Question: how should repeater rifles be used? can they be used in a military unit or are they only reserved for elite units?

The first repeater came out in 1866, the Henry rifle.

If you mean breech-loading rifles and carbines, thats gonna be for sharpshooters and cavalry.

I am mainly concerned about repeater rifles, not breech loaders. I'm asking since in the civil war mostly percussion cap muskets were used by infantry and I was wondering if I could give my troops Repeaters instead.

Aight, so this what I'm gonna do. Imma start by training my troops at some fort in upstate New York. Then I'll get a sealift from the navy, take Mobile, New Orleans, and land at the mouth of the Mississippi, march up to Vicksburg, take that, and link up with the Army of the Tennessee and Romextly's brigadier general. Huh. Now that I read it, it sounds ambitious.

To get Mobile, you would have to get past Fort Morgan and Fort Gaines which protect the entrance to Mobile Bay plus the Confederate 1st Corp which my guy commands would be moved to either New Orleans or Vicksburg to either city.

Not sure how difficult it'd be yet at this point it couldn't be that large in scale I'd think.

Mormons are doable, but the copperheads were semi-pro union so I very highly doubt it
