time fixers. With nothing but the clothes on his back, and the iron on his hip, Rey carved himself a place in Cascadia. He did jobs of all sorts, smuggling contraband, killing people who needed killing, dealing drugs, and protecting clients or stash houses. Once again he would earn a reputation, albeit minor, of someone who could get the job done.
Although he left his clan, he refuses to give up on them. Unlike his original clan, or the Bakkers, the Aldecados stood for something, and didn't crumble under pressure. He aims to return one day, with the eddies and reputation to back him up, to steer his clan the right direction. Using his experience gained from riding with the clan and riding solo, he believes he can do good for the Aldecados, but he's one young voice against the voices of 10,000. So Rey carries on, building his reputation and his bank account, looking for something big so he can prove himself and return to his clan not as a young kid with an iron, but a leader.
