Hugo took the pen, looking at it for a bit. He then put it in his pocket. “I need my own pens”, he thought to himself. He then went to the door to Linda’s office and knocked.

"Come on in!" Linda replied, she sat in her desk with her laptop closed, with something that looked like a diary on the side of it. She stood and smiled as she saw who entered, "Ah! Mayor Fitzgerald, have a seat, have a seat!"

If you had asked Talitha how she planned to spend her weekend when she got home from the campaign trail Friday night, she would've said she was looking forward to relaxing with her family while full of anticipation for the upcoming primary win, and who wouldn't enjoy that? But instead, she would spend her weekend fighting the good fight. She spent Saturday morning meeting with Black community leaders and found broad agreement in the idea that the protests should be peaceful and calm, and after that she would spend the rest of the day on the street, helping to lead the protests and urging her fellow protestors to vote in November.

And then, she got a notification that 7 people had died in Atlanta that night and that quite a few more were injured. Telling the staffers that were with her what was up she made her way to Grady where she'd promptly be granted privileges and would work alongside her old co-workers to help save some lives. It was actually quite nice, getting to work with all of them again even if the circumstances that brought her back, for the time being, weren't all that nice.

Soon enough the hours would blur together and the rate of new patients would run low. Soon enough Talitha would find herself nursing a cup of coffee, chatting with old friends about the whole "running for Senate" thing. Soon enough she would notice the live coverage of "the Bernie Porter siege" thinking something along the lines of, "What the Fuck?" as she watched along.

Daniel Burton entered the Situation Room that evening, "status," he called out.

"ATF and FBI units are in position," replied a senior aide.

"We've told them to surrender," the Director of the FBI, "to no avail."

Burton nodded, "Can you please inform the President we're ready to begin the raid," Burton asked an aide. The room would wait for the President before commencing, while Burton read up on the setup. The ATF and FBI had coordinated their setup, the President had established the federalized Georgia National Guard to provide backup and be on standby. The goal was to capture him, the FBI Director sat beside Burton, and Burton looked at the Director, "capturing the bitch will be fun."

The ATF had denied his demands. The Bastard had been offered the chance to surrender.

"If we get him."

"Let's," Burton said calmly.

After standing and resuming their seats, Burton began relaying the information, "we expect two dozen hostiles hold the compound. Thus far they're not surrendering. ATF, FBI and the Guard are all standing by to act. If he doesn't surrender."

The FBI Director looked at the President, "Mr. President our intelligence on the inside is muddy, we don't know exactly what we're dealing with. For all we know, the entire building could be rigged to blow."

"We have little choice but to go in there," Burton looked at Tawney, "and fish him out."

The Last Days of Bernard Porter, Rural Georgia

"Are you ready to die, my friends, to fulfill your oath to the values of this nation?"

"Yes, sir!"

Porter saluted his men, and then they got into formation. The plan was clear. 3 men with automatics defending the tight corridors, along with men with shotguns lying around ready to ambush the ATF as they went in rooms, with barricaded doors, traps all over the place, cover created across the place, and ready for a slow and brutal resistance. The building was lined with explosives, along with a reserve shotgun for Porter in case the explosives didn't work. The manifesto was set up, prepared, along with the final broadcast when he finally blew himself up.

Glenn Sherburn entered the room after being updated on the situation in North Carolina. He read the updated folder on the Porter situation as he took a seat next to the President.

"Let's get that crazy motherfucker." He said bluntly, looking at the FBI Director.

Of the two dozen individuals inside of Porter's compound, five left their positions within the bunker and surrendered themselves to police, while the rest dug in, prepared to die. One of the men volunteered information to the Special Agent in charge concerning the layout of the compound and the rigging of explosives, in hopes for a lenient sentence going forward.
