Hi!

It's me, Sare.

Or Saren.

Or Sar if you're weird.

Or Sarenium if you're my digital mother.

Over the past few weeks I've truly enjoyed the joys of playing with wiki-style articles and have received much appreciation and acclaim for my very irregular editing schedule. Other than Kelvi, who already has enough to do with Republican polling, I am more than prepared to help/teach others to help me out with our wikis. Right now there are two main wikis.

> https://iiwiki.us/wiki/2020_United_Stat ... s_(LOTF_RP) <
> https://iiwiki.us/wiki/2020_United_Stat ... n_(LOTF_RP) < {{ Both links need to be copy pasted because that last bracket isn't including in the URL for some reason }}

I want to create pages for the House and begin porting in legislation that's passed. I played around with this;

> https://iiwiki.us/wiki/Relief_Act_2019 <

... and I'd like to have much more happening. The main issue isn't so much that I can't do it all alone (I could spend many hours on this whole wiki, make it super pretty and have it ready for happy use eventually), the issue is more that I can't update it as regularly as I'd like NOR with as much detail and aestheticism I'd like.

It doesn't take much to learn, it's really just copy-pasting templates where needed into new wiki pages and going from there. The shit looks confusing (as Lozy learned) behind the scenes, but it has a rhythm to it once you get it.

Biography: (Minimum 2-3 paragraphs)

Born in Seville on a farm, to a loving father and loving mother, Tristian was always surrounded by animals. When Tristian turned 5, his father, William Dikes taught Tristian how to milk a cow and how to take care of the farm. Tristian from then on was taught core values, about hard work and not giving up. Tristian's family was non denominational, and attended church service every Sunday, so Tristian often found himself reading the bible for fun. This was because of Tristian's father being the head pastor of the church he attended. Tristian's mother was a stay at home mother, often staying home and taking care of the farm, as her husband went on week long missionary trips around the world. Tristian's dad would often bring pictures of the places he visited like Peru, France, and Canada, and Tristan was often left in awe. This would later inspire Tristian to learn more about photography, and to know when is the right time to shoot the right photo.

So it would be no surprise to Tristian's parent's that when Tristian turned 11, he joined the yearbook club at his middle school and familiarized himself with the camera. Tristian was always interested by the whole idea of capturing one moment and being able to keep it forever. One photography teacher that inspired teenager Tristian was Ricki Okamoto, a immigrant from japan, who won numerous awards in photography as well as working for National Geographic before he became a teacher. Okamoto often coached Tristian to look outside the box, and to pick a angel, but not too stay at the angle forever. "The camera never fails you, only you can fail the camera" Okamoto often told Tristian, and Tristian felt like Okamoto was his second father, guiding him in the art of photography. Okamoto's words not only inspired Tristian in the realm of Journalism and photography, but in politics and public service as well. Tristian as a student was decent, earning himself honor roll, with the occasional C here and there. But Tristian was no straight A student either, mostly getting A's and B's. Outside school however, Tristian was a very expectational child, often watching the News, documentaries, and reading newspapers.

Tristian's love of reading and getting informed about the current news, led Tristian to be the subject of bullying, as his fellow students called Tristian "A old man". But Tristian didn't mind the teasing and the name calling, in fact he got used to it, and the names that used to bother him became music to his ears. "So what if I'm a old man? I care about the future!" Tristian often told himself, and that always made him feel better. Tristian adapted to a lot of situations like when Tristian turned 15, his parent's moved from Seville a small unincorporated town to Deltona, the Largest city in Volusia country. This change delighted Tristian, has the animals could be annoying at times. The family stay kept the farm, but wanted their house and their farm to be separate, and not somewhere they would go to every day. Despite moving somewhere more crowded, Tristian wanted to see the city and when he visited Orlando for the first time, he was quite impressed. All the lights, the skyscrapers under construction, and the overall feel of the place. Living a urban life became attractive and ideal for Tristian, and it truly made him feel whole.

Tristian finally got his first job at the age of 16, at a local diner. Tristian's job including cleaning up the plates and tables. However Tristian would get distracted the the Television showing the local news. The reporter's bold, surreal, and truthful voice was soothing to Tristian's ears, and he couldn't help but watch. Even though Tristian was not very good at cleaning the dishes and helping out , the Diner's owner, Tracy Downer, saw that Tristian had a love for Politics and the news and told him to try to get a degree for Journalism and Political science. Tracy even offered to help pay the tuition costs for Tristian, so he would walk away from collage debt free. So when Tristian graduated, the year of 2003, Tristian took Tracy's deal and went to Stetson University in DeLand. He studied and majored in Political science and minored Journalism, just like the diner owner said. Despite College getting hard at times (Tristian often thought of quitting at times) Tristian's parent's, Tracy and Okamoto encouraged Tristian to finish college, which he did getting a Bachelors for both degrees.

Now that Tristian got his two degrees he hurried to find a news reporting job, in which he did, at a local CBS Television station. The news channel for Tristan's first story gave him a very short deadline to find a intriguing news report. Tristian struggled to find anything and looked everywhere for a good story. Finally 1 day before the deadline, Tristian found a story about pollution and Florida swamps. Tristian spent all night preparing for the news report and when the time came, told a moving and convincing story on why people should try to conserve the environment. Tristian's story, propelled him at the news station and started to become somewhat of a local celebrity. After reporting at the same news station for 11 years, Tristian thought it was time for a change of pace, and quit in 2018. So when Tracy told Tristian to become a congressmen, he thought that was a great idea. Tristian ran on a republican platform, although he was a moderate one who believed very strongly in climate change. Despite Tristian being a local celebrity, it was a difficult election, since his opponent was an experienced and well known politician. However, Tristan's campaigning team found some startling evidence about their democrat opponent and that the opponent openly supported racism and segregation. This allowed Tristian to win the election and beat his opponent in 2018. Tristian was now the representative of the 6th District of Florida.

In the election for 2020, his opponent had a good record and tired to win Tristian's position. However, due to Tristian's last 2 successful years, Tristian beat the competition once again.

As Tristian got older, at the age of 16, he got enough money from his part time job (his first job was working at McDonalds) to buy himself a camera, which he often took pictures of the animals on his parent's farm.

Then when 2004 hit, Tristian became instantly interested by politics. Despite not voting that year, Tristian started a new path, a path to be a news reporter. Tristian went to college for 4 years to major in Political Science and Minor in Journalism. Tristian then got a job as a local news cameraman, as humbly served the community until 2018. At that point, Tristian decided to run for representative, and successfully won, although barely. His district was harshly divided, but by running on a bipartisan third party platform, Tristian Dikes became U.S representative of District 6 of Florida.

Hello!

Welcome to the RP!

We do not allow Independent members of the House of Representatives. This is incompatible with the makeup of the current Congress (see the Original Post in this chain).

We also normally have a higher bar for application acceptance, especially for current officeholders. Further up this forum you can see the latest application to be accepted was a former Secretary of Energy, and candidate for U.S. Senate in Louisiana. They are not a current officeholder, and yet are chockablock full of detail. That is normally the detail-level we appreciate the most. For 35 year old members of the House (of whom there are very few), there needs to be a well-built application behind them.

Florida's 6th Congressional District is currently represented by a Republican. I invite you to reformulate Tristan Dike to fit his district, as a Republican. Look forward to seeing what you, and Mister Dike accomplish!

Oh okay, so if Dikes is going to represent Florida's 6th Congressional District, he must be Republican correct? Am I still accepted into the roleplay once I fix this?

Well, personality weaknesses are not an accepted weakness to occupy the entire row. He's young and from Florida, a state with an open Governors race in 2022 and very unique ramifications for the nation as a whole. There are few areas of farmland in Florida's 6th, that background needs fleshing out, hypothetically were he a farm kid in FL-6, he'd need a good rationale for why he's appealing in a district that's 88% urban, and what his background before entering Congress is, what Uni/College did he go to? Why did he study what he studied? What did mum and dad do? What made him run the first time? Why didn't he lose? Why did he stick around? What's he done since then?

These are the very base questions we ask all new players and their characters, I strongly recommend revisiting the application template, a minimum of 2-3 paragraphs is so that we have a basic idea of who this person is, I know nothing except he took photos of animals, became a journalist and then a Congressman.
