The Constitutional Convention Roleplay
The Premise
Article V is a political roleplay set in the United States, in November of 2023. Donald J. Trump has defeated former Vice President, and Democratic Nominee, Joseph R. Biden, and, therefore, has been re-elected for a second term as President of the United States.
As our Roleplay takes shape, we're well into the last year of the Trump Presidency, indeed, we find ourselves in an election season, and things have not coalesced in the years since 2020.
As such, the many states, utilizing their authority to call for a constitutional convention, under Sec. V of the U.S Constitution, have brought the founding framework of the nation back to the drawing board; the first constitutional convention to ever be successfully called for since ratification in 1789.
The goal? To create a new Constitution that can adequately govern the United States for another 280 years.
Who Are You?
You, are a Delegate to this Convention. Sent by your respective state, your job is to advocate for your nation's, and your state's, future, now that nearly everything is on the table.
Rules
The RP will function utilizing some basic rules and principles.
They are as follows:
• Every aspect of the Constitution is up for re-consideration. Anything can be added, taken out, debated, or otherwise considered, except direct tax apportionment according to population, and the representation of any state in the U.S Senate, unless they consent to the change. These exceptions are specifically enumerated by Article V of the U.S Constitution.
• The Convention will have a President, Secretary, and Sargent-At-Arms (who will serve as the RP's moderator).
• The Convention leadership shall be nominated from amongst, and be elected by, the Members of the Convention, when there are at least six Members.
• Decorum shall be maintained at all costs, Delegates may spar, but deliberately troll-like behavior will result in ejection by the Sargent-At-Arms or the OP.
Who Are You?
Applications may be found below, and shall be kept open on a rolling basis. There shall be only one Delegate per state, and Delegacies shall be awarded on a first come, first serve basis.
