When we leave, Karu is going to want to be performing a merc trick with the shuttle to demonstrate her very unhappiness at our opposing merc force...I call it an engine saber...essentially let a lit booster go laminar flow burning fuel but not generating much thrust so when you spin the ship it acts more like a giant blow torch or...a plasma light saber to make whoever is looking down the wrong end of the flame become gas or glass...depending on their life choices.

Yeah, I guess it's fine if Karu does too, but Raela is gonna be a bit salty about it, particularly since the mercenary Karu caught is near the ship, so is presumably going to be brought in first.

And now Karu didn't bring in the merc just his gear and identity materials...because she wouldn't haul in another prisoner if they already have one...

Name: Alonn Malay, known also as the Golden Death.
Species: Neiral
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Appearance: He looks like a typical Neiral, except he’s of the variant that has a tail instead of legs. He’s a fishlike humanoid with large black fishlike eyes, pale yellow skin and tail covered in glimmering golden scales. He’s got rows of sharp teeth, much like a shark and he wears his blond “hair” (actually thin stingers) long, in all of his forms.
Role: Soldier
Expertise: Tracking and weapon proficiency, especially when it comes to hunting
Abilities His arctisite grants him the following abilities:

Shapeshifting: Nothing huge, it just allows him to change from his usual fish-tail form to the two-legged triton form of most Neirel, giving him the ability to walk on land. However, he usually appears as a handsome human man with shoulder-length blond hair and blue eyes with the help of his cloaking device, greatly resembling a wristwatch.

Siren’s Song: His enchanting voice can disorient and confuse those within listening range, buying time to set up an attack.

Hydrokinesis: The ability to manipulate water in combative forms, including changing the temperature of any water he touches.

Weaknesses: Hydration: there’s a real danger his skin/organs can dry out so he keeps water on his person at all times. Also he can’t use his water powers if there isn’t any water for him to use.

Hot-Headed: He can be quite hot-tempered and imperious, he’s used to being the one giving commands instead of taking them so being under the command of somebody else is...chafing to say the least. He’s also inherited quite a bit of his late mother’s overprotective and somewhat overbearing nature.

Mortal: He’s mortal and can be killed like any other mortal being.

Bio: Born in the underwater city-state of Thalassa on the Neirel home world of Aeries, Alonn was the eldest of two sons born to Thalassa’s queen Ligeia, who was involved with the other races of the Confederation in order to ensure the high spot and welfare of their kingdom and their race. She was proactive in the interests of her people and her sons, something her children would take after. As crown prince, Alonn was raised with the expectation that he would be king someday, and so his childhood was a bit of a sheltered one, of duty and expectations. Seldom was he allowed to interact with the common children and his overprotective mother never let him go anywhere without a guard, so for the longest time the only friends that the young prince had were his faithful tutor and his younger brother Ceto.
Fortunately he would gain more freedom in his early teens, when he was officially sworn in as Crown Prince. After the ceremony he would gain more responsibility (and also receive his arctisite) but this was the age where his talent for hunting would also shine through. He was allowed to lead a pack of hunters through the oceans for the first time at age fourteen, and the speed and efficiency for which he killed prey (and eventually enemies) became remarked upon.

When he wasn’t hunting or learning, his hobbies included exploring the oceans with his younger brother and learning how to use weapons of war and at sixteen, he entered the royal military. The first mission he was assigned became the one for which he was famous, it was a stealth mission. One of their empire’s planets had been invaded, so Alonn and his unit were set to go and shut down the enemy forces. Ligeia didn’t want her eldest son to go, but Alonn was insistent. “What sort of king would I be if I’m unable to protect my people?” and so she he was sent. As he and his unit were doing a nighttime stakeout of the enemy, Alonn developed a tactic born of his love of hunting. His favorite method of dispatching the enemy was using his siren’s voice to lure prey to him, they’d become entranced and dazed and that’s when he’d strike with the speed and ferocity of a shark. All too often, all they saw was the golden glint of his scales on the water before they were dragged under and quite often eaten when their rations ran low. Yes, he was pretty brutal for one of the peaceful Neirel (“don’t ask, I was a weird child.”) and this method of killing earned him his nickname of the Golden Death, a nickname he embraced although it disappointed his beloved mother. Alonn didn’t enjoy war for the sake of it, but he was determined to become a strong ruler in order to ensure his people stayed safe...something that rubbed quite a few of his pacifist people the wrong way.

His life changed about five years ago, when his mother was struck with a sudden illness. The prince was brash and impulsive but he dearly adored his family, and so when his mother wished for him to settle down he eventually agreed after some back and forth. He got married, he had children, he prepared to secure the kingdom’s future which was now unsure...Ligeia passed away six months later, and Alonn was weeping through his whole coronation. Now king of Thalassa, he turned his attention to strengthening borders and internal affairs. Things carried on like that until his brother Ceto came to him one day after a space trip, giddy and flushed under his silvery skin to announce that he intended to marry. Alonn asked him who it was, and the answer didn’t please him one bit. It was a human, and not only that, a smuggler from another planet no less?! Ceto insisted they were in love, but the king was having none of it. He’d lost his mother four years prior, he couldn’t lose his only brother too! He forbade the marriage on account that his chosen lover wasn’t of royal blood, but in reality he didn’t want the only sibling he had to be carted possibly light years away. Of course this drove a wedge between them, when they were formerly so close. Alonn was convinced that this was the right thing to do, and eventually Ceto seemed to make peace with it. So it came as a total surprise when the prince’s guards came to the king and frantically announced that the prince was missing.

Alonn ordered a thorough search of not only the kingdom, but he also sent forces out to their other colonies to see where Ceto could’ve gone. The reports found no sight of him, and Alonn’s heart filled with dread. With months passing not hearing from his brother, the king was determined that he should search for him himself. Recently a group of scouts came to him and reported that someone matching the prince’s description was spotted somewhere on a planet in the Abyss, and when Alonn heard that there was a crew going to that very same spot, he made his preparations, left the kingdom in the capable hands of his wife and eldest children with the instruction that they report to him if need be, and joined the crew of the Oriasa at the first opportunity.

Equipement: Water, and lots of it. His cloaking device which allows him to take on a human appearance, a standard issue pistol and his sword, his weapon of choice.
