That was a quick change of mind. Just curious, what tone/vibe were you looking for in contrast to what you're getting here?

Everyone's history is so detailed, while I expected to figure out how the god I created was worshipped and the stories that would happen with her after this RP started. Oh, and no accepted or declined my application yet although there wasn't anything in it that said "WIP".

Just look at the old RP for how I expected this to go down.

I'm very sorry about your departure but from now on i'm trying to keep the rp a bit more lighthearted by fiddling on the god app, i'm very curious over what else could be done to change the tone of the rp to best suit a best mutual interest

Name: Yudhasuryadeva

Epiphet(s): Sol, the light in the darkness, bane of serpents

Domain(s): Sun and combat

Personality: he is seen as stoic at first glance but upon further inspection he is actually kind and caring especially to his followers, he likes to fight because he finds it fun and is always looking for a good challenge but he will only kill those who deserve to be killed, he can also be very competitive in many other things, he mostly keeps to himself and is pretty careless most of the time.

Appearance: Yudhasuryadeva has the appearance of a human with some differing features like his height,
He is about 210 centimeters tall with pale white skin and hair and he has yellowish eyes, lastly he isn't very muscly but looks kind of thin due to his armor but after taking off his armor anyone can notice that his physique is very athletic not thin.

Equipment:
Weapon: an ornate shape shifting golden bow called Gandiva (the bow is it's true and strongest form, which will not be seen at the start of the RP so gods will not know about it also it can only transform into other weapons like swords, spears, axes etc)

Armour: a gold coloured plate mail armour called Suryakavacha said to be impenetrable by mortal and semi-divine weapons because it can only be destroyed by divine weapons

History: after the demise of the old gods, Yudhasuryadeva awoke from the carcass of the old solar god and consumed his remaining Mana, he spent his days looking for new celestials and carcasses of the old gods filled with Mana to consume

It's complete

GOD APP
Name:
Talvarda/Talarin

Epiphet(s):
  • Of Long Memory
  • Our Lady of Tradition
  • Runegiver
  • Teacher of Men
  • The Old Goddess
Domain(s):
  • Tradition
  • History
  • Memory of the Ages
  • Patience
  • Caution
  • Kindness
Personality:
The embodiment of all of her domains, Talvarda is often seen as a kindly and patient deity. Never wrathful, often kind to her creations, but always cautious and reserved. She sees her role more as a teacher of her people than as a provider. After she had consolidated her own people, the Seldârion, in the fertile and rolling plains of Atal-Dyr, the next creation she made was the writing which the Seldârion still use today, otherwise known as the Talarioch Runes, an indelible system of writing immune to the passage of time, which the Seldâron use to record their history, their sacred texts, recipes, proverbs, songs, poems... Perhaps most crucially with all of this, Talvarda taught her people the value of memory, and the diligence to record, for posterity, what might otherwise be lost to history. Perhaps most of all, Talvarda is deeply aware of her own lack of power. She does not consider herself the most powerful or the most accomplished deity. However, she deems her importance to be the memory of that which others might be quick to forget, and the teaching of lessons from the past. Many consider her to possess a heightened sense of self-importance, partially due to what she considers to be her truly sacred task.

Appearance:
Talvarda always appears, both to mortals and to other deities, as a kindly old woman, with a round face, upon which always lies a faint and nostalgic smile. Most crucially, however, her grey eyes betray the sight of things long forgotten by many, and the wisdom of ages gone past. Dressed in a brown shawl, carrying a gnarled oak staff, and to the individual who looks more closely, carrying on her back a great number of tomes and scrolls which seem to bow her back and weigh heavily upon her.

Equipment:
Talvarda carries her staff, again, made of gnarled wood. Whether she needs it to stand is not fully known, but she constantly carries it with her. Another item, or rather set of items, that she always carries with her is her set of tomes and scrolls, recording in intricate detail various histories and lessons from the past.

Background:
Talvarda was not the first New God, nor was she the most storied. But in the time after the cataclysm of the Old Gods, Talvarda considered it her duty to try and regain what was lost, to try and maintain what was to come, and to ensure that the memory of the ages was never forgotten. Emerging into the new world that had been forged from the ashes of the old, she compiled her collection of tomes and scrolls. She despised the idea of losing the memory of mistakes gone by, sure in her belief that the forgetting of history would doom both mortals and gods to repeat it.

It was during this moment of scouring the annals of history, hoping to find something to derive from, that she came across a group of struggling humans. She pitied these humans, unable to cope with the blistering cold of the lands they found themselves in. With a great exertion of mana, Talvarda transported these individuals to a fertile plain. The land soon became known as Atal-Dyr - Land of Salvation - and the people became the Seldârion, the Blessed Folk of Talvarda. In a second moment of kindness, Talvarda blessed the Seldârion with another gift - she created a system of runes, and imbued them with magical power. These runes, when written in stone, were immune to the effects of time. Short of grinding the entire stone into dust, these runes would remain fixed and unchanging. With this, Talvarda settled as the teacher and guardian of her Seldârion people.

CIV APP
Name:
Seldârion Eldership

Government Type:
De facto meritocracy under a gerontocratic council

Ruler:
The Elder Council, headed by the High Elder. The current High Elder is Fâmon Saun.

Patron God(s):
Talvarda

Species:
Human

Culture:
The Seldârion Eldership is based around the lessons of their patron deity, Talvarda. The Seldârion possess the Talarioch Runes, the indelible runes of Talvarda, which allow them to record their history, religious texts and all documents in stone and ensure they are kept almost indefinitely secured. The people of Atal-Dyr, the geographic region in which the Eldership resides, are a simple folk, mostly farmers, artists and philosophers, not used to martial matters and certainly not wishing it upon their people. As is to be expected, the Seldârion possess a rich written canon, with their faith and customs being written down obsessively.

Brief History:
Found wandering the land in a post-catastrophic world, the people who now comprise the Seldârion were lost and confused in the icy tundra of the far north. However, the goddess Talvarda took pity on them, and at great effort, moved them all to the fertile lands of Atal-Dyr. The people were truly indebted to her, and began to worship her. Her provisions did not end there, however, as Talvarda saw it as her duty to impart the wisdom of knowing one's history upon the Seldârion folk, and gave them the Talarioch Runes to write their history and customs with. They grasped tightly onto this gift. They settled into their lives as peaceful folk, living on the land and at peace. Most of the Eldership's land became occupied by small wood-and-stone villages, with shrines and temples to Talvarda, and the only large towns being the homes of political capitals within the Eldership, even then lying fairly small. Crucially, the Eldership is ill-defended, and likely will remain as such unless Talvarda takes it upon herself to provide them with the means to defend themselves later on.

Anything else:
The land of Atal-Dyr would be one of, if not the, most fertile regions in the world. This would likely cause the land to be coveted, though the Eldership would not be able to defend itself alone. They would want to remain in their lives of peace and harmony. Perhaps, though, if their situation darkens, they shall learn that readiness pays, and history shall reflect the fact that the Seldârion must defend their interests and their peace.

RELIGION APP
Name:
Vaen-Atal, the Atalic Faith, the Faith of Salvation, the Seldârion Faith.

Rules:
The six cardinal tenets of the Vaen-Atal are as follows:
  1. The past is the teacher of the future. Learn from it, and grasp its wisdom tightly.
  2. The present fades, and with it, knowledge. Record its lessons for the future.
  3. The way of patience shall lead to rewards. Keep the faith, and await future benefit.
  4. Hoarded riches are never enjoyed fully. There is joy in sharing one's wealth and prosperity.
  5. Never lack mercy, for in mercy not given lies the foundation of despair.
  6. Be dutiful, remain true, and allow your work to enrich others, as others' work enriches you.
History:
The history of the Vaen-Atal, or the Faith of Salvation, is largely the history of the Seldârion people. Crucially, the faith lacks much in the way of stratified hierarchy, instead largely being the cumulative efforts of the Seldârion people to live in peace with each other and nature, and to have prosperity awarded to them.

Current Leader:
There is no leader of the Seldârion faith. There are wandering (often mendicant) preachers, who often roam the countryside and who tend to the temples in each town and village, as well as collating documents and assisting in the raising of runestones.

Anything else:
The faith does maintain libraries within the temples in towns and villages, which are open to public use.

A Note on Talarioch Runes:
I intend to make some Talarioch Runes for use in the RP, but the main feature of them is their indelibility. As mentioned before, when carved into stone, anything short of turning the stone to dust will not be able to remove the Runes. When carved into wood, burning only seems to cause the runes to glow brighter, and while the wood will eventually burn away, where the runes once sat remains smouldering long after the rest of the fire's remains are extinguished. On paper, the runes aren't particularly special, but once written, the ink will not smudge, even if left in the rain or in a stream, and the paper they are written on takes a while longer to gather dust. Essentially, the Talarioch Runes make the Seldârion people's mission of the recording of history a much easier endeavour, but they must still remain vigilant to record whatever they can, ensuring the proper care of texts in any form is maintained.
