Here’s the maps of Canon. Different maps have different purposes. NOTE: Map may not always be up to date, so look at latest signups and list of existing players down at the bottom, to make sure any areas you've been eyeing haven't been accepted by the admins from someone else who already applied or is in the process of getting accepted.

Blank map
Just a blank HOI4 map for use by the players.

Current RP map

Faction Map
Blue = Western Democracy Gang
Red= Commie Gang
Yellow = Isfahan

Resource Map
This map is meant for reference on select resources. It is not definitive and based on data collected by the mods. Not every province is the same. If you want the paint.net file with layers that will be available on discord.

RULES
No Metagaming, that is using knowledge obtained Out Of Character for advantage In Character.
No Godmodding, that is declaring events happen in another player’s nation without permission
No Collusion, that is working Out of Character with other players to create an unfair playing field for other player(s)
No Plagiarizing in posts
Players cannot RP for other players

Colonies:
Players with Colonies have control over how their colonies acts in the RP
Players with colonies can use their colonies’ yearly points on their own nation but at a cost of half the point taken (e.g. 2 yearly points taken from a colony results in the homeland gaining 1 yearly point). Such action results in extra unrest.
Players with colonies control trade the colony does both with others and the homeland, unfair trade can result in increased corruption within the homeland. Also if trade consists of the colony buying resources with their yearly points, those too are also halved (i.e. 2 yearly points for 5 oil results in the colony getting 5 oil and the exporter 1 yearly point)
Players can spend their homeland’s yearly points on colonies at a modifier of 1.5 (e.g. 1 yearly point from a homeland results in 1.5 yearly points for a colony).
Players can use their influence points for coups/uprisings. Results depend on IC actions.

Points Indexes
Players are given starting points and bonuses (see below). These affect a variety of different stats which shall be kept track on a spreadsheet. All players will have their own sheet. Players each IC year will be given points to invest in different indexes. The amount of points depends on their relative statistics to other players. Points can also be traded to other players for resources or military equipment.

Development Sheet

Factbook on the Development Sheet

Posting
Players are expected to date their posts and dates are expected to be reasonable close to the date posted by the previous player, from -2 to +7 days of the last IC post (more with mod approval).
-Time of the post is helpful, but not required. Please keep timezones in mind if you do plan to include times.
-Do not double post without mod approval
-If 24 hours have passed from the latest IC post players can post from -3 to +14 days of the latest IC post (more with mod approval)
-If 48 hours have passed from the latest IC post players can post from -5 to +21 days of the latest IC post (more with mod approval)

Activity
Players must commit to making 1 post every other week. Failure to do so will result in the player declared inactive and their nation being claimable by new players or any player that would want to reapp.
Players declared inactive must make 2 posts within a 2 week period to be removed from the list
If a player is expected to be busy they should inform the mods on the OOC thread, they will be given an exception to the rule if their justification is valid.
Players that have been gone for a decent amount of time can request on the OOC thread to make a “recap post” that goes over what happened within their nation since their last post. Such posts must be approved by the mods before posting on the IC thread.

NPC MECHANIC
-As NPC or even player land can be annexed or invaded, however, keep in mind that this has more realistic consequences pertaining to possible economic, political, or social fallout. Or they can be integrated more gradually and realistically. From which points may be utilized to do so. Players can either engage with an NPC via force or via Diplomacy. Diplomacy requires spending “Influence Points.” Players gain 15 points per post and double that amount (30) for collab posts (2 or more players) of Quality. UN posts declaring the results of a vote results in all members that voted gaining 5 points. Force just requires IC action (i.e. declaration of war) Players must post on the OOC thread to spend points.

NPC Relationship Flowchart
This flowchart shows the path of relationships a player and NPC can travel. Here are all options players can spend Points on. Players must wait 3 IRL days before spending points on an NPC’s relationship after spending points on said NPC.

Relationship sheet

Trade
Embargo another player/NPC: The NPC no longer trades with the target player/NPC. requires Sanction, 2.25 influence points per province.

Sanction another player: The NPC reduces trade with the target player/NPC. Player can choose specific resources. Requires Neutral Relationship, 1.25 influence points per province

Neutral Relationship: the NPC does not like nor dislikes the player. Nominal trade. Players start here unless otherwise stated. To move from sanction to neutral costs 1 influence point per province.

Preferential Trade Area: The NPC and player reduces tariffs among each other. Players can choose 1 resource to gain from the NPC (details subject to mod approval). Requires Neutral Relationship, 1 influence point per province.

Free Trade Area: The NPC and Player reduces tariffs and trade barriers even further. Player can choose 1 resource to gain from the NPC (details subject to mod approval). Requires Preferential Trade Area, 1.25 influence points per province.

Customs Union: Player and NPC reduces tariffs and trade barrier even more. NPC adopts common external tariffs of the player. Player can choose 2 resources to gain from the NPC (details subject to mod approval). If two or more players are in a customs union, depending on the details of the organization, a set amount of players (i.e. 50%, 66%, 100%) must spend points on the NPC together to have them pass any trade agreement. Players in a customs union with another player cannot make unilateral trade agreements with another player or NPC. Other players cannot create trade deals with the NPC or player without player agreement and spending applicable points on the NPC. Cartels fall under Customs Unions as a special variant. Members can still engage in unilateral trade agreements with other players/NPC but not over the specific resources the cartel is oriented around. Players cannot be in multiple cartels over the same resource. Requires Free Trade Area, 1.75 influence points per province.

Common Market: Elimination of most trade barriers between NPC and Player. NPC and player adopt common regulations. Player can choose 2 resources to gain from the NPC (details subject to mod approval). If two or more players are in a Common Market, depending on the details of the organization, a set amount of player (i.e. 50%, 66%, 100%) must spend points on the NPC together to have them pass any trade agreement. Players in a Common Market with another player cannot make unilateral trade agreements with another player or NPC. Other players cannot create trade deals with the NPC or player without player(s) agreement and spending applicable points on the NPC. Requires Customs Union, 2.25 influence points per province.

Economics Union: All trade Barriers are eliminated. Player and NPC adopt common monetary policy and shared currency. Player gains access to 3 Resources to gain from the NPC (details subject to mod approval). If two or more players are in an Economics union, depending on the details of the organization, a set amount of player (i.e. 50%, 66%, 100%) must spend points on the NPC together to have them pass any trade agreement. Players in an Economic Union with another player cannot make unilateral trade agreements with another player or NPC. Other players cannot create trade deals with the NPC or player without player(s) agreement and spending applicable points on the NPC. Requires Common Market, 2.75 influence points per province.

For Common Markets and Economic Unions between players and or NPCs (i.e. Player-Player, Player-NPC) must be done with compatible economic systems. Economics Union requires more compatible systems than common markets. i.e. LFC and B. Socialism won't work

Military
War!: the NPC declares war on target NPC/Player (details subject to mod approval) requires Cut Diplomatic Ties, 2.25 influence points per province.

Cut Diplomatic Ties: NPC cuts diplomatic ties on Target NPC/Player requires neutral relationship, 1.25 influence points per province.

Neutral Relationship: the NPC does not like nor dislikes the player. Nominal military relationship. To move from diplomatic ties to neutral requires 1 influence point per province.

Non Aggression Pact: The NPC and Player agree not to take aggressive actions against each other. Requires Neutral Relationship, 1 influence point per province.

Basing Rights: the NPC grants the player the rights to station troops within their border. Requires Non Aggression Pact, 1.25 influence points per province.

Defense Pact: Player(s) and NPC agree to a joint defence pact, if one is attacked the other will join in aid. If two or more players are in a Defense Pact, depending on the details of the organization, a set amount of players (i.e. 50%, 66%, 100%) must spend points on the NPC together to have them pass any military agreements. Players in a Defense Pact with another player cannot make unilateral Military agreements with another player or NPC. Other players cannot create Military Agreements with the NPC or player without player(s) agreement and spending applicable points on the NPC, 1.75 influence points per province.

Military Alliance: Player(s) and NPC agree to a joint Military Alliance. The NPC will join any conflict the player(s) is involved in. If two or more players are in a Military Alliance, depending on the details of the organization, a set amount of players (i.e. 50%, 66%, 100%) must spend points on the NPC together to have them pass any military agreements. Players in a Military Alliance with another player cannot make unilateral Military agreements with another player or NPC. Other players cannot create Military Agreements with the NPC or player without player(s) agreement and spending applicable points on the NPC, 2.25 influence points per province.

Final Relationships
Sphere of Influence: Each NPC can only be in one Sphere of Influence. The NPC listens to the player more so than any other player. Any sort of agreement with another player requires the SOI player’s agreement. Auto defaults to vote in line with the player in any international organization. Requires EITHER a Free Trade Area AND Basing Rights, OR Common Market, OR Military Alliance. Having an SOI does not grant a military alliance or Common Market if one does not have such already. Requires 3 influence points per province.

Annexation: Target NPC is peacefully annexed within your nation. Requires Sphere of Influence. 2.75 influence points per province annexed, minimum 5 provinces.

Other Options
Vote: the NPC will vote how you want in an international organization it is a part of. Goes to the player who bids the most amount of influence points on the OOC thread, yet higher relationships also play a role. At least .5 influence per province.

Reduce Relationship: Reduces Relationship from Free Trade Area and Basing rights down to Neutral. Target NPC calls off previous agreement it had with another player. 1 influence point per province

Break Pact/Union: The NPC leaves a customs union or defense pact with the target player. Reduces the relationship down one level i.e. Defense pact -> Basing rights. 1.5 influence points per province.

Break Market/Alliance: The NPC leaves a common market or Military alliance with the target player. Reduces the relationship down one level i.e.Military Alliance-> Defense Pact. 1.75 influence points per province

Coup/Uprising: Breaks Sphere of Influence if applicable. Details subject to mod approval. Success and results depend on IC actions. Players must fill out a Coup/Uprising application. 2.5 influence points per province.

Military Rules:
-On the Development Sheet players will have Soldier, army, navy, air, and WMD points. Players spend these points on units with varying levels of equipment.
-Don’t need all specifics on equipment till you are faced with going to war. General description is okay prior.

Players should have their factbooks complete before the end of the 1st IC year, failure results in the player's nation not having a standing military,
Players cannot engage in military actions until they have approved Military factbooks
Players CAN engage players who have not completed their factbooks, but must assume they do have a standing military (unless stated otherwise), mods will grant a period of time for the other player to finish their factbook.
Players that want to engage an NPC must request on the OOC thread so the mods can create a military factbook for the NPC
Use of Nuclear weapons can be declared non canon by the mods at their discretion
If there is an active military conflict in the world, players can send their military points to a belligerent in order to strengthen them. They must have an actual means of sending the equipment. Players are free to pre-determine the equipment or just send "points" that the belligerent will use themselves
Players can also send up to 1 yearly point per year to belligerents
belligerents can spend yearly points on either Army divisions (.5 points) or Guerilla forces (.2 points)
this results in a max of 2-5 divisions per year players can send to belligerents
the transfer of yearly points does take time IC as it is aid/supplies and belligerents must take the time listed on the military doc to build units.
Thus from the transfer of points a guerilla force could take 1.5-2.5 months
while an army division 3.5-4.5 months

ICARUS Launch Date Fast Approaching as TASERED Stands Against the Taiyinese Domination of Space

Image
The ICARUS is an upscaled version of the PROMETHEUS spacecraft (pictured above) which took Tarazedian, Italian, Great Eilean, Galaisian and Drucezchskian astronauts to the moon in the early seventies.

Officials from the Tarazedian Aeronautics, Space and Earth Research Division (TASERED) have announced that the planned launch of the internationally controversial ICARUS spacecraft carrying the Imperial Star space station and its crew into orbit will launch in March from the island of Niue as scheduled.

The Imperial Star currently stands as the largest single object carried into space by a launch vehicle, and is large enough to comfortably house more than a dozen astronauts in Low Earth Orbit. While its main competitor, the International Space Station, a Taiyinese led venture, has already started research operations in orbit, it has yet to be fully assembled.

Throughout the 1980s, the Tarazedian Directorate has been consistent in its opposition towards Taiyinese space launches, and committed to bringing the launch apparatus of TASERED back to the forefront of research and development so as to not grant the Dragon an edge in what could be a new start to the space race.

Why are ICARUS and PROMETHEUS so controversial?
The Tarazedian space program is the only space program using launch vehicles driven by pulsed nuclear propulsion to launch material into space. Pulsed nuclear propulsion is the process of literally blasting a starship off the Earth on the shockwaves of micro-nuclear explosions. The exact specifics of the warheads which propel the ICARUS and PROMETHEUS spacecraft are classified, a rare move for the usually transparent TASERED, and have been since the 50s. These shockwaves are then absorbed by a special pusher plate at the rear of the spacecraft, propelling it upwards with each successive blast.

As each launch usually requires hundreds of explosions, they are viewed by international critics, most notably Taiyin, as being environmentally damaging due to nuclear fallout released during the launch stage. The Tarazedian government have denounced such claims as scaremongering, stating that each launch would only be responsible for the deaths of 1/100th of a person - far less than the nuclear tests of the 50s and 60s. It is widely viewed by the Tarazedian scientific community that nuclear pulsed propulsion is well worth the potential risks given the massively increased lifting capability.

Is the launch safe?
The only accidents with the PROMETHEUS design occured during early testing and were mainly driven by shortcomings in what was possible to engineer at the time, subsequent advancements and refinements in the design theory behind nuclear propelled spacecraft have been applied to the ICARUS launch vehicle. It is projected that the forthcoming launch will be the mathematically safest that TASERED has ever done - and it will have to be, for the Imperial Star will be the most populated launch that TASERED has ever attempted.

How will the Imperial Star influence the politics of spaceflight?
The Imperial Star has primarily served the purpose for the Tarazedian government of being an anti-Taiyinese bulwark, as a statement that an ever expansive Taiyin does not need to be given the reins of world power, and indeed should not be given the reins of world power.

The Tarazedian Government has been outspoken against the almost insidious way the Taiyinese have infiltrated the western sphere since the Sagarotaiyinese War, gradually attaining more power as the years have gone by.

It is hoped by many in Daramonty City, that the successful launch of the Imperial Star will draw a line in the sand.

< Continued on next page: Page 1 of 8 >

Tarazedian Senate votes to allow public protests to assemble without threat of police crackdown for the first time since the Sagarotaiyinese War, Senate Spokesman adamant that the domestic threat posed by “influences of the dragon” were once again minimal for the first time in decades.

Director Damion White signs a series of legislative bills which open up the path to citizenship for many Asian immigrants.

Tarazedian Biocompany reports that government research grants “key” for livestock sustainability research.

Have a nuclear new year, Tarazedian Energy Think Tank proclaims as they push for further expansion of Tarazed's civilian nuclear program.

Tarazedian Navy prepares for new exercises ahead of ICARUS launch date.

Tarazedian Military Officials “concerned” over neighbouring powder keg of Indonesia.

OOC: The Tarazedian Government invests 5 points into Civil Rights, 5 points into Political Rights, and 1.63 points into Livestock Sustainability.

Jan 1st 1990

Neo Orleans was always chilly this time of year, George Watson at 80 years old, should not be out here. Yet his glass box offered him a good view of the event. But as President of the Confederate Councils, he must attend this new years celebration. Another year had passed and oppression had not returned to the people. He had offered them another year of freedom. Tanks rolled across the pavement as children called out, a marching bad played the national anthem, different officers were seen from the tanks saluting the people.

Meanwhile next to him sat other ranking officials, the lieutenant governor of Neo Orleans, Robert Murray he was a young spritely man. A big believer in George Watson programs and policies. If Watson needed something done, Robert always seemed like the man who able to do it. And they had met, he was only a clerk in the Army.

Then there was Dominic Kennedy, grandson of a slave, General of Western forces in Texas and Pima. While he had not seen combat, he constantly participated in wargames both here and with the other members of the UWRF. If there was a conflict anywhere in the world in the past 30 years, he had been there observing. The frontliner for who would take charge after Watson.

Behind him, sitting quietly was another man, Cody Fraser. He had a bit of a shadow haunting him, his family supported the oppressors during the glorious revolution. Yet he had made a name for himself, and now was the man in charge of the Council's Treasury. The go to man for any economic event. While Watson and him frequently butted heads, it had been done constructively.

George was old, he had not put in the effort to make sure the PCCA would continue his legacy after he died. Perhaps he should begin working on such, but he did not think he could best these players, all of whom wanted his throne.

Central News Network

Facts Over Fiction.
Janurary 1st, 1990

"Good Evening I'm Christopher Ingolo." "And I'm Julia LeBlanc, this is Central New Network with today's headlines... Our top headline, Prime Minister Xavier Leke is sworn in after the International Workers party has won their third consecutive election, forming a coalition government with the Pan-African Party and several other parties to confirm his party's victory against the oppositional Workers' Union Party. Prime Minister Leke has decided not to conduct an inauguration speech and instead spent the day visiting the memorial to the victims of the recent terror attack conducted by South Africa in Namibia." "Yes Prime Minister Leke took time during the memorial to condone the actions of the South African government, and promises swift justice in the face of these actions."

PM Leke: [The Central African Union] will seek retribution... The South Africans have decided to not only spit on the 1959 Peace Agreement but have decided to use our civilians, our children, as targets for their terror. Do be mistaken, this is an terror attack by a rogue state. A rogue state that oppresses the true people of Africa, even in the face of condemnation after condemnation after condemnation. We have tried peace, we have tried negotiations, we have tried economic sanctions... But it becomes clear that beasts only understand the end of a rod. This is not a fight about capitalists and communists, this is a fight for the liberation of our land and the end of the subjection of the African people.

"Army General Mattheu Garnier has confirmed that the Army Corp of Engineers has begun construction of bomb shelters as well as updating the CAAF's missile defense systems, in the event of another attack by foreign governments... In domestic news, the Ministry of Defense has stated that the increase in attacks against the Christian community in Mali and Bangui is following a disturbing trend of extremism by the Islamic community."

Minster of Defense, Akanni Nasri: We have noticed that a trend amongst the Sunni youth, while the attacks against churches and Christian community centers hasn't resulted in deaths as of late, a man was seriously injured after an improvised explosive prematurely detonated in an discarded backpack near a community center. The suspect was apprehended but we fear that this is the beginning of a serious development. We ask cooperation with the Muslim leadership, here and abroad, to determine a solution to this surge. We, as a nation, must cure the disease of extremism before people are killed.

"That's all the time we have now, stay tuned for more news as we update you on the hour. Thank you and Happy New Year."

Un Giorno Nuova

Firenze, State of Toscana, the Federal Kingdom of Italy

The hills were shrouded with clouds, with the occasional ray of sunlight breaching the thick cloud cover. The streets were covered with snow, the snowflakes floating down from the sky and caking the ground. The bells of the Cathedral rocked the earth, audible from the heart of Firenze to the surrounding villages in the Fiume Arno’s valley. The sun’s luminosity, when it peered through the cloud cover, showed the immense contradictions in the old town and the new commercial and industrial heart of Firenze. The vivid rays glinted off the steel and glass of the new downtown, shining light on both the heart of the industrial and financial prowess of the valley. Yet, the luminous beams glimmered off the marble of Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, shining a brilliant and divine light on the old town of the city.

On any normal day, the rising of the sun would entail so much more than just a new day. The billowing steam from the factories, the chaos of the local markets, the roads bustling with motor vehicles and pedestrians, the bells marking the opening and closing of the stock markets, and so many other occurrences of day to day life in Firenze were all by products of the rising sun. Today, however, was different. Firenze stood near perfectly still, save for the snow gently falling from the sky and gracing the sidewalks and streets. No factories churned out products, no cars flying down the roads, no markets bustled with consumers purchasing varying goods from local farmers, nothing. Today was, in fact, a special day for not only Firenze, but all of Italia.

Il Giorno Del Nuovo Anno. New Year’s Day. A day to celebrate the ushering in of the new year, and for this year, the ushering in of a new decade. For many Italians, today was a day of celebration. Many would spend their day preparing for the day’s pranzo, the main meal of the day being served around noon, and would carry on for several hours beyond. Many people across the nation will take today’s pranzo to do more than eat, but to spend much needed time with loved ones, reflect on the old year, and embrace the new year, whatever it may bring. Many shopowners and workers would only work for a few hours today, and many will have gone home by midday to spend the remainder of the holiday with close friends and family.

1990 was an especially significant year, not only for Firenze or Toscana, but for all of Italia. A new decade promised new opportunities for the nation in trade, science, economics, and politics. The 1990 General Election, due to be held in October, would decide Italy’s political destiny for the next several years, following a heated contest between the National Democrats and the Federalists, Socialists, and many other political factions. The economy was on the brink of prosperity, the product of the economic miracle that ensued following the 1948 Constitution; and the close cooperation of Italy with Galasie, Osphen, and Scotatrova through the Latin Bloc, and many other nations through the League of Free Nations. Vast infrastructure and energy products, new educational programs, scientific research, and many more advancements would be made in this decade. Many even hoped that this decade would even see a further closing of the divide between the North and South, strengthening the Italian nation.

Though, with great prosperity would come great challenges. The evil that was communism had encroached its way onto nearly every continent on the planet, jeopardizing the peace, freedom, and prosperity that Italy had enjoyed for many decades following the country’s peaceful transition to a democratic and capitalist mode of governance. Many Italians of all walks of life questioned the dangers of the old pagan empires in the east, seemingly committed to spreading their influence into the western world. Even within Italy, the challenges seem significant and mounting. Corruption at every level of government was a plague upon the nation. The varying clans of mafiosi battled for territory all over the south and Sicilia, in a style almost primitive and tribal in nature. Industry and infrastructure needed to be rebuilt and repaired, the hardworking farmers needed needed modern farming tools, and the armed services needed to be rebuilt after years of military decay.

Many Italians looked eagerly to the future to embrace the dreams of tomorrow. This would be a decade of many things, from triumphant victories and melancholic setbacks. Of new economic and engineering feats, cultural advancements, and political developments For now, however, none of that mattered. All that was in the focus of Italian society was celebration and joy. For today was a new day, a new year, and a new decade. And soon enough, Italy would welcome a new millennium.

Viva Italia!!

The coronation of Paul II to the throne of the Serkarian emp

January 1st, 1990 CE

>After the death of the 89 year old Empress Olga II on the 30th of December 1989 the throne has been laying empty with no monarch for a full day now due to the coronation being officially postponed until the 1st of January to celebrate the traditional Serkarian holiday of New Years. Now that the old year is behind, 23 year old Paul II and Serkaria are stepping into uncertain times for all monarchies around the world, but hopefully Serkaria and it's allies in the Isfahan pact can maintain relevance in the ever changing landscape of the world and perhaps even bring about a new age of prosperity.

>After the ceremony was complete Paul II and Ormized shook hands before going off to a private conference room to discuss the future course that Serkaria and the Isfahan pact will take for the next few coming years. While it is not known what the talks themselves contained, it is generally known that Serkaria was a few years ago looking into possibly establishing a military base in Azerbaijan, a colony of the Arascid empire. Once the talks were finished the Arascid emperor handed to Paul II a sword of Ervin Al-Hashimi the previous Shanshah who installed the current technocratic government of Arascid.

Jan 3rd 1990

George Watson walked to his desk, he had to rely on his cane a bit. Another rough day for him, not how he was wanting to start the year. His doctor was confident that this latest medicine will help. The old man sat down at his desk, he was already tired, yet the day had just began. Rumors were starting to fly, he knew how it worked, he remembered the last few months of the Reverend. Damn cancer, if only it could wait a little longer.

Looking at his desk, at the top of the paper was a report on Indonesia. Watson couldn't help but wonder if this one was put on top on purpose. Was his secretary being convinced somehow to favor Dominic Kennedy over the others. He shook his head, he had to shake such thoughts, and focus on job. Here was a chance to help protect the freedom the Indonesian people had fought so hard for. The report concluded that the PCCA should offer to help train the Indonesians, send officers, training equipment, the whole stick. Turn the Indonesians into a real army.

Watson shook his head, Cody was sure to dislike this idea, the expenses he would complain about. But Dominic was right, they needed to help the Indonesians secure their freedoms, at any moment the oppressive forces of the League or Isfahan could decide to assist the Monarchy and the capitalists. But he wouldn't do it Dominic way, unilaterally.

Watson wrote an order to direct Robert Murray to contact the Taiyinese and work out an agreement to which they can jointly help the Indonesians. It would be done with Taiyinese permission or not at all. Dominic would have to deal with that.

People Across the World Celebrate the New Year

Source: Xinhua| 1990-1-01 18:24|Editor: Lu Hui

In a time of great global change, a new year begins. The citizens of the world celebrate many new beginnings. On this day, Serkarians and Central Africans celebrate their new heads of states, with Serkarians welcoming a new emperor, Paul II, ascending to the throne formerly held by the late empress Olga II, and Central Africans welcoming their Prime Minister, Xavier Leke, for his third consecutive term.

All, however, is not well in the world. With the recent turmoil in Acuisia dividing the League of Free Nations, many fear for conflict in the region. In Africa, the Central African Union has promised retribution against South Africa following an attack on students in Namibia. Having taken an aggressive stance, the new Prime Minister declared it a "terror attack by a rogue state." Defensive preparations are already reportedly being made. Concurrently with the incident, the Ministry of Defense has reported a rising trend in Islamic Extremism among the youth.

Despite these increasingly worrying issues, Premier Zhang Zuocheng has remained firm in his belief of great achievements in the year 1990. Among these are the breakthrough completion of the Beidou-3 system, as well as further and final additions to the International Space Station Peace. Furthermore, in a statement released last night, the Premier emphasized further cooperation with allies in preventing conflict in Indonesia, and sought to achieve a peaceful resolution to the situation by the end of the year.

President Gao Xiuying spoke at the Great Hall of the People this morning, addressing a global audience.
Comrades, friends, ladies and gentlemen,

The year 1990 has arrived. From Taiyin's capital Beijing, I would like to extend my New Year wishes to you all!

In 1989 we made great leaps and bounds, building on the achievements and hard work of all.

However, following recent developments, many have become anxious about our safety. As celebrations continue, we must not forget the tireless work of many remain at their posts, safeguarding our peace and sovereignty.

With distinct possibilities for the new year, anxiety prevails. No matter what turn events take, Taiyin is determined to safeguard the development of socialism and democracy. Human history, like a river, runs forever, witnessing both peaceful moments and great disturbances. Storms, danger, and barriers do not deter us. Whatever the challenge may be, we shall continue towards the future. This year is only our next step. Let us embrace it, live it to the fullest, and greet the arrival of the the year 1990 together. I wish you all a happy new year!

"A revolution is not a dinner party, or writing an essay, or painting a picture, or doing embroidery. It cannot be so refined, so leisurely and gentle, so temperate, kind, courteous, restrained and magnanimous. A revolution is an insurrection, an act of violence by which one class overthrows another." ~ Mao Zedong

CSS Headquarters.
January 3rd, 1990. 9:22am
Director General Cedric Schofield sat at the end of the Blackwood table, hands neatly folded as he looked onward towards the projection on the wall. To his left was an aid, his right, two guards, and in front of him were 4 senior agents all tasked with a different region of the world that was within the CAU' scope to spread it's influence and or destabilize. He took a sip of his lukewarm coffee and sighed quietly to himself.

"Comrade Director General Schofield..." One of the agents spoke up, a small framed man with oval framed glasses, Senior Agent LeBlanc. "My report on our efforts in Asia." The Director General was handed a copy of the agent's report, and quickly scanned through it as he gave his little speech. "As of December, our efforts to establish a base of operations in Sagarian have yet bear fruit. There have been issues with involving our agents in their internal matters, specifically when it comes to breaking their racial hegemony. While we continue our efforts, we have yet to rule out the use of native people recruited through our network." Schofield nodded a little, pushing his pen at the status of Japan.

"And what of the Japanese sector?"

"That one has given us more fruitful results. As of January 1st, our Agents have successfully made contact with the Japanese Communist Party and have begun coordinating with them. Our agents are operating as a storage freight company, which should allow us to transport materials into the country without much worry of detection." Schofield smiled a little at that news and nodded more enthusiastically, to which LeBlanc bowed a small amount before sitting down as the Director General stood up.

"My comrades... Do you know what the name of this building is?" He started to walk towards the projection on the world, the agents remained silent until his aid said something.

"T... The Henry Amon Center of Intelligence Facility? Comrade Director General?" The Director General paused and gestured towards the young aid.

"The Doctor Henry Amon Center of Intelligence... We conduct our missions, our goals, our dreams, in the shadow of his legacy. Our duty, not only as socialists, or syndicalists, or communist or anarchists... But as compassionate human beings, is to seek the liberation of all people from the claws and clutches of capitalism... We alone can do this, we are the wealthiest nation not by metric of capital and exports... But of culture and ideals. It is our duty to spread these ideals wherever there is injustice against the worker. That is what our forefathers did, that is what we will do and in time that is what the generations ahead of us will do as well. My comrades..." He raises a glass on the small table beside the projection, filled to the brim with dark Tunisian spirit, "we have much work to do, and we will see to that our mission of global liberation is seen."

Dodoma, United Syndicates of Tanzania
January 3rd. 12:19am
Fatima sat at the bench beside her local mosque and examined the envelope in her lap, fiddling with the lip as the anxiety started to build over time. Was this a mistake? Maybe I can just call this off, I could just blame it on me not being in the right state of mind I... No no... I must see this through... She rubbed her head, just as an older man, somewhere in his mid 60's, found a spot beside her on the bench. He turned to her and tipped his straw farming hat towards her with a gentle smile.

"Fatima, is that correct?" She nodded and slid him the envelope, which he took with a slow move, as if to announce that the envelope was safe in his possession. "Now tell me what has been going on here recently?" He took out a pipe and lit it with a disposable lighter, tapping his chest to activate a hidden recorder.

"It is... Many things. It didn't seem such a bad thing at first, people have always been more vocal about their faith here, especially considering where we are." She took a bit of cloth from her headscarf and fiddled with it in her hand. "The Ba'ath party leadership have a strong hold of this region, many of the youth have voted for them while the older among us still believe in what this country was founded on... But lately the... The leader of the party, Ikram al-Wakim has begun to express more... extreme positions."

"Ikram... He was a former Imam correct?" She nodded as the old man opened the envelope, it was filled with manuscripts of phone calls and pictures of the former Imam with men, mostly teenagers, armed with weapons. "Hm... This is good evidence."

"There is more, but I feel as though they have caught on to me... I am not as trusted as I once was. However I was able to a copy of a file on his computer, transactions between him and an unknown person. A lot of money being transferred to." She slide the grey floppy disk towards him and he snatched it up once it crossed the line between them. He nodded and scanned the area, it was busy but he could spot a few men at the mosque giving them side eye glances. "What will the government do?" He looked at her and gave an honest answer.

"The best path forward is to remove Al-Wakim... Put him away as an example to those who would follow his path to separatism... As for you? We'll ensure that your safety is guaranteed, as is customary." He kept the real answer to himself, a lie by omission. The truth was the government has always been looking for a reason to remove the Ba'athists from the country, and this would be the perfect solution to do so and to restrict some political freedoms along the way. He stood up and offered a hand to her, to which she accepted and stood up beside him. He leaned in close and whispered into her ear, "My men will be in the dark grey van, if trouble seems imminent do not hesitate to signal to them." He could feel the relief wash over her as she nodded and bowed towards him. He bowed his head, taking his hat off as they parted separate ways. The woman vanished into the crowd while the old man entered a white car and leaned back into it.

"How was the meeting?" His driver spoke up, to which the old man chuckled slightly, holding the floppy.

"My job is normally a tricky one, but sometimes my dinner falls on my plate without me having to hunt it down..."

The construction of the Serkarian air base in Azerbaijan

Postby The Neo Russ Republic » Thu Nov 19, 2020 10:23 am

5th of January, 1990 CE

>The rumours of Serkaria considering constructing a military base have been now confirmed by Andrey Mirlanov, the secretary of defence of Serkaria. During the press meeting, while talking about how the army of Serkaria will be reorganised and modernised, he mentioned the construction of military bases abroad as part of the Isfahan defence initiative, when questioned further about the location of said bases Andrey only disclosed the one under development in Azerbaijan.

>The said military base, currently under construction near the city of Gabala, would act as an airbase for the Serkarian and Isfahan air force. The airbase is located between the very strategically important minor and major Caucasus mountains which have been acting as a border between Serkaria and the Middle East for more than 100 years now, this position would makes it very difficult to conquer the base by any foe trying to advance into the European part of Serkaria, securing the region from any small scale threats aimed at Serkaria or it's allies in the Isfahan pact.

Taiyinese Embassy, Neo Orleans, PCCA

Robert Murray stood near a window smoking, the embassy had a good view of the Mississippi river. He tossed his cigarette butt into a nearby trash can. He really needed to stop smoking, he himself had helped start an anti-smoking campaign a couple years ago and had to hide his smoking since then.

Robert turned at the sound of the doors opening, to see ambassador Zhu Qizhen. It was not the first time they had spoken. Together the two had helped negotiate many agreements between the Taiyinese and Amalians. This should be an easy agreement. Indonesians were still a new front to the civil war, but the decolonization era, or the Liberation Era as President Watson has called it, has opened many fronts for the revolution.

“Thank you for taking the time to meet with me today,” Robert began as he shook hands with Zhu, “The President would like to discuss a united policy between the PCCA and Taiyin over Indonesia and it’s freedom from oppressors.”

Having taken a seat, Zhu responded, “Of course. Taiyin believes it is in the best interests of the people of Indonesia to seek a peaceful resolution. However, military action is not ruled out.”

“Indeed, if that is the wishes of Taiyinese, Amalia will respect that,” Robert replied, “but there are some amongst us that do not believe the capitalists will accept that. Or that such is unfruitful. I, though, remain optimistic and trust in our comrades across the Pacific.”

“Whether they accept or not is their decision. We shall remain firm in our stance. Cooperation is in the interest of all in uniting the divided nation.” said Zhu, firmly. “We do not represent the peoples of Indonesia, nor even their allies. Dialogue should involve all parties, as well as those with interests in the region such as Sagarotaiyin and Tarazed.”

Robert smiled, “Yes I agree, we can offer to mediate the issue with all parties involved, but nonetheless, the President still urges that we begin training Indonesians, even should these talks be successful their military will still need some improvements.”

“Of course.” Zhu nodded, “Their national sovereignty must be protected. While I’m sure many would be opposed to deployments of foreign troops, I do not doubt that they will welcome foreign assistance.”

“Alright then let us draft a message inviting interested parties to such a meeting,” Robert concluded happy of another successful meeting.

To the Nations of Tarazed, SUSEA, Thailand, and the Indonesian governments.
The nations of the People’s Confederate Councils of Amalia and People’s Republic of Taiyin wish to conduct a meeting to discuss the conflict in Indonesia and help unify this divided nation and bring lasting peace to the region.

The Port at Genova

Italy's Department of Commerce announced today the signing of several major import deals to be executed during 1990. Between Tarazed, Ismeil, and Iberia's Colony in Chile, Italy is set to import several hundreds of millions of Auroes worth of copper, aluminum, iron, coal, natural gas, oil, and even uranium from the three nations. Lacking in naturally occurring resources that are exceptional in quality, Italy has been forced to turn to friends in Europe, Africa, Oceania, and even in the Americas in order to acquire the raw materials necessary to strengthen it's economy in recent years. However, this increased level of exporting goods arguably yields benefits to all nations involved, as the Italians have gained the necessary resources to bulk up it's economy, and it's partners have often received a wide range of products in return.

Italy's Secretary of Commerce, Augusto Cattaneo, made the following statement in regards to the signed trade agreements:

"Today' marks the signing of one of, if not the largest, trade deals in the history of the Federal Kingdom of Italy. We are ever happy to work with our economic partners to build a new and prosperous tomorrow that we all gain wealth from."

While the trade deals signed today for sure have a significant impact on Italy's international trade, it is uncertain how significant the impacts will be on the domestic economy in the near future. Several economists, including those who work for the Department of Commerce, argue that we will not see the true ramifications of the newly signed trade deals until the upcoming fiscal year, 1991. Yet, many are hopeful that the signed agreements will produce nothing except positive economic benefits for the Italian nation and the Italian people.

Italy trades the following for the year 1990:
  • Tarazed: 0.5 Copper, 1.5 Aluminum, 2 Iron, 0.5 Uranium, 0.5 Natural Gas (for 2 Development Points)
  • Ismeil: 2 Iron, 1 Oil, 1 Natural Gas, 1 Coal (for 3 Development Points)
  • Chile: 2.55 Copper (for 1 Development Point)

In other news: Today the 16th marks the prophet Mani's birthday. A description of his deeds is actively studied during this time of the year.

Mani, the founder of Manichaeism, was born in 216 ce in Parthian Babylonia, a region located in Mesopotamia. During the time of Mani's youth, multiple religious traditions converged and interacted in Mesopotamia, creating a religiously diverse environment. As a result, Mani would have encountered a variety of religious traditions from an early age, such as Christianity, Zoroastrianism, Buddhism, Babylonian mythology, and local Iranian religions. While some of the religions originated in Mesopotamia, many travelled along the commercial networks that passed through the region. For example, Babylonian ports became primary access points for people travelling to India and other areas in the East.

His universalist view for all livings thing and dualistic sentiments was adopt into the Arascidi imperial family and subsequently the Arascidi family became the inheritors of the faith and subsequent Saoshyants of Manicheanism.

All Arascidis must remember the peaceful nature of Mani and one must not pollute the earth or the sacred fire with any bodily fluids. Jain, Buddhist, Christian, Islamic, Zunibilist, Hindu, Animist and Aramic religious traditions are required to be learned as a member of Manichean community to better understand the enlightened Mani.

The farming subsidies

Postby The Neo Russ Republic » Fri Nov 20, 2020 8:10 pm

Image

15th of January, 1990 CE

>The Serkarian government has decided to expand the agricultural economic sector through the use of subsidies and easing some of the tight regulations on small businesses. The reason behind this is that the Serkarian government has set a goal to reach one million active military personnel by the year 2000 and if the farming sector isn't expanded it could lead to malnutrition of the armed forces.

>Antonov Lardvigov, the minster of the Science of Serkaria, has proposed the use of GMO's (Genetically Modified Organism) to fulfil the demand, while GMO's are known to be potentially able to grow in harsh climates such as Siberia and could increase crop yields they aren't without their critics. Vsevolod Armichiev, the minister of Agriculture, has stated numerous times before that GMO's are too dangerous and expensive claiming that they would need further research and testing before being used in standard farming.

Central News Network

17 Janvier 1990
17:05

"Good Evening I'm Christopher Ingolo." "And I'm Julia LeBlanc, this is Central New Network with today's headlines... Our top headline, Prime Minister Xaiver Leke and his Minister of Transportation, Salehe Hart, have announced the beginning of a bold new initiative to boost the CAU into the new century ahead." "Yes that's correct, the new project unveiled today reveals a 5 year plan to initially create high speed railway between Kropotkin City and Lagos, then expanding out to every major city in the Union. The project was approved by the Communal House last week and this week Parliament voted in a 799 to 100 vote to confirm it and it's budget of 190 Billion USD (Union Standard Dollar). Once the line is completed, the government will begin to do a stead rollout, all connecting to the original line until the entire nation is linked together." "The construction is scheduled to begin this month, and is reported to end sometime in December with no delays. The Union of Train Workers Association has already been announced their elation with the new deal and it's leadership has said that the "Union is ready to get to work."

Construction of Kropotkin/Lagos Line.

"And finally, Chairman of the Afrikaan Socialist Baʽath Party and several high and low ranking members, as well as several members of Parliament, have all been arrested on grounds of treason as newly emerged evidence has been unearthed."

Image
Several of the high ranking members being escorted by Communal Military Police and Counter-Terror Task Forces.

"In a dramatic and stunning turn of events, the Chairman and former Imam, Ikram al-Wakim, has been arrested due to evidence tying him and his party to the surge of violence by members of the Islamic community in Tanzania and Kenya. The evidence and severity of the crime being committed as has lead the Central government to urge Parliament to vote to permanently ban the party from government, as well as banning any and all religiously affiliated parties. This evening Parliament and the Communal House both convened, and while Parliament voted against the measure by a slim majority, the tie breaker came after the Union Leaders voted unanimously to counter the vote and move it to the Central Government. In the Communal House, the measure was argued for and against for hours but the majority of the House agreed for the Act. Prime Minister Xavier Leke will be signing the Act into law, enforcing the government's secular stance and furthering the divide between church and state.

"That's all we have for tonight, please stay tuned for more news and programs, from the CNN headquartes in Lagos, this has been the news. Good Evening and Good Day.

Putting all 14 development points into Infrastructure, and asking to lower political freedoms by 10 points.

Wyndham Castle, United Kingdom of Great Eilean and Strathland

1st January, 1990

"Right this way, your Majesty." the producer gestured to the fitted silken seat, standing before a painting of King Edmund IX next to the Crown of Sagaria. He gave a smile, one that read "Please don't get me canned" more than genuine kindness or affection.
Into the room stepped a small lady, pushing into her sixties, her hair slowly but surely giving way to the sea of grey and white. Dressed in a simple white dress with a blue sash of the Order of Saint Paul, a pearl necklace around her sagging neck, and a tiara made from the finest Serkarnian gems.
Her Royal and Imperial Majesty Gloriana III Brunay-Bonbry, by the Grace of God Queen of Great Eilean, Strathland and the Eileanic Dominions across the Sea, Empress of Sagaria, Defender of the Roman Catholic Church.
"I still don't understand why you're doing this New Years day speech, it's damned silly and won't get us anything but 'Oh look, The Queen is patronizing us again' hmpf" grumbled the Queen's Consort, William Duke of Elginsburg. He glared at the TV staff on hand, loitering in the Drawing room of the ancient Brunay-Bonbry Keep, thinking this was simply just ludicrous.
"Well William, the last I checked, the Eileanic People feel in touch with their government and Sovereign. One could say that's more than your homeland. Ja, Wilhelm?" the Queen smiled back at her husband, shuffling over to her seat. All the while her consort looked at her, choking on his words looking for a comeback.
"Oh, don't take it too personal William. We know you're a true son of the Isles and not a Hun" Dowager Queen-Empress Mary snidely said to her son in law, with a twinge of endearment as she sipped on a glass of brandy.
"Quiet now your Royal Highnesses" the Producer said politely with a bow, as the Queen sat down, and leaned over to the desk nearby and Faux-Writing.
"Broadcast begins in Three... Two..." a cameraman said, before directing two fingers towards the Queen.
The Queen-Mother and Duke of Elginsburg looked towards a television on EBC 1, which faded from an Amalia Soda-Pop commercial to a screen, the Royal Standard flying over Suffingham Palace with a bolded text of A message from Her Majesty, the Queen! before once again the screen fades out, and into the drawing room, the Queen-Empress scribbling what appears to be a Royal Edict. She places her pen down and looks to the camera, placing her hands on her lap.
"Hello to you all, and Happy New Years wherever you may be. Be it the sandy shores of Polynesia, to the forests of Amalia or the bustling metropolises of the Orient. We wish you the best this new year, and decade. We, to celebrate our Thirty Sixth Anniversary as Sovereign of the Empire and Head of the Commonwealth, are most happy to announce that in these upcoming months an Imperial Tour, in which we wish to see the far corners of the Empire, from Edmundstown, to Singapore. Daramonty City, to Bombaim. A Royal Progress, if you will. Of how the light of civilization is stretching across the globe in this new day and age, of computerization and globalization." the Queen smiled, motherly yet regal.
"And to further show that our Empire is still as magnificent as it was under my Father, my Grandfather, and even my Great Great Grandmother and namesake, we intend to sail aboard the new flagship of the Royal Navy, the HMS Empress of Sagaria. May the new year bring you all peace and prosperity, and our empire stability and tranquility. May God bless you all." The Queen smiled, the feed fading out and being replaced with the Royal Sign-off featuring Her Majesty and the anthem of the Empire.
"Is it over now? Thank God, I thought the damn thing would never cease." William muttered, as the Queen-Mother flicked his legs.
"Now Now William, we don't say any thing like that about you. To your face at least" she smiled again as Gloriana stood up from her seat, the TV-staff clapping and bowing to their sovereign. All the while, the Queen straightened out her dress, and walked over to her family. "Alright, tea time anyone?" she asked politely, her mother held out the brandy while her husband simply nodded.

Local Farm in Heart of Toscana

The Farmers and Ranchers of Italy enjoyed a great victory today in the halls of the Federal District of Roma, as the ”Atto di Modernizzazione Agricola del 1990” (The Agricultural Modernization Act of 1990)[i] was passed in both the Senate and the Parliament with significant support. The AMA Bill, in essence, aims to modernize the agricultural sector in Italy through significant federal investments into technologies and education related to the agricultural sector. The goal of the AMA Bill, in essence, is to ensure Italy’s agricultural sector is [i]”top of the line, and competitive with the rest of the world by the end of the decade,” according to Secretary of Agriculture Giampaolo Mariani. ”The programs laid out in the Atto will automatically renew for the next ten years, and will expire on Janaury 1st 2000, if not renewed by the Senate and Parliament,” according to Segretario Mariani.

The most significant grant set up by the AMA is the expansion of agricultural grants received by the FUSI System. The Federal University System of Italy, FUSI, is a chain of technical colleges specializing in the study of agricultural, industrial, and mechanical studies; and was established in 1966. Since then, the FUSI System has opened campuses across the country in cities such as Napoli, Palermo, Cagliari, in addition to nine other campuses across the nation. Under the AMA Bill, the FUSI System is now able to receive additional grants from the Federal Government for agricultural programs, therefore lowering the costs of attaining the higher education for the farmers and ranchers that serve as the backbone of the Italian agricultural industry.

In addition to expanded investments into the FUSI System, the AMA Bill grants funds for the Department of Agriculture to secure contracts with large manufacturing firms such as Fiat and Iveco to produce modern farming equipment such as tractors, tanker trucks, cattle trucks, and grain trucks. Farmers and ranchers will then be able to purchase new mechanical equipment from the Department of Agriculture with interest-free loans, in addition to receiving training on how to use the newly acquired equipment.

Many politicians in the Parliament on both sides celebrated the passage of the AMA Bill as a major step in improving relations between the factions that have divided Roma. The Federalisti led center left coalition, led by incumbent President Salvatore Provenza, as well as the Democratici led right wing coalition, commanded by Prime Minister Angela Kovicic, had collaborated remarkably well to deliver results for the hardworking farmers and ranchers of Italy, according to La Nazione Political Correspondent Maria Russo. La Nazione’s political correspondents theorize that the increased level of cooperation between the left and ring wing coalitions will slowly break down over the next several months, however, as the General Election in October looms closer and closer. Regardless of what the future holds, however, the Italian people can celebrate a great victory for the farmers and ranchers today.

  • 2.00 points (livestock sustainability)

20th of January

"Good Evening I'm Christopher Ingolo." "And I'm Julia LeBlanc, this is Central New Network with today's headlines... Our top headline, the government has announced today that as of the 30th of this month, the CAAF will halt all nuclear weapons tests whilst also canceling planned tests with members of the United Workers Revolutionary Front." "The Prime Minister Xavier Leke spoke to reporters today alongside the Minister of Defense and Minister of Nuclear Energy, to announce the end of the tests whilst also paying back those who were affected by the resulting fallout. Employees from the Ministry of Health and from the Lagos Institute of Nuclear Technology have begun to survey potential fallout areas, and contacting villages, tribes and potentially even cities affected by years of prolonged nuclear testing."

Nuclear test of the "W77 Hyena" in mid-November, the last the test in 1989. The ICBM was launched from the People's Republic of Senegal to an undisclosed testing site in the Indian Ocean to test long range capabilities.

"My administration, and the administrations of the past, have failed you, the people of our great Union. We were told by experts that the tests were safe and far from populated areas but we gravely underestimated it. Under my leadership, we will begin to recompense the people affected, from monetary repayments to expanded priority treatment for illness caused by radiation. Bone cancer has spiked in certain regions, and we will act fast to curtail it's spread. Starting today, with the help of local organizations, have begun a nationwide bone marrow drive. We ask all able bodied and healthy individuals to donate, to help not only their fellow comrades but the union as a whole."

"That's all we have for tonight, please stay tuned for more news and programs, from the CNN headquartes in Lagos, this has been the news. Good Evening and Good Day.

"Hello, this is Victor Winfred speaking... May I help you?"
"Oh I'm sorry I thought this was the number for the Malaysian Embassy."
"... Okay the line is secure."
"What is the status of our operatives in South Africa?"
"Good, they are integrated into Parliament in various states as of now, two have infiltrated the South African Armed Forces, and another has made begun their attempt into the Department of Energy."
"Is that so... Very well, keep us posted and the money will keep flowing."
"Excellent, I will say this whole plan was interesting to say the least..."
"In what way?"
"I just find it interesting that a smaller nation like South Africa would even dare attempt to throw a stone at the den of the Red Lion. It is... Very convenient for the CAU don't you think?"
"... Yes, very interesting indeed. We need not further express our interest in this idea. Your payment will arrive as expected, with an additional bonus for getting our agents into those tough to reach places."
"All for the name of a free world."
"Yes indeed comrade Winfred. May we speak again soon, I plan on coming down soon."
"Good, I'll serve you something from my personal collection."
"Heh, I look forward to it... Terminating the call."

“Top of the hour ladies and gents, I am your host Robert Green with the nightly news for our wonderful Empire. After nearly 2 months of silence the Prime Minister of South Africa has completely denied the allegations of a missile strike against the Central African Union. Is war about to break out in Africa? I’m no fan of their treatment towards the native Africans, but how will this affect our Empire? Furthermore the CAU fights another war against democracy, arresting members of the Afrikaan Socialist Ba-oth, Ba-Ath, Ba-something party. Let this be a warning to never trust socialists with democracy folks.
Across the indian ocean, nations respond to the invite from Taiyin and the Confederates over a meeting to tackle the issue of Indonesia. With the newly crowned Sultan of Indonesia, Hamen, Hamengoo, King Hammy the Tenth taking the step to accept this meeting. Many of his advisors claim this does nothing but legitimize the paramilitary forces ruling over Borneo and Sulawesi. The Sultan has written a letter to the First Minister’s office asking for the meeting to be held in either Singapore or Hong Kong."

EVENT: SOUTH AFRICA RESPONDS

In a conference yesterday, the South African Prime Minister offered his condolences to the Central African Union that happened a week ago, in his statement he denied any involvement that South Africa launched or supported the attack. Further the Prime minister said that these claims were done in order to worsen the CAU-SA relations and that said relations have been at their lowest in 20 years. He concluded his statements saying that South Africa was willing to support CAU efforts to find and take down those who did the attack followed by an appeal to the United Nations for support in this effort. Finally the Prime Minister stated that the mobilization of CAU forces was premature and simply a means of intimidation, but that SA was ready to defend its borders.

AT RISK:
CAU-SA relations: CAU and SA relations could worsen, hurting trade and causing SA to pursue a stronger military, or more allies.

EVENT: ISLAMIC OUTRAGE

Following the arrest of many prominent muslim politicans in the Central African Union, muslims across the nation have taken to the streets to protest the move by the new administration. Politicians in northern Nigeria have denounced the new rules, many stating that they will continue to vote in line with their beliefs, even if their party cannot officially be connected to Islam. Younger muslims have even called for separation from the CAU, but no politician has supported their calls.

AT RISK:
CAU relations with muslims worldwide, increased unrest within CAU driven by pro Islamic groups. Unrest increased until May 17th, possibly further beyond depending on IC actions.

EVENT: Southeast Asia Responds to invitation

The nations of the Socialist Union of Southeast Asia, the Kingdom of Thailand, and the local Indonesian Regimes have all agreed to negotiate a diplomatic solution to the conflict.

AT RISK:
Relationship between the different Indonesian regimes

"Good evening fellow comrades, I am Isabella Bowman with the nightly news. Earlier today President Watson affirmed the People's commitment to the Central African Union, stating 'That those that serve the bourgeois, whether in the name of God or to maintain their ability to oppress, will have a taste of proletariat power!' The President's Administration has called upon South Africa to admit it launched the missile and to immediately make amends for this unwarranted act against the CAU. In other news lieutenant governor Robert Murray spoke earlier today delighted that the governments in Indonesia had accepted his invitation to discussion the oppression happening in Indonesia. Though the oppressors chose to have the meeting be hosted in either Singapore or Hong Kong, where the Eileanic continue to oppress the native people. Robert Murray replied that such was a necessary sacrifice and that should a solution to end the oppression be found their, perhaps it might inspire the natives to throw off their chains as well. We can only hope.
After this commercial break, we'll discuss what you can do to be a better council member with Councilmen of the United Oil Councils, Horace Rogers."

Daramonty City, Tarazed - January 23rd 1990

Damion White looked around the well lit meeting room for the Tarazedian Quorum, a rather spacious room located beneath the Tarazedian Senate Building, as he sat back in his chair. One of his hands hand resting on the lengthy report before him and the other drumming a familiar song quietly against the armrest. The door at the far end of the table opened, drawing the gazes of both the Sub-Director and the Quorum members representing the Navy and the Division of International Relations, and revealed two men in service uniform - both from the intelligence service. All present knew what the implications of what the contents of the folder they promptly passed to the Director where.

The Director took a moment to flick through the folder as the man saluted and left the room.

"Well we're sure as hell not giving the Taiyinese free rein to dictate these negotiations," Director White insisted with a firm tone, as he closed the folder and placed it on the table in front of him, "The Amalians may well be present, but I don't trust them to turna blind eye towards Taiyinese expansion in Asia if it helps them on the homefront. No, we will have a presence at this meeting."

"If we go to this meeting and the Taiyinese end up with a superior footing by the end of it, I don't see the public forgiving our involvement," countered another voice further along the table, "We have enough domestic problems without the insinuation that the government is kowtowing to Taiyin."

"If don't go there is an absolute certainty of Taiyin ending up on top by the end of all this," Direction White countered, "I will not have a united Indonesia serving as a Taiyinese stepping stone into our homefront. We must make sure that the rest of Asia stands with us, and not with Taiyin. We can ill afford another Sagarotaiyin. The best way to this end is for a united Indonesia who is more sympathetic to us and the LFN. Anything else is unacceptable."

"We've been towing this anti-Taiyin line on our own in Asia for some time now," the Sub-Director pointed out, "If we stay isolated in this approach I could see international perception of us turning negative."

"All the more reason to attend, the launch of the Imperial Star will serve as the perfect preamble to our message of Taiyinese containment," Director White sat back in his chair, "More support must come soon though, I won't deny that. There's only so much twenty nine million can do against a billion...We'll keep up our efforts nontheless."

"Most of our models suggest that Taiyinese economic and military domination of Asia is a matter of time by this point without a drastic increase in foreign support for our efforts," another sombre tone added in from across the table, Damion didn't look to see who'd said it.

"Imperial Star has to work..." he said grimly, "Because god help the LFN if it doesn't..."

OOC: Tarazed agrees to send a diplomatic presence to the proposed meeting in Hong Kong or Singapore.

"Good Evening I'm Christopher Ingolo." "And I'm Julia LeBlanc, this is Central New Network with today's headlines... Our top headline tonight, Prime Minister Xavier Leke addresses the nation. Earlier today, the Prime Minister met with student activists protesting in the city of Kano, and now he speaks from 20th Red Rd at the Prime Minister's Estate to the press.

"It is important to remember who we fight for, and we must use our power to reflect that..." The Prime Minister adjusts his tie and sighs. "We acted as reactionaries... We did not wait, we did not listen, and we did not show respect. To that I apologize, to not only my fellow comrades in the government, but to all of our Muslim comrades both here and abroad. We must realize that our enemy is not each other, it is not our faiths, but it is capitalism and the bourgeois. We cannot risk our Great Union, risk the sovereignty of Africa from international capitalists, over this. I spoke to the youth of our nation, I spoke to our faith leaders, the Grand Imams of Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania and Senegal, and together we made concessions and compromises to ensure that our nation does not fall into ruin. Starting today, the 35 Unions that make up Parliament, will be expanded to include 15 more seats. These seats will be proportionally split, between Christian and Muslim faiths, and while the ban on having religious parties in Parliament will be upheld, the voices of our Islamic comrades will be heard. Additionally, the government has allocated development funding to Islamic communities in the CAU, to support them and their needs, and finally, the ban on full body religious wear will be repealed...

These changes will not fix all problems that many of our Muslims brethren feel towards this Union, but we hope that this will begin the long road to healing that this Union needs. Thank you all for your time, and I hope to see you all soon under better circumstances."

"Finally CAAF Commander-In-Chief, Anya Diwali, has responded to South Africa's appeal to the UN as well as their denial of the missile strike that claimed the lives of 20 CAU students from the People's Democratic Republic of the Congo.

"We are not surprised by the tyrannical government of South Africa has denied the attack, we are surprised in how long the nation took in responding to the attack. That is more telling than anything else, for if they admitted to the attack they would not be able to garner sympathizes from any fool that would believe in the crocodile tears of this rogue state. Under my overview, the United Africa Army will NOT move away from the border. We intend to stand our ground, not only for our dead but for the millions of our African comrades who are living under the boot of the Afrikaners. We do not want war, but we will not back down until justice has been given to our grieving and liberation is given to our brethren who remain in bondage. And I will emphasis this one point... Nothing is off the table if our peaceful negotiations turn to War..."

"That's all we have for tonight, please stay tuned for more news and programs, from the CNN headquartes in Lagos, this has been the news. Good Evening and Good Day.

Prime Minister's Manor.
20:38

Xavier Leke looked down at the street from the window of the manor, a glass of some imported whiskey in his hand, as his party chairman came up to him. No words were spoken for a good few minutes as Xavier took a few sips from his glass and then gave a deep sigh.

"You'd think it'd get easier, after 15 years..." He muttered putting his glass down and sitting down behind his desk. A few scattered mementos lined it's edges, from his military medals to a photograph of his eldest daughter graduating from a university in Shanghai. Ludwig nodded and sat down leaned on the side of his desk, producing a cigar for himself and offering it to Xavier, who declined. "It feels like I take one step forward, three steps back..."

"That's the weight of this union of ours comrade Leke, it is the most diverse nation on this Earth, and with it comes all of the penalties." He blew out smoke and coughed slightly. "I for one am looking forward to retirement..." Xavier looked up at his closest confidant with surprise.

"You? Retirement? The bulwark of the IWW retiring at the ripe age of 60? God this world really is coming to an end." Xavier laughed and held his forehead as he leaned back in his chair. "Have you decided what you'll be doing with your life?" Ludwig shrugged and looked at the map.

"I was thinking either move to Sao Tome or... Maybe travel a bit, I've always wanted to visit Japan, I hear it's beautiful in the Spring." He smiles softly and looks at his cigar, and is startled by a hand being placed on his shoulder.

"Welly my friend, if that is the route you wish to take, I can do nothing but wish you the best..." Xavier smiled, removing his hand from Ludwig's shoulder and placed it infront of him. Ludwig looked at the hand and scoffed as he put his cigar down and brought Xavier in for a hug. The two men embraced for a short while, just ruminating in their shared brotherhood before breaking off. Xavier returned to his desk and picked up his glass again. "Have you named your replacement?" Ludwig nodded, prepared for this exchange and took a file out of his coat.

"A young up and comer in the party, former intelligence officer. Fatima Newalla, a young woman with a lot of promise and passion for international syndicalism." Xavier looks at the dossier and looks at her credentials, he rubbed his chin and nodded to all of the commendations that were given to her.

"I like her, she'll be a welcome face in my cabinet, and a good appeal to the younger generation." Ludwig chuckled at the last bit.

"What, you're telling me that we're that so out of touch with the youth of our nation? Personally I think that they are but that's neither here nor there."

"We need idealists in this nation again, we, the old men of the revolution, have lost sight of the ideals of Trotsky, Kropotkin, hell of the great founder of our nation..." He took a swig from his glass and sighed softly. "I think... Perhaps I'll be retiring too, after this term is done. In that case I'll be happy to join you in Kyoto then." He raised a glass and Ludwig raised his cigar. "To the eternal fight, and liberation of our people."

"Amen comrade... Amen."

Suffingham Palace, United Kingdom of Great Eilean and Strathland

26th January, 1990

"And I do so hope that... No no no, that's no good." Gloriana sat at her desk in the Drawing Room, tapping her pen against the desk, looking out the window to grey Wyndham. "Hmmm, and we do so hope in these times..."
brong... brong... brong... the clocks all around the room rang out, causing the Queen to look up. Twelve O'clock it seemed, her Audience was to be here. Quickly she stood up from the desk, straightening out the ruffles in her blue blouse and walked over to a set of chairs and couch, before picking up a small bell and ringing it.
The door opened quickly, and the Lord-Steward walked in, and bowed. "The First Minister, your Majesty." he said, gesturing to the door.
"Thank you Wilson, do send him in." Gloriana smiled, clasping her hands together after placing the bell down on the table besides her.
Through the First Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Eilean and Strathland, and of the Eileanic Empire as a whole. His dark hair greying after years of loyal service to Queen and Country. A man who embodied the beliefs of Montmairism, and Imperialism. Sir Walter Peckingham.
"Your Majesty." The First Minister bowed at the door, before walking towards Her Majesty. "First Minister." Gloriana smiled, stretching out her hand to him.
Peckingham took the Queen's hand and pecked it, before standing back. "How are you today, Walter?" the Queen smiled, sitting down in her seat.
"As well as one can be on such a cold day." The First Minister smiled, sitting down opposite of the Queen. "Oh, well least it's not as cold as it was in 1968." Gloriana laughed softly, folding her hands across her lap.
"Yes, not bone-deep cold yet. Speaking of which ma'am, in '68 the Eileanic infrastructure was strained under too great a burden, we barely survived it, the Rail networks practically froze up. So in turn, my cabinet has drafted up a proposal for a total restoration of the isles infrastructure, with your assent of course." he said, leaning back in his seat. "Of course, I dread riding on the old rail lines from Elginsburg to Wyndham." she chuckled gently, nodding.
"And in other news, as you heard on the EBC yesterday, the East Sagries states, Tarazed and Taiyin have agreed to a meeting for a solution to the conflict in South East Asia. And, they're requesting to using an Eileanic port in the Orient, Singapore or Hong Kong... I see this, as a means of demonstrating Imperial power in the East." Peckingham grinned, putting his hands together, grinning.
"Oh?" the Queen asked curiously, tipping her head. "Yes ma'am. Hold the meeting in Singapore, and show off the full might of the Empire. A Royal Navy gun salute to the Foreign ambassadors and diplomats, the Union Jack flying across the whole city, Imperial Sagarian Guards, show them we are not played out yet." the First Minister said jovially and eagerly. The Queen sat there for a moment, silent and pondering the matter, before nodding.
"The First Minister always has the Crown's support." she smiled, standing up slowly, followed by her Minister.
"First Minister" Gloriana smiled as a means of saying goodbye, ringing the bell again.
"Your Majesty" Peckingham bowed for a final time, before withdrawing from the room walking backwards.
