Not a full post, but wanted to get that section up for Imps to reply too before doing the rest of my post.

Unlikely

I'm sure the Rebs would've said the same thing about enemy troops rising from the dead

Nice. Perhaps I could arrange a visit to Betreuen in the next post.

But I'm waiting for your co-write to be posted first, though.

My planet is far away from the Hyperborea region... and there's no marauder or raider factions lurking nearby

Just hoping that the Soviets could hop into the battle, if there's a chance

They're relatively close enough that could be considered their own system, but they each still orbit different stars. It's essentially just like how Alpha Centauri works.

Europa Undivided wrote:Name: Fyodor Alexander Karamazov
Nickname: Fyodor; Sasha; Fyodsie
Age: 36
Birth Date:
Gender: A man
Planet of Origin: Fyodor was born on the ecumonopolis of Eldras, which is located near the Core. He hasn't been there since he was 20.
Race/Species: Human
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 71 kilograms
Physical Description or Image: (Image)
Social Class: Noble; firstborn son of the house.
Titles: The Prodigal Son, Arch-Explorer
Occupation: He is the Chief Executive Officer of the League of Seekers. They seek out ancient ruins and artifacts, though the Seekers also doubles as a mercenary company if need be.
Hobbies/Pastimes:
[*] Flirting
[*] Reading texts on ancient history
[*] Drinking when bored
[*] Writing a diary

Talents/Skills:
[*] Gunslinger: Fyodor wields one handed firearms with special proficiency.
[*] Survival: If he ever gets stranded in an uncivilized alien world, one can expect him to survive for quite a long time, hopefully long enough for rescue to come.
[*] Scheming: While completely disinterested in politics, he does have a talent for intrigue, which is how he survived despite being disowned.
[*] Swordsmaster: Being a former Noble, he has been trained in wielding the blade.
Religious Beliefs: Catheric; he always attended Mass.
Personality: Fyodor Karamazov is known for being one of the few people of Noble blood who want no part in all the intrigue and premeditated murder that plagues high society. Rather, he is, like his late cousin, obsessed with searching for ancient artifacts, and even goes as far as stealing eons old heirlooms off other noble families, if they had been particularly annoying for his tastes. This latter part is always done by hiring others to do it.

Fyodor does not respect nobles at default; he firmly believes that position and power should be earned, not inherited. He thinks that the pains of the Imperium today are the product of the degeneracy of its bureaucracy and the inherent flaws of the system. He does not think that this will be remedied in the foreseeable future, and to this end, he sees the future as one where the Imperium declines over millennia until it shatters into a hundred pieces from its own weight.

He is rather sentimental, and is immensely loyal to friends and family.

Biography: Fyodor was born as the heir apparent of one of the Great Houses of the Imperium, the Karamazovs. A whole subsector lay within the clan's grasp; there were no less than 500 worlds in their domain, which had been a hefty reward for their ancestors' aid against the Terranists during the Schism. The lords and ladies of his house expected him to be their next patriarch, the ruler of all these worlds.

Unfortunately, Fyodor himself was not at all excited by this whole deal with being the master of five hundred worlds. He was… well, intelligent, charming, and had business acumen, but he had this laidback attitude that almost every other noble would find to be intolerable. He would show no interest towards the prospect of blackmailing or assassinating one's rivals, preferring instead to gloss over history and its relics. After all, his disowned cousin, Morai, was already the leader of a guild of explorers, and had been kicked out of the House's line of inheritance for the same reason. She had been allowed to visit, though, and she filled Fyodor's mind with dreams of adventure in the far flung territories whenever she came. She spurred on the boy's desire for independence, and would soon have him come along at times, much to the chagrin of the rulers of the house. Angry that she had been 'corrupting' the man that they would happily marry off to some princess of another house for political gain, they had Morai assassinated. That was, however, right before the day that Fyodor announced his intentions to relinquish his claim to the House's throne.

Without knowing the demise of his cousin, Fyodor went on to publicly give away his birthright to his beloved younger brother, Nicholas. Furious, his own relatives removed him from the glittering spires upon which he had been born, sending him away with nothing but the clothes on his back.

Trudging away, he would almost immediately encounter an entourage of guards… well, former guards of his. They had decided to come with their young (former) prince, as he had been good to them all those years. The guards were accompanied by the explorers from Morai's guild, who informed Fyodor of her assassination. He was supposed to be next, but the guild had already picked off the assassins.

Fyodor was, at that same moment, introduced to the League of Seekers. Over a period of ten years, he would work his way to the top, as the League was strictly meritorious. He eventually became its CEO, though it is often joked that this was only in name as he usually let the council have the responsibilities, intervening only when there are extremely important decisions. For his own part, Fyodor was usually out there within an Explorator Grand Cruiser, seeking out treasures in ancient tombs and ruins whilst braving the danger of it all. And, well, sometimes he is a mercenary, but adventure always comes first.

Name of Territory: League of Seekers
Government: Corporation
Capital World: The League's operations stem from its principal space station, Baleras. It is around 120 kilometers long and 30 kilometers wide.
Population: 13 billion
Economy: All of the planets within the system (except for the continental one) are essentially corporate assets. While originally a mere collection of like minded archaeologists, the League has expanded into a full blown corporation. One of the more well known kind of goods that come from Sauriga are extremely valuable artifacts from long lost ages, such as one/two eyed yellow idols from Terra itself, jewelry from the tombs of ancient alien emperors, and paintings that have somehow withstood the test of time. In short, Sauriga's market is heaven for exotic collectors.
Culture: The culture of Sauriga is essentially the same as that of the League, as most of the members of the latter hail from that planet. The Saurigans are known to be fiercely independent, and are keen on going out. Most citizens leave the planet at least once in their lives, as adventure is in their blood. Of course, there are always the same old roles in every society, but the Saurigans will always be famous for their wanderlust.
Social Structure: The League is completely meritocratic, as even the highest highborn that join it will always begin at the bottom. The bottom isn't so bad though, as the League is quite prosperous and is keen to sharing to everyone within it.
Territorial Size: The League has in its possession no less than thirty space stations distributed throughout the Sauriga System, wherein they control two barren planets, a volcanic planet, one continental planet, and an arctic planet. The gas giant does not count.
Military and Security Forces:

The security forces of the League function mostly as escorts for its deep space cruisers, and are crewed by men and women drawn from Sauriga. They also protect the assets and operations of the League in the system. These include mining in the asteroid belt and the barren worlds, shipbuilding in its stations, and tourism.

7,500 starfighters
500 Torpedo Boats
57 Missile Destroyers
27 Heavy Cruisers
2 Battlecruisers
27 Deep Space Exploration Cruisers (jump drive equipped)
2 Explorator Grand Cruisers (Luminal Drive equipped)

500 worlds as in? Inhabited? Or is only one, Eldras, inhabited and the rest are just considered part of the domain?

So most great houses have a planet with billions or a domain with billions spread out. Now I'm not looking to have a domain with hundreds of billions in a sector of worlds, just wanted to know myself.

Well if one is an ecumenopolis and the whole territory has 13 billion. They must be vary sparsely populated indeed. Just want to be sure this is what you're going with before I accept. As I don't allow sudden changes once you post in the IC.

It varies. Really most Great Houses have a core of a few worlds or up to a dozen. Then various other territories that are sparsely populated. Most Great Houses only have a few hundred planets at most. But there are outliers. A Great House may have a single star system they control while another has over a hundred planets but they're mostly sparsely populated backwaters or mining/farm communities. Really its one or the other as I don't really accept applications that try to be "perfect" with a player having strong everything.

I really hope for Betreuen, Imperial, and Soviets to work together against the Hyperboreans. Given how close the Federation of Free Systems is to the Front, I hope they join into too. That way we got a democratic, communist, monarchist, and ultranationalists working together.
