I don't know Marlon Ward, I don't know his lifestyle, and I sure as hell ain't no policeman. I'll say this, Marlon Ward seemed like he was under the influence, he seemed like a bull in a china shop. All that aside, he didn't deserve to die. I don't think this was an act of racism, just by looking at the video. I think due process, and an investigation needs to go down. The Woke Liberals won't wait for that though, I predict the streets will be burning by midnight next Tuesday, and hundreds more folk get killed.

Hypolite Gaspard wants to put the body of Marlon Ward on trial before he's even cold as a distraction from the fact that two rogue officers violated the trust of their communities, and committed a killing, a killing without justification. This is the poisonous discourse that plays out after every one of these killings, and it needs to stop. We need to hold police officers to a higher standard, not try to smear the dead.

Statement from President Richard George Tawney on The Death of Marlon Ward

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The White House is closely monitoring the events surrounding the death of Marlon Ward in Wichita, Kansas.

President Tawney is closely monitoring the events surrounding the death of 35-year-old Marlon Ward in Wichita, Kansas. The White House is deeply concerned about loss of life in police custody and wishes to express its support for a fair and thorough investigation of the cause of death of the Wichita resident.

Our constitution guarantees the right to assembly and the President notes a major increase in demonstrations across the country. The amount of frustration present in many communities across the country, especially in relation to such a contentious issue as police brutality, is likely to manifest itself through various forms of civic engagement. It is not my place as the chief executive of the federal government to deny anyone the right to protest, however no statement regarding such protests would be complete without a call for peace. Many events concerning suspected police misconduct have sadly taken a violent turn, with peaceful protests and gatherings falling victim to groups with riotous, violent intent.

Physical force should not be applied in any capacity while protesting and unfortunate deaths do not justify spreading distrust towards law enforcement and officers across this country. As a veteran President Tawney understands the strong need to serve our country and our communities and recognizes the overwhelming majority of members of police departments from all across the country as dedicated public servants who seek to make their families and neighbors as safe as possible.

The White House formally calls for a thorough investigation into the circumstances that led to the death of Marlon Ward and urges restraint in ascribing guilt to the parties involved in the incident.

Serving as a police officer is a great act of civic duty and an incredible privilege, and as Attorney General of New Hampshire, I was proud to preside over a period of time when New Hampshire was the safest state in the Union, working with law enforcement officers, both federal and state, for the public good. That requires a high level of ethics, and a responsible approach to the use of force. I am not convinced this has happened in Wichita.

Image
Senator Augusta Merriam
@NHSenatorMerriam

The death of Marlon Ward was a preventable tragedy, and I hope that the city of Wichita and the state of Kansas undertake a rigorous, full-bodied investigation into the matter. This is not just for the benefit of the communities hurt by this incident, but for police services who rely upon the public trust in order to safely and ably discharge their duties. I pray for peace in our communities and in our nation as we wait for the results of those investigations.

The statements from Hypolite Gaspard on this matter are shocking and disgraceful, and I would be uncomfortable to serve alongside him as a Republican Senator. I am sure that the responsible and hardworking people of Louisiana will make a more sound choice.

Police Reform has been needed for years, maybe Mr. Ward won't die in vain, maybe his death will cause change. I think protests are needed in this situation. We need to get out and let our voices be heard, while Marlon Ward may simply be just a 'criminal' or a 'crackhead' to some, he is still a father, a boyfriend, and another human being. We need a proper investigation into the matter, immediately.

The facts are clear - the GOP is a big government, pro-murder party. Their alleged dedication to preventing government overreach is nothing but an illusion, a lie sold to ordinary, hard-working Americans who are concerned about their liberties, personal and economic, to gain their votes. Republicans are literally okay with you getting killed. The time to look for alternatives is now. And a choice of a candidate is clear. #Patrick2020

From the bottom of my heart, I'd like to sincerely apologize to those who I may have offended. It was an honest case of misspeaking. I didn't mean that if you commit crimes you deserve to die, I meant that folks shouldn't commit crimes period. I'm not a racist, never have been. I support the people, the common people, against the 1%, against the big government. Louisianans are smart people, Louisianans have common sense. Louisianans know they can trust me to serve on the United States Senate, without prejudice, and without hatred in my heart.

I'm a Vietnam Era Veteran, I'm a husband, a father, a grandfather, a member of the cajun navy, and a defender of Louisiana against coastal elites. I want Louisianans to know that y'all make the decisions, not the people from New York. You do. I will represent YOU, I will not represent the people of New York. The Radical Leftists already throwing gasoline on the streets of Kansas, do not dictate what Louisiana's future holds. We do. Elect me as your Senator, I won't fail you.

I believe the Officer murdered Mr. Marlon. I believe the cops that stood there and watched him do it and didn’t intervene are also culpable, but hating cops just because they are cops is as bad as racially profiling. I believe that legal, peaceful demonstrations are as American as baseball, and I trust that Louisianans don't join the anarchy that is inevitable after this situation.

Statement On Changes In The Position Of Attorney General

WASHINGTON, D.C. - President Tawney has dismissed Michael Jones from the position of Attorney General and expresses his intention to appoint Arthur Bragg of Wisconsin as the next Attorney General.

President Tawney has decided to dismiss Michael Jones from the position of Attorney General. The recent conduct of Mr. Jones does not reflect the values, moral standards and leadership the Tawney administration is seeking to uphold, particularly in light of recent events.

In order to ensure the continuity of operations at the Justice Department, President Tawney has decided to name a successor to Mr. Jones in the person of Senator Arthur Bragg of Wisconsin. Mr. Bragg, an accomplished lawyer, a former private attorney and JAG Corpsman is a dedicated public servant with a long track record of bipartisanship and impartiality. There are very few people who can match Mr. Bragg's list of achievements.

President Tawney is honored to be able to nominate such an accomplished individual and strongly believes Sen. Bragg will execute his duties as The Chief Legal Officer of the Federal Government in a fair and thorough manner. The White House urges the Senate to take up the nomination of Arthur Bragg in a timely manner.

Michael Jones' focus on the War On Drugs, his lenience on Republican officials accused of wide-spread misconduct and his highly partisan and inflammatory behavior were far below the position of Attorney General. He shouldn't have been appointed to the position in the first place.

Senator Augusta Merriam
@NHSenatorMerriam

Having served together with Senator Bragg on the Senate Homeland Security Committee for some years now, and I was always struck by his dedication to the public good, and count him among one of my closest friends in the United States Senate. I am confident that he will prove to be an excellent Attorney General, one capable of meeting what is a challenging moment in our nation's history.

@MadamSpeaker

I welcome President Tawney's decision to dismiss Michael Jones from the office of Attorney General of the United States. He pursued policies in office that were aggressive against and damaging to the African-American community, and he dragged the traditionally nonpartisan Department of Justice into the political mud. This is a refreshing opportunity for a fresh start.
