It’s basically some Scholars from the League who got sent years back trying to help set up an educational spine for Aksum. Focusing on trade skills and religion. In the grand scheme of things, it’s nascent as things stand. However everything has a start, and I’m hoping to use it in part for assimilatory reasons in the direct vicinity of Aksum itself.

Hmm, another event. Pioneer sounds like fun, and I do like variety. If Pioneer is an AI uprising I will be pleasantly surprised.

Though feel free to give other people events - I'm really still busy resolving the Red Plague, haven't gotten back to regular posting yet, so I wouldn't want to waste your events by rushing the conclusion of any given plot point.

He seamlessly moved interstate to study at university after graduating from high school, often road-tripping home for family and holiday occasions. The habit of driving to-and-fro- continued after graduating from university and settling down in the nation's capital as an entry-level bureaucrat. It was on one such trip after pulling over to the side of the road for a nap that Andre found his life irrevocably changed.

What people or places are you taking inspiration from?: The Phoenician and Greek colonies.
Why did you chose to land where you did?: Smack-bang in the centre of the middle-sea, hopefully Syracuse has some exposure to pre-existing trade lanes while not being claimed by any particular power. I do also suspect that the 'Red Plague' will be active/scything through the population around when Andre lands.

Wouldn't suggest it but yeah, Europe does have some relatively untouched places! Iberia has a small primitive bronze civilization without an author leading things. Southern France, save Gascony, is practically untouched by all but Dusk Union explorers and still totally primitive. Italy has a small primitive iron civilization without an author ( nothing near Sicily though ). Everywhere else though, well...

Central Europe: totally controlled by the Imperium, with some very strange cultural and technological juxtapositions between cavemen societies, dark ages and extremely fleeting industrial age tech, and a vaguely monarchical/federal government.

Scandinavia: Viking warlords have risen in the wake of the Commonwealth's collapse, rogue settlements and republics battling it out with their advanced steel technology for what resources have been left in the wake of their glorious empire's fall

The Balkans: A cross roads between the story tellers guild, the Nestos League of Scholars, and the Imperium - well developed in most respects, but currently taking the brunt of a plague which is ravaging it's way through Europe - having already killed thousands and depopulating villages and cities alike

British Isles: Along with central europe, probably the most stable regions and developed region in Europe at the moment. The whole of Ireland has been taken for the kingdom of Hibernia, a liberal and egalitarian monarchy which shares continental colonies with it's ally and neighbor Icedonia ( think Imperial Japan if it was English ) who controls the whole of what we would today call England, Wales, and Scotland.

Russia: Honestly, I kind of forget, but there was some guy who was there a while ago - just kind of left.

Your app is accepted, though the red death hasn't yet reached Sicily. It's still a primitive island, and so no real trade has come to the island. So long as that remains the case, the plague will stay clear from the island.

Oh though I should also note that I recall the Nestos League having landed men on Sicily some time back, at Syracuse herself. So while it might not be much influence, that trade land does exist.
