This is another thing I'd rather we don't go there for the sake of being "badass." Believe it or not Russian special forces actively try to avoid civilian casualties these days and have come a long way since the Moscow theater hostage crisis and the Beslan siege.

The realism aspect might end up limiting the pool of interested participants.

It's not so much strict realism as it is knowing what derails RPs of this genre. Sociopath characters who don't care about civilian casualties are one of those things.

Bio: Bihari was the middle child of four in Bankura, India, to a family of farmers. Growing up, Bihari and his siblings were expected to help run the farm and when it was time. Help his older brother run the farm since they were poor and there were not many prospects for him that were better. However, Bihari did not wish to remain on his family's small farm forever and sought ways to get a scholarship so he could go to college. His efforts failed, unfortunately, and while he was hesitant to join the military at first. Viewing it as a last option and wanted other alternatives after his uncle's bad experience with the military. With few options left, Bihari decided to join the military when he was old enough. Hoping that he did not make a mistake doing so and not end up like his uncle.

During training, Bihari had shown a knack for explosives and was given additional training before being assigned to the Bihar Regiment. His posting was a quiet one, and he would see little action. This changed when his regiment was rotated in the Jammu and Kashmir region for a brief time. There Bihari would see his first taste of action against the insurgents of the region. Though not before seeing firsthand the abuses, of some of the local army units and tried to expose it to little effect. Causing Bihari to harden and strive to not ever become the men he met in Jammu and Kashmir.

After five years and after what the military has given him, along with a desire to do more and his commanders' urging. Bihari volunteered to join the Para SF and after passing both Selection and the probation training. He went through the grueling three and a half years of training. Bihari would pass and would even pass the Balidan Padh after surviving being deployed into hostile combat zones. Something that he was proud of, and he was formally inducted into the Para SF. Which Bihar would see more action. The most noteworthy was the 2016 Surgical strikes near the Lines of Control between India and Pakistan in the Jammu and Kashmir region. Then in 2020, he was involved with border skirmishes with China.

It was in 2022 when Rainbow learned about Bihari and offered him to join them. Which after thinking about it, he accepted and was transferred to the group. Having only been with Rainbow for a year when the chemical attacks prompted Rainbow to act. He was assigned to the team that was under Operation Swordbreaker.

During her service within the navy, she primarily served within the Sea Battalion’s boarding company. Operating within teams to conduct search and seizures of vessels. Had a steady performance record within the platoon, shining within practical training routines, conforming easily to the military lifestyle aboard the various german naval vessels. Served fours year’s active service before being transferred into inactive reserve in 2015, being promoted to Maat (OR-5).

Within a few months of inactivity, Tiedemann elected to try out for Deployment Group 3402, fulfilling all the criteria for entry. Proceeded with training during the mid 2015 cycle. She performed satisfactorily throughout the introductory course, almost failing during hell week during the sleep deprivation, but Tiedemann made it through. IC is up. As promised, an overview of the first mission as well. It's been gone over in the IC thread as well, but I want to post mission briefings in the OOC as well as a sort of archive, and to avoid briefing scenes in the IC devolving into question and answer sessions.

Mission 1

Rainbow receives intelligence from Armenian authorities that Armenian ultranationalists linked to the Baku chemical attack have established a hideout in an old warehouse on the outskirts of Stepanakert, in the Armenian controlled sector of Nagorno-Karabakh. Armenian authorities estimate 10 ultranationalists inside the warehouse. Armenian military and police, alongside Russian and Turkish peacekeepers, have established a security perimeter in order to prevent anyone from entering or leaving the area via road. Rainbow is to raid the warehouse. We are to capture the cell leader, Tigran Petrosian, as well as capture or kill any other hostiles in the warehouse. Petrosian is a former Armenian special forces soldier and veteran of the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh War. The remainder of the cell are also veterans of this conflict, and are likely to have received at least some training in advanced tactics from Petrosian. As well, Rainbow is to attempt to recover as much intel as they can from the warehouse.

Rainbow will insert from the position labeled "Armenian Checkpoint 1", using the smaller industrial buildings to make a stealthy approach to the large warehouse from the southeast.

Bio: Born into a poor Texan family, Johnathan didn't have many prospects after high school. His father was a Vietnam War veteran, and pushed Johnathan to enlist in the Army. He would find himself being trained as a Combat Engineer in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. After 9/11, he found himself in the First Invasion of Iraq in 2003. Over the course of his 4 year enlistment, he would find himself deployed three times before re-enlisting and going to Sapper School. He found himself with the 75th Rangers, serving three more deployments up until he got injured by an RPG blast to his vehicle. He would recover, go to airborne school, and spend a few years stateside before deploying again in Afghanistan in 2013, doing special operations with the 75th. After this deployment, he would go to Air Assault School and end up being selected for the multinational Rainbow program, which he would serve in for many years to come.
