“Whatever.” Artemis replied, rolling his eyes before stalking off to his next class.

"Okay, I have to go to Transfiguration with SLytherin." Archie gave a shudder after he said this.

As Archie walked into the Transfiguration, he could tell it wouldn't be his favorite class. To his right, Francis was entertaining his fellow Slytherins.
Directly ahead of him, an elderly woman with a very stern look on her face was staring down on her students.
"I am Professor Barton. I will be teaching the very hard branch of magic known as Transfiguration. Now, who knows what Transfiguration is, exactly?"

As Archie walked into the Transfiguration, he could tell it wouldn't be his favorite class. To his right, Francis was entertaining his fellow Slytherins.
Directly ahead of him, an elderly woman with a very stern look on her face was staring down on her students.
"I am Professor Barton. I will be teaching the very hard branch of magic known as Transfiguration. Now, who knows what Transfiguration is, exactly?"

Riley raised his hand tentatively.

"Er, the branch of magic that involves changing the appearance and/or function of an object?"

"Ver well, Mr. Callahan. Now, this is one of the hardest branches of magic that you will learn. I expect that only a handful will be able to go for NEWTs after your fifth year at Hogwarts. Today's lesson, we will be starting with the easiest type Transfiguration, non-living objects."
Their objective was to change a match into a needle. At the end of class, Riley was the only one who was able succeed in this, which made Professor Barton give him an unusual smile.

The day went by rather quickly. The students all had dinner and returned to their rooms, the library, or perhaps the occasional student rushing to a classroom to clarify something with the teacher. Up in the Ravenclaw tower, Artemis was studying a book titled "Wandless Magic: A guide to beginners." "Hey Artemis." A voice called out from behind. Artemis slammed the book shut and turned around, hiding the book behind him. It was Draven. "Draven." He replied with a subtle greeting. They struck up a conversation about Draven needing help with the Transfiguration homework. Eventually, midnight rolled around and all of the first years went up to the astronomy tower, which was tightly cramped by the time all the first years made it. The lesson went by within half an hour, mainly about the teacher, Professor Mayle. After that, a few weeks passed in no time. By the end of the fourth week, rumors had completely covered the school about Draven and Artemis, after some first year Hufflepuff claimed to have seen them kissed in the bathroom at one point. Even the teachers started getting in on the rumors and weekly gossip. Unfortunately, even Grangmas used this opportunity to torture the two in potions.

"Pardon me, mister Illan, but I have no time for romances", Grangmas sneered once again while Artemis was raising his hand to answer the question. It had been going like this all morning, and Wilhelm was starting to get sick of it. He did not feel relieved that for once he wasn`t Grangmas` main target. He simply felt disgusted by how cruel such a man could be. "Though, while we are at it, I would like to ask your partner here whether he knows the answer", he continued. Draven, unfortunately, had been obviously distracted in that moment, and looked surprised when his name was mentioned. "Well?", Grangmas taunted. "Does Juliette not know the answer? Or is he also Romeo?" he said, as he turned back to Artemis, who`se face was turning more and more red by the minute. Wilhelm could feel his own face grow hotter too, but not for embarrassment. He was filling with rage. "Maybe you two could find the answer together," the taunting continued. "Maybe in the small little closet in the back of the roo-" "LEAVE THEM ALONE GODDAMNIT!", Wilhelm shouted. The whole room went silent. He was startled by what he said, and also immediately regretted his outburst, as Grangmas slowly turned toward him. He did not even seem angry. Instead, a sly, cruel smile formed beneath his moustache. This scared Wilhelm the most. "50 points from Ravenclaw and also detention should do. We will see then if the famous Wilhelm Kammer will be able to contain his pride and arrogance, and if he will still think after that that he can yell whatever he wants."

The class went by after that, with Grangmas continuing to torture Artemis and Draven, and of course, Will. The class ended, and the students left the room quietly, thinking about what had happened that class. As the halls started to fill up, Artemis hurried out of the classroom, intent on catching up with Will. As soon as he spotted him, he called out. “Will.”

Wilhelm turned to see it was Artemis who called out his name. "Yeah?"

[Romix]

“Look, Will. I get it, what you did back there. I appreciate it. But doing that will only give him more fuel for the fires that are his insults. Just try to steer clear of him. But still, thanks.” At that moment, a black and white hawk flew into the hall, dropped a letter into Artemis’ hand, and flew off.

Slowly, he opened the envelope while walking to his next class. He arrived to his next class a bit early, so he took a seat and read the letter.

Dear Artemis,
I would like to start by saying that it is my utmost apology to report that your mother is dead. She died at 7:32 PM yesterday. I would invite you home for the funeral, but that brings me to my next point. I have heard that you are in a relationship with another boy at Hogwarts. You know how we treat this sort of thing at home. Therefore, you will not be allowed to set foot on the Ilan property ever again.

Artemis stared at the letter at first in disbelief, and then pure hatred. His triquetra started glowing bright red, and the two other students in the room took notice and quickly moved away from him. His vision turned red, then black, as the world seemed to collapse in on him. Breathing became difficult, and the tables and chairs in the room started violently shaking. It was at this moment Will walked in the room, and Artemis crumpled to the floor, unconscious.

"Hey Will! Artemis! Wait up!" Archie was sprinting across the hall and shouting. "I heard about Grangmas. I was so close to tackling and beating him to a pulp. Anyways, I don't want to make you uncomfortable, Artemis, but as a friend, I would like to know if the rumors are true. You don't have to tell me, but it would be nice for me to know. I'm considering a House transfer, by the way."

As Archie entered the room, he saw two things. An unconscious Artemis on the floor and a shocked Will, as well as two other students.

"What the fu-"

"What happened?"

[Aragren]

"Quick!", Wilhelm yelled at Archie. "Get a teacher, or someone!"

[Romix]

The triquetra on Artemis’ neck pulsed red light violently.

[United Hemand Insia]

"We'll just carry him to Madam Pomfrey. Come on."
It took them ten minutes to carry Artemis to the Infirmary. Artemis was very heavy, even for the both of them to carry. As soon as they opened the doors to the Infirmary, Madam Pomfrey dashed over, picked Artemis up out of there hands like he was a twig, and cautiously laid him down in a hospital bed. Madam Pomfrey demanded to know what happened. After they finished the story, Archie asked "Will Artemis be okay?"

"Yes, I believe he will."

Madame Pomfrey shooed Archie and Will out, and started finding something to help Artemis. When she came over, she finally noticed the pulsing triquetra. “Oh my god...” she gasped, going pale. She looked at one of the portraits in the room. “Go get Kimpower!” She frantically half yelled at it. Within a matter seconds, it was gone and back. “He’s on his way.” It said.

Kinpower strolled into the infirmary rather calm. “Professor Kimpower!” Cried Madame Pomfrey. “Madame Pomfrey. Good morning. What appears to be the matter?” “Professor, this boy has an ill sign. He was brought here after being rendered unconscious due to this.” She pointed at the triquetra. “He is an Ilan. They were part of You-Know-Who’s inner circle! According to what the two boys who brought him here said, he received a letter earlier this morning. He sat down to read it in Transfiguration, when the symbol began pulsing red light and things started shaking, and he fell to the floor moments later. They also say his eyes glowed red a bit and that he’s used the mark to talk to them telepathically.” “So it’s a mark that’s allows wandless magic and influences him. Interesting. I will study the subject, but for now, just let him be. Fix him up and send him back to class. If any of these outbreaks happen again please notify me immediately.” “Yes, Professor.” Kimpower left Madame Pomfrey to her work, and went to his office. Once there, he opened an ancient looking tome he hadn’t opened for a long time, and started studying. Back in transfiguration, Barton was lecturing the class of Racenclaws and Gryffindors on how to turn a cauldron into a cat, when Artemis walked in holding his head, accompanied by Madame Pomfrey. “...and remember dear, try to burn the letter as soon as possible. She walked up to Barton as Artemis took his seat, his fist angrily clenching the balled parchment that was the letter. Barton and Pomfrey exchanged a whisper conversation, as teachers do, as the class erupted into whispers. Draven exchanged a worried look with Will before looking at Artemis, whom he was sitting next to. Barton quickly looked over at Artemis before Madame Pomfrey left, and class struck up again. For the rest of the day, Draven was seen carrying Artemis’ things (he had been instructed too by Barton) which struck up more rumors.
