This is not like 2016. I thought Trump had a chance a month or so back, but he has blown his chances by listening to his corporate consultants. His political instincts in 2016 were spot on, but using "Socialist Sux lolol" on Biden has severely back-fired.

Main reason would be his poor handling of Covid, yes. Governments have been successfully re-elected because of Covid-19 handling and used that fact to win elections, but there is no way that Trump can spin this.

Can we all please remember that a politician's twitter account scarcely wins votes, and oftentimes serves more to up one's own cred in the echo chamber that is Twitter. Even then, unless you're a celebrity, or have political celebrity status, literally nobody gives a shit.

So Long v Gaspard is being seen by a collective thousand or so people, maybe some local journalist or some CNN affiliate is seeing it but it isn't affecting either one's cred, Goldman jumping in would be another head-scratcher because Gaspard is a local Senate candidate who hasn't won his primary or a single relevant endorsement - I have half a mind to put up a credible Republican to oppose him in the Primary.

My point is that by virtue of the player base being politically savvy (subjectively) nerds, anyone of us who have twitter IRL (i don't) place much more stock in it than reality does.
