Government System (short description): The Amalian Government is a Presidential Republic, divided between the Legislative, the Judicial, and Executive Branch. The Legislative Branch is in charge of proposing bills and voting on them, and is made up of the Amalian Congress, which is further divided into two houses. The House of Representatives, and the Senate. It is here where bills are debated by representatives, and senators. For a bill to pass, it must go through both houses successfully with a majority agreeing on it.

If a bill passes, then it is brought before the Executive Branch, made up of the President and Vice-President, whom is picked by the President-Elect during an election. It is here the President passes a law into motion, although they do hold the power to veto it if they see fit.

If the President passes a law, it is then up to the Judicial Branch, made up of the Supreme Court, to go about enforcing and interpreting that law. The Supreme Court is the highest court in Amalia, and is able to pick and choose which cases it follows, and which it does not. Cases are required to involve Federal Law in one way or another, or be about laws the laws of more than one state in the Union. Currently, the Court is made up of one Chief Justice, and eight Associate Justices, both of whom are hand picked by the President, and confirmed by the Amalian Senate.

The President is elected every 6 years in the month of November, and may be elected for an unlimited amount of terms, though if defeated, they may not run again. However, there are a series of checks and balances that limit the Presidents power, to ensure a healthy and safe democracy, free from potential autocrats vying for control.

Brief History (use to justify Geopolitical Status): After fighting a bloody revolution to gain independence from Great Eilean, Amalia established itself as a newly independent country. For years after, immigrants would come to Amalia seeking a new life, leading to an ever increasing population. This, along with taking notes from it's father nation and rapidly industrializing, led to Amalia becoming a industrial powerhouse.

Amalia would soon expand westward, every increasing it's territory until it reached the Pacific Ocean, even buying the territory of Wilnamia from Eilean. However, internal issues would split the country, leading to a civil war and the CSA splitting from the country. Despite early success, eventually the mounting casualties and increasing cost of the war demoralized the population, along with further revolution in the West led to Amalia to sue for peace. This setback cost the country dearly, and it took years for it to recover. Despite this, Amalia continued to industrialize the regions it still held on to, and when the Great War broke out in Europe, Amalia eventually joined on the side of the Concorde-Cordiale. It was here Amalia proved itself to be a military power to be reckoned with, and the war helped further increase Amalia's industry.

While facing setbacks, Amalia continues to be an industrial and military powerhouse in the world, with immigration still going strong as ever.

Elections in Taiyin are based on a hierarchical electoral system. Local People's Congresses are directly elected, and all higher levels of People's Congresses up to the National People's Congress (NPC), the national legislature, are indirectly elected by the People's Congress of the level immediately below. Governors, mayors, and heads of counties, districts, townships and towns are in turn elected by the respective local People's Congresses. A candidate may be nominated by a legal party or organization, or could be any voter seconded by at least 3 others. The final list of candidates is worked out through democratic centralism. Voting is to be done by secret ballot, and voters are entitled to recall elections. Brief History (use to justify Geopolitical Status): Formerly a Dominion, and later Commonwealth, of the United Kingdoms of Great Eilean and Strathland, the now-independent Technocratic Federation of Tarazed has been, since its inception, a bulwark against mainland Asian factions expanding south-east into Oceania and eastwards into the Pacific. The city of Daramonty grew out of a large sheltered harbour for Royal Navy vessels into one of the largest trading ports in Oceania, and with the empire's firm hold on Southern Oceania, this port bred a formidable Royal Dominion with a rich maritime history.
During the imperial decline of the United Kingdoms of Great Eilean and Strathland, the original mission statement of preventing mainland Asian nations from expanding unchecked into the waters around Asia was seen as paramount, and a vast number of competent Eileanic statesmen found their way to the newly independent Tarazed to ensure no expansion was feasible. Brief History (use to justify Geopolitical Status): The Balkanic Confederation first formed in the mid 1700s, as a collective response of many of the at the time Balkan nations to the growing worries about the consolidating nations beyond their borders. With Germans in Slovenia and the Osphenians in greece, as well as the consolidating nations of Italy and the Intermarium it was decided that drastic action would need to be taken to preserve the independence of the Balkans from these outside powers. The only way to stop the ever encroaching outside powers was to stand united, despite their many internal conflicts, and become a major power on the European continent themselves.

This arrangement of a lose grouping of states managed to hold together for suprisingly long, but by the beginning of the 20th century, it was clear that something had to give. The government of the confederation was unable to keep up with the quickly changing world, and the peoples of the nation were quickly losing faith in their government's ability to protect them from the outside powers that caused its formation in the first place. What followed were a series of revolutions, and in the chaos, the Balkan Protectionist Communist People's Party seized power, declaring that they would be the ones to drag the Balkanic Confederation into this new age.

The single party communist state is the portion of the Confederation's history that sticks the greatest in the popular consciousness. From the 20s until the early 80s, they held an absolute grip on power and used it to its fullest extent. During these years, the Confederation went from a relatively rural corner of the European continent to an insular industrial complex shrouded in mystique. With heavy border restrictions to most other European nations, the Confederation concentrated of transforming itself into an industrialised powerhouse, to mostly successful results. While it would never match up to the industrial might of a country like Germany, by the mid 60s the Confederation had cemented itself a place among the large European powerhouses, finally matching up against its long-running rival to the south, Ausfon. The 60s were the height of the Confederations power and influence, standing tall both among the Europeans as the southern mountainous Communist stronghold shrouded in mystery, and among the other international communist nations, standing as not a mere satellite, but a successful communist nation in the midst of Europe. With trade from other communist nations and to a degree, the Sonacists in the north, it looked like nothing would ever change.

However, things did change. By the start of the 80s, things had changed drastically within the Confederation, though few would know that from the outside. Frivolous spending by the Communist party on highly unnecessary programs, such as a mostly unsuccessful space program, had begun to weaken their power base. In the summer of 1981, The Balkanic Confederation once again became a democratic state, the communist party allowing elections in fear of the threat of a new revolution. Nowadays, things have changed some. This is not the Balkanic confederation of old, a loose group of states held together only by fear. However, it is also not the Confederation of the 60s, a state that isolated itself from the rest of the continent. This is a brave new world, and the Balkans shall forge their path into it together, as they have before.

I disagree with the rulings of the mods due to excessive claims from other people. I don't see how it is fair for many people to take the entirely of the a continent but yet wants npc from the likes of a moderatly sized nation. If you do want to make NPCS please address it with other players like Russia, China and Austrailia or players who have an entire geographic region under their thumbs like Ismeil and Tarazed. Brief history(use to justify Geopolitical Status):The story starts in 1543,the portuguese arrived in japan and brought christianity and many other innovations to the japanese,after creating many colonies in Kyushu they finally publish the first japanese-portuguese dictionary,which helps some of the lords of nagasaki to learn portuguese and question some portuguese monks about the religion,they are fascinated by it and in 1563,the first bible written in japanese is published,the religion spreads quickly in kyushu with 70% of the inhabitants of the island being christian in 1576,after the unification of the islands.The unification helped the spread of christianity immensely,especially in southern honshū,christianity was never banished due to its popularity among the populace and the japanese never closed the country due to the massive income of technology and culture.In 1699 the country was 75% christian,a civil war broke out between the christians and the non-christians,many of whom were Ainus,the christians won and killed and tortured 10% of the non-christian and forced the others to become Christians,from here will start the incredibly violent spread of christianity in the far east.In 1726,the first latin-japanese dictionary was created and later on hundreds of thousands of copies were made,the people of japan saw that this was "the language of god" and so the government sent 500 men to learn latin,when they returned they taught latin to the nobles and clergymen and the language quickly spread,the populace crippled the words with its accent and expressions and Seinaru was born.In ww2 japan tried to spread christianity and expand the empire even,they first occupied korea,then the south of asia,only to be beaten and humiliated,it still kept South Korea because of the population being 70% japanese after a few decades of occupation where the koreans were deported and killed,the philippines and the indonesian islands stayed in the empire because of their crippling economies and the lack of a national identity after the japanese made every ethnicity feel like it deserved a state by bombarding the isles with propaganda.Nowadays Japan never lost its pride and its faith and its economy is booming.The emperor is just waiting for the right moment to strike.

Members of the council are considered specialists because of their high levels of education and years of experience in their fields of expertise. They are highly respected and hold almost absolute power together. They are elected every 5 years by the people in a national vote. That also means that the people have the power to vote a member of the council out of his position for misuse of power and influence if more than half of the council members agree (the accused cannot take part in the Council Vote). Because of the high number of candidates for every position, the elections are the biggest event and can last as long as a month (as it happened at the 1965 election which lasted 34 days).

Government System (short description):
Elections in Taiyin are based on a hierarchical electoral system. Local People's Congresses are directly elected, and all higher levels of People's Congresses up to the National People's Congress (NPC), the national legislature, are indirectly elected by the People's Congress of the level immediately below. Governors, mayors, and heads of counties, districts, townships and towns are in turn elected by the respective local People's Congresses. A candidate may be nominated by a legal party or organization, or could be any voter seconded by at least 3 others. The final list of candidates is worked out through democratic centralism. Voting is to be done by secret ballot, and voters are entitled to recall elections. Electoral districts at the basic level (townships, towns, etc) are composed of 200–300 voters but sometimes up to 1000, while larger levels (counties, etc) are composed of 3000 to 4000 voters. Voters begin with direct local elections, selecting deputies to Township and County level People's Congresses. These People's Congress Deputies then elect Municipal Deputies, who then elect Provincial Deputies, who elect NPC Candidates, from which NPC Deputies are chosen.

The NPC is the supreme organ of state power, made up of many sub-committees and bodies which it elects, including the NPC Standing Committee (NPCSC), the permanent body of the NPC. It also elects the President, the Premier of the State Council, the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, and the Procurator-General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate.

The NPCSC oversees the election of the NPC, and can extend the term of the current NPC by a put off election by at most a year with a two thirds majority vote. The NPCSC convenes the NPC once a year, and may do so when it finds it necessary or with a proposal from one fifth of NPC's members. The NPCSC holds power until the succeeding NPC elects its standing committee. It exercises the majority of the power of the NPC and meets in continuous session, when the full session of the NPC is not held. The NPCSC also has the power of judicial and legal interpretation. Function is shared with the Supreme People's Court, which actually provides a decision in cases.

Including the NPC, there are 5 major components of the government of the People's Republic of Taiyin.

The official name of the central government is the State Council, sometimes referred to as the Central People's Government. It is the chief administrative authority of the People's Republic of Taiyin. It functions like the cabinet of other nations, running all ministries including the People's Bank of Taiyin, the central bank.

The National Supervisory Commission is the highest anti-corruption agency of the People's Republic of Taiyin, at the same administrative ranking as Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate. Its operations are merged with the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Central People's Party.

The Judiciary branch contains two major bodies. The Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate. The Supreme People's Court is the highest level of court in the People's Republic of Taiyin. The Supreme People's Court is the superior appellate forum in Taiyin which supervises and governs the procedure of justice by all the special people courts and the local, subordinate courts, and the court of last resort. The Supreme People's Procuratorate or the "Prosecutor General's Office" is the highest national level agency responsible for both prosecution and investigation in the People's Republic of China.

The Taiyin Central People's Party (CPP) is the ruling party of the People's Republic of Taiyin under its people's democratic dictatorship. Its leadership is stated in the constitution. It differs from parties of other nations in that it does not represent the interest of a certain social group, and is not an partial interest party. It cooperates with a United Front of other parties to effectively govern and represent the people of Taiyin. (I'll elaborate more on the party later)

The Taiyinese People's Political Consultative Conference (TPPCC) facilitates involvement and cooperation of all groups under the leadership of the CPP. These groups include the legal parties and organizations, as well as independent members. It is intended to provide a greater reach and broader spectrum of opinions than that of general higher ranking officials. Its purpose is to define national goals and objectives alongside the CPP.
