so a Japanese helicopter flew into Korean waters, the Koreans thought it was a sign of hostility so they opened fire, and now Japan and Korea are fighting for control over some island. that's my best summary, I don't 100% understand what's happening

Russia has only sent three destroyers and two corvettes to the conflict (they are still far away from the Liancourt Rocks).

Also a detailed summary:

Japan wanted to drill in Dokdo, which they say are theirs but much of the rest of the world says is Koreas. Also it is Korean administered and controlled, though there is only one permanent resident (IRL). Japan sent a survey team consisting of a suspicious amount of coast guard. Then when they neared the Korean waters they launched armed military helicopters, which scared the Koreans. The Koreans told them to take down the helicopters and they could survey but the Japanese ignored them. The Koreans repeatedly warned them that the helicopters would be arrested if they came into Korean waters, and loaded SAMs to prove it. The Japanese resisted, and the Koreans arrested the helicopters, but it resisted arrest and continued on. Feeling threatened, the Koreans launched SAMs at the helicopters. The coast guard opened fire on the Koreans with a load of missiles and the Koreans opened fire back.

We (Korea BTW) are saying that the Japanese came with the intent of waging war. Which is why they infiltrated our waters and sent armed helicopters. Germany is trying to help us protect ourselves and Russia is going to fight them but we are not helping Japan against Russia. Nobody else has responded besides "please stop fighting"
