This thread is for the statblocks of the city-states of the Noble Cities RP. Do not post here if you haven't been approved to do so in the Out of Character thread. If you have been approved, please make your own post here containing the statblock I sent you, and remember to keep it updated from turn to turn. You can absolutely just copy and paste the statblock I sent you, but feel free to embellish with additional notes, cultural vagaries, and anything else which might enhance our immersion in the reality of your civilization.
Quite the unofficial fellow. Former P2TM Mentor specializing in faction and nation RPs, as well as RPGs. Always happy to help.

The Khortuun

Inhabitants of a great rift valley known colloquially as the Vale of Ustar or The Great Rift; the Khortuun's settlement of 'Sorrowfree' cling to the canyon's walls, while its inhabitants coax ranks upon ranks of fat black beans from the valley floor below. Of note is their stone-and-timber palisade, their moon-masked matriarchs, their love of obsidian for both war and finery - and the adoration with which they revere the humble camel.

Explored Areas:
N-N-N (Temperate Mountains | Black Ore, Native Copper, Cocoon Trees)
To the distant north the Mountains of Guard rise from the desert floor, and it is into these forbidding peaks that the men and women of the Khortuun range. It is cooler here, as one might expect, and after many days of journeying the explorers sight green plains to the east - verdant and wide, where an entire kindred could flourish. To north and west the mountains march, familiar and unbroken. In this wild country, untouched by men, deep veins of black ore, hard but beaded to the touch, can be found in the cliffs. Copper too is found here, deep green malachite, the servant of the Khortuun. Great trees covered in the cocoons of strange beasts that flutter on wings of color also grow in these highlands, the cocoons shades of crimson, and azure, and violet...

N-N-N-E (Temperate Plains | Chickens, Cherry Trees, Red Pines)
Northeast of north of north, the wide plains expand before the explorers. This region has clucking beasts which are hard on the ears, but succulent to consume, as well as bright red fruit-trees which bloom in resplendent pink and fragrant red pines. To the north and east the plains extend, arid and yet much more welcoming than the lands of desert near home.

N-N-E (Temperate Mountains | Incense, Crumble-rock, Silverfish)
Northeast of north, mighty mountains are the province of the explorers. Their heights are snow-capped, and their eastern edges verdant with vegetation, a testament to how the eastern wind and her storms are trapped ere they shower the Vale of Ustar with life-giving rain. There are fragrant trees, incense-bearers, which make their homes on the western slopes, while great veins of some red rock which crumbles under the hands of the explorers run down the cliffs into the earth. Small silver fish also teem in the mountain pools and still lakes fed by tall ice-glaciers, a momentous sight for the Khortuun. Eastward the mountain fall away into fertile plains, and south more mountains march.

W-W-N (Desert Mountains | Obsidian, Volcanic Effusions, Granite)
To the distant northwest, into the high mountains, the Khortuun explorers roam. Smoky valuable obsidian can be found here in great rivers descending from the summits of the mountains, and volcanic fissures may be found here and there, deep rivers of molten rock gouged down into the earth. There is also deep black granite, flecked with specks of red and gray, good for building or perhaps other things. Otherwise the landscape is mostly lifeless, wracked by the fury of the earth.

W-W-W (Temperate Forests | Orange Gourds, Grey Ore, Red Sandstone)
The explorers descend from the eastern mountains, moving through a land of tall silent trees and endless foliage. Their march is uninhibited by man or beast, and soon it becomes clear that the moist cool lands west of the Spine of the World are thickly forested indeed. To both north and south and west of here the forests extend, unbroken. Gray stones thick with ore can be found here, as well as ripe orange gourds good to eat. There are also large deposits of red sandstone which rise above even the trees in strange stone needles.

W-W-W-N (Temperate Forests | Volcanic Effluence, Orange Gourds, Butterstone )
The explorers dispatched to reconnoiter the lands near the brutal heights where the beasts and barbarians lie waiting have returned unharmed. This region is one of endless trees, part of the seemingly infinite woodlands that cluster between the mountains of the Spine of the World and the great western sea. Volcanic fissures can be found in the foothills descending from the Spine here, and orange gourds grow in the woodlands, savory, almost the flavor of fresh bean-bread. There is also a strange stone to be found here, a pale white glistening ore which has a faint melody when held near to the ear, though it seems brittle and easy to crumble in the hand, whereupon it seems to revert to so much dun sand.

W-W-W-W (Temperate Forests | Great Wolves, Native Copper, Inkstone)
The explorers sent far to the west return with news of a distant green country, as much tree as land it almost seems. Endless forests stretch into this distance, as far as the eye can see in all directions. Great wolves with dappled pelts of mud and green hunt amidst the trees there, each large enough for a man to almost ride, and native copper, gleaming and of great value, studs the soil. Moreover immense outcroppings of stone, as black as the ink of midnight, rise from the forest, sheer pillars where only the eagles or Mother Moon might tread.

W-W-W-W-W (Temperate Forest | Abalones, Shoreside Cattle, Red Apples)
In the utter west the forests at last come to an end, the coastline breaking through the trackless arboreal depths. To both west and south the ocean beckons, only heard about in the myths and legends of the people of Corvus. Northward, the forest continues. Large abalone that are filled with succulent flesh stud the waters of the beaches here, and impressive cattle with long horns graze in the shore-meadows. There are also red apples, good to eat.

W-W-W-W-W-N (Temperate Forests | ?, ?, ?) (BARBAROI!)
Of the women who turned north, a quick return is noted. They speak of a great spire of stone which rises from the forest, as sheer as any wall, and wild men who move about nearby - and living stones. It is a familiar tale, and perhaps only luck that they were not spotted by what must be, at last, the marauders which claimed so many of their kindred...

W-W-W-W-W-S (Temperate Forests | Great Pines, Tartberries, Nomkelp)
The explorers who turned south map out a wild country of trackless forests, abutted to both south and west by tempestuous seas. Immense pine trees grow here, impressive timbers for construction, alongside stands of tart raspberries which fill bellies with welcome change from dried rations and travel-bread. Large stands of kelp can be seen floating off the coast, and wash up on the beach here as well.

The Sons of Corvus

The Sons of Corvus reside in a city named after their ancient patriarch, set upon a hill gazing over vast fields of grain. Of note are their kindred relationship with wolves, the bleating flocks of goats that dot the landscape, and a powerful mastery of bronze. Founded by a bold visionary hundreds of years ago, his children have been unconcerned with the world beyond the mountains, focusing inwards on simple farming and hunting. They enjoy good relationships with their neighbors, as long-standing marriage trades were a necessity to survive and expand their bloodlines.

The Corvidian faith, the Worship of the Divine Aspects, praises five gods - the Crow, the Wolf (or Vennon), the Mother and Youth, the Blacksmith, and the Mother-Moon. The Crow is the god of chance, cleverness, fate, trickery, and instinct. The Wolf is the god of bravery, strength, warfare, and brotherhood. The Mother and Youth, two beings worshipped as one god, are the gods of wisdom and ingenuity, respectively. The Blacksmith is the god of labor, construction, farming, herding, and smithing. The Mother-Moon is less understood than the others, primarily worshipped by Khortuun immigrants and those influenced by their ways.

However, despite having their own distinct religion, the Corvidians are the ultimate polytheists. All gods of other religious are seen as valid to some extent, with foreign beliefs being believed to rule and watch over the people of those realms. The Mother-Moon watches the deserts around Sorrowfree, the Clan of Gedymedith the mountains of the Aeder, and the River Father over the Penithel and Riversmouth. The Corvidian "Wonder of the World" is the Temple of a Thousand Pillars, a great structure with shrines to many religions and faiths, which stands over the original Four-Pillar Shrine.

The Corvidians have tanned skin, reddish hair, and hazel eyes, though there are some with darker skin and some with brown hair, influenced by the bloodlines of the Khortuun and the Aederfolk. Marriage ties between both groups of people were established nearly 200 years ago, and there has been significant intermingling. The Corvidians are a polygamous society, with multiple wives being a societal norm. Some women even have multiple husbands, though this is less common. As a society, there are distinct roles for men and women, but the city has been influenced signifantly by Sorrowfree. While last names are passed down through male heirs, women are allowed to own property and seek divorce from their husbands.

The Corvidian calendar starts at Year 0, or "Destiny's Awakening". A prophecy was made in this year, by Liana Dreamweaver, that the sons of Corvus would be "as numerous as the stars, and as mighty as the mountains". From Year 0 to Year 22, the Corvidians were rising from their village of simple hunter-gatherers into the first semblance of an organized city. They were directed by the "Tribelord", a despotic ruler selected by the religious caste of the Spirit-Guides. The Tribelord during this era was Crennon 'The Builder' Sharpeye. In Year 8, the Huang city of Zhongdu was burnt down and looted - a formative moment for Corvus.

In Year 22, Craenon 'The Warrior' Sharpeye arose to power in a coup, disrupting a religious ceremony and taking power through threat of violence. He was a rising star of the Corvidians, the leader of the Bloodred Pack (the warriors of the city). During his era, the culture of Corvus became quite warlike, with expansionist tendencies and an innate belief of superiority of ancestry and religion. This was shattered in the year 36, when the combined forces of Sorrowfree and Corvus marched on Zhai Cheng in search of loot and glory - and instead, received a terrible defeat. As a result, the Stratocracy was ended, with Craenon resigning and vanishing - widely believed to have committed suicide, though the body was never truly found. The loss caused a tremendous lapse of faith in their former institutions, and the government was replaced by an oligarchic council known as the "City's Soul" in the year 40.

Now, in the period between Year 40 to Year 66, the Corvidians have become the foremost warriors on another front - commerce and wealth. The Corvidians are greedy, ambitious, and clever. Hagglers and traders, merchants and marketeers, swindlers and mountebanks. Propped up by an immense economy based on leather and bronze, they use their wealth of natural resources and metalworked goods to bend the world around them to their whims. In recent years, they have won the Ustarran games, created friendships with northern neighbors, and sent armies to both the Chasm of Abominations and the Den of Demons.

From Year 66 to Year 90, the Corvidians found identity and purpose in outward expansion, relationships with allies, and as a formidable military power. Old habits die hard, and Craenon's period of Stratocracy left its influence embedded in Corvan society.

As of the end of the era:

Explored:

[S-W-W-W] To the south and west, then west and west again, the men of Corvus explore, out into the deep on small rafts. The sea is wracked by violent storms, but luckily all men survive. There are abundant fish here, and strange moving islands which submerge and emerge at intervals close to the men, giving off great spouts of water which are a wonder to behold. There is no sign of land though, save to the south, and the east from whence they came.

[W-N-N-N] West of north of north of north the other sons of the city range, deep into the forest which their ancestors knew of. To their east rise the mountains of the Spine of the World, separating this forest from the lands of the Khortuun, and to both north and west deep forests continue. Forest boars, good to eat, roam here, and malachite is in abundance, though lamentably far from the city. There is little else here of note, save perhaps thick mats of moss which flourish in the damp underbrush and amidst the many streams of the region.

[S-W] The men sent south and west return, telling tales of a great hot jungle which lies upon such a latitude. The sea enfolds it, crashing on bays and reefs of black sand and red coral, to both north and west, and south marches the immense depths of tropical woodland. Yellow fruit grows not far into this jungle, curved and sweet to eat, and and curious black rock which is hot to the very touch, as if indwelt with the strength of the sun, litters the forest floor. Many men displays burns from stepping upon this stone. There are other words of caution though - immense beasts, like a man's arm, but as long as a man, clad in scales which turn both spear and arrow, wander the heights of the trees. A half dozen of the men do not return, no doubt having fallen prey to these creatures... but this is not all of the news. Strange men, clad in gleaming armor the color of the stars, did the explorers see in this direction. They moved in a great host, but as quiet as phantoms, with faces identical and grave. Upon questioning only half of the explorers saw them, the rest seeing nothing where the others reported a great army.

The Nirari People

The Nirari: The city of Daru was founded on north of the Pardis Mountains by the Nirari Tribe, the dominant cultural group in the city. While there some people from other tribes integrated within the tribe and the city it founded, it was built on Nirari principles and built to provide a home for the Nirari going forward. In times past they wandered the plains and even trekked the mountains before founding the city. They seek to dominate the various beasts of the plains, to which end they have domesticated the great horned lords, Unicorns, and as an easy source of food, the chickens living in the area they now live. They continue to seek out further creatures and plants to aid in their dominion over the land. To this end, they worship the mysterious Ancestor, a goddess of the earth which the priestly class claims will help all life grow in and around the city.

Warcyfle

The island nation of Storms. Known as the Sons of Tes'la and the nation of Warcyfle. They are a maritime culture of advance navalmen in the Mirror Sea. The Mirror Sea is the name for the Southwest region of the Different World and is normally isolated from the world. The Mirror Sea is home to the most advanced naval powers in the world currently, with the Warcyfle having just reverse engineered clinker shipbuilding from a barbarous people known as the Fog-Men. Over the past 278 years currently the Warcyfle, despite being small, have proven successful enough to have their culture stamped and spread. From their founding of electromancy, to building the Aun'kal their own navy, to even surprising the Ithoi with their skill in naval navigation.

Currently they have finally expanded into the mainland properly. Their lead Se'pokku is taking in the leadership as chieftain of the council and marshalling plans to try and get the Sons of Tes'la as the premier power in the Mirror Sea. One plan that may cost them an ally and gain another, or solidify their current ones to destroy the enemy.

The Kingdom of Penithel

A long isolationist and inward-looking society now attempting to look beyond the distant flat horizons of the fertile plains that surround them which does not mean neglect of the homeland. Masters of their servant, copper, the Pennenthelli of Penithel center their budding, neonate civilization on the city of Avnelin which stands on the banks of a mighty east-flowing river not far from the sea. They have begun ranging across the plains to trade and raid, both serving to swell their small town with wealth, only the future knows what is in store for the Pennethelli as they take more and more steps out into the great wide world.
