After seeing Linda Lazare's tweet, Clay scowled. Leave revenge to the Lord, it was said; but he wasn't sure he wanted to wait that long. He dialed his campaign manager.

"Tim, I want Linda Lazare unseated. Get in touch with her opponent, help out however we can. Xanax-addicted biddies like her don't belong in Congress, not in Texas."
Dentali wrote:"Just make sure you don't go rogue on us when it comes to potential relief efforts, if you agree to that then we shouldn't have any problems."
Clay was silent for a few seconds, considering.

"I'm sure that I'll approve of whatever solution the caucus puts forward," he said carefully.

"I figure you're getting a count for your bill. My answer will be the same as Tom Volker's, so ask him." Before she could respond, he terminated the call.

Linda smiled as she put her phone into her purse, "What could I expect? The only congressmen who hang up, are the ones 'fraternizing' with their secretaries, Christian my ass." Linda stood and walked over to her mini-fridge, took out a can of beer and a cup of ice cream, and sat down as she began to look at her lists again, "Oh screw it, we'll just have to get it through on a prayer." she said as she stood and threw the lists in the garbage.

Though Linda smiled her way through it, she still decided to write a letter to be delivered to the Congressman's Office,

Dearest Crawford Clay,

It upset me when you hung the phone up without even hearing what I was calling about, there are many things that I could've been calling about and it seemed pretty rude of you to simply hang up. I haven't got any type of 'beef' with you as the young fellows and fellowettes love to say. I have done nothing to you besides defend a fellow who I support. If that is the reason you hung up the phone then you ought to be ashamed of yourself. You've only been in Congress one year, so I assume you aren't aware of Congressional Norms, one of which being, you work with your colleagues, especially when you are from the same state. I don't know why it is you hung up, but I do hope you can call back at your earliest convenience to smooth things over. I haven't any hard feelings, I'd just like to get down to the bottom of this. :)

Sincerely,

Dear Linda,

I apologize if you feel snubbed. However, I would remind you that I am in the midst of my senatorial campaign, and that our nation is on the precipice of a pecuniary crisis— not the best time for small talk.

If there is an urgent issue you need to discuss, you are welcome to book an appointment with my secretary. Otherwise, I cannot say when I will have the time for a non-essential chat, though I hope it is soon.

Dear Mr. Clay,

It isn't that I feel snubbed, I simply feel disrespected. Back when I was out on the campaign, you weren't rude or brash to me. I distinctly remember calling to apologize to you, simply because I may have insinuated that you were a liar which, at the time, was untrue. Currently, you have been in various states for Bernard Porter, traveling around Texas claiming various things about me that are untrue. I am not in the mood for any of these games you are trying to play, I am interested in helping the people of Texas, as should you. I sincerely suggest you call me back. Contrary to your obvious beliefs, you are not in any way, above me. You are a Senate Candidate, who has one year in Congress compared to my 20 in public service.

I would also like to advise you, that I will not be reaching out to your secretary should you continue this rude, snobbish, behavior, I instead will be reaching out to Congressman Volker, a man whom I deeply respect, to inform him of the obvious partisanship that you currently have. Thomas Volker is a very kind man, as are you, and I think it incredibly strange for you to be treating me in such a way. I sincerely mean no disrespect, I am simply requesting the same amount of kindness, dignity, and respect, that you would give your colleague Congressman Parks for instance, because no matter how much you hate me, how distasteful you think I am, or how evil you think I am, we are colleagues fighting to help our country, and when you 'snub' me, it shows that you are not fighting for this country, you are fighting for yourself.

Now is not the time for half measures.

As an increasing number of Americans are losing their jobs, healthcare and are at risk of evictions we need to implement strong, long-lasting measures to prevent tragedy. We need Medicare For All, we need a moratorium on evictions and we need a federal jobs guarantee.

It is becoming increasingly obvious to me, that people on both sides of the aisle, Republicans and Democrats, are making this Economic Crisis a Partisan issue. It is a Bipartisan issue, that can only be fixed using Bipartisan solutions.

Dear Linda,

You need to learn to separate your personal feelings from congressional business. Any remarks I made about you were in reference to your political positions; do not pretend you haven't disparaged me. I have not personally donated to any PACs with the explicit purpose of unseating you, and I would like to see evidence to the contrary. You are being paranoid, Linda. I have also offered you the opportunity to schedule a meeting with me, which you have brushed off.

Condolences are in order for your father, but his unfortunate passing does not justify this breach of decorum on your part. I invite you to discuss this with Congressman Volker, who will surely say the same. If you return with a clearer head, I am more than willing to look past this. For the moment, however, I think it's best you have some breathing space.

I'll be out in Bellaire on March 21st for a town hall event. To discuss the current economic crisis, my campaign, and any other issues that voters may have! I encourage anyone and everyone to attend, learn a little more about me, and come together and work on solutions for the problems of Texans! There will also be a stand, to purchase T-Shirts, Snacks, and other goodies, the funds of which will be donated directly to the American Stroke Association, in memory of my father.

You have spouted off nonsense to your supporters about me, calling me a Coastal Elite, telling them I wasn't right for Texas, there is evidence of you donating to a PAC designed to oust me from my seat, you continuously have ignored my requests for a meeting which I think would be greatly beneficial, you continue to 'snub' me, you had no reason to believe the phone call would've been longer than 5 minutes at the most.

I am not going over your head, I have reached out to you, you have pushed me back, so I will simply go to someone who has some type of authority over you. Frankly, your advice comes at far too late of a time, my fathers passing was a few days ago, if I ever needed advice from you or anyone, that would have been the time. I would rather settle this between us, but if you continue to deny me the opportunity to bring forth my complaints to you directly, I will simply have to 'go over your one-year-old congressional head'.

From,

Representative Linda Lazare,
Texas' 7th Congressional District

Sincerely,

Crawford Clay
Representative, Texas' Fourth Congressional District

Clay,

There is evidence of your campaign donating to the Armadillo PAC. On their page, it says very clearly, that you have donated to them and their candidate. Are you prepared to denounce these ads? No. If you are, then go ahead, do it. I reached out to you for a purpose, and from the amount of time that this email conversation has taken, we could've discussed my topic more than once. You've wasted your own time, that is so precious to you.

I can separate personal feelings, and congressional feelings, but can you say the same? You didn't ignore my phone call because of Congressional feelings because that would be partisan of you right? You didn't ignore my phone call because of personal feelings because that would make you like me right? So why did you ignore my call? You aren't discussing anything with Volker, Warrick, or anyone of the sort because you are responding to me. You aren't figuring out a plan, because you are still responding. You obviously can't be campaigning because you are literally down the hallway from me.

This is the last correspondence I wish to have with you over email.

Guess who,

Linda Lazare
Representative, Texas' 7th Congressional District

Unfortunately (or, Russell privately thought, fortunately) for Levi, nothing in a campaign stays secret for long. Walls have ears, volunteers gossip, and word of the Senator's plans reached Long's ears. With a heavy sigh, he excused himself to his office and called the big man himself.

Immediate cash relief to those in pain, workers and small businesses, is a must. Equally necessary is emergency health insurance provided through Medicare. The BRIEF Plan includes these common-sense actions and more to contain the coming downturn before it forces more families into destitution. Let's get it done. #BRIEFPlan

This recession has led to extreme circumstances. An eviction ban needs to be in place RIGHT NOW. NO IFS AND NO BUTS.
