Last time I checked, there were no automatic weapons in Oregon Trail. As for heading west, not every character is doing it to start a new life.

So I’m basically going to involve this guy later down the road (literally in a sense), and I will also get a vehicle app up for him.

NAME: Stephen Klein
SEX: Male
AGE: 24
IMAGE/DESCRIPTION: Stephen is tall and lanky, standing at 6’5” with a light build, but he is not lacking in physical strength. His light brown hair is kept at medium length and is wavy and kept in a curtained style. He has blue eyes and fair skin.
SKILLS/WEAKNESSES: From an early age, Stephen Klein worked with his dad in his home-based machine shop, learning how to use a variety of tools such as a lathe, milling machine, drill press, welder, 3D printer, and many others. He became extraordinarily skilled at machine work and craftsmanship. In schools, he was good at mathematics, but he wasn’t an asshole about it. Before the apocalypse, he had dreams of becoming a mechanical engineer. He is very competent with firearms, but no Olympic marksman or high-speed operator. On the flip side, Stephen is rather egotistical, preferring to maintain a sense of power rather than his own health, which could prove fatal if/when he encounters Tex. He also isn’t great at talking to people, but not in an unpleasant or violent way such as Tex, but he just says the wrong things, often taking a lighthearted and joking approach to communication. While this does make him easy to talk to for those on his side, it can seriously screw things up when talking to those he is not affiliated with. He generally also keeps a sense of humor during combat situations. On his darker side, he shows little regard for the taking of human life, often taunting victims when he can and showing a sicker side of his humorous demeanor. As well as this, the fact that he records firefights for entertainment is off-putting to many.
REASON/ROLE IN CONVOY: Security detail and a desire to explore the world.
GEAR/BELONGINGS: Luty-Pattern Machine Carbine: Made using the instructions provided in “Expedient Homemade Firearms: The 9mm Submachine Gun” written by P.A. Luty way back in the 1990s. The original was constructed entirely from steel pipes, silver soldering material, machine screws, and other hardware store items, and made using only hand tools. Stephen’s personally built example has a few key differences from the original design, including both a 3D printed upper and lower receiver made from black polycarbonate, 12 inch polygonal rifled barrel, a fixed laminated maple wood stock, and a heavier bolt and stouter spring to reduce the rate of fire. For sights, he has mounted a cheap red dot sight he found while scavenging. His machine carbine has a rate of fire of around 650 rounds per minute and is far more accurate than the original smooth-bore design. As far as ergonomic features go, maple laminate grips are screwed into the pistol grip for extra purchase on the weapon, and an insulating 3D printed polycarbonate hand guard is mounted on the barrel and covers the first 5 inches that extrude from the upper receiver. The firearm’s magazines are also homemade, holding 25 rounds each of 9mm Parabellum in a single-stack fashion. The gun fires from an open bolt and has no safety selector, capable of full auto fire only. Stephen carries 25 mags on his person, 24 in belt-mounted Uzi mag pouches and one in the weapon. The weapon cycles best with full metal jacket and jacketed hollow point ammo.
Remington 700 Bolt-Action Rifle: Chambered for the abundant and capable .270 Winchester cartridge, this weapon is the most versatile in Stephen’s arsenal. His example feeds from a fixed 4-round internal box magazine and has a slot milled in by Stephen that allows the rifle to accept 1903 Springfield stripper clips for faster reloading. The clips he has have all been cut down to accept 4 rounds instead of the original 5 rounds, all of which are carried in a bandolier made using canvas and surplus Mosin Nagant clip pouches. A camouflage paint job done with Krylon spray paint covers the original black polymer stock. Stephen has mounted a reproduction Soviet PU sniper optic by drilling and tapping the side rail into the stock. The scope has a 3.5x fixed magnification and is adjustable for elevation and windage.
Sawed-Off Stoeger Uplander Double-Barrel: Stephen typically uses this 12-gauge shotgun for up-close personal defense and a backup weapon in case his Luty is rendered non-functional. Obviously not very accurate, but you don’t need to be accurate with buckshot coming from a 13 inch barrel at 7 yards. For added purchase on the weapon, Stephen wrapped the grip in rubberized tape so it doesn’t kick him in the face due to it’s lack of a stock. A boringly reliable sidearm that has devastating effect on flesh. Spare ammo is carried on bandoliers made with duct tape and spare backpack straps.
Backpack and Contents: Stephen carries most everything else in a low-profile tactical backpack. Mostly it consists of spare clothing and clothing for different adverse weather conditions, including a rain poncho, light clothing for hot weather, and a spare heavy-duty jacket for extreme cold. Other items include spare boxed ammo, consisting of 250 rounds of 9mm, 130 rounds of .270, and 75 rounds of 12 gauge 00 buckshot contained in 2 and 3/4 inch shells. He is one of the few survivors who has the luxury of portable electronic equipment, which consists of a solar-powered charging bank, charging cables with micro USB plugs, an MP4 player, and a webcam he mounts on top of his helmet. The camera is used to record firefights and other interesting moments, which Stephen typically watches for entertainment purposes. In the backpack, Stephen also has a few books and a journal along with several No. 2 pencils and a fountain pen.
Gear and Apparel: Stephen typically dons a Level III steel helmet with a mount for his camera, which is capable of stopping threats up to .30-06 in power, but not without significant blunt trauma. For body armor, he wears the durable and proven “Level IIIA+” flexible body armor made by SafeLife defense. It can stop the same threats as his helmet and still remain useful even after being hit many times over with a variety of rounds. Stephen’s unit has only a few strikes, and is covered with an OD green Velcro cover for mounting things like chest rigs. When it comes to conventional clothing, Stephen typically wears a VZ. 85 parka used by the Czechoslovakian military during the Cold War, along with tan-colored BDU style pants. Stephen wears black fingerless combat gloves to protect his hands from burns caused by a hot barrel or chamber, and black steel-toe combat boots good for use in all terrain as well as last-resort self defense. He also has a pair of Oakley standard-issue sunglasses, which are durable enough to resist shotgun blasts.
BIOGRAPHY: Stephen Klein’s story isn’t as tragic as Cody’s or Tex’s. His family, which consisted of him, his parents, and a family dog, were not killed in his witness, and to this day he has no idea what became of them, as they were taking the family dog for vaccinations at a veterinary office, and he was home alone that day. Nothing interesting happened in his quiet town near the coast of Georgia. He had heard of recent world events through radio and TV broadcasts, and he began to stock up on supplies, fully anticipating that he would likely not be seeing his family again, as they had to travel to a big city to reach a vet’s office. Upon having gathered enough supplies to survive, he promptly left his home in the 1999 BMW E36 that his parents had intended for him to drive when he got his license. He made sure he set up camp in a location out in the wilderness so as to make it hard for marauding bands of raiders to find him. He stayed in a self-made shelter in the middle of the woods for around 6 months, living off the land and never seeing a single soul. He realized he couldn’t allow himself to be doomed to isolation forever, and he set off with what gas he had left. Soon, he found himself in the town of Brunswick, located on the Atlantic coast near Saint Simons Island. There, he found a mechanic that was willing to convert his car to a wood gas powered setup in exchange for transport to a safe haven. Stephen headed out west, hoping to find a city that was protected enough for the mechanic to be dropped off at. After 2 weeks of driving, he arrived at a walled settlement that had been built away from urban areas, and the mechanic had Stephen drop him off there. However, Stephen, with a newfound sense of power at the fact he had a vehicle, wanted to explore the country further. He left the settlement, going wherever he felt like he wanted to go using old paper roadmaps. With everything going on in his life, he hadn’t had much time to reflect on what became of everyone he knew, but the pain this brought him forced him to push such thoughts to the back of his mind. As he traveled, he became more adventurous and willing to take risks. He ended up in many skirmishes and sorties, often resulting from deliberate self-involvement in fighting between wasteland gangs and settlements, shooting at any side of the fight indiscriminately. Even though he didn’t rack up a high kill count like Tex and didn’t seek to destroy, he found this opportunistic aggression to give him a rush. He eventually found himself far from his home in Georgia. He had explored west, and he felt it was time to go north. Having heard information about a convoy that passes between St. Louis and Boise, he decided to track down the convoy and join in mid-route so they would serve as guidance and protection on the particularly dangerous route.

NAME: Amanda “the beast” volkva
SEX: Female
AGE: 37
IMAGE/DESCRIPTION:white slightly tanned skin with blond hair and slender jawline, very masculine , height is 6f 10in. A scar over her throat where a combat knife had messed up her vocal cords and nearly killed her. Image
SKILLS/WEAKNESSES:spetznaz and Russian military training. Unnaturally strong and good with vehicles. Introvert and speaks little English
REASON/ROLE IN CONVOY:N/A
GEAR/BELONGINGS:Vss ventorez rifle, Ruger mark IV silenced pistol, hunting knife, first aid kit, survival kit (cause I don’t want to go into detail on everything), 40 magazines of 9mm ammo. Leather notebook along with a picture of her and her sister.
BIOGRAPHY: when Russia fell the spetznaz had taken the manual to return order back to their great nation, through bloodshed and trust they had made Moscow and its neighbors a place of safety and order. Amanda had always looked up to the spetznaz along with her sister, they wanted to join and so they had pushed forward to make that dream a reality and to make their family and friends proud, together. They had reached the age to enlist and did so in a heartbeat, they were sent through rigorous and rough training. Not a day did they skip a beat, they had come out on top of their class. They soon found themselves out on the front lines defending their homelands. And then the it changed when Amanda’s sister was killed in an ambush that she soon found out was set up by one of the higher ups. This had sent her into a fury when she found out and hunted the man without remorse. She had nearly met her sisters fate when the man had cut her throat open just before she snapped his neck. She was in intensive care for weeks only to be sent to the executioner for treason. She had escaped during the time she was hospitalized but she knew she couldn’t stay in her homelands anymore, so she ran and had set to cross to America to free herself. When she reached America, it was chaos and she couldn’t trust anyone due to her being used too often. She had decided to live and hunt like a lone wolf, killing to survive and taking whatever to make a living.
