In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
in Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

October 17, 1914.
3 months ago, the Central Powers of Austro-Hungary and the German Empire, went to war with the Triple Entente of France, England, and the Russian Empire. Now, both sides are engaged in a back and forth struggle to seize the northern flank of their opponent. The Germany Army has been on the attack for several months, however, the Entente powers have held them off, beating the German first Army at the Marne. Now, a month later, the German 4th Army is on the attack, pressing on the Ypres region of Belgium. French, British, and Belgian forces are rushing to stop them, and maybe even launch a counterattack. This battle will set the tone for the rest of the war, categorized by months of stagnate fighting and tens of thousands of casualties. This battle will forever be remembered by history, the men who died at this battle will never be forgotten. But the outcome of the battle is yours to affect. Your leadership as a general might save the lives of thousands or change the tide of the battle, your bravery as an infantryman might save the frontline and buy your side time to react to the new scenario and change the tempo of the fight. Its up to you, how will you fight?
Now, you can fight in the 1st Battle of Ypres, either as the Germans, or the French or English. You can fight in the trenches, miles back with the field artillery, or at Headquarters commanding the great armies as they struggle for dominance in the War to End All Wars.
