“It is difficult for me to imagine what “personal liberty” is enjoyed by an unemployed hungry person. True freedom can only be where there is no exploitation and oppression of one person by another; where there is not unemployment, and where a person is not living in fear of losing his job, his home and his bread. Only in such a society personal and any other freedom can exist for real and not on paper.” -J. V. STALIN

You do understand that all of this “civilization” garbage is a way to get to building trains, right? There is literally no other reason to do agriculture than to eventually create the conditions for rail transport.

Wow no wonder why you have active rebellions and the rest of the region actually hates you.

There haven't been many organized groups capable of fighting China if they wanted. The first thing they'd have seen of China is obviously an army that they couldn't beat, but the next thing they would see were iron tools brought in to give them an economic reason to join China.

So army first, then shinnies? Ok, methinks the iron tools weren't that effective but the iron halberds on the other hand. Yeah, I can see the iron tools working out.

What do you think about a "Great Western Republic" on the Caspian coast in twenty or so years?

Laughs as Chinese army is beaten back by superior weapons, training, and information leaking of their military movements.

which is why all the native american tribes immediately kowtowed when European colonizers showed up on their lands, of course

My next post involves a very large reorganization of the Chinese central government army, and iron quality in general is always increasing. I doubt you'll have superior equipment or training. The best way to beat a Chinese army is to Teutoburg forest them, not fight them in open battle.

When I get to modern day Xinjiang I will make sure to write aboutindianslocal tribes doing funny stuff. I don't think the idea of mongolian train robbers has been explored in this RP but it should be.

For Luther, he's more than a match for a Chinese soldier currently. Equipment no, but they can change. Plus, if you haven't realize, Luther won't be fighting like any normal enemy would. Which will be fun for both of us as he grows in power. Especially in Luoyang and other major cities.

By the middle of the 18th century, European empires were fielding armies in the thousands all over the continent, what are you talking about?

Maybe you can turn Korea into my version of Vietnam if I ever get to it.

I don't want to invade Hanajima, Japan is a 90% mountain series of islands with no important natural resources I couldn't get somewhere else easier. Myanmar and Korea as well as parts of southern China will absolutely be bad places for a Chinese army that likes to fight on the plains but I have a few ideas for how to mitigate that.
