@RoughriderGovernor
The government should sell far-left unreliable "news" outlets like NPR and PBS to companies that actually report the news like OAN! Every penny should also be invested back into the American people in the form of a stimulus check!

"You're puttin' the cart before the horse," he said, grinding his teeth. "As I said, this is our vision, not the specifics. First of all, there is no recession yet. Second of all, the government will not be directly paying many of the people we employ. We'll be working hand-in-hand with the private sector to employ Carolinians while keeping our businesses afloat. Trust me, my plan is approved by very smart economists."

"I have my doubts, Governor. 14.24 billion dollars, is the debt of our state last year. There are millions in unpaid state retirement benefits, as was said earlier. So if you can't pay retirees, how do you expect to pay the millions of workers who may be laid off, as well as those who the Government plans on hiring? Wouldn't this mean an increase in Taxes?"

Bucknell decided he would wrap up the questioning before his temple ruptured.

"There will be no tax hikes. Millions of workers is a huge exaggeration," he started, "and as I've already said the government will be directly paying very few of them. We will be getting most jobs in the private sector. The state debt is well under control, as I've said, and today our focus is on helping Americans right now to prevent a crisis."

Wesley swiveled to face the room at large. "Thank you, that will be all. God bless South Carolina." He stumped out of the room, ignoring any last-minute queries that were called after him.

Chip Renfus
March 20 - March 21, and March 23
Suburban Areas around Atlanta, Georgia

Chip would spend Friday attending several Veterans for Richardson events as the campaign prepared for the State's upcoming primary. He portrayed Richardson as a common scene candidate who was finally going to get the VA in working order for Vets. When asked by one potential voter why he supports someone like Richardson over say, an actual Veteran such as Porter, Chip responded with the following, "Look, at the end of the day, Richardson has been supporting Veterans like us when he was a Congressman and when he was a Governor. Meanwhile, with Porter... he may be one of us, but he doesn't have a track record of helping out the rest of us... well, what I mean is that it's never even been his job to take care of Vets. And even then, he hasn't had the same experience most of us have had. While we've been waitin' at the VA to get our benefits and healthcare, he's been havin' a direct ear to the President, and I doubt he's been usin' it to help the rest of us out."

Saturday was more of the same, although there was more of a focus on canvassing with Surbanites, making sure to give off that good ol' Southern Charm that almost always came with a handful of flirtatious comments directed at any good looking Southern gal' who Chip happened to come across. Chip would head back home to Mississippi on Sunday to deal with some constituent work, as well as for a "side project" that some had been advising him to take for a while now. He would head back to Atlanta on Monday to do more canvassing for the Richardson campaign both with the Southern Ladies and the Vets.

Eliza LeBlanc Wolf
March 18 - March 20
Atlanta and surround Suburban Areas, Georgia

Eliza spent the days from Wednesday to Friday down in Georgia canvassing, making sure she only hit up Republican neighborhoods because the last thing she wanted to deal with while down here was angry Democratic voters. She would stress two things while meeting various suburbanites. The first thing was Richardson's economic message. With every passing day making it look more and more likely the Democratic Party would nominate a Socialist in the form of Levi Murphy, it became clearer and clearer that Richardson was the right man with the right economic plan to not only win the election but to make America prosper again. The second thing that she was perfectly willing, if not forceful in mentioning, that her Husband, wasn't a fan of Porter at this point in the race. She left out the part that Porter's recent attack on Lilyana is what turned her Husband off from him, as she wanted to present it as something present in her Husband for longer than a week.

Governor, I've seen your recent tweet. I like that stance, and will push for the federal government to copy it. However, I'm also interested in your endorsement for President. I'll be willing to help clear your path to the Senate - or perhaps even grant you a cabinet spot, in exchange for an endorsement. There's also a lesser reward for staying out of the race, if you would not like to endorse me.

Azekopolaltion wrote:"I understand that, Senator. But we're already on the brink of recession, it's coming. If people need immediate aid, only sending money to states is probably one of the less efficient ways to immediately get more cash in people's hands. I agree with you, we probably aren't going to hammer out a deal including big new federal programs, as needed as some might be. But something as simple as a guaranteed additional $600 per week to every unemployed person? To me it seems fairly obvious that would be an easier, more direct way of providing immediate aid."

"There's really no logistical impediment to us enhancing unemployment insurance and the relevant protections, and that kind of individual aid is central to the broader economic recovery. Yes, we'll work on bailouts. Yes, we'll finance this hole in the Social Security Trust Fund through debt. But without robust individual aid, both in the form of UI and direct stimulus, then we're going to have a spike in poverty which will have long term consequences, and we'll create political rifts on both sides of the aisle that will make any further federal response more tortured and difficult to negotiate." Caroline interjected, on the side of Senator Westra. "The danger is not doing too much, but doing too little, and we would rather have a comprehensive package that isn't entirely efficient than an efficient package that isn't comprehensive."

To: Nate Richardson
From: Tristain Dikes
Dear Mr. Richardson, I would be much obliged to meet you, and although I do not know the reason why I will still be more than happy to make an appoimnetent with you.

Tristian travels by car to Richardson's HQ in georgria. Tirstian wondered in his head why Porter's Oppenenet wanted to meet with him... was it a bribe, an offer, something to change his mind? Tirstain only dreamed and thought of what could happen.

Direct stimulus payments are making rounds, and from the right. I'm thinking of calling their bluff on that one. What do you think?"

“Well, at the moment it isn’t anything major. However, I’d like to develop a bipartisan response between the Governor’s Mansion and the Kansas Legislature that will mitigate any impact that the economic crisis might have on our state, as well as any potential policies and legislation that could be developed at a federal level that will support us in doing so.” Jennifer said before taking a sip of water.

Kim grunted, shuffling her papers. "I still know people in the state Senate, I can do some arm-twisting if need be. Some of them are probably still scared of me. Unfortunately, on the Federal level, members of the GOP Senate caucus have been asked to refrain from introducing or cosponsoring any legislation without explicit approval from Warrick, Frankston, or Volker. She nodded to Tim, then leaning to Volek, making sure to whisper. "Of course, we could always balance the rebels out with enough Republican votes, if necessary. Wouldn't be good for party unity, though, if we ally ourselves more with Colbert and Merriam than Murphy."

"I have no intention of loading our bill with Richardsonian healthcare fallacies, Tim, rest assured. I'd say we put the more progressive option, the more aggressive option, in our House bill and get that passed, and we'll negotiate back from that position if and when we need to. I have no intention of sacrificing party unity." She scratched her chin. "So, we've tapped on oil, we've tapped on the stuff in your early proposals, we've given a nod to Atang's eviction moratorium... UI expansion I'm very keen on, I'm grateful for that. Direct stimulus payments are making rounds, and from the right. I'm thinking of calling their bluff on that one. What do you think?"

"I say we call their bluff," Commented Kathleen, "I'm sure they'll find something else in the bill they don't like if they're not willing to vote for stimulus checks, but it's not like stimulus checks would be a bad thing to add into a bill anyways."

It was Speaker's presser time again, and there's no statements this time, so straight to the questions.

"We've got some of our keenest minds in both the Senate and House Caucuses working on a comprehensive rescue plan that targets both structural and individual elements of the economic situation, to both prevent further slowdown and to ensure that any rise in poverty can be halted in its tracks. Individual aid, which has bipartisan support, will be included in the rescue plan, as will aid to ensure that businesses remain solvent and that key sectors do not fall into dereliction." She answered the first part of the question, before continuing. "We've engaged in fruitful discussions with both the President and the Majority Leader. In particular, I welcome the Majority Leader's acknowledgement that fiscal conservatism isn't going to meet the challenge. Democrats intend to continue with honing and putting forward our plan to insulate the United States against another economic crisis, and we hope that the GOP will be on board with us by the time anything comes to a vote."
