Tenson for Governor Rally
Malta, Montana
March 5th, 2020

Tenson spent March 4th barnstorming the small rural towns of Phillips County, going from community to community and promising them a return of jobs and family values when he took office. He saved off on the county seat of Malta until the next day, as he had a very special event planned. He visited Malta almost all day on the 5th, before having a special rally that evening. During the afternoon he visited the Great Plains Dinosaur Museum and Field Station as well as the The Phillips County Museum and the H.G. Robinson House and Gardens.

"Good evening Malta, I gotta say. Traveling around this state again is privilege, no matter how many times I've done it. You see back in Jordan I got to see a big Tyrannosaurus skull. Now here I got to see all these different dinosaurs that were said to have lived here millions of years ago. Now here I got to see what they call a Triceratops, you know that big horned one. Pretty awesome looking if I say so myself. Let me just say, it kinda represents us in a way. Tough, rugid and willing to fight to survive.

You see when God created America he made a land where anyone with the determination and the skill to survive and make a living can prosper. But in recent years this hasn't been the case. Big far off cities continue to take jobs. An increasingly overbearing government continues to pass more and more intrusive laws while hardworking average Americans are locked out of moving upwards on the social ladder.

I wish for Montana to share in this prosperity our nation has built, which is why I decided to run for Governor. The current state administration has cast aside ordinary Montanans like you folks. That needs to end. I know what Montanans want. You want jobs! I will create jobs. I will ensure the Keystone Pipeline is completed, bringing thousands of new jobs to your communities. Those currently in power don't understand the oil business or business in general. I've led a business, I know how to get people working and get things done, the way that Bureaucrats in Helena don't.

We have plenty of untapped resources in this state, including coal and other valuable minerals. I will give companies the permits they need to get working and deliver new jobs in the coal, gas and timber industries. Wanting a stronger economy doesn't mean destroying our environment, it simply means gaining better wages for our hard-working men and women.

Our farms are being suffocated under Democratic leadership. We have nearly 30,000 farms in this state. We need to get out farms going and strengthen the Montana brand. I will fight vigorously to ensure our commodities made here are sold the prices Montanans deserve. When we export goods, we're gonna get our damned monies worth. For example, we need increased beef processing capacity here
in Montana, development of new value-added supply chains, and new markets for our agricultural products.

When I am Governor, I will make certain that every Montanan has access to broadband internet. The tech sector is the highest growing in the state, and there is no excuse for rural Montanans to have to leave their communities to work just because they can't get internet. For too long our families have been separated as the newer generations have to leave their hometowns to go to big cities in order to work for tech and cyber industry jobs. I will incentivize companies to bring internet to our communities in all parts of the state. Every town in Montana will have full internet access, allowing for our new workers to stay and have families in their hometowns as they work from right here, not in a far off city.

I will make certain every town in Montana has access to healthcare. I will work with companies to bring down drug prices and make sure all of our sick get the medicine they need. In Congress, I worked with both sides of the aisle to expand telehealth services. If one of your family members is sick I will be able to connect you with a health specialist in Billings or Helena at the press of a button from right here. No Montanan will ever have to travel miles just to visit a doctor, the doctors will come to you right through your computer or phone.

I will endlessly push to stop the drug epidemic that has devastated communities across the state. Our state's Department of Health and Human Services says that over 60,000 Montanans are afflicted with substance abuse issues, as well as constant crime as a result of drug problems. I will strengthen our law enforcement and pass tougher drug laws to make sure our communities are safe and protected. I will also work to combat the excessive spread of opioids in our communities. Montanan families deserve safety in their own home.

On the topic of families, I will preserve the values our families hold dear. I will defend the sanctity of life, which of course begins at conception. Our founding fathers understood this, that's why they included the phrase "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness." I will protect all Montanan's first amendment rights, including freedom of religion. I will unquestionably uphold our right to pray and worship freely and publicly, without fear of punishment or censorship.

The rights of law-abiding gun owners will be defended as well. For too long have those in power tried in any way they could to crack down on not just Montanan's Second Amendment rights, but all of Americas. When I am Governor, I will declare Montana to be a Second Amendment Sanctuary State, free from any attempts by Washington or elsewhere to take away our citizen's right to bare arms.

The truth is, the reason I'm seeking the office of Governor isn't even about any policy or malice against the current administration, its because I love Montana. My grandfather came here in the late 1910s and he fell in love with the land. He created a living for himself and a place where he could raise a family, including my late father. I resigned my office in Congress because I was tired of political gamemanship for little progress. I wanted to put Montana first and focus solely on my campaign to take back the state and see it fully prosper. When you go to the polls this fall, I ask that you vote for Montana. I ask that you vote Earl Tenson for Governor. Thank you.
