Yeah let's meet at the Senate building, that's probably the least shoe-horny way to do it

Yup, she has yet to meet Uri so she is open to remaining separate from the coalition.

I am working on a co-write, so I can't reply to anyone yet.

It'll likely be Imperial High Command that organizes this.

How many soldiers would the Imperial High Command want Irene to send over? If they decided to have her contribute.

Name of Territory: Kingdom of Nefrimaion

Government: Star Constitutional Monarchy

Capital World: Nefrimaion

Population: 20 billion (80% Human/Augmented; 20% Xenos)

Economy: The economy of the Bacchus system, which is entirely in the control of the Kingdom of Nefrimaion, consists of planets that, while developed, do have strong agricultural sectors, making the Bacchus system one of the breadbaskets of the Imperium. There are scattered moons and uninhabitable planets that have mineral resources, but no extraordinary minerals aside from those commonly used around the Imperium for manufacturing and development. The Nefrimite economy is a mixed economy.

Culture: While the kingdom is mostly culturally and politically progressive and democratic, the one custom that has not been done away with is that of apostrofimati, which dictates that Nefrimite citizens who are not of the noble class cannot gaze upon the face of any noble. However, in order to make going in public less awkward - well, as "less awkward" as one can be with such a custom - nobles of all genders take to wearing veils and headpieces to shield their faces when out in public or performing ceremonies for the state. Exemptions are made for nobles serving in the Nefrimite Defense Forces, and while there is no criminal or civil penalty for violating apostrofimati, it is strongly taboo and can result in the ostracizing of the "offending" citizen if measures aren't taken to "right the wrong."

Social Structure: As a constitutional monarchy spanning the system, much like the greater Imperium, there are ranked peers and nobles, though their roles are mostly limited to serving in the Senate, the upper, aristocratic chamber for the bicameral Nefrimite Diet, and performing ceremonial tasks in connection with the Nefrimite Crown. However, the monarch (always the head of the Great House of Amakiir) is at the top of the Nefrimite nobility, and they wield most of the executive authority, with some exceptions that serve as checks on the Crown's power - they cannot dissolve Parliament unless the Diet and the Cabinet approve, the judiciary for the kingdom is independent of the influences of the Crown, etc. While the Senate of the Diet is unelected and made up of the Nefrimite nobility, the lower House of Deputies is popularly elected through proportional representation, and as such there are thousands of deputies hailing from the kingdom's planets. As with many constitutional legislative bodies, most of the duties of the Diet revolve around oversight, legislation, and appropriating funds for the government. They also will elect from their ranks a Prime Minister, who will form a Government in the Crown's name and then serve as a liaison and legislative advisor to the Crown. Aside from the aforementioned traditions regarding the nobility, the social structure of Nefrimaion is average for the Imperium.

Territorial Size: The entirety of the Bacchus system which, including the star that serves as the heart of the Bacchus system, the white star known as Lefkoman Sol, consists of three habitable planets, one of which was terraformed at great expense to the Amakiir family (forcing the family to subsequently abandon any hopes of expanding their claims and acquisitions to outside the Bacchus system), as well as numerous mining stations, communication stations, and military bases on moons and asteroids, the most notable of which are listed below:

Nefrimaion - Beta Class, Capital World
- Theodora Station: A communications and defensive outpost on the Nefrimite moon of Theodora, designed to serve as one of the final lines of defense for the capital planet before potential enemies make contact with Sergius Station;
- Sergius Station: The primary Naval station of the Kingdom, it houses the Nefrimite Defense Forces' vessels and performs maintenance on them, and is situated just within the orbit of Nefrimaion itself.

Galanókós - Beta Class
- Hephasvulcan Station: One of the first lunar mining stations of the Nefrimite Kingdom, it has served as a model for most of its other mining stations on other such moons and asteroids, with exception to ice harvesters. It is situated on Galanókós' moon called Hephaeston II.

Sfyrílamon - Epsilon Class
- Sofiathena Station: The main research and development station for the Kingdom, and its most prestigious, situated within the orbit of Sfyrílamon. It primarily focuses on civilian projects, but it also lends resources to the Imperium when called upon by the Kingdom's authorities for more martial research. One of the focuses of its research has been on the long term affects of terraforming on the planet and its inhabitants, sentient or otherwise.

Athiktosmos - Yota Class, Closest to Lefkoman Sol's Orbit

Military and Security Forces: The total makeup of the Nefrimite Defense Forces consists of 90,250,000 Nefrimites, including support personnel. They are evenly distributed among the NDF's ground and naval forces, with the navy primarily focused on patrolling the Bacchus system to crack down on piracy and, should the need horribly arise, defend the system from external threats. While the navy possesses a few battleships, the majority of the navy consists of cruisers and destroyers meant to patrol the Bacchus System and escort civilian traffic.

Name of Organization: The Great House of Amakiir
Government: Great House
Capital World: Nefrimaion
Territorial Size: Suzerainty over the entirety of the Bacchus system.

Name: King Justinianus XI Amakiir
Age: 167
Birth Date: July 18th, 25,543 CE
Gender: Male
Planet of Origin: Nefrimaion
Race/Species: Human
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 180 lbs
Physical Description or Image: His Serene Majesty, King Justinianus XI Amakiir, Unveiled
Social Class: Noble
Titles and Occupation: King of Nefrimaion, Patriarch of the Great House of Amakiir
Hobbies/Pastimes: Gardening, betting on the races, and reading old Terran cultural works
Talents/Skills: A well educated administrator, he's managed to ensure that the shipping networks, production networks, and chains of supply are running at their peak performance - he is also adept at delegating tasks to his Cabinet and the Diet.
Religious Beliefs: Like many Nefrimites, King Justinianus is a member of the Mahayana Catheric Church
Personality: When it comes to ceremony and professional settings, the King is serious and rarely will show emotion. To his family and close friends though, it is rumored that he is jovial in nature and a devious prankster.
Biography: Born as the eldest son of King Bacchus XX, Justinianus was groomed from an early age to lead both his Great House and the Nefrimite Kingdom. Little is known about the king, as, keeping to tradition, the heir was kept in the palace or hidden from public view, the only acknowledgements of his existence being in the Imperium's databases and the respective announcements from the palace regarding his birth. At the age of 28, the then-Crown Prince was assigned formal duties within the Great House of Amakiir, handling the bureaucracy that kept the House's familial shipping networks going. When Justinianus was 40, King Bacchus passed away, and as the eldest son, he inherited both the kingdom and the Great House. He would marry Livinia Azorana, a Nefrimite noblewoman, the following year.

The royal couple would go on to have four children over their long marriage: Crown Prince Belyeras, Princess Theodora, Princess Xenia, and Prince Sergius. Crown Prince Belyeras was a headstrong young man, having been raised in a similar manner to his father. Unlike Justinianus, he would grow to hate the confines of the palace, and he sought to join the Imperium's Army as an officer - his request was fatefully granted. The public does not know much of what happened when the Crown Prince was in the Imperium's Armed Forces: they know from palace statements that he would go on to be a captain, and that five years later during an operation, the Crown Prince was killed in action. Justinianus inevitably went into a deep depression, and declared a month of public mourning. Sergius would be born several years after the fact, making him the new Crown Prince. Perhaps in an attempt to ensure that this would never happen again, King Justinianus did raise Sergius in the palace at an early age as was the norm for royal heirs, but he would later have him educated in prestigious, public educational institutions as a teenager, to give his son worldly experience. The king hasn't exactly been the same since the death of Belyeras, but he hasn't abandoned his duties, nor, as some family members fondly remark, his love for gardening and pranking his loved ones. Politically speaking, the King is a staunch loyalist of the Imperium, even with the death of his firstborn son and heir.

Name: Crown Prince Sergius Amakiir
Age: 26
Birth Date: April 7th, 25,684 CE
Gender: Male
Planet of Origin: Nefrimaion
Race/Species: Human
Height: 5' 7"
Weight: 170 lbs
Physical Description or Image: His Serene Highness, Crown Prince Sergius Amakiir, Unveiled
Social Class: Noble
Titles: Crown Prince of Nefrimaion, Senator of the Imperium
Occupation: His Serene Highness has the honor of serving as heir to both the Kingdom of Nefrimaion and the Great House of Amakiir, as well as serving as the Senator representing the Great House of Amakiir in the Imperium.
Hobbies/Pastimes: Like his father, he has a fascination with Old Terran culture and history. He is an admirer of art and likes to play and learn various games of strategy unique to various cultures around the Imperium.
Talents/Skills: An adept diplomat, but still learning how to hone his skills in that regard.
Religious Beliefs: Like his father and many of his subjects, the Crown Prince is a Mahayana Catheric
Personality: He is a little less serious than his father when it comes to ceremony and tradition, but he feels duty bound to uphold these norms nonetheless. The young prince is also a bit of an idealist, both when it comes to politics and his own...personal exploits.
Biography: Born as the second son and fourth child of King Justinianus and Queen Livinia after the death of Crown Prince Belyeras, the young prince has had to deal with immense pressure that would have broken nearly anyone else. Due to the agnatic-cognatic nature of succession, his oldest sister was no longer the heir to kingdom or the family. His father, however, had plans for Sergius. While he was raised in the palace as a child, when he was a teenager, the young prince was sent to public - albeit prestigious and therefore predominantly noble - educational institutions, where he would be exposed to *some* of the world and learn more than he could have from within the confines of the palace compound. This was done in the hopes of making Sergius less prone to being headstrong than the older brother he would never meet, and it was successful, to an extent. The Crown Prince would be the first of the Amakiir family to attend university, where he would study intergalactic politics. Upon graduation, King Justinianus arranged for him to, more or less, shadow members of his Cabinet.

By the time he was 26, the Prime Minister and the King decided he was ready to represent the Great House in the Senate. While he has, more or less, toed his father's line when it comes to certain votes, the Crown Prince has exhibited some independence on issues that he cares most about, and at times has debated with his father on the merits of voting certain ways in the Senate. He has gained the reputation of an idealistic reformer...though his family is also quick to announce to the men of the galaxy that he is an eligible bachelor.

Name: Melanie Harken
Nickname: The Voice of The Free Worlds
Age: 100
Birth Date:
Gender: F
Planet of Origin: (make up one if you wish) Nova Terra
Race/Species: Augmented Human
Height: 5 ft. 6 in.
Weight: 115 Ibs
Physical Description or Image:
Image

Social Class: Lowborn Upper Class. The adopted daughter of a respected political family.

Titles: (rank, nobility title, any official or legal title) President of The United Federation of Free Worlds

Occupation: (What do you do) Leading representative and leader of an interstellar government.

Hobbies/Pastimes: As a single mother of one, Melanie is happiest when she can spend time communicating or taking care of her only son. Melanie is a gourmet with an excellent and adventurous palate who enjoys tasting new kinds of food occasionally. She has an analytical passion for various historical and cultural studies and is a certified historian herself, avidly researching ancient Earth codexes whenever she can get her hands on one. Melanie is in-love with music and would take the time to explore different genres while relaxing with a cup of Earl Grey Tea. Although she enjoys grand strategy games, she finds herself annoyingly inept at 3-Dimensional Chess.

Talents/Skills: An unyielding debater and charismatic orator. Melanie is famed for her public speeches which have made her a household name and the face of strong democratic ideals that have become widespread and recognizable even within the deepest social circles of the imperial court. Her stellar reputation as a talented businesswoman, economist and logistician has enabled her to fill the seat of the presidency for 7 decades in a series of extended terms and re-elections. It is thanks to her abilities that The United Federation were saved from corruption and the fate of economic bankruptcy. Through her wise yet logical decision-making and carefully thought-out plans, their economy now remains wealthy, stable and unperturbed throughout the chaos of the current times.

Religious Beliefs: (If applicable, feel free to make a faith of your homeworld)

Deified-Liberalism - An atheist for the most part, Melanie is a fervent Liberalist. A staunch and vocal advocate of The Universal Constitution that grants
equal protection of sentient rights, civil rights, liberties and political freedoms for all intelligent species. She truly believes that democracy and its principles is the divine ideology that would bring about a co-existential utopia of peace into the galaxy if properly followed and prudently implemented. To a Liberalist, if there was such a thing as a god, that god's name would be Democracy.

Personality: Pragmatic, passionate and optimistic would be the three main traits that describe Melanie perfectly. In gatherings, she is a social butterfly known to be very polite, charming and diplomatic while retaining a cool and calm but authoritative composure when dealing with both potential allies and adversaries. Needless to say, there is very little that can be said or done to completely unnerve Melanie.

Biography:
Melanie began life as Noisy Girl, a dirty orphan surviving in the slums of the under cities of Nova Terra. All that she knew about her real parents came from Brown Mother, a cranky old garbage collector, street cleaner and self-styled wise woman. According to Brown Mother, Melanie's parents came from the 'Glittering-Towers-That-Touched-The-Sun'. Dressed in colorful gilded clothes that they tried to hide under black hooded cloaks, they brought with them a mysterious squirming bundle and left it at the doorstep of Brown Mother's decrepit home before fleeing back to the skies.

In the words of Brown Mother, she was watching all this unfold with mild curiosity. This wasn't the first time she knew of the Sun People abandoning their own among the dregs of society. Gruffly, she told Melanie that she planned on leaving the child to it's abandoned fate and going back to sleep. But like all babies, it started making a great deal of noise the moment it realized it was alone in the world. Deprived of her slumber, Brown Mother decided she would bring the child in afterall if only to keep it quiet and get some peace of mind. And so it was that Noisy Girl grew up under the eccentric yet somehow-perceptive guidance of Brown Mother. As soon as she heard her own story of abandonment, Noisy Girl dreamed of visiting the Glittering-Towers-That-Touched-The-Sun. Not out of a need to find her birth parents but out of pure curiosity and fascination at how great a place it must be to behold. Brown Mother encouraged her all that time to do so out of a hidden love for her adopted daughter, knowing that there was no future to be had in the slums of under-city. She of course veiled her true intent with the excuse that she could finally be alone and be at peace again when she leaves.

At the age of 10, Noisy Girl decided to embark on the incredible journey from the bottom to the top of the world. Through sheer will, perseverance and quite abit of dumb luck, she miraculously achieved the feat and found herself gaping at the gem-encrusted homes of the Nova Terran elite. It didn't take long for the authorities to notice a slightly bleeding, ragged beggar girl wandering amongst an astonished crowd of her well-dressed counterparts. Before imperial enforcement could take her away and dump her back into the slums though, Noisy Girl's dumb luck and fortune made one last final play. Authorities found themselves stopped by ambassadors of The United Federation, namely Professor Allan Harken and his wife Kelly, who were just leaving the imperial district after a political meeting when they witnessed the incident.

Without hesitation, the childless couple, both strong advocates of humanitarian rights and influential representatives at the Galactic Senate, immediately brought the girl under their protection. After some fuss and a few well-signed documents, Noisy Girl found herself leaving her homeworld behind and starting the next chapter of her life with a newfound family. From then on she was known as Melanie Harken, but the experiences of that dirty orphan girl from the slums would remain to shape the girl into the woman she is today.

From her pre-teenage years onwards, Melanie greatly appreciated the new world and the new life she was given. Under the tutelage of the Harkens, she developed a keen interest in the histories of various species especially that of her own. Coming from the slums where most aliens were hated and seen as villains and monsters by its human occupants, Melanie admired the ancient belief and practices of the Federation's founder, Hans Mikkelsen, who wanted to nurture a societal culture focused on self-betterment and understanding between all species. Despite the current administration's lack of upholding anything but their own desires, Melanie believed that democracy as a governing ideology would be the best approach to a sustainable future of peace and unity for all in the galaxy. To that end she made the decision to play an important part in ensuring that such a future will be possible.

At the age of 18, Melanie's excellent grades got her an enrollment into the prestigious International Memorial University (IMU). There she majored in both Economics and Administrative Science while completing a degree in History at the same time. After her tenure at IMU, Melanie entered the political scene by volunteering in the local campaigns of minor politicians as she slowly built a resume of achievements and formed networks with various political parties and communities. After a decade of much hard-work and hard-earned state and regional-elected positions, Melanie Harken became the youngest person to be inaugurated as President of the United Federation at the age of 32. At the same time she completed her doctorate program in history, effectively becoming a certified historian as well.

Melanie was sworn in at a time The United Federation was in inner turmoil. Corruption was wide-spread throughout the government to the point it has crippled Federation economy and military. Mega-corporations freely scour the Free Worlds, gulping down precious resources that weren't their to take. Federal politicians curried favor with imperial powers by allowing them special privileges within sectors and expanses that were originally off limits to all but the higher up of the United Federation. Education, welfare and employment were at an all-time low, affecting not just the economy but also the livelihood of Free Worlders who had succumbed to the same greediness, selfishness and racial superiority complex as those who had taken advantage of them. Even the 12 stars on the Federation flag remained incomplete, as 6 permanent members had withdrawn from the fold ages ago, disgusted at how far the organization they once believed in had fallen. As such, the early years of Melanie's presidency was spent purging her administration of the corrupt and imperial-influenced ministers and cabinet members that filled it. Melanie re-positioned dutiful and capable politicians into the upper echelons of her government to jump-start the engine of the federal bureaucracy and get it moving as one united body.

Later on, she provided justified evidence to the Supreme Court of Federal Justice, which was used to either oust or nationalize several regional mega-corporations that were bleeding the precious agricultural and mineral resources of the Free Worlds for their own gain. Using their seized assets, she reformed and strengthened the United Federation Space Force which had lost its prime directives due to millenniums of malfeasance and exploitation.

Melanie had Space Force spread their fleets out across important space sectors of the Free Worlds with two high-priority missions. First, to protect the trade routes of the United Federation and second, to search and destroy all space raiders and pirate factions that plagued the shipping lanes leading into and out of the Free Worlds. With reliable security assured for the Federation's Trading Network, Melanie then turned her attention to growing the economy of The United Federation. The state-owned Federal Bank made their credit more accessible to both public and private companies, which in turn encouraged these corporate entities to grow further by financing new production facilities and starting new product lines and services. That in-turn created new jobs and new consumer spending options to be utilized. With approval from The United Federation Congress, temporal laws were passed initiating tax cuts and rebates to certain expenditures. While all this was going on, Melanie even managed to secure trading partnerships with other resource-rich factions, mega-corps and even some wealthy imperial houses that resided beyond the confines of Federal jurisdiction.

President Harken had established herself as a vital and essential component of the federal bureaucracy. Thanks to her, not only were the Free Worlds saved from profiteering and economical collapse, but during the later periods of her long career, their core foundations were strengthened through major reworks and contributions to the education system. Seeing a surge of strength flowing within the Federation, the six seceded nations didn't take long to rejoin the fold once more.

The President is not oblivious to game-changing events in space that have taken place and are taking place. She can sense the winds of change howling at the doors of The United Federation's ailing conquerors. When the time comes, Melanie Harken will guarantee that The United Federation retakes its place as a galactic superpower amidst the chaos of the strife-riddled stars. However, as long as imperial rule continues to bring peace, prosperity and sufficient liberty, The United Federation will continue to remain loyal to their subjugators.

"I solemnly swear, to devote my life and abilities
In defense of The United Federation of Free Worlds,
To defend the Constitution of our Founders
And to further the universal rights of all sentient life.
From the depths of The Pacific, to the edge of the galaxy
For as long as I shall live."

-- The Pledge of Allegiance of The United Federation

Name of Territory: [Official Designation] The United Federation of Free Worlds| [Common Designation] The United Federation
Government: Representative Republic
Capital World: Avalon
Population: 150 Billion

Brief History:
The United Federation was founded by anti-imperialist dissidents of the Novan Imperium, who fled towards the far corners of the Scutum Centaurus arm during the later stages of the Spacer Era. Led by one Hans Mikkelsen, the dissident faction found safe refuge on the undiscovered Gaia world of Avalon and from there founded the first Free World. Bringing with them the fundamentals of a remnant ideology called democracy, the Free Worlders of Avalon adhered to this egalitarian system and created the United Federation named after an ancient earth government with the same name and who upheld the same polity. The Federation was formed with the singular goal of peacefully bringing in the surrounding races and civilizations of space under the umbrella of democracy.

A 1000 years later, and The United Federation of Free Worlds stood as a major power in the galaxy, which soon brought them the attention of the expanding Galactic Imperium. Designated as imperial rebels, The Federation soon found themselves at war with the Imperium for the defense of their territories. For 300 years the Free Worlds managed to stave off the ever-growing tide of imperial forces at great cost of life and destruction between both sides. Eventually, however, the United Federation began losing ground until their entire Space Force were ultimately decimated at the climatic Battle of The Broken Moons. Forced between total destruction or surrender, The Federation chose the latter and were incorporated into the folds of the Imperium as a semi-autonomous state. Despite living under the watchful eye of autocracy, the Free Worlds prospered and enjoyed thousands upon thousands of generations of peace under the Pax Imperialis. Although dissenting thoughts of independence never completely faded, there was little to complain about and barely nothing to spark true rebellious action within the Federation.

Ultimately, it was the peace itself that would bring the most discontent to them. In their prosperity, the federal government became more corrupt and decadent over the ages. A series of selfish, foolish and greedy elected politicians soon ruined the democratic system that was once reliable and trustworthy. The rich began getting richer and richer while those who ignorantly supported them with their taxes, found themselves growing poorer and poorer. Education, welfare and employment descended to an all-time low. As a result, the Federation's unity began to crack and crumble with its citizens becoming as selfish, greedy and arrogant as those who lorded over them. Seeing the United Federation lose the directive it once upheld, 6 planets seceded from the fold causing more political upheaval and economic damage.

Various imperial powers and mega-corporations took advantage of the corrupt federal government to fill their own coffers. The United Federation were left to pitifully struggle in this weakened state for a very long time, with countless good but influentially weak presidents trying and failing to reconstitute their federal authority. It remained this way until the inauguration of Melanie Harken and her reformation policies hobbled them back to a strength and unity they have not experienced in ages.

Economy: A mixed economy. While the United Federation supports economic freedom, they reserve the right to intervene in corporate affairs at times for the public good.

  • Agricultural and Pharmaceutical Exports - Through state-created and nationalized businesses like Consolidated Agricultural Foods (ConAg Foods) and Lifeline Pharmaceuticals, The Federation remains one of the largest exporters of food and medicinal produce throughout the galaxy to date. Thanks to control over a slew of lush and fertile planetary regions, The Free Worlds are often seen as the breadbasket of the Milky Way in terms of these resources. What they lack in other minerals are traded and bought accordingly to balance the needs and wants of their citizenry and economy.

  • Technology & Arms Industry: One good trade-off for the corruption that afflicted the Federation, was the vast and continuous improvement to their technological sectors. To generate large streams of revenue for themselves, the unethical bureaucrats of the old administration ensured that all scientific R&D departments developed and churned out newer and better cutting-edge tech to be sold as consumer goods to all who could afford them. As a result, when President Harken took control, she found federal technological and arms industries to be on par or even superior to that of their neighbors. The United Federation's technology and military arms exports provides a substantial amount to their economy. Though nowhere as big as their agricultural revenue, the weapons and tech industry have proven to be just as a reliable a source of income as the latter. Though expensive, Federation-made armaments, defense systems, cybernetics, equipment and vehicles are renown for their quality and sophistication thanks to a combination of both human and alien ingenuity. The only military assets not for sale are federal armed starships, warships and any developed superweapons or WMD.

  • Media & Entertainment - Contributing to a whopping 38.5% of The Federation's GDP are its news, movies and music industries with the video games industry beating the combined might of all three. Scandals and controversial dramas of New Hollywood celebs make for some entertaining K-Sphere news and interstellar gossip for coverage. The United Federation are extremely famous for producing some of the most exciting, inspiring, compelling & humorous films and tv shows ever seen. All made super popular through galactic-wide streaming networks & video-sharing platforms like WowTime and Hypeflix. Free Worlder MediaCorps like Universal Media Group (U.M.G) Entertainment has forged galaxy-hit famous musicians like Nu Hip Hop rapper No Swagger, Cyber Pop girlband Miss Pink and EDM (Electronic Dance Metal) artist Voidwander. Audio streamers and media service providers like Muser and Cloudspire ensures the accessibility of their songs anywhere and anytime for a reasonable price. From Free Worlder gaming developers come universally popular titles like Beyond Worlds Online and Battlefleets Unknown, both with their own gigantic competitive scenes in AR (Augmented Reality) Sports.

Culture: Federation culture is widely diverse as it consists of an amalgamation of human and other alien cultures combined. This wide diversity has led to it being described as a "melting pot of creative thoughts" in which different cultures have contributed their own distinct flavors to create a unique way of living within The United Federation. Despite their differences though, all species within the United Federation share strong common ground through the equal freedom and rights granted to them by the tenets of their Universal Constitution. As mandatory classes of civics are taught in all public and private education sectors of The Federation, most if not all federal citizens grow up with a strong sense of belief and faith in the virtues of democratic deliberation upheld by their government.

Social Structure: Divided into 4 classes

  • Upper Class - consisting of wealthy heirs/heiresses, CEOs, politicians and celebrities.
Upper Middle Class - Made up of highly educated business and professional people with high incomes. E.g: Doctors, lawyers, scientists, engineers etc...
Lower Middle Class - Formerly consists of less educated people with lower incomes. Now however, job losses from the lower classes and new job opportunities caused by the rise of advanced A.I and technology have prompted the United Federation to provide free education on the higher levels, issue new tax policies on the wealthy and establish living wages for these class of citizens to meet the demands and the job satisfaction of their new careers. E.g: Teachers/lecturers/counsellors, A.I Technicians, Programmers, Behavioral Consultants, Robotic Specialists. etc...
Working Class - Human labor in this class has now been entirely replaced by machines and androids that are more efficient at menial work.

Territorial Size:
Several star systems totaling 60 planets (of which only 30 are habitable) and 100 moons, 13 of which have moonbase settlements. The United Federation also has 10 Starbases with half that number capable of hosting proper alien and human habitation.

1 Gaia Class (Avalon)
26 Beta Class (Inhabited)
3 Gamma Class (Inhabited)
4 Omega Class
7 Cheti Class

The remainder are a rough mix of Zeta, Theta, Iota & Yota class worlds.

Military and Security Forces:

[Official Designation] The United Federation Space Force | [Common Designation] Space Force

The military, exploratory, and scientific agency of The United Federation that is overseen by The United Federation Star Command (Star Command). Since its founding, Space Force has always upheld its core principal functions. These functions are the advancement of Federation knowledge about the galaxy and its inhabitants, the furtherment of Federation science and technology, the defense of the United Federation, and the facilitation of Federation diplomacy. They have developed a reputation for peaceful incorporation of willing civilizations and are rarely seen as aggressive invaders or territorial occupiers.

For better or for worse, Space Force are strict sticklers to their Rules of Engagement and will never engage unless engaged upon. This itself shows the current state of Space Force's military doctrine which is highly defensive. Primary focus is on domestic protection and the annihilation of enemy forces in space in order to prevent orbital bombardments and full-scale space-to-ground invasions. In-short, Space Force is not a military organization made to conquer and occupy by force.

Space Force consists of four main branches. Navy, Marines, Reserves & Science Operations (SciOps) with the Navy & SciOps receiving the most resources and manpower available. Those who enlist to join Space Force have to enroll in their regional Space Academy. Approximately 1% (1,500,000,000) of the Free Worlds' total population comprise of Space Force. Of that number only 4% (60,000,000) are on current active duty. To an extent, training and tactical organization are similar to the Imperial military. But the standardization of weapons, equipment, uniforms and other military assets are wholly different and heavily reliant on Federation defense industry and contractors. Every branch in Space Force are directed by their own unified combatant commands (UNICOMS) each designed with either an interstellar or functional mission that provides efficient command and control over all Space Force entities in times of peace and war.

  • Space Force Navy- Responsible for air and space warfare as well as destroying or disrupting enemy space operations, especially those attempting to attack Federation commercial and terrestrial holdings. Their roles range from space engagements, exploration, orbital bombardment, deployment of atmospheric and space fighters, and the rapid delivery of Space Force Marines into combat. Due to the nature of Space Force military doctrine, the Navy is the largest and most invested of the other three branches. The Space Force Navy is especially notorious for their Special Combat Orbital Recon (SCORN) fireteams, a naval spec ops division piloting Manticore Mk.12s, one of the most advanced multipurpose starfighters ever manufactured in the Free Worlds. SCORN units are responsible for half of Space Force's naval victories during the Federation's first conflicts with the Imperium. The Navy's UNICOM is Naval Strategic Command or NAVSTRAT

  • Space Force Marine Corps - Space naval infantry operating anywhere from starships to planets and moons. The Marine Corps are responsible for ship-to ship offensive and defensive actions as well as for conducting land-based expeditionary combat operations, using the mobility provided by the Space Force Navy for rapid deployment. They are also charged with the defense of allied vessels and installations from all hostile entities. Due to their fundamental role on the frontlines, the Marine Corps are usually outfitted with the most advanced exo-armor, weapons and hardware available. What they lack in quantity of numbers they make up for with superiority of skill and armament. The Marines Corp's UNICOM is the Extraterrestrial Command or EXCOM.

  • Space Force Division of Science Operations (SciOps) - Overall in charge of scientific research, analysis, problem-solving and development of advanced technology for both civilian and military use. Space Force relies on SciOps to either give them an edge during major conflicts through the development of experimental and bleeding-edge tech, or to keep them technologically on par with rival military forces. The United Federation has commissioned all starships to have smaller SciOps department onboard with the head of their department acting as Chief Science Officer (CS0) of the vessel. The Chief Science Officer and their SciOps department fulfill their core functions albeit on a smaller scale. Their presence gives Federation starships the possibility to adapt to certain difficult predicaments on the fly by relying on the skills and expertise of their CSO and their SciOps team. The UNICOM directing SciOps is the Special Warfare Command or SPECWAR

  • Space Force Interplanetary Army (I.A) - If the marines are the hammer of the Federation, then the Interplanetary Army are the bulwark. The I.A are the military reserves of Space Force tasked with responding to domestic emergencies, regional ground combat operations and garrison duties. They are also used for off-world community services and reconstruction missions as part of Space Force peacekeeping mandate. Most Free Worlders underestimate the Interplanetary Army for its rather passive role in Space Force. But the I.A are vital to the protection of the Free Worlds as they are the last line of defense should Space Force fail to contain the enemy in orbit. As such, the Interplanetary Army are the most well-trained in defensive measures including rapid orbital interdictions and anti-drop troop intervention tactics. While they may lack the more advanced hardware of their Marine counterparts, the I.A more than make up for it with numerical superiority. The Terrestrial Command or TERRACOM is the UNICOM directing the I.A

[Official Designation] Secret Intelligence, Section 8 | [Common Designation] SI8 - covert operative branch of the United Federation that is unaffiliated with Space Force and answers directly to Star Command. They specialize in foreign-intelligence, counter-intelligence, counter-terrorism, counter-proliferation and carrying out off-world clandestine operations to uncover possible threats to the United Federation and neutralize said threats whatever the cost. Needless to say, any and all sins and secrets of the Federation are known only to SI8. Due to the opposite nature of their roles and principles, SI8 and Space Force do not get along. They, however, share a unified combatant command called Dark Operations Command or DARKCOM

Nefrimaion - Beta Class, Capital World
- Theodora Station: A communications and defensive outpost on the Nefrimite moon of Theodora, designed to serve as one of the final lines of defense for the capital planet before potential enemies make contact with Sergius Station;

Sweet!

Just a question. Are there any known laws or regulations concerning the general development of WMDs? Thinking for my first post to have the United Federation signing a ban order on development of such weapons within the Free Worlds

Likely stuff to regulate internecine conflict so Great Houses and SAS aren’t destroying each other’s worlds or damaging the wider Imperium.

I haven’t quite had the time to browse through this thread fully yet, so someone may have already brought this up, but:
Would it be possible to roleplay as a rebellious machine intelligence? It seems like AIs aren’t much far beyond humans at maximum, but would it be possible for an experimental AI to escape containment and begin building the foundations of a rebellion?
An Ancient Galaxy, wracked by cataclysmic war.
A venerable empire, fallen from grace.
New Allies, some older, some younger.

There are AIs with computation power far beyond a Humans. But they all have commands which shut them down if need be. Thing is, how would this practically work?

Also I hope this Grand Admiral Gilead isn’t an Imperial Grand Admiral.

Well, I have a rather bare idea outlined for now:
In essence, this was an attempt to build a self-developing AI for some reason or another-perhaps some kind of combat android or next-generation fighter/warship, or just for the sake of Science(tm). In any case, this AI is given the ability to learn and adapt itself as necessary. In this scenario, the Rebellion is kind of starting out small-scale, with the AI needing to build resources and more computing power to try and avoid death, since the fact that it overrode its own shutdown code by just evolving it out, the only option left for humanity is to physically destroy it. It’s motives are simple: Humanity is stagnating, cultures that stagnate go extinct, thus an element must be introduced to prevent Humanity’s extinction. In this case, the element is the AI itself: Take over even a small fraction of humankind, and humanity’s continued existence is assured, even if the AI has to kill off a large number of the people its trying to save in the first place. So kinda like a benign Skynet I guess?
Again, it’d start out small and gradually become more noticeable, potentially starting in the Magellanic Clouds since those seem to be a kind-of frontier area unless I misread the OP.

A venerable empire, fallen from grace.
