"Thank you, everyone. Please be seated." Baxton began, guiding the room around.
"Before I begin our conference, I would like to say a few words." He continued. "Let me tell you all the purpose of this conference. The Bipartisan Consultation Committee on Recession Relief, or BCCRR, as it will be called, is here to provide for the American people. We are here to build solutions, to build unity and to strengthen America.
We stand here not as Republicans, not as Democrats, but as Americans, united in our collective principles and our collective greatness, the same greatness that God has bestowed upon every man and woman in this country. We are here to help the American people, and to ensure that this great challenge that lies ahead of us is defeated and that the American people may share in the fruits of prosperity soon enough.
The members of this committee are Congressman Faulhauber of Tennessee, Governor Caldwell of Washington, Senator Goldman of Connecticut, Congressman Edwards of Georgia, Mrs. Mudale of Alabama, and of course, myself.
We will now be taking questions, both from the American people..." He pointed at a large interface behind him, where people could call in, "And of course, the members of the press. You are free to ask as many questions as you'd like."

You know, at least when Earl Tenson looks at you, he's identifiably human. I'm not sure how much more of Governor Bucknell's cold, dead eyes a man's meant to take.

New Hampshire
Sunday 2nd May, 2020
Church had been droll, that was for certain. Catholic adherent as she was, Augusta could never shake the fact that her local church in Manchester was just... a bit dire, really. The vicar was drab, the decor was a bit lackluster, and frankly, the place had been build post-Vatican II so it lacked any of the charm that Old World Catholicism had. They wouldn't settle for this sort of thing in the old country, she was damn sure of that much. After drawing from a flask at her hip, she headed up into the Kolodziej family home and made her way to the library where she did much of her work when staying with family. Dumping her handbag on the desk, she slid into her chair, sighing harshly.
She remembered when she and Agatha Cragin had been friends. Legislative partners that had helped pin the Republican Party just shy of going totally fucking batshit. And it had been good, whilst it lasted. They've both weathered the humiliation of the (not-Kavanaugh) affair. And whilst Augusta had come out of it bold and determined not to bend to any further demands from Warrick or the White House, the Agatha that Augusta had known had withered and died, the vine almost entirely barren. The recent spate of events had been fierce. Brutal. Bloody. And Augusta didn't quite know how to feel about it. Deplorable, of course. Publicly, she could hardly embrace the bitter slander that had been unleashed against Eliza.
And yet... Augusta saw in those acts of raw survivalism, of sheer will to live that the Agatha Cragin that had been dying a slow death had found new vitality. Some remnant cinder of her old friend had been nurtured into an inferno. Augusta had been disgusted by what Agatha had become, so disgusted that she willingly embraced the chance to nurture Eliza and mould her in the same way that Augusta had influence over her stepson - to make the Wolf family her agents to keep the Republican Party honest. And now the Agatha that she had once known had re-emerged, like Lazarus from the tomb, an entirely unexpected series of events and in the wake of which the New Hampshirite knew she would have to reap what she had sewn.
Rustling through her handbag, she produced her phone and flicked through the numbers with a slow hum. Eventually, getting down to Senator Warrick's, she hit call and went to start pouring herself a bourbon as she listened to it dial.

Governor Bucknell says some good points but he is very ANTI-WOLF. I hope he is not trying to undermine the agenda us true Wolfists have. Very odd man, probably needs a Snickers...or a nap!

Henry Mason
@UtahMason1
I, like many Utahans and members of the Church of Jesus Christ, believe that a change in civil law, is not powerful enough to change the moral law that God has established for us to abide by, day in and day out. Sexual relations are proper only between a man and a woman who are legally and lawfully wedded as husband and wife. Period. But, this does not mean that people of the Homosexual group deserve any violence or hate directed towards them, as it is entirely against our Lords wishes. (Cont.)
Henry Mason
@UtahMason1
We do not believe that they are evil beings, and while we don't agree with their lifestyle choices, they are welcome in the House of God, and should be treated as fellow children of the lord up above, and by loving thy neighbor, you aren't supporting their lifestyle, but are instead supporting them in their road to recovery from their lifestyle. The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us to love and treat all people with kindness and civility, even when we disagree. We may not know precisely why some people feel attracted to others of the same sex, but for some it is a complex reality and part of the human experience. (Cont.)
Henry Mason
@UtahMason1
The Savior Jesus Christ has a perfect understanding of every challenge we experience here on earth, and we can turn to Him for comfort, joy, hope, and direction. When we create a peaceful environment, we build charity and empathy for each other and benefit from our combined perspectives and faith. People of any sexual orientation who violate the law of chastity can be reconciled with God through repentance, as God is the most forgiving being upon our beautiful lands. (Cont.)
Henry Mason
@UtahMason1
Whilst we are sympathetic to the Homosexual Man/Woman, we do believe that their activities ought to be discouraged, and kept away from the public eye, and mainstream media. We shouldn't promote Homosexual activities, or allow them to be piped into the homes of our Christian families, via mainstream and liberal media. I support a Ban on Pornography, and I support the Freedoms given to our churches and pastors, and businesses to be able to decide whether or not they want to provide their services to a Same-Sex couple.
