@DrWashington

When Bernie Porter allowed Neo-Nazis to fly their flags at his rally, he showed us the kind of man he was. He didn't trick anyone as some politicians would like us to believe.

And on the first day of the Republican National Convention, a former supporter of Porter goes out and uses his speaking slot to call the first Jewish Presidental nominee and her party, Neo-Nazis. He's not only showing us the kind of man he, but the kind of man and politics his party and its leadership will support.

[Supercut of Don Pauer calling Dayton a Nazi at the RNC]

This isn't a online conspiracy theorist, this is the right-wing's favorite radio host, this is the RNC, this is the Republican Party #VoteDayton

@HoosierFighter I have presented multiple plans for getting us out of this crisis, involving paycheck protection, direct checks to working families, investing in our industry and small businesses, made in America Tax Credits, and expanding Opportunity Zones, among other things. Senator Dayton has not proposed any plan for getting us out of the economic crisis we are in. I would be happy to meet with you to discuss measures we can take moving forward to protect the American people and get us out of the crisis.

Everson Boyd
@HoosierFighter

I would be very happy to discuss this further as well.

He then sent a message to Richardson via DMs.

My general vision for this would be something like a public town hall - we have audience members ask questions, and then we answer them. We could discuss the economic situation more directly with this, and take questions from the public. Or perhaps a hybrid - we could do a simple closed, free-floor discussion then take questions in the second half. What do you think?

The intention was a closed door meeting so we could speak frankly.

I'm not sure what you think we could achieve with that. You're the most fiscally conservative of the Republican field, excluding Paulson, and I think you're very well aware of my economic stances. If I tried to broker any sort of economic aid with you it would both be myopic - as we are unlikely to agree to anything not already agreed upon - and merely an opportunity to allow you to grandstand and come off as presidential while you can say how bipartisan and serious you are about helping the American people.

I'm not running for President, Governor, I have no incentive to play games. I think it'd be better to talk openly and, indeed, frankly, about what could actually fix this calamity.

I can free up a few hours for a meeting. If you wish it to be public so be it, just let me know when and where.

Nate Richardson
@GovernorRichardson

I find the comparisons made by Mr Pauer unacceptable and totally inappropriate. If I had been given to opportunity to review the speech beforehand I would have strongly objected to its content and language.

Nate Richardson
@GovernorRichardson

I hope the same Democrats who attacked Mr Pauer also hold accountable Congressman Boyd for praising the nations of North Korea and China for their treatment of prisoners. North Korea which murdered American prisoners such as Otto Frederick Warmbier and China which is not only responsible for the greatest economic crisis in a hundred years, but is actively exterminating the Uyghur people.

Where did I ever praise them?

[insert clip of "And you know, that’s not even the worst part of all of this. In this country, you are more likely to be imprisoned than in North Korea. Keep in mind there I did not say we had more people locked up, I said that we have more people locked up, per hundred thousand, than North Korea. Let us also remember that the United States, the land of the free, has the most prisoners of any country in the world, even more so than the ‘People’s’ Republic of China, despite it having 4 times the population."]

Find the praise. I specifically mentioned China and North Korea because they are examples of what we know, and all agree, is bad. I oppose the treatment of the Uyghur people by China, and fully acknowledge the reality of the concentration camps there, along with those in North Korea.

Alot of talk about the RNC, meanwhile the Dems start their convention off with a speech where they pretend the horrors of slavery are anywhere near to criminals serving out their time in prison.

Curious how Senator Colbert mentions the opioid crisis when Purdue Pharmaceuticals, one of the companies most implicated in it, donated four times as much to the Republicans in the 2018 cycle than to the Democrats.

“Feel free to criticize people who took money from those crooks. But I have never taken a single penny from Purdue Pharmaceuticals. I have never taken money from out of state and out of touch businesses. I work for the people of Utah. And the opioid crisis is hurting so many Utahans. I urge Governor Abernathy to tell his attorney general to find the people pushing opioids and get them.”

Theodore Vohoffsky announces resignation; endorses staffer Daniel Staalman.

Congressman Theodore Vohoffsky has announced his sudden and unexpected resignation, and in his statement said that 'I believe the best way I can help fight for conservative ideals is outside of Congress', referencing his recent taking of a post at the Chamber of Commerce as National Political Director, likely brought on to stabilise the drift between Chamber leadership and that of its GOP donors.

The state government is expected to schedule the special election shortly, with the former Congressman having endorsed one of his staffers, Daniel Staalman, for the position.

Rural Maine

4:38 PM

"Miss...wake up..."

"Diane...wake up..."

The Congresswoman squinted her tired eyes, and darted them around the scenery. Her thoughts were foggy as she struggled to regain her sense of time or place.

She stifled out a weak "wha...?" before the voice waking her up responded.

"Representative Paulson...are you okay? You fell asleep and I didn't want to disturb you."

As her senses recovered, Diane began to realize just what happened. The exhausted woman raised her voice in response.

"And exactly why on Earth would you do that?!"

Diane's bodyguard Charlie waltzed his heavy frame into her field of vision.

"You've been working day and night on whatever you're in your office all the time for. I thought you needed a break."

Diane, realizing that this hired gun might be more brawn than brains, decided to give him a piece of her mind.

"Don't let that happen again...what if somebody walked by and snapped a picture of me sleeping here..."

She paused, and looked around. She still wasn't quite sure where she was at. There was a park bench. It was all coming back to her now. She took a walk after lunch, and sat on the park bench to watch the sailboats on the coast. The hours and hours of researching constitutional law and trying to find ways to craft new legislation the night before must have got to her, as somehow, some way, she fell asleep on that bench.

"How long was I out?" she asked.

"35 minutes," replied Charlie.

"Again, don't ever let that happen again."

She took out her cell phone, and sent a quick text to one of her staffers.
