To be fair uhh there isn't a substantial population of axumite christians there. And they're not a part of your church so your authority would be not super respected?

Crazy, are you kidding me? He let most of them live! Male slaves, now that's crazy.

This is what happens when you let pansy liberals like Andrew lead an army. I swear, kids these days don't even know what an extermination is...

Seems rather light skinned. Isn't Andrew black as well with the Aksumites?

Oh, dumb question Joohan - but clarification: the Dusk Union was working on arquebuses, yeah? I know you walked back from full blown weapons, but did you ever decide how far they got?

In ancient Greece, in the temple of Asclepius, if you had a problem, they would hang a clay copy of the body part in question to help cure your ill. Asclepius did not exist yet, so I made a generic Temple of the Body Parts. Victor Spear's head is in the temple at Oak. There is a second part to this. In the medicine of ancient Mesopotamia, there are two doctors, the Azu who prescribes medicine and does surgery and the Ashipu who provides spiritual health and drives away demons performing prayers and religious rituals. We got part of our medicine from Mesopotamia. When Den came he was originally trained in the House of Life in Egypt. They initially quarantined many people from the Pigeon Plague in the Temple of the Body Parts. This was put in as a story in the Book of Den which is a popular quasi philosophical and quasi-religious book full of stories, animal wisdom, and other things. The Temple of the Body Parts is where you go for incurable diseases, hospice, to solve the problems of inner demons or spiritual malaise, and now because of Den, plague.

If it just were mere arquebuses, we would have gotten them full on - though in limited numbers ( reserved for the Black Company ). Primitive cannons - and though I never got the post up, I had figured out how to build primitive naval mines from a couple of books I had read ( that was going to be the piece de resistance for an Invasion of your colonies I had planned ).

I would prefer though that we all try and keep blackpowder weapons as rare as possible for as long as possible.

Hmm, but these are books you read after landing, no?

Contact naval mines I can’t really see anyone turning out soon, due to the complex triggering mechanisms involved. You might be able to make a few hilariously erratic floating petards, though.

It was an idea I had, I read the books to see if I could actually do it. Without going into a lot of detail, the triggering mechanism wouldn't actually be that difficult to make - but it was erratic. My base for the naval mines was off of David Bushnell's contact torpedo's, used in the Revolutionary war.

I’m gonna get a little more specific on what happens to some of my slaves later, and I think it’ll be fine in the end.

Oh sure - but who is going to manufacture clockwork for those? You'd probably be better off working with the flint-triggered models from Britain, if you know of those. Unreliable, sure, but inexpensive to manufacture, also sure.

Anyway! I digress. My main question was about firearms. One of the King's Guard is going to demonstrate an Icedonian model in my next post, so I was curious what you actually decided was logical to develop over the last timeskip.

Very primitive early weapons or simple weapons, barrel bombs, fire lances, bronze hand cannons, and explosive caltrops (basically a spiked clay ball with gunpowder and shrapnel). I am not going to get the formula. The Followers of the Great Bull will burn the formula calling it hell powder. I think I will get the form of the cannon and work on making a steam cannon later a la archimedes.
