  3. Telling tales of Grand Moff Odile Vaiken is like me telling tales of the grand exploits of Francis Drake against the Spanish Armada; by no means are Stormtroopers and Imperial Navy officers going to be enraptured by them. If anything, it'd probably lead to distrust because a random guy who has command authority for seemingly no reason is just...spouting stuff about the long-dead.
  4. Proclaiming yourself a successor (and Sith) to a guy not widely known as a Sith is like a US Navy Captain proclaiming to be a Polish Hussar or a French nobleman. People don't immediately follow you for it.
  5. The Rule of Two was not widely known.
The result of this is that I don't see people "swearing fealty" because of your proclamations.

I wasn't suggesting Boba trained him immediately when he was like 3, but further down the line like when he was 10 (12BBY) which makes more sense.

Bio is still to be finished. There will be some fun encounters such as that in it.

Except if you've just been defeated by the Rebellion and your entire state has collapsed around you, looking to examples like Grand Moff Vaiken for an almost direct comparison isn't totally wild. Would it be the only thing to convince the Stormtroopers and Imperial Navy officers that the Hand of the Emperor should be the one they pledge their loyalty to? No. Would it help, yes. I'll be elaborating more on him winning over the troops in the later sections of the bio to come.

The Rule of Two would have been something a Hand of the Emperor was aware of. He wouldn't openly say it's the end of the rule of two much like Darth Bane never proclaimed to the galaxy the rule of two, so I'll amend that bit

Even if your character would be 10, Boba would still be pretty young. Besides that, Hands of the Emperor aren't trained by bounty hunters.

Good.

I look forward to your elaboration.

Good.

Who are they trained by apart from the Emperor then?

I will do that.

Here he is!

Kenobot wrote:I gather we have almost too many Imperials (I mean this is only technically Imperial, but practically independent) now, so this could all be a waste but here we go anyway

WIP - Faction section complete, just finishing off bio

App
Name: Darth Herlucan/ Revar Tulin

Faction Name: The Sith Empire (Imperial 19th Fleet)

Appearance: Darth Herlucan

Age: 25

Personality: Revar Tulin, the self-anointed Darth Herlucan, is a twisted and dark creature of the dark side; one who is quick to anger and incredibly impatient, Revar is a being of rage whose incomplete training leaves much to be desired when compared to his former Master, Darth Sidious.

Skills: As a former Hand of the Emperor, Revar is proficient in the use of melee weapons and blasters and is force-sensitive. While no true Sith Lord yet, his training under the tutelage of Emperor Palpatine has put him on the path to great power.

Weapon: Red lightsaber, SE-14r light repeating blaster

Ship: Bellator Class Star Destroyer Rage

Rank: Self-Appointed Dark Lord of the Sith, formerly Hand of the Emperor

Bio: Born on the world of Dantooine at the dawn of the Clone Wars in 22BBY to a long-standing farming family, Revar Tulin may not have amounted to much had the galaxy not had plans for him. And so it was that mere months after his birth, in 21BBY the Confederacy of Independent Systems and their armies of battle droids descended upon the surface of the planet and began occupying the planet. During the occupation, Revar's parents both joined the resistance forces against the separatists and led raids against the droid armies time and time again, until towards the end of 21BBY Jedi Master Mace Windu and his Clone troopers launched their operation to liberate the planet. It was at this time that Revar's parents noticed that there was something rather...different about their child; he was force-sensitive. Upon the liberation of the planet, Mace Windu approached the Tulin family and made it clear that the Jedi would return for Revar, but that with the ongoing war and given the child's age, it was too early to take him to the Jedi Temple. Continuing their cooperation with the Republic and it's Grand Army, Revar's parents became part of Dantooine's Planetary Defence Force which was to become its first line of defence against the Separatists. In the final days of the Clone Wars, the Jedi returned to Dantooine to retrieve Revar for his Jedi training. The Jedi Master with his escort of a dozen clones entered the family's house to meet the young Revar. As the Jedi Master crouched down to introduce himself, Revar saw a flash of blue light illuminating the doorframe of his room and heard the faint words that would forever haunt him "Execute Order 66". Revar never did learn the Jedi's name for mere seconds after hearing those words he was shot in the back by his clone escort. Telling his parents that there had been a rebellion led by the Jedi against the Supreme Chancellor, the clones then left the house and returned to their ship. They would return; and when they did, they wouldn't be leaving again.

Outraged at the seizure of power by Palpatine as the Emperor of the newly born Galactic Empire, Revar's parents left their positions in the Planetary Defence Force and joined the new resistance force growing on Dantooine. With the downfall of the Jedi and knowledge of a force sensitive child who had not yet been corrupted by the Jedi, Emperor Palpatine tasked a platoon of his new Stormtroopers to take custody of the child and bring it to him. When the Stormtroopers arrived, Revar's parents assumed that they had come for them since they had conducted numerous raids on Imperial installations, so they opened fire on the Imperials. It was no use; Revar watched on as his parents fell before him. After being kidnapped by the Emperor, he was trained by Sidious and countless other instructors including Boba Fett and Bossk over the next 15 years until Sidious believed he was ready to carry out his first assignment. Now aged 18, he was ready to crush the Rebellion, but Sidious had other tasks for him first... Arriving on Dromund Kaas for the first time, Revar believed the planet to be a simple jungle world much like Felucia or Dagobah. As he approached the coordinates given to him by Sidious, his eyes widened as the Dark Temple appeared before his eyes. The great monument to the Sith Empire continued to stand long after the civilization that had created it has ceased to exist. Now, Sidious had tasked Revar to retrieve as much ancient Sith knowledge and artifacts as possible. Taking an interest in what he was gathering; Revar listened to every holocron, read every Sith text and attempted to wield every ancient weapon in the temple.

Name: Sith Empire (Imperial 19th Fleet)

Leader: Darth Herlucan
Type: Imperial Remnant
Number of Members: 500,000
Number and Types of Ships: 1 Bellator-Class Star Destroyer Rage, 3 Imperial-II Class Star Destroyers, 5 Imperial I-Class Star Destroyers, 10 Victory-II Class Star Destroyers, 20 Tartan Patrol Cruisers
Base(s): Dromund Kaas, Korriban, Ziost
Resources: N/A
Description: Based upon it's namesake of millennia ago, the Sith Empire seeks to do what its predecessor and Sidious could not; take and hold the galaxy. Darth Herlucan believes it was the reliance on technological terrors such as the Death Stars and lack of Sith influence which proved the downfall of Sidious' Galactic Empire and so has used the old Sith Empire as the model on which he will build his new state.
Backstory: Witness to the great power wielded by force users such as Darth Vader, the Emperor and Revar himself and disillusioned with the technological constructs of the Empire following the disastrous Battle of Endor, the Imperial 19th Fleet with its headquarters on Dromund Kaas, proclaimed the rebirth of the ancient Sith Empire of old with Revar Tulin at its helm. No more would the Imperial Bureaucrats such as Tarkin nor heretical beliefs such as the Rule of Two hold the Sith back from their birthright; control of the Galaxy. Sidious' final order to Revar a year previous had been to reclaim the ruins of Kaas City from the jungles of Dromund Kaas and to repair what he could and scour the ruins for knowledge and artifacts. Learning much of the former Sith Empire from his time on the planet, Revar became obsessed with his Sith predecessors, something which the Stormtroopers and Imperial Navy troops under his command soon came to share; enraptured by the stories of Grand Moff Odile Vaiken who had come from nothing and in the end became the first Imperial Grand Moff and was responsible for rearming the Sith from their darkest hour.

Upon the news of the destruction of the Second Death Star and the deaths of Darth Sidious and Darth Vader, Revar proclaimed himself the successor to Sidious as Darth Herlucan and declared an end to the rule of two. While not yet declaring himself Sith Emperor, he was claiming it in all but name. While several captains in orbit decided to desert after receiving this news, almost all of the 19th Fleet which was under Revar's command swore fealty to him as their new leader. Over the last six months, the Sith Empire has expanded to encompass not just Dromund Kaas, but also Ziost and Korriban; ancient core worlds of the Sith. All the while, Sidious' final order has continued to be carried out, with Kaas City cleared of jungle and mostly repaired. With his seat of power secured and his fleet's loyalty secured, Darth Herlucan now prepares to expand his empire and crush the rebellion once and for all.

Okeyday, thou art accepted. This'll be interesting, a revived Sith Empire!

Type: Imperial Warlord
Base(s):
Tetan Naval Dockyards : An ancient set of shipyards orbiting the systems capital. Capable of servicing nearly two dozen Imperial Class Star Destroyers at a time, or hundreds of lighter warships, these shipyards are the key to the Tetan system’s dominance of the Deep Core. These shipyards also act as a port on the gateway of the extremely secretive Byss run, and as such, they are the site of a major base of the Imperial Ubiqatoire. During the reign of the Empire these dockyards primarily constructed the new Vigil class escort corvette and were responsible for both the dismantling and refitting of older Imperial ships like the Victory and Venator. With Palpatine’s exploration of the Deep Core gaining progress the fleet there was bolstered with the addition of a battlecruiser group, headed by the Secutor class Star Destroyer Grace of Fondor.
Kuar orbital mining facility: This facility, the largest planetary mine on this side of the Mid rim, is one of the greatest assets to the Tetan Authority. When the nobility decided to oust the Empire, it was the power invested in these facilities that convinced Vice Admiral Gustav Ludendorf to throw his lot into the revolution. Alongside the impressive mining facilities, countless ancient Tetan fortresses, along with 30 Golan two platforms installed by the CIS in the clone wars, protect the facility from outside threats.

Planets Controlled:
Empress Teta: Capital of the Authority, largest population center
Kuar: Major Mining Guild world, home to massive estates of the Tetan Nobility
Starswarm CL: member world of the Authority, home to a military service shipyard.
Symbia: Home of the third fleet, member world
Keeara Major: Member world

Population: 1.3 trillion

2x Secutor class heavy carriers – Pride of Carida/ Grace of Fondor

25- Acclamator II class heavy cruisers
25- Dreadnought heavy cruisers
12- Immobilizer 418 cruisers
13- Gladiator Star Destroyers
30x Carrack Light Cruisers
30x Nebulon B frigates
15x Pelta class frigates (refitted to Imperial standards)
10x Escort carriers
20x Ton Falk carriers
200x Vigil class corvettes
50x DP20 gunships
50x Raider gunships

Resources: Vast mineral wealth from multiple deep core worlds formerly under mining guild control. Food reserves for the capital supplied from the Agri world of Symbia V, Carbonite deposits from all across the Tetan System. Massive credit reserves from the nobility and taxation upon shipping down the Byss run

Description:
While officially an Imperial successor state the Tetan Civil authority would balk at such claims. The goal of the organization is to finally achieve the ancient Tetan dream of becoming the preeminent culture of the galaxy, and as such it strives to exert maximum pressure on the worlds of the core and deep core. Uniquely among warlord states, it is an oligarchy, with a council formed of its top one percent, known as the Korostad, governing domestic policy. Meanwhile its economics and military are run by its former Moff and vice admiral, who threw their support behind the popular revolution against Imperial rule when it began. The traditional figurehead ruler is represented by the Empress of Teta, in this case Angela Kito
The Tetan Authority has some loose alliances with the Imperial Remnant, including allowances for trade to pass through into fortress worlds in the Deep Core, in exchange for taxation. However, rumors are that the Tetan customs ships are known to do more than routine inspections, supposedly stealing whole vessels from the Empire’s failing grip

Backstory:
While the Emperor’s corpse was still warm the winds of revolution were flaring in the Tetan system. An old enemy of Coruscant, and member world of the CIS during the Clone Wars, the Tetans were no friend to rule from Coruscant. Even the Moff in charge of the sector, Rix Illian, was not known to be the most loyal of Palpatine’s caucus. The systems Vice Admiral, a native born Tetan with the name of Gustav Ludendorf was similarly displeased with Coruscant. When news of the Emperor’s demise reached the deep core, and the Tetan people learned of the scattering of Death Squadron, the nobility and merchant classes of Teta declared their ultimatum, a new Tetan state free from Imperial control. To their surprise, not only did Rix and Gustav agree to their terms, but helped them seize control of the Imperial task force in control of the Tetan system, including the Bellator SSD which was undergoing refits to serve as a communications ship in the Byss defense force. With the Tetan navy under their control, and nearby systems with sizeable estates under the Nobles pledging allegiance the Tetan Civil Authority was born.

Vice Admiral Ludendorf, keeping his former rank, vowed to take control of the new Tetan first fleet, and advance the Tetan interests across the galaxy, Moff Rix on the other hand, took up a position as Secretary of Economic Development, putting him in command of the vast logistics chains keeping the city world of Teta running. A new electoral body of Nobles, the Korostad was formed to run the local government and handle all internal affairs, while ministers appointed by that board ran certain segments of the planet.

Soon the Tetan shipyards were back online, cranking out more Vigil class escorts for the fleet, and beginning construction of a new type of warship using Adegan crystals seized from a convoy meant for Byss during the revolution. Recusant cruisers, from the personal fleets of some of the wealthiest merchant families also joined the force, lending their antiquated but powerful firepower to the new Navy.

The first actions of the new navy were to intercept and destroy an Imperial task force sent to reconquer the system only a month after Endor. The enemy consisted of five ISDs and assorted escorts. They were destroyed with little to no losses on the Tetan side, and this was cause for celebration among the Tetan forces.

Now, with their borders secure and preparations underway for a major campaign, it is anyone’s guess as to the next intentions of the Tetan forces.

Notable Members:
Moff Rix Illian- Financial head of the Tetan Authority
Vice Admiral Gustav Ludendorf- Commander of the Tetan Fleets, commands Victory 3-star destroyer refit, Revanchist.
Lord Captain Firmius Deloran- Captain of the Nobility Merchant fleet- commands Recusant class destroyer Investment
Captain Lloyd Abrams- Captain of the Bellator class SSD Emergence
Lord Ernest Mccarter- Prime Minister of the Korostad.

Notable/Unusual ship designs:
Victory 3 class star destroyer: a refit undergoing just before the battle of Endor, this project attempted to upgrade the aging VSD 1s to the standard of the VSD 2 model. The resulting ship combined the heavy missile firepower of the VSD 1 with the speed and additional shielding of the VSD 2, resulting in a powerful model of the craft.

Strigida class stealth cruiser: An extremely powerful heavy cruiser built in absolute secrecy deep in the Tetan dockyards, this ship is the cinch pin in the Tetan naval strategy. While having only light armour and shields, and little to no point defense or conventional turbolasers, this craft is equipped with an extremely experimental cloaking device stolen from shipments to the Emperor’s personal vaults on Byss. However, due to the shield baffling nature of this device the Strigida must lower the cloak to fire its main weapons, 30 high power, long range concussion missile launchers. Alongside those weapons the Strigida has 7 Medium Turbolaser turrets, and five-point defense cannons. While 25 basic hulls have been completed of the class by this point, only four mount the experimental cloaking device, and the others are in various states of completion, awaiting mainly a new supply of Adegan crystals. Only 3 others are crewed at this point.

Weapons: 6x Dual MTLs, 30x long range concussion missile tubes, 5x Point Defense Cannons.

Crew: 2, 000 enlisted, 900 boarding troops, 500 specialist gunners, 50 engineering specialists

Hyperdrive rating: 4 while in cloak, 1.6 while without cloaking device

Communications: While in cloak communications are limited to a 30 light minute toghtbeam, while out of cloak it mounts a powerful Holonet transponder.

A SITH WOULD NOT OPERATE PUBLICLY AFTER ENDOR again Palpatine wouldn't just let anyone view a sith holocron not even mara jade who was by all accounts his number 1 hand didn't view one why would he allow some random one to do so? Palpatine didn't believe in sharing power and letting a hand view a sith holocron would be seen as a form of respect that was not in his character. "During training, Palpatine cultivated the Hand's latent Force abilities, but avoided providing Jedi or Sith training." so hee most certainly wouldn't have allowed that without fundamentally changing who Palpatine was a character.

Considering EU numbers are pretty crazy sometimes, I took a middle ground between EU and Cannon. These fleet numbers would be split in between the dozens and dozens of star systems currently held by Kuras. A single planet or star system that would not be a fortress world such as Kuat or Rendilli, would hold but a fraction, if any of these forces on station.

Description:
The Kuati holdouts are defined as a region where Grand Moff Tichis Kuras has taken over command in the aftermath of the battle of Endor. These Imperial worlds are centered around Kuat, with Tichis Kuras organising his forces within the Executor-class SSD Annihilator, that he has made into his mobile operations Center

As the Battle of Endor unfolded, most of the over-sector placed under Grand Moff Tichis Kuras his protection at the time, were set aflame as riots and revolts erupted across dozens of systems simultaneously. With the destruction of Alderaan still fresh in the mind of many of the worlds inside his over-sector, the death of the Emperor and Lord Vader had unleashed a tidal wave of Chaos across the galaxy.

Stormtrooper battalions deployed across these systems, in the absence of clear commands and desiring to avenge the death of the Emperor, began crushing down protests and riots in a particularly brutal fashion that only served to make the situation worse. As local Moffs quickly lost control of the situation, Tichis Kuras was forced to re-organise his own forces and even take direct control of those forces under commands of Moffs that were unable to pacify their own worlds and sectors.

In the tense weeks that followed, The Grand-Moff cycled out the Stormtroopers and deployed his Imperial Army forces and Navy under his direct command to quell many of the widespread revolts in a less bloody manner. In return, he deployed the Stormtrooper core to hit identified centers of organised, armed resistance only, avoiding more uncontrolled bloodshed across the over-sector.

While this did not entirely solve the situation, it did seem to stop further exponential escalation. With the low morale of the Imperial Army forces hampering their capability to enforce decisive victory in many locations, the Grand Moff has, as of yet, been unable to regain full control of the entire Over-sector. Meaning that various worlds inside his sphere of control remain home to active fighting and systematic skirmishes between rebel sympathisers and Imperial garrisons.

Although the situation has threatened to spill over to complete anarchy multiple times in the immediate weeks and months after the battle of Endor, including the loss of entire planets and garrisons on several occasions, Grand Moff Kuras managed to consolidate his territory somewhat. Centered around the massive supply centers of Rendilli, Foundry and Kuat. These systems being home to large shipyards and supply centers, where the Grand-Moff can easily resupply and repair his forces and safely coordinate reinforcements and counter-attacks were necessary. A tactic that has been somewhat successful in the immediate months since the battle of Endor.

When Commenor and Brenthaal were ignited in open revolt, not long before the battle of Fondor, the Grand Moff acted swiftly. Realising the critical importance of these worlds, considering their positions on vital hyperspace lanes, he swiftly deployed portions of his forces to retake control over those systems.

But even without these additions, the Kuati holdouts would constitute a critical portion of Imperial infrastructure and resources that would prove disastrous if lost to the New republic. Although toying with the possibility to use his new influence, power and the absence of Imperial authority to craft himself a more Independent role, the Grand Moff has declined to pursue such ambitions as of yet. Instead he has contacted nearby Moffs, Corrussant and other influential Imperial officers on multiple occasions in the hope to set up a meeting to discuss the succession properly. Although the chaotic advance of the New republic has spoiled any attempts of doing so as of yet, it seems Imperial unity remains the current strategy of the Kuati Holdouts.

Name: Thichis Kuras
Faction: The Empire / The Imperial Kuat Holdout
Appearance: Greying, Caucasian Male, 50-60 years of age
Personality: Calculating, diplomatic, Cunning
Skills: Logistical skills, organisational skills, negotiations
Weapons: SE14-C blaster pistol
Ship: Executor-Class SSD Annihilator
Rank: Grand Moff
Bio:
Tichis Kuras was born a Kuati noble who had been groomed from an early age to serve as a naval officer for the republic, partially as a token to promote future Kuat commissions for the republic. In that sense, he was educated on Kuat as an Engineer and diplomat, before being shipped off to a Naval academy on Corrussant. In both, He seemed to excel. Although seemingly never becoming an exceptional tactical genius, Kuras showed extreme adaptitude
in organising his troops, supply lines and was commended on several occasions for his ability to remain calm and calculating under any circumstance.

Serving a sting in the Judicial corps of the Republic, his career was initially somewhat unremarkable. Performing patrols in the far flung stretches of the republic in anti-piracy duties. It was not until the Clone wars started, that Kuras would come to his own.

Securing the captaincy of a Venator class Star Destroyer early in the War, he managed to rise through the ranks, at a reasonable rate, becoming known for his capability to plan effective and successful planetary invasions, as his aptitude for logistics and organisation came to its own in these complex operations. With these skills, he would prepare and execute various planetary invasions all during the reconquest of the Rim.
When the New Order came to be, Tichis Kuras had his pick of positions, but eventually decided on becoming a liaison officer to Kuat drive Yards. Here he would supervise the development and deployment of the various new ship models that the Empire had come to order and commission from Kuat Drive Yards. In the end, even with the death of the republic and the rise of the new Order, it seemed Kuras had achieved the plan his family had prepared him for all his life.

This posting would end eventually however, when Kuras was wounded during the testing of the original EF-76 Nebulon B frigate, a controversial vessel that would eventually only be partially adopted by the Empire, many mothballed versions of this ship ending up in rebel hands.

After his recovery, he was promoted to a leading position in the Imperial supply and commissioning office of Kuat, dealing with various logistical matters, ensuring clean and efficient supply lines and negotiating the orders of new starships directly with Kuat Drive. A prestigious position that would allow him to make many allies.

Even with rebel activity increasing and danger to the supply lines increasing yearly, Kuras his efforts in increasing the efficiency of the Imperial supply lines was noticeable, for which many a Imperial officer would be grateful.

In the end, it was a relatively comfortable post with little risk. With the posting, Kuras took the time to acquire influence, resources and supporters. His Kuati heritage made him a popular figure in the sector and his position ensured he could curry favor with the various dockyards in the Oversector and the Imperial Admiralty who desired swift access to repairs, ships and replenishment. It was here that Kuras had come to desire a more prestigious posting in the Empire. That of Grand Moff of the Kuati over-sector, a position that would make him one of the most powerful men in the Empire.

But even with political capital and a long, somewhat successful naval career, Kuras required extraordinary circumstances, before he could petition Imperial High Command for such a prestigious commission.

An opportunity to this extent would later arise when the Alliance to restore the republic launched what would later be called the Mid Rim Offensive. Kuras, at this point the rank of Moff, noticed an opportunity when he saw one. He arranged to be given a leading position on the strategic planning of the defense. Using his connections and knowledge of the over-sector, he arranged a complex fighting retreat across the region. A strategy that, Initially, received multiple complaints declaring it foolish and cowardly.

But due to Kuras' machinations, the rebellious fleet and their assembled ground forces soon found themselves overstretched and struggling to maintain cohesion across a front that spanned dozens of sectors. It was then that Moff Kuras launched a well prepared counter-offensive that wreaked havoc on the overstretched elements of the rebellion fleet. With their ground forces deployed and engaged with Orbital fortresses and Imperial garrisons Kuras had well-supplied during his initial and well planned retreat, rebel fleets often had to either fight to the death, in an attempt to evacuate their ground based comrades or abandon hundreds, if not thousands of rebel forces engaged on the surface.

With this campaign culminating in the re-pacification of dozens of sectors and a crippling blow to the first large scale offensive the rebellion had launched in the civil War, Kuras had finally assembled all the necessary political capital required to establish himself as Grand Moff of the Kuati oversector.

But here, Kuras would find himself in a frustrating position. He had plans and ambitions with his new posting as Grand Moff, overseeing the prestigious worlds of Kuat and Rendilli. Ever since his commission as a Liaison officer, he had hoped to adjust the doctrine of the Imperial fleet, which he found lacking and inefficient. But his commentary on overall Imperial Fleet doctrine and his proposed amendments to fleet composition and which construction projects were to receive priority, were often overruled or shot down by such people as Grand Moff Tarkin himself or other members of Imperial High command. And worryingly, it seemed his ideas were not only unpopular with Grand Moff Tarkin or elements of Imperial High Command, but even the Emperor himself...

Were it not for the disastrous battle of Endor his continued and unpopular commentary on the issues of the Tarkin doctrine would have likely ensured his replacement with a less critical Moff before long. But with the Emperor, Lord Vader and Grand Moff Tarkin dead, nor anyone else of sufficient rank to depose him officially, Grand Moff Kuras was left to his own devices, for better or worse.

Backstory:
Imperial Task Force 117 was originally the detachment surrounding the Imperial Star Destroyer "Bulwark". Commanded by Admiral Farren in the southern Mid-Rim and Outer-Rim tasked with combating increasingly bold attacks from the Rebellion against Imperial installations and supply lines.

When the Imperial order began to collapse and multiple worlds, systems and even entire sectors fell into panic, riots and open revolt after the battle of Endor, Task force 117 was suddenly left adrift, with no clear chain of command. Conflicted orders came from seperate surviving members of High Command, several Moffs began creating semi-independent command structures in response and nobody had any idea who was to become the new emperor. The contested government of Corrussant began to slowly recall what loyalist forces he could muster and it seemed initially he held the most legal right to the Empire compared to others. But they were not popular and it seemed more than a few of the Moffs and Imperial Admiralty had begun to ignore them...

With this chaotic situation at hand, Admiral Helmar Farren, in command of the Star Destroyer "Bulwark" and its escort fleet, was forced to contemplate his options and make his own, independent decision. Given largely three choices to choose from. The first was to take his forces and hunker down, claim what stable territory he could, continue his current assignment and attempt to wait out the succession crisis in the core and wait for a clear successor. The second was to abandon the fighting entirely, with the increasing boldness of the rebellion and their success at Endor, it would not be an unreasonable answer... The third option and the choice Farren would eventually make, was to return to the Core himself and to involve himself personally in the succession crisis and, hopefully, help to stabilize the Imperial government as soon as possible. All to give them a fighting chance against the increasingly bold and numerous forces of the ARR.

A return to the Core was necessary to have any voice in the future of the Empire, to have a hand in the very question of its continued survival. Task force 117 would not immediately return to the Core, however. Farren instead decided to fight a series of bloody battles in his sector in order to evacuate several elements of the besieged Imperial Army and Stormtrooper corps garrisoned on nearby systems and worlds. They were being overwhelmed by the growing and rapidly spreading revolts all around the Colonies and outer-rim. By the time the 117th arrived at Fondor, weeks, if not months after the battle of Endor, it had doubled in fleet size, absorbing multiple smaller patrol fleets they had rescued along the Star destroyer "Nitsa". Next to these rescued Naval elements, were the surviving forces of Imperial garrisons and stormtrooper elements from over a dozen systems, now lost to open revolt and advances by the Rebellion.

With the uncertain nature of the Imperial succession and the chaos at Imperial High Command far from resolved, many of the demoralized officers in the 117th, many of them grateful to have been rescued, now looked to Admiral Farren for answers, Answers he could not yet provide, but promised he would find...

Name: Helmar Farren
Faction: The Galactic Empire - Task Force 117
Appearance: Human Male, Roughly 35 years old
Personality: A collected and Talented officer and strategist, able to keep his calm during battle. His ascent through the Imperial ranks was somewhat slowed, considering his successful and accomplished war record, as he was known to be a public opponent to the Tarkin doctrine and was inclined to use more unorthodox tactics not favored by most Imperial tacticians.
Skills:
* Talented Fleet Officer and Tactician
* Excellent organizer
* Decent physical fighter and marksman
* Decent Starfighter Pilot
Weapons: SE14-C blaster pistol
Flagship: Imperial I Class Star Destroyer, "The Bulwark"
Rank: Admiral
Bio:
Farren has a story not too uncommon in the galaxy marked by the Clone wars. A family ripped apart by brutality of that conflict and a young boy wishing for nothing more than to serve, in order to stand guard against anything like it, ever happening again. He witnessed the sadistic nature of the separatist war machine, the chaos of war and those events were imprinted in his mind as traumatic events. To Farren, the newly proclaimed Empire was the tool that would keep the chaos away and protect the people of the galaxy from experiencing such Chaos again, a belief that propelled him into joining an Imperial academy as soon as he was able.

It is an unspoken secret that much of Farren's early career in the Imperial Academies was blackened by disciplinary action, only avoiding expulsion by consistent high marks. Physical and verbal conflicts with other students and even instructors often the root cause of it. For no matter his convictions, he remained, for the most part, individualistic.

But the Academy forced Farren to adapt and by the time he graduated he had learned the important lessons to keep one's opinion to yourself and to share your plans only with those who need to know of them. He eventually graduated as a model student, achieving his graduation with honors and beginning his service as an Imperial Navy officer on patrol ships in the Colonies, neat hutt Space.

His Career there was mixed, dragged in two directions, One rewarding in terms of his excellence as a fleet officer and the other pulling him down in his unwillingness to involve himself in the complex internal politics of the Imperial Navy. Often ensuring his superior officers performed less effort in ensuring his promotions.

Although eventually, his stellar record and efficiency allowed him to rise through the ranks swiftly enough. But His true meteoric rise would only come to pass as the tragedy at Yavin sent shockwaves through the Galaxy, along with the death of hundreds of thousands of experienced fleet officers and personnel. It was in the interim between the destruction of the 2 death stars that Farren received his commission as the captain of the Star destroyer "Bulwark" to patrol an important sector in the outer-Rim, where he hunted down and destroyed several small rebel cells, outposts and prevented multiple sabotage attempts of critical empirical infrastructure across his assigned sector. During which he received multiple Commendations, paving the way for him to receive command of the entire 117th, when other admirals were pulled to Endor, to spring a trap for the rebels.

As the disastrous events at Endor unfolded, Farren was left Isolated in the Outer-Rim, the entire sector he had been tasked to patrol suddenly aflame in uprisings and various spontaneously rebellions, command structure of the sector crippled or ending up killed by rebel strikes and terrorist attacks. With the Emperor dead and the Imperial High Council in a deadly dance of power with various political and military powers in the core worlds along with no clear directives from Imperial High command, Farren was left to make his own Choices.

Planetary governors nearby begged for aid and entire Imperial garrisons were being wiped off the map across the entire sector, the Emperor dead and the succession under contention by the powers that be. Utter, pure chaos.

Those tense weeks and months after the battle of Ender showed Farren the broken side of the Empire, shattering his idealistic view of the monolithic order he had served most his life. Moffs disregarded their duties, often creating petty kingdoms and even the Imperial power brokers began to engage in bloody intrigue with anyone stepping forward to claim power.
The Chaos of it all sent shivers down Farren's spine. He hated it, He hated it all. He had served the Empire without question because it promised one thing. It had promised order and security, values Farren had spent his life wanting to embody. For that he had maimed, he had killed. He had done unspeakable things to uphold that promise.

And here it was... All in flames. And Who could he blame? The Rebellion, this alliance to restore the republic? The food riots? The instigations after the destruction of Alderaan? Were they truly the cause... Or merely the symptom of a darker problem lurking under the surface?

But before his mind could wander into more dangerous directions, Farren concluded that he had no choice, but to return to the Core. The 117th was spent and there would be no option for them in the outer-Rim, but surrender. A choice that will likely leave many of them executed or destitute and worse of all, it would have made all of this, all their sacrifices, for naught… A thought that horrified Farren more than anything else.

In the Core, they would be safe for a while, there they could try and make sense of it all. And It was there that Farren would find the answers on how to crawl out of this mess, no matter how he feared whatever those answers could be.

Name: Arlissa Daaru

Skills:
* Excellent Intelligence officer
* Decent Strategist and Tactician
* Skilled Martial Artist
* Skilled user of the unorthodox Light-Whip
* Able to use minor Sith/Force powers
Weapons: Lightwhip, Blaster
Flagship: -None-
Rank: None - Former Emperor's Hand - Ex-Sith Apprentice
Bio:

Few know the organisation known as the Emperor's hand ever existed. And with the Death of Lord Vader and Emperor Palpatine, there may be none left alive who know what happened to those who were once members of that organisation.

Arlissa was eventually recruited into the organisation after a deadly operation that proved her unwavering loyalty and force of will. Alongside clandestine training under Lord Vader himself as one of his many attempts to raise a worthwhile apprentice of his own, she would excell as a ruthless assasin in the name of the Emperor. Believing with utter zealousness in the New Order that Palpatine said he represented.

Arlissa was born on Corrussant and was selected to attend an experimental Imperial indoctrination program, named COMPNOR. These specialist Imperial schools would take talented youths and raise them from an early age to become skilled and fiercely loyal Imperial officers and administrators. A next generation of loyal and efficient Imperial subjects.

Deemed both intelligent and talented alongside a success of the COMPNOR youth program. She was selected to attend several Imperial academies to prepare her for a career in Imperial Intelligence, where her perceived talents would be put to best use. And as part of the COMPNOR program, she was inducted in several auxiliary training programs, such as Pilot and martial combat training, to ensure she would grow into a highly capable Imperial officer.

During these extensive training programs, her excellence in most fields was deemed a benchmark for the possible success of the COMPNOR program. Her success would ensure the expansion of the COMPNOR project across the galaxy. But Arlissa's excellence would eventually catch up to her as she caught Vader's eye during an inspection of the program and he seemed to deem her potentially useful for his own machinations.

As Lord Vader used his influence to fast track Arlissa's educational progress, he visited her on several occasions to test her prowess in martial combat. He tested her potential to learn Jedi and Sith martial techniques and found her suitable for his plans. In Secret, he trained her across the period of several months in these advanced techniques for reasons he did not divulge.

Soon enough though, around 3 BBY, she graduated from the Imperial Academies and was inducted into Imperial Intelligence. Intending to test his new pet project, Lord Vader ensured her first assignments were deemed high risk. Upon her rapid success of these initial “tests”, she was proposed to Emperor Palpatine by Lord Vader personally, as a potential candidate for the Emperor's hand. Selling Arlissal as a “gift” from Vader to the Emperor.

Upon acceptance into the direct service of the Emperor as one of his personal assasins, Vader was allowed to continue her training, no longer required to keep it hidden from the Emperor's eye. But he seemingly lost interest in her training at this stage, busy with various other projects and hunting down an ever growing obsession with the boy later known as Luke Skywalker. But nevertheless, on occasion, Vader would continue to test her abilities and send her on more "personal" assignments without the knowledge of the Emperor, oft to find knowledge that, Arlissa would later surmise, would have helped Vader overthrow the Emperor himself.

In her work as Emperor's Hand, she was often deployed to arrange "accidents" for the growing amount malcontents inside the Empire. A task that began to slowly chip away at her indoctrination and programmed loyalties. The COMPNOR program had deeply ingrained the moral superiority of various institutions and philosophies upon which the Empire stood. Strength, Unity, Sacrifice and Discipline.
But Many of the men she was tasked to kill, men she would watch die by her own hand with increasing regularity, often displayed all the hallmarks of those ideals and seemed staunchly loyal to the Empire and its continued stability.

It took until she was tasked with killing one of her fellow COMPNOR graduates, for her to realize the truth of the situation. The Emperor was not only sending her to kill rebels or even potential traitors, but anyone he deemed a threat to whatever plans he had underneath the surface, even if it damaged the overall stability of the Empire itself. Even the most loyal Imperial servants could be marked for death for as much as doubting the efficiency or logic behind the Emperor his actions. And as the Empire continued to crumble around her as the ARR increased in popularity, she realised that there was but one reason why the Empire was failing... And that was the Emperor himself, him and whatever foolish plans he continued to concoct.

Lord Vader, sensing her growing malcontence of Palpatine's orders as a chance to use her as a tool to take Palpatine down, sent her to Ziost to complete her clandestine training as a pupil of the Dark side of the Force, it was here where Arlissa underwent a deep personal crisis. During her excursion of the planet, she discovered several artifacts of the ancient sith, detailing the knowledge she needed to build her own Lightsaber weapon. But these ancient artifacts of Sith nature, trapped and cursed by ancient Force teachings drove her manic. For she was conflicted in the Force.

Her mind fogged, she wandered the ruins of Ziost for weeks, attempting to regain a semblance of sanity. In the end, her confusion turned to anger and allowed her to complete her trials on Ziost as it ensured her connection to the darker side of the force was strong enough for her to complete her trials. As she crafted her lightsaber, her training to become Lord Vader's new tool to eventually kill palpatine was complete.

She continued to serve both Palpatine and Lord Vader as a clandestine agent, collecting information and acting as an assassin for both parties. But the conflicting nature of her actions would soon force her confusion and doubts to resurface once again. When rooting out a rebel cell on Corrussant on the emperor's command, she found another member of COMPNOR program leading the insurrectionists. A close friend of her youth, of whom she had fond memories.

One of her own had joined the rebellion, something she had believed to be impossible. They had been raised from childhood to serve the Empire after all… But before she died of the wounds Arlissa had inflicted upon her, she entrusted to her childhood friend that she had suffered from the same doubts and realisations of the corruption in the highest echelons in the Empire. She had realised, just as much as Arlissa had, that the Emperor himself had created, on purpose, a flawed and corrupt empire that was never intended to live up to the ideals it claimed to represent.

----

Arlissa at this point, was once again consumed by doubts and realised that the greatest enemy to the Empire and the ideals it proclaimed represented, the ideals she was raised to defend, was not just the Emperor, but her own mentor, Lord Vader aswel. It seemed clear to her that it was their Sith nature that doomed the Empire into collapse. She had seen the cruelty Lord Vader was known to dispatch, but she had initially believed it to be the overly harsh hand of Imperial justice. But once analysing his behaviour alongside the continuous assassinations that he and his own mentor, Emperor Palpatine, ordered, it had become clear that it was themselves that were the root cause. It was them leading to the destruction of the institutions they would drain of power, wealth and influence until there was nothing left but a shell of its former self.

With this new conflicted realisation, Arlissa began to formulate her own plans to kill the Emperor and Lord Vader, in order to save the Empire itself from their machinations. For this, she had to organise, for she soon realised that should the Emperor and Lord Vader die, the structure upon which the Empire stood was seemingly designed to collapse into infighting, the lines of succession seemed clear, but it was obvious that those systems that were in place would fail almost immediately...

But beyond finding a solution to this vindictive self destructive plan that the Emperor had seemingly put into place on purpose , she realised she needed to become much more powerful, before she could ever hope to entrap and kill both the Emperor and Lord Vader.
No matter what plan she would concoct, what trap she would set or advantages she could give herself, it was far from enough to ever hope to challenge Vader, or the Emperor.

But before Arlissa could finish her training and concoct her plan, the Battle of Endor unfolded and the Empire was thrown into utter Chaos, in the eyes of Arlissa, exactly as those two madmen had intended. Although the Sith pulling the strings had been slaughtered, her greatest fear had been made reality. The Empire was crumbling unto itself, created flawed on purpose by the machinations of Palpatine.

Her plans were left in ruins, all her preparations being for naught. Now, there was nothing to stop the Empire from feasting on itself. But Arlissa, however conflicted and confused that she was on what the future was to be, decided she would do what she could in order to save what she could of the Empire.

This path eventually brought her to Fondor, where she believed the Emperor had prepared more nefarious safeguards in the case of his death. Arriving on the eve of a New Republic attack and faced with few options and no resources, she would demand an audience with an admiral who had just arrived with a retreating force from the Outer Rim, where she would attempt to convince him to help her stop the spiraling collapse of the Empire and block the machinations of Late Emperor Palpatine.

Their were dark jedi and the like trained by palpatine, even warlords I believe. It just depends how they assemble a loyal fleet and force to follow them.

Imperial remnants have a lot of choices, so one must basically make a case why a captain would follow you. Hence why most warlords were popular officers, previous governors, people with long ranging political influence and connection or outright moffs.

It wouldn't be only a question as to how you came to get dark side powers, but how you convinced former imperial officers to join you, basically. But their would be a lot of ways to do that in a believable manner.

This said, let's not be hasty with the Tetans. Those who may yet be won by diplomacy should be approached in that manner first; the waste of vessels in any conflict between ourselves only serves to aid the New Republic. Titan Command views their destruction to be paramount in tandem with the formation of a new Imperial state.

Yess, I get that. But the Imperial civil war in Cannon did involve a LOT of infighting. It is a large part of the charm, conflict and drama inside the Civil war era. We can't just go all happy go lucky, shake hands and suddenly agree to fight the new republic in a single united front and ignore our various personal goals either.
It would make the situation a lot more bland.

Maybe not go full on bloody war to bleed ourselves entirely dry, but not be all friendly and without conflict or intrigue either.

I mean, All of us want to have fleets of Star Destroyers clashing out in space, don't we?

Oh, dont fear, I have plans for conquest too

Hopefully next week. I'm hoping Rifta will go the NR route, then we're good. Members of the NR and IR might want to start brainstorming their attack.

Sorry, it's an abbreviation for New Republic. IR is Imperial Remnants.

I would need some more info about the nature of the fondor attack.
Is it about operation Cinder?
If not, is it an attack we know that is coming? Is it a surprise attack?
