Military Size: 2,500,000 (845,000 actives and 1,655,000 reserves)
Conscription: All citizens must serve for at least two years or more
Major differences between this timeline's nation and the in real life nation: Yuan Shikai never came to power, Sun Yat-sen never resigned, China annexed Bhutan and China became a republic before 1911
History: Throughout the 19th century, China suffered from humiliation by foreign powers. In 1819, China was invaded by Japan, who gained success thanks to both European weapons and the inferiority of the Chinese Army. As a result, Japan gained control over the coastal provinces of Shandong and Jiangsu. In the 1840s, China lost Hong Kong to the UK. Sometime in the 1860s, China lost all of Manchuria to Russia. At the same time, China was also suffering from internal issues, mainly social, economic and political ones.

In the 1880s, the Qing Dynasty decided to launch an invasion of Bhutan as a way to bring prosperity to China, since that country housed a good amount of red rice and numerous minerals. Once the invasion was launched, the Chinese Army was able to defeat and then annex Bhutan, due to the latter suffering from the lack of a central government (which equals the lack of national unity in that country). After the invasion, China began exploiting minerals and rice from Bhutan, which brought prosperity to China, albeit for a short period. In 1894, China made the mistake of trying to retake lost territories from Japan, which led to Hebei, Tianjin and Beijing being officially annexed by the latter, forcing the Chinese monarchy to abandon Beijing for Xi'an. However, the monarchy would be struck by bad luck again a year later, just as China's decade-long prosperity ended and internal issues resurfaced.

In 1895, a nationalist revolt took place in Guangzhou, which saw a rebel government being installed there by a movement called the Xingzhonghui. Once this new revolutionary government annexed surrounding provinces, the days of the Qing Dynasty were counted. As the revolutionary forces were near Xi'an, the Guangxu Emperor had to abdicate and then flee the city alongside Empress Dowager Cixi. After this, the Qing Dynasty was dissolved and replaced by the newly-formed "Republic of China". This new government, led by American-born President Jack Wong (Huang Nuòyán), began modernizing China and then organizing its first general elections. It even helped solve China's internal issues, especially economic ones, by applying Western-based economics to the Chinese economy and creating a constitution that upholds democratic values. Jack ruled China alongside his political party, the Republican Party (Gonghedang), from 1895 to 1905. In 1905, Jack was succeeded by Tang Hualong, the head of the Democratic Party (Minzhudang), who brought in more political changes, albeit they were very socially conservative and economically interventionist. The new government basically tried to bring back the old values of the Qing Dynasty, albeit without monarchism, feudalism and Manchu supremacy. It began managing the social hierarchy of China and even utilizing state-owned enterprises to own certain areas, which include mines and seaports. This wasn't popular in China, but the government began cracking down on dissent in order to keep order in the country.

In 1910, Sun Yat-sen and his political party, the Nationalist Party (Kuomintang), were elected and implemented new policies with the help of the "Three Principles of the People".
Did You Read The Rules? YES
Ethnic Separatism: Many ethnic minorities such as Tibetans, Mongols, Uyghurs and Bhutanese are hellbent on breaking their countries free from China.

Political Instability: There is constant bickering between politicians, which leads to instability within Chinese politics. China is also rife with corruption, which the current government seeks to eradicate right now.

Lost Territories: China seeks to regain Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu, Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Jilin, Macau and Hong Kong, as well as annex Taiwan, Senkaku Islands and Arunachal Pradesh.

Ill try to have a partial post replying to the major factions who have mentioned me. Ill edit in more details about the ongoing of the empire. The Russian Empire should probably respond about the Austrian Empires embassy, an embassy and its staff is usually seized when flares up happen. Or at least guarded. Also the Austrians new ambassador is arriving in St. Petersburg and it is customary for a new ambassador to present his creditinals to a monarch and the orders he bares from the other nations monarch about his purpose to be there. With tensions rising between Russia and Austria, it may be a good time for the Tsar to summon the new ambassoder or at least meet with him to discuss a possible solution

Application for a Nation

Official Name of the Nation: Kingdom of Greece
Shortened Name: Greece
Head of State: King Constantine I
Head of Goverment: Prime Minister Venizelos
Government Type: Constitutional monarchy
Territorial Claim: https://imgur.com/a/fcFRHNm
Alliances the Nation is in: Balkan pact with Serbia and Montenegro, Currently guaranteeing the independence of Albania
Population: 5.5 million
National Language(s): Greek, Albanian
Lingua Franca(s): English, Greek, French
GDP: 30 billion in todays dollar value
GDP Per Capita: 6000 in todays dollar value
Currency: Drachma
Railroad Gauge: 1,435 mm (4 ft 8 1⁄2 in) standard gauge
Military Size: 250,000
Conscription (if so, mention for how long): yes, 12 months
Major differences between this timeline's nation and the in real life nation (explain said differences in the history section):
Different royal family
Butterflies flapped their wings in and around the independence war leading to a slightly better off Greece from the get go that wasn't strangled in its crib by debt.
Subsequent war with the the Ottomans saw northern Epirus added to the nations territory, and in Second Balkan war parts of Rumelia and Thrace
History: Mostly as OTL with small changes that add up:
In the independence war deft diplomacy by the acting prime minister prevented any civil wars from occurring with the end result being that a stronger Greece being able to liberate Crete.
During the war various European Philanthropists had gotten involved on behalf of the Greek rebels, at the wars conclusion some of these men including the legendary Lord Byron aided the fledging government by pointing out discrepancies in the amount of money they were supposed to have gotten in loans vs what they actually got. This greatly reduced the debt that the new government had to pay back to the primarily British banks.
Leopold of Saxe-Coburg became king of the newly declared kingdom instead of Otto von Wittelsbach
Ioannis Kapodistrias was never assassinated
Having a stronger economy and more stable country earlier put the country years ahead of OTL in terms of development in the economy, industry, infrastructure, and the armed forces.
Bribed to stay out of the Crimean war with Thessaly, Epirus, and the Dodecanese islands
Balkan wars went pretty much as OTL except with a better performance from Greece
Issues Plaguing the Nation (3-5 Minimum):
1. Political divisions between pro and anti war parties and republicans vs monarchists
2. A similar though not as severe problem that early 20th century Japan faced; the Navy and the Army are rivals and constantly fight over funding, policy, and influence in parliament
3. The Albanians are...complicated. A protectorate in all but name relations with Albania are strained due to some in Albania resenting Athens' overreach while others don't mind it due to how good things have been for the average Albanian due to investment from Greek companies and great trade over the shared border. This situation with occasional attacks on Greek soldiers stationed near the border drains Athens resources and forces the government to dedicate far too much attention and resources to the Northwest instead of Eastwards.
4.
Did You Read The Rules?
Sure did
