He's not vulnerable enough to qualify for a whip exemption. If he defies the whip on that vote, he'll lose standing.

He's a moderate on economic issues and believes bumping it up to $15, especially if immediately and without a transitional period, would damage small businesses.

He isn't planning on staying in the house anyway. He's miffed at Carrie and Crawford for backstabbing him over an opportunity at taking a shot at the house leadership.

I don't think it'd be easy to poach as somewhere like the 16th, but I think a progressive challenger could make in-roads because Atang's relationship with his colleagues is poor and that'll cost him 'backup'.

Character State of Origin: New York
Character State of Residence: Tennessee
Character Party Affiliation: Democratic
Main Strengths: Politically savvy, young, long career in politics, good at building relationships.
Main Weaknesses: Alleged carpetbagger, accused elitism, in public conflict with progressives.
Biography: Jensen was born and raised in the town of Clinton, New York, near Utica. Her father was a senior Wells Fargo official, and her mother was an elementary school teacher. Her father was also a local Republican state senate member and her parents involved her in local campaigns as a child. Both of her parents are now active supporters of the Democrats. She attended Clinton Senior High, where she was Class President. After leaving school, she was accepted to study History at Yale University, where she captained the women's ice hockey team, and graduated from Yale with a master's degree in 1998. Jensen joined the Democratic Party in 1997 and, after leaving university, moved to Nashville and worked for the Tennessee Department for Human Services. In 2001, she became (not Bob Clement)'s chief of staff. In 2003, when (not Clement) lost his house seat, Jensen resigned and was re-employed by the TDHS, who she wrote a series of research papers for. She was unsuccessful in an attempt to be selected as the Democratic nominee for the position of US representative for Tennessee's 5th Congressional District at the 2006 midterm election. In 2007, she became an advisor for (not Karl Dean), who was Nashville's mayor at the time. She held this position until 2014.

In 2016 Jensen was elected as a Representative for Tennessee's 5th Congressional District with a majority of 68,678 despite overall poor electoral performance for democrats in the 2016 elections, with a Republican trifecta elected. She made her first speech in a debate on the Wolf Travel Bans on 26 January 2017. She was briefly a member of the United States House Committee on Education and Labor between March 2017 and January 2018. She was publicly critical of the Wolf administration during this time. In January 2018 she was moved from the Education and Labor Committee to the United States House Education Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions, where she was a notably contributive member.

On 10 January 2018, Jensen announced that she was standing as a candidate for the Democratic Party nomination for the 2018 Tennessee Senate elections. Jensen was criticised by many in the media as a "carpetbagger", though Jensen stated she would "fight for Tennessee" were she to be elected as Senator. Jensen was eliminated in the democratic primaries in favour of (not Phil Bredesen).

Views:
Israel - Very much pro Israel, but favours a two state solution. She opposes hamas and the PLO. She supports continued US aid to Israel.
Foreign Wars - Supports anti ISIS intervention, but described the Wolf admin. actions in Syria and Iran as "rash and dangerous."
Foreign Aid - Supports the US maintaining its current FA policies.
Same sex Marriage - Supports, but supports allowing religious exemptions.
Refugees - Supports legal immigration. Opposes the deportation of undocumented immigrants who are not unemployed.
Abortion - Strongly pro choice. Wishes to decriminalise the practise entirely.
Guns - Supports a permanent assault weapons ban and universal background checks.
Whistle-blowers - Supports the imprisonment of whistle-blowers who "dish out key information crucial to national security."
ERA - Supports ratifying the ERA. Has lobbied the Tennessee State Government to re-ratify it.
Healthcare - Supports the ACA, opposes Medicare for all.
Tuition - Supports capping college fees at $15,000 annually. Opposes cancelling student debt and free tuition.
UBI - Opposes.
Energy - Supports phasing out fossil fuel subsidies and redirecting support towards renewables and nuclear energy.
Taxation - Supports introducing a 40% tax band for those earning over $400,000 annually.
Minimum Wage - Supports increasing to $10 an hour by 2022, progressively adjusting with inflation.
Electoral College - Supports abolishing and replacing with a popular vote based system.
Death Penalty - Supports for aggravated murder cases involving children, terrorist attacks, and mass shootings. Supports the abolition of electrocution as an execution method and has been critical of its application in Tennessee.
