Yeah, they'll be in drydock and mothballed for a while. I intend to take out the PDCs and railguns and set them up for a defense platform. I'll probably scuttle a few of the useless Leonidas-class and use their parts for something useful.

Honestly whatever fits the narrative / I'll probably be consulting the others. We can probably sort through some unit comparisons or whatnot too in case.

Territorial Ambitions : Really, there's nothing that they want except trying to understand the players in this new world and try to help unite the world's economy in a similar fashion that they did before.
Capital City : The capital city is known as Agartha, a city deep in the Upper Mantle of the Earth. Powered by thermo-energy from the Outer Core, this is one of the known cities that are beacons of humanity in the Fallen World. The city is as big as the biggest cities in the world all that lived without the need to go topside for fear of radiation or other things in the Fallen World.

Economic Policy : Dragnet is first and foremost a transportation and logistics company tasked with uniting the remnants of humanity while also making a profit. Their specialization come from delivering goods and constructing roads, infrastructure, and any means necessary to make sure they can reach as much of humanity as possible. It was them who made the multilayer Hollow Earth Network and expanded beyond that to include other means of resource gathering, R&D, and even military to ensure that they unite their planet and profit from it.

Because of this, they take it in a stride to focus on the conservation of markets they get into while also finding new ways to get into new markets, This brand of conservatism comes in the strides that they want to ensure that the resources of tomorrow are always there without over exploiting them. The second part of this comes from that they are a company, built to profit off the need for transportation and resources to be delivered at a moments notice.

If anything were to hinder them or stop them, then they would try find ways to get around it, including military action should it happen to be forced.

Tech Level: The general technology of Dragnet is centered around the year of 2080s-2100. Major advancements come in the use of infrastructure building, medicine and information technologies. They are one of the few places to have been able to produce cures for most of the causes of diseases and illness in the Fallen World and even have made advance cybernetics and biomods to common people. A sight of transhumanism is seen in those who work for Dragnet and are underneath the earth. Androids with advanced AI are given rights, healthcare, and payment like any other worker.

Such site is not entirely uncommon to those that work in their world but there have always been anti-AI groups. Weaponry and military isn't all that advanced compared to other factions in their world due to their specialization in logistics and transportation. Their currency is digital and backed by resources and credit exchange than any sort of physical currency as luxury metals and goods are not worth it unlike in the modern world.

Weaponry ranges from coil guns to energy weaponry. Tanks and mechs are commonplace but are autonomous and treated as drones than armored divisions. Androids and humans fight in power armor in variants but other than that they aren't the most advanced or even military-focused organization so they are lagging behind in military tech at the moment.

Army:The army numbers around 150,000. The common security soldier is outfitted with the TM-20 Guass Auto, which is an assault rifle railgun that itself hits fast with being able to put out 50 rounds per magazine. They are also outfitted with power armor of different varieties but mostly they are capable of allowing some augmented strength and speed. Cybernetic implants also helps in the survival of the soldier and the enhancements.

Between Android spec-ops, autonomous drones and tanks, they are inexperience when it comes to fighting any big major powers or those are professional military corporations. They are a glorified self-defense force that protects the tunnels and other assets.

Navy: They have none

Air Force: They have none


Organization Goals : Try to reconnect their tunnels, understand the displacement and try to figure out Dragnet's place in a world not awash by nuclear fire


History : Dragnet was formed one hundred years after the end of the world. Formed by what was left of the world's last trading caravans, transport convoys, and logistics companies for the sake of unite their fallen world. They started out small, working between local settlements but then starting to grow to the point where Dragnet grew within one of the biggest regional powers in their own wasteland. Underneath them, trade and competition flourish while Dragnet was able to be a megacorp as they strecth beyond just regional power into a continental one.

In the next two hundred years, they set to build roads, establish their own caravans and security forces to protect them. They even went as far as to start developing their own R&D in order to make better logistics in order make things safer. Eventually during this 200 years, they had been able to start digging underground and help make the first layers of what will be the Hollow Earth Network as they started to reconnect the entirety of the West by starting in their home, North America.

As another 100 years pass by, they managed to not just connect North and South America but started to connect to those in Europe. From one big node to another, they started to become more of an underground network and started to build their own cities in order to further build their Network around the world. Among the greatest of their cities was the city of Agartha, which was build deep into the upper mantle and feed off of the thermoenergy and the were able to support their own manufactured goods by the large-scale mining.

By seven hundred years they had became one of the greatest companies in human history, being larger than the East India Trading Company and a pillar of uniting humanity. They had millions of workers and soldiers as they formed a beating heart of civilization that many of the new nations relied upon or have kept their growing power in check as they were a relic of an ancient time.

However the CEO of the company was looking into the next venture, space. With space exploration and colonization in places such as Mars and the Moon then Dragnet could keep itself from being defeated by stagnation before the displacement happened. They had lost nearly everything, their Network was compromised and nearly 2/3rds of it was gone. Europe and Africa were not responding but only had faint signals in those areas, over 60% of their workforce was gone and only Agartha stood. Technology, production and everything they strove to build for the past seven centuries had been nearly destroyed.

Now, in this new world, they are crippled and nearly locked away in their underground city they search out to figure out what happened and see what the future unfolds for their people and the company of Dragnet.

Economic Description : Brazil has been shaped in the last decades to serve as a breadbasket for the Texarkanan Confederacy and its allies. As such, its economy was liberalised and geared to export foodstuffs while being reliant on external markets for more sophisticated goods. Agriculture is by far Brazil’s largest industry, and as such the country possesses a large agribusiness complex, producing chemicals, farm equipment, processed foodstuffs, as well as other goods and materials linked to farming and export infrastructure.

Military Description

Though undeniably the strongest regional power, the Brazilian Federation’s Armed Forces are battered and understrength. Large portions of its arsenal are Texarkanan surplus and lend-lease, and its sophisticated equipment troublesome to procure now that external suppliers have been cut. The Armed Forces’ main asset is undoubtedly the eight anti-orbital batteries installed bought from the Asian Prosperity Sphere shortly before the coup, capable of intercepting ICBMs and orbiting spaceships, though to which extent these may be used against surface targets is questionable.

Army: The Federal Army consists of 4 military commands, each with one combined arms division. Additionally, two jungle and one airmobile brigades are under direct federal orders. These are backed up by the Forças Públicas, official state militias which total around 500 000 men.

Navy: Mostly a glorified coastguard and troop transports supplemented by three legacy capital ships:

History : It is the year of our Lord 3105, and tanks roll through the centres of tropical metropoleis.

Brazil was one of the few states to survive the Second Sino-Western War, the Yellowstone Eruption, and the following seven centuries of hardship. During this dark age, the Federated Republic stood as the most powerful, largest and populous state on Earth. However, any imperial aspirations were culled by a devastating famine in the 2300s caused by nuclear and volcanic winters, the breakdown of electronic communications as well as the Sixth Republic’s inability to enforce authority over its huge territory. Instead, Brazil mutated beyond recognition into a monarchic state not unlike the medieval kingdoms of Europe, in which provinces ruled by local aristocracies swore fealty to a Federal Sovereign elected for life.

Meanwhile, political blocks such as the Texarkanan Confederacy and the Asian Prosperity Sphere fed on the carcasses of the Old Powers and grew rapidly to their image. With ambitions reaching towards the Stars, these hegemonies soon cast their eyes upon Brazil to feed their industrial revolutions and cultural renaissances. Near the turn of the millennium, efforts began to crack Brazil out of its isolation. Through an aggressive military economic campaign they dismantled local power structures province after province, and by the 3050s, Brasil had been reverted to a “true democracy” in the form of the Seventh Republic, a puppet state controlled by foreign advisors under the South American Concern. The SAC set about a campaign of aggressive economic growth through centralisation as well as rapid technological development. As a side effect standards of life and social order sharply declined. During the last two decades, the SAC’s rule grew heavy handed. The Federal Army was often wielded as a mercenary company, landing on alien shores to fight for foreign and company interests. These campaigns culminated in the phyric campaigns of Suez and Malaysia in 3086 and 3088, bloody conflicts which galvanized the national spirit, prompting many descendants of the old aristocracy and military officers to plot against their corporate masters. Following a minor nuclear exchange resulting from a breach of contract between shareholders, the plotters seized the opportunity and carried out a coup d’état on the seventh of September 3105. The border shut down and ports closed as the junta braced itself for an all-out corporate assault by air, land, sea and space. However, none ever came.

Official Economic Ideology : It is hard to discern RI's ideology, though it seems to be capitalist with how it interacts economically with other entities, but it also allows patients to exchange their service instead of money for treatment.
Official Political Ideology : Judging from how it accepts anyone who can help, but how it also has a secret dissident elimination group, it's most likely RI's political ideology is liberalism, but with a secret side of authoritarianism.

Territory : None, only the landship, which is speculated to be around this size.

Economic Policy : As a medical organization, Rhodes Island seeks its funding from payment by the patients they treat or their family, as well as donors. However, the patients can also not pay in exchange for helping the organization in anything, including making paper flowers for returning operators in case of children. In addition, Rhodes Island also undertakes contingency contracts, which apparently is where a lot of their fundings are from.

Tech Level: The world of Arknights is basically PMT NS tech level-wise, with FanT aspects. For the PMT side, aside from the landship, RI also has techs like AI (PRTS). However, a lot of these are also powered by the FanT aspect of Terra, originium. As already explained in Apto's profile for RM, originium, aside from being catalyst for Arts, also function to power most objects, including generating power for the base to function and the landship to move.
Extra Information / Quirks: As said before, RI is a medical organization for the Infected that also operates in small scale PMC missions, as well as operating on a mobile landship.

Military Description

Army: The combat department of Rhodes Island is the smallest department within the organization. It is estimated that there are around 200-300+ operators in Rhodes Island. Typical operators are equipped with standard melee weapons, ranged weapons (which mostly mean crossbows or regular bows), or staffs depending on their abilities, though they also have the option of using their own personalized weapons, which can range from simple crossbows, lances, etc to advanced guns, drones, etc. Their suits also vary, though generic ones typically wear light PMC personnel suits.

Rhodes Island operators typically operate in small squads for operation, which can consist of up to 12 operators. In addition, there are also several different teams. RI also runs a secret unit known as S.W.E.E.P., run by Kal'tsit. Known divisions are:
Elite operators: Logos, Mechanist, Outcast, Mantra, Raidian, Misery, Blaze, and Rosmontis
S.W.E.E.P.: Ascalon, Projekt Red, Scavenger (Platinum and Manticore are also possible members, but unconfirmed)
Operations team E3: Guard, Greythroat.
Operations team E4: Nearl (captain)
Special Ops Team 3: Mantra (captain), Elysium.
Reserve Ops Team A1: Fang (captain), Kroos, Beagle, Lava, Hibiscus.

There are also more, but there are not much details on these. Finally, despite of the division's seeming professionality, ultimately, they are still a security division and PMC in nature, which means they are inferior and less disciplined compared to the official army of various nations, as shown by former army members-turned-operators Bagpipe, Dur-Nar, and Nearl (who is a true knight).

Navy: As major bodies of water are relatively unknown in the world and the ocean seems to be mysterious to most people, Rhodes Island doesn't have any ships or other naval equipments at all.

Air Force: There aren't much aerial vehicles in the world of Arknights. However, Rhodes Island is shown to possess several helicopters (possibly around 10+), though they seem to only be used for helidropping operators and don't possess any combat capabilities whatsoever.

For offensive aerial capabilities, Rhodes Island probably possesses some drones for combat. These include ones that are owned by an operator, Magallan, which can switch functions to either stall enemies by freezing them, deal Arts attack, or launch explosive physical attacks.

History : (Please note that this will cover most of the AK story that is already revealed + certain CN stories that haven't been released in EN yet)
Before Rhodes Island Pharmaceutical Inc. was formed, it was preceded by a precursor organization about three years before the current story, Babel. It was a private military organization formed during the Kazdel Civil War by the Sarkaz Queen, Theresa. Most of the current figures of Rhode Island, as well as the old elite operators who were killed during the rescue mission in Chernobog were involved in the organization.

During the war, the Doctor used to be a ruthless commander who saw the operators under their command as simply chess pieces for victory, not caring about their survival at all. It was known that several operators were killed on battles, including Flamebringer's old squad. Even W was apparently horrified at the Doctor for this. The currently deceased elite operators like Ace and Scout were among the survivors of that era.

At some point during the civil war, the Doctor encountered Amiya, who was an orphan at the time. She was soon adopted. One day, a mysterious, abandoned landship was discovered from a convoy that Ines, Hedley, and W had to protect. After Theresa accessed the ship, she failed to open it, so she had Closure try to open it instead. Closure succeeded in booting up the system, and the name "Rhodes Island" was found within documents inside the ship. This would give name to the organization. Theresa would eventually be killed by her brother, Theresis, who was also the current king of Kazdel, in an ambush. Some time after this incident, Babel was disbanded and became Rhodes Island, with the Doctor getting cryogenically frozen for three years in a sarcophagus in Chernobog for unknown reasons. During this time, the organization managed to deal with the Infected Crisis, though it was also noted that apparently the Doctor's disappearance caused it to go downhill.

In December 23rd, 1096, Amiya decided to launch a rescue operation in Chernobog to awaken the Doctor. She and her teams succeed, but the Doctor suffered from amnesia. Then, Reunion Movement incited a rebellion in the city, which was also timed to happen during a Catastrophe. After facing off with Reunion, Rhodes Island managed to escape from Chernobog, but at the cost of most elite operators, including Ace and Scout.

The landship eventually moved into Lungmen few days after the incident at Chernobog, where Amiya and Kal'tsit struck a deal with its leader, Wei Yenwu. In the city, RI encountered Misha, who was one of the refugees from Chernobog. Unfortunately, the organization was then attacked by one of Reunion's leaders, Skullshatterer, who went there to find his sister, Misha, as well as carry out other operations in the city. However, Rhodes Island was aided by Blacksteel Worldwide and Penguin Logistics, allowing them to defeat and drive away Skullshatterer.

The organization soon cooperated with the Lungmen Guard Department to chase away and exterminate the rest of the Reunion force. During the battle, W convinced Skullshatterer to assassinate the Doctor after Misha was kidnapped, only for Amiya to foil it by killing Skullshatterer. Misha then took on her brother's identity and fight the RI and LGD herself, only to be killed too.

After this incident, a team comprising of Frostleaf, Meteorite, and Jessica was sent to scout Chernobog. However, they got surrounded and overwhelmed by the Reunion soldiers inside, forcing RI and the LGD to save them. During this rescue, RI encountered FrostNova and her Yeti Squadron, who almost defeated Rhodes Island. The organization fortunately survived.

During the fight, other leaders of the Reunion Movement, Faust and Crownslayer, slipped into Lungmen, taking over the LGD headquarter. As the LGD, including Ch'en, was forced to deal with the invasion, Amiya and her team were stuck for few hours in Chernobog before they got rescued by Blaze. Rhodes Island soon rescued the LGD as they were being cornered by Faust and his Phantom Crossbowmen, and Mephisto and his zombie army.

After successfully saving LGD, RI pursued the remnants of RM to exterminate them, with Faust being killed, Mephisto getting put out of commission due to the trauma of his friend's death thanks to him making his zombies berserk, Crownslaysr likewise being put out of commission by Kal'tsit revealing the truth about her father to her, and finally FrostNova succumbing to her oripathy during her final fight against Amiya, Blaze, and GreyThroat. In the aftermath of the battle, Amiya terminated her contract with Wei because he manipulated RI to protect Lungmen, as well as purging the Infected from the slums. RI also heard about how the core city of Chernobog was being sent to ram Lungmen, while broadcasting signal of the Ursus Empire to signal that attacking Chernobog meant Lungmen would be considered as declaring war against Ursus.

Four hours after the fight against FrostNova, Rhodes Island cremated her body. In the meantime, they tried to stop the core city of Chernobog from destroying Lungmen by fighting their way and infiltrating the area. After some fighting against Patriot's guerilla soldiers, RI encountered the man himself, who was the last Wendigo, another Reunion leader, and FrostNova's father. He tried to kill Amiya because he thought that the prophecy about how she would become the Demon King and brought about the destruction of the world would come true. However, Amiya managed to defeat him, and as he was dying, Patriot choose to spare Amiya instead, defying the prophecy.

The team soon continued their infiltration into the core city, while RI was already preparing on its way to the next mobile city.

These events were speculated to happen after the current main story. Grani and the Knight’s Treasure was the first to happen. There, Grani was teamed up with another operator, Skadi, to find the knight's treasure in Kazimierz. However, there was a miscommunication that caused conflict between the two. In the meantime, another Reunion leader, Big Bob, also tried to take the treasure for himself. This would eventually lead to a fight between him, Grani, and Skadi. However in the end, the conflict was resolved, with Big Bob successfully retiring in Columbia.

Meanwhile, Operational Intelligence told the history of various operators around various time. On the other hand, Heart of Surging Flame possibly took place in August of 1096, where some operators of Rhodes Island visited an independent non-mobile city called Siesta to take a vacation during the Obsidian Festival. There, the Doctor, Vigna, Hellagur, and other operators got involved in a conspiracy where Cronin, the protégé of the city's mayor, Herman, illegally mined the volcano in the city, which would trigger a catastrophe. After fighting Cronin's force, as well as Schwarz, the operators were able to stop his scheme and the originium slug queen, Pompeii.

Few months later, Mostima and Lappland would join the organization after the events of Code of Brawl in Lungmen. Another months later during the Yen New Year, Nian would join the organization, where she directed a B-movie with Lava.

History : The history of the group known as Aegis is one shrouded in mystery, not helping it is the fact that each variant of Aegis (a good chunk not even calling themselves that) have different origin stories to how they came to be. Some tell the story of them starting off as a secret detachment of the OSS made to combat against the Nazi's efforts on using the occult as a weapon during World War Two. One claims they were once many anomalous organizations once prevent the world from destroying itself from occult warfare during World War One and merged as one organization after the war. Others claim that their history started in the 1920s and can be traces back to a raid in which a small town lead by a witch cult that worshiped dark gods and inhumane creatures was destroyed by the combine arms of both the military and federal agencies and the brave men who survive the operation form a precursor group to combat against the supernatural.

A few can trace their history as far as to the Hellenistic era as far as predecessors. The story changes depending on who you get it from as one can get their origins coming from the American Civil War to even Roswell. However what is know is that Aegis is an old power and has probably changed many times to adjust to the times. Yet even as the change they still keep to their main mission on investigating and understanding the beings and forces that most would call supernatural while protecting mankind from the more hostile elements of the paranormal and hiding its existence to insure mankind's physical, mental and social well being until such a time when either mankind is ready for the truth or when Aegis finally has a clear enough grasp of the supernatural to make it natural to the common man to reveal it to all.

To achieve this mission Aegis contacts men and women who show a level of physical and mental aptitude that they believe makes them possess the physical and mental capabilities to perform their task most efficiently. With most agents and members for their task force they prefer to pick members who profession has them ties with Intelligence Agencies, Militaries and Law Enforcement, members of Occult Circles and members of Academia; the latter of the two being useful for research as agents and may even prove to sources of valuable knowledge for task force members, however most from Academia often become researchers which along with universities are also sought from many scientists and medical circles with an occasional lone doctor and scientists being granted membership in the organization due to their talents and knowledge of their field.

AEGIS also carries a network of civilian members known as “friendlies” who while are aware of the organization's existence and even participate in AEGIS operations are not considered true members of the organization. Many of these friendlies take on occupations that are important for AEGIS but are not occupations that would produce either agents or researchers just as antiquarian, office worker, banker, and more. They are the sort who while they may not see as much action often serve the vital line of keeping the organization running on the administrative level. Often friendlies whose occupations are more vital for AEGIS’s administrative departments often become agents much more quickly, some have been known to even join agent cells.

Each agents and task force members are assigned into cells with each one being only aware of the agents by their code names. This is done to minimize the severity of information leaks. Agents and task force members are given as much information as it is believed necessary based on the case at hand and their weapons and equipment are also determined by their mission.

Along with willfully deploying anomalous weapons and assets for their mission they also are willing to hire both individuals with paranatural abilities and extranormal entities to work with them should they sign a binding contract and be proven to be both useful to the organization and tame enough that if let out they won’t be a danger to the public at large or try to feel from AEGIS.

Tech Level: Everything from modern weapons, machines made of junk that works by clever engineering and miracles, a working railgun, an airship defying gravity, to actual magic itself. From steampowered robots, clockwork computers that can predict the futures, cellphones that can kill people by text, to rooms that are far larger than what the exterior of a building suggests. The Order is similar to AEGIS in the technological variety but have been around much longer and as such have a greater scope in paratech and occult knowledge.
Extra Information/Quirks: The Order is a confederation made up of numerous mystery cults, powerful cabals, secret societies, ancient bloodlines, and lone individuals. The Order has more practitioners of magic, psionically gifted individuals, and supernatural entities in their ranks than AEGIS. The organization even has members of entire anomalous states as members of the group. The Order has strongholds in pocket dimensions and other realms (most of which are now inaccessible after the shift).

In the Celestial Order there are 8 ranks (though rumors of a secretive ninth exists) each divided into three circles. From the Outer Circle the ranks of Initiate, Novice, Adept are found. Most of these members solely operate on Earth and usually at the local level at wherever their lodges are located; usually members who are entirely normal are stuck at the Outer Circle ranks and can only rise up by gaining anomalous abilities.

The next ranks are Theorist, Practitioner, Philosopher of the Middle Circle. These members are composed of mages, espers, monsters and other anomalous individuals and their missions not only become more global but even take them to other worlds as well. For them they have the option to create their own lodges and be in charge of it like those in the adept rank.

Finally we have the Inner Circle composed of Masters and Grand Masters (with the rumored Secret Chief above the Grand Masters) Masters are the most knowledgeable and powerful members and are often called to deal with the most dangerous and important missions. The Grand Masters are in charge of running the Order itself, should the Secret Chief exist than they are the first among equals and is the true master mind of the Order as the Grand Masters just assist with administration and bureaucracy.

Organization Goals:

The three main goals of the Order is to gather all knowledge of reality, most of it being occult and supernatural knowledge. To form a fraternal order to provide for both mutual aid and protection for all members in the Order and to ensure the continual existence of magic, paranormal species, and individual members lives.


History : Preceptors, observers, beholders, chroniclers of mysteries and the unexplainable; these are just one of many titles attached to the ancient order known to most as the Ordo Coeleste. The order has existed in many incarnations, all following the dangerous but rewarding task of observing and recording the eldritch lore and dark secrets of the world and categorizing the numerous anomalous phenomenons and entities along with collecting objects attached to these anomalies.

The Ordo Coeleste has as an extensive, complicated, and murky history that has fact and fiction easily blur together to make it hard to know what events in their past is true. One such example of this fusion of factual historical information and folklore that has passed through the ages is that the order was a mysterious sect of scholars traces its origins far deeper to that of Babylon and with rumors that state that they were these scholars where planner that designed the blueprints for the mythical Tower of Babylon to reach to the heaven and gain the knowledge of the gods, an order that fled to Egypt once the tower was destroyed.

The order stayed in the land of the pharaohs to fulfill their mission and for many years lived in peace until they assisted Nitocris and many others in a conspiracy to kill her brother after he gain access to dark magic to manipulate both spirits of the dead and the inhuman, fleeing when they found out that the female pharaoh was possessed by some of the former pharaohs spirits and tried to kill them all, yet a few of their eldest members remained as they made a pact with the female pharaoh to make sure that should she become a thrall to her brother's spirits that they would burn her and all of the thralls created by the dark spirits.

With their oldest members gone, many of whom were the leaders of the order, many fled to either Greece or Persia and formed different branches of the order. Those of Greece lived in the city state of Athens and attracted many great scholars and philosophers, with rumors of some of the great intellectual minds of ancient Greece either having members or knowing members of the order. The Greek order would assist Athens in their war against Sparta using their arcane knowledge and supernatural powers and while at first it was enough to help Athens win several key battles they did not turn the tide enough to win the war as Sparta had too many skilled generals and deadly military tactics on their side along with their allies. The Greek Order also encountered a hidden cabal of war mages within Sparta who during the war fought for Sparta and manage to overwhelm the order due to their skills on war based magic. Once Athens lost and Sparta was in charge many from the Greek Order fled to Persia.

By the time Alexander the Great arrived and conquered Persia the two separate orders were already reunited and each learned much from their former wayward counterparts and with the Macedonian general king conquering Persia, Egypt, and Greece many within the precursor order decided to once more create new branches back in former lands the order once called home. When Alexandra's empire fractured the group that soon be called the Ordo Coeleste also fractured into three separate sects but unlike the empire of the great general king their break up was more controlled and it was done to increase the survival of the order as a whole.

Those that went to Egypt would find the perfect location to serve as their headquarters as the Macedonian king left behind a great structure that would serve as the archives for all fields of knowledge for mankind to use, the Great library of Alexandria. The Egyptian order would worked in a hidden section within the Library of Alexandria that collected many occult tomes and arcane literature and many other scrolls and books that relate to the supernatural and metaphysical aspects of the world while gathering books on more secular parts, making copies of what they have learned in the great library and sending these copies to their counterparts throughout the known world throughout the known world.

By the time Rome conquered both Greece and Egypt the two orders from those states were able to adapt quite nicely with Roman life and some even gain great positions within the Roman senate and can even influence politics within the republic. However this increase in their power and their keeping of dangerous occult tomes that they willing allow any person to read should they pay the right fee drawn in many enemies like the Cult of Mercury and one secret society that is rumor to have been an older incarnation of the modern occult organization AEGIS, it was these two great powers in the Roman occult underground and others that convinced the famous general and future dictator of Rome, Gaius Julius Caesar, to march his army to Egypt and to burn down the library, making the Egyptian order scatter throughout the Roman Republic, some being killed by their enemies while others manage to disappear into safe houses.

Those in Persia while remaining safe from the onslaught that befell their Egyptian brothers and sisters from Persia however as Shapur II religious policies became harsher many fled as they feared that they would eventually suffer the wrath of the Persian ruler for hersey. However even their safe haven in Rome would soon find trouble as Constantine the Great would make Christianity the main religion of the Roman Empire and do to their work being related to sorcery and pagan faiths along with holding knowledge that contradicts with what was told in the Bible the members of the Order would be persecuted by zealot mobs and many of their artifacts and books destroyed and burned, the worse of these assaults being done the Coptic Pope Theophilus who lead a mob to destroy the daughter library of the Great Library of Alexandria.

As the Christians of Rome continue to attack the order, some being secretly lead by their enemies who were also being attacked by the same mob, many fled back to Persia as the harsh policies of religion eventually faded and it appeared as a safe haven with only some refusing to move and instead cleverly make fake renouncement of their ties with the order and convert to Christianity but still uphold their duty to the Order. Those in Persia would eventually do the same once the Muslims conquer the former great empire.

The history of the order by this is working within the shadows to perform their duties while avoiding the eyes of most religious authorities. Oddly a splinter group of the order would break away from the main order once the Crusades was called and many Christian members took the offer of annulments from the Pope to heart and a chance to reclaim lost knowledge that they believe was stolen from the Muslims, this splinter group would be known throughout history as the Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon, or known simply as the Knights Templar.

When King Philip IV of France, who was deeply in debt to the Templars, took advantage of the growing distrust the public had to the order and captured and tortured many to confess to either false crimes or even force them to reveal their ties to the proto Ordo Coeleste who used them to pressure Pope Clement V to disband the order. Many templars either fled into hiding and perished, only a few ever found a warm welcome back to the order as most perished before they can ever reunite to their old comrades.

Back in the Muslim world the branch there were shocked that members from the Christian World would join the invading armies and believing that they were abandoned cut any remaining ties with their European counterparts and began to work alone, when the Ottoman Empire conquer the falling Byzantine Empire any occult tomes and artifacts not taken by the Byzantine Order were taken by their former allies who joined the Ottomans in taking Constantinople.

The history of the Order for most of the history of the Old World is them trying to fulfil their history while getting involved in both the secular and religious institutions of their home lands to better use their political power to strike against their enemies, the most prevalent victims of these machinations being the proto AEGIS at the time who the Order ruthlessly attacked that many would flee to the New World once it is discover, yet a few stay just to use the same tactics against the Order with the worst example coming from the Spanish Inquisition which saw members from both groups being killed by Spanish Inquisitors, often them being lead by members by the rival factions.

By the time of the Enlightenment most of the conflict between the Order and AEGIS (who they began to call the Illuminati after they found that many of their members had ties with the Bavarian Illuminati and even agree with their ideas) and their wayward cousins from the Ottoman Empire, stuck in a tense cold war where most tried to main a measure of diplomacy to keep peace while also engaging in plenty of espionage against each other and building complicated network of alliances with other factions in the secret world and building up their occult weaponry. Many from these factions knew that war would eventually erupt but from time to time many great leaders from these factions diverted the flames of war from these groups, at least until World War One.

Once the sparks were ignited a great occult war was being waged in the shadows of the Great War; modern technology and antediluvian thaumaturgy along with experimental technomancy and paranormal technologies were used against these great powers of ancient secrets and by the end the wayward order of the east was vanquished and assimilated to the Order with a few fleeing further east or to Africa and with AEGIS being able to fully solidify their hold in the Americas and regain a strong presence in Europe once more. Just like the nations of the Great War the many occult factions in the Secret World came out with a sense of disappointment about how the world end.

Most occult organization during the interwar period tried to live in peace but when Adolf Hitler and the Nazis began their attack on the nations of Europe so too did they attack all factions within the Occult Underground. The Nazi elites were believers of the occult with Schutzstaffel (SS) Chief Heinrich Himmler being the most devoted (some would say obsessed). Himmler would use his authority and with order from the fuhrer to create a specific department in the SS that deals with the occult and the supernatural to find in any use for the Nazi war effort after reports of members within both the Ahnenerbe and Sonderkommando H of witnessing unexplained phenomena and creatures, and after a select few members from the Thulegesellschaft, or Thule Society, showed them rituals that produce real magic. This secret department would be known as the Karotechia.

Many cults, cabals, secret societies, and lone practicers of magic were targeted the Karotechia to either force them to reveal everything that they know about the occult or to force them to work with them, all while taking every arcane artifact they known and killing all of their loved ones that were useless to them. However some factions and people were killed either because they resisted against the Karotechia or because they were seen as undesirables by the Nazi racial doctrine. Of the many groups targeted the Ordo Coeleste was one of the Karotechia’s high priority target for their wealth or eldritch lore and artifacts. The order fought bravely against the march of the Third Reich but each battle saw them on the retreat as more of their members and items in their collection was taken from them until they all fled to either the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, the United States, or other parts of the world.

Eventually they would join with their former enemy AEGIS (now known as Omega Grey) in forming a secret division within the OSS along with other occultists, sorcerers, and many others aware of the secret world to fight against the Karotechia and would continue to fight them long after the war to ensure the Karotechia can never again become a threat. The final days of World War Two had both AEGIS and the Ordo Coeleste fighting against the Karotechia in Germany in Operation Lunacy to prevent them from achieving a dangerous ritual that would see the destruction of Germany in order to to prevent it from being occupied by the invading Ally forces, a conflicted that lasted even a few years after the war's end, and Operation Ice Fortress which saw the last battle in World War Two in Antarctica to destroy a secret base located in the frozen continent.

By the time the Axis Powers have been defeated and the US and Soviets began the Cold War, Ordo Coeleste was still too weaken by the war to try and stop Soviet involvement in the European occult underground for the use of gathering new resources for their military arms and so have to rely on assistance from AEGIS who also found both American and Russian interest in occult weaponry troubling. This partnerships would result in the two factions not only spying on the two superpowers, and sometimes even undermining supernatural experiments, but also allow both factions easier access into continents that were normally seen as each other’s territories, giving them greater global reach.

With the end of the Cold War and the modern Age of Terror now looming over the Order’s head they have adapted to modernity but still keep their aged old traditions, customs, and beliefs alive. Yet within the Order there is a growing unrest between the more conservative members who wish to keep all traditions alive and to slow down modern change and a new generation who believes that the Order most turn away from more unpleasant traditions and to further embrace the ways of modernity, often in the form of new convenient and paranormal technology along with more liberal ideals.

Their relationship with AEGIS is complicated as most still wish to stay in good relationships but still don’t fully trust the organization nor do they agree with some of their actions, a sentiment also shared by AEGIS towards the Order. Because of the threat of rogue members wishing to make the two organizations fight they have formed a special committee to deal with such rough agents and anyone who wants to make the two powers fight once more. Also the remnants of the Ottoman branch of the Order have return and many of them wish to destroy the Order for what they have done to them back in World War One.

One such example of this fusion of factual historical information and folklore that has passed through the ages is that the order was a mysterious sect of scholars traces its origins far deeper to that of Babylon and with rumors that state that they were these scholars where planner that designed the blueprints for the mythical Tower of Babylon to reach to the heaven and gain the knowledge of the gods, an order that fled to Egypt once the tower was destroyed.

The order stayed in the land of the pharaohs to fulfill their mission and for many years lived in peace until they assisted Nitocris and many others in a conspiracy to kill her brother after he gain access to dark magic to manipulate both spirits of the dead and the inhuman, fleeing when they found out that the female pharaoh was possessed by some of the former pharaohs spirits and tried to kill them all, yet a few of their eldest members remained as they made a pact with the female pharaoh to make sure that should she become a thrall to her brother's spirits that they would burn her and all of the thralls created by the dark spirits.

With their oldest members gone, many of whom were the leaders of the order, many fled to either Greece or Persia and formed different branches of the order. Those of Greece lived in the city state of Athens and attracted many great scholars and philosophers, with rumors of some of the great intellectual minds of ancient Greece either having members or knowing members of the order. The Greek order would assist Athens in their war against Sparta using their arcane knowledge and supernatural powers and while at first it was enough to help Athens win several key battles they did not turn the tide enough to win the war as Sparta had too many skilled generals and deadly military tactics on their side along with their allies. The Greek Order also encountered a hidden cabal of war mages within Sparta who during the war fought for Sparta and manage to overwhelm the order due to their skills on war based magic. Once Athens lost and Sparta was in charge many from the Greek Order fled to Persia.

By the time Alexander the Great arrived and conquered Persia the two separate orders were already reunited and each learned much from their former wayward counterparts and with the Macedonian general king conquering Persia, Egypt, and Greece many within the precursor order decided to once more create new branches back in former lands the order once called home. When Alexandra's empire fractured the group that soon be called the Ordo Coeleste also fractured into three separate sects but unlike the empire of the great general king their break up was more controlled and it was done to increase the survival of the order as a whole.

Those that went to Egypt would find the perfect location to serve as their headquarters as the Macedonian king left behind a great structure that would serve as the archives for all fields of knowledge for mankind to use, the Great library of Alexandria. The Egyptian order would worked in a hidden section within the Library of Alexandria that collected many occult tomes and arcane literature and many other scrolls and books that relate to the supernatural and metaphysical aspects of the world while gathering books on more secular parts, making copies of what they have learned in the great library and sending these copies to their counterparts throughout the known world throughout the known world.

By the time Rome conquered both Greece and Egypt the two orders from those states were able to adapt quite nicely with Roman life and some even gain great positions within the Roman senate and can even influence politics within the republic. However this increase in their power and their keeping of dangerous occult tomes that they willing allow any person to read should they pay the right fee drawn in many enemies like the Cult of Mercury and one secret society that is rumor to have been an older incarnation of the modern occult organization AEGIS, it was these two great powers in the Roman occult underground and others that convinced the famous general and future dictator of Rome, Gaius Julius Caesar, to march his army to Egypt and to burn down the library, making the Egyptian order scatter throughout the Roman Republic, some being killed by their enemies while others manage to disappear into safe houses.

Those in Persia while remaining safe from the onslaught that befell their Egyptian brothers and sisters from Persia however as Shapur II religious policies became harsher many fled as they feared that they would eventually suffer the wrath of the Persian ruler for hersey. However even their safe haven in Rome would soon find trouble as Constantine the Great would make Christianity the main religion of the Roman Empire and do to their work being related to sorcery and pagan faiths along with holding knowledge that contradicts with what was told in the Bible the members of the Order would be persecuted by zealot mobs and many of their artifacts and books destroyed and burned, the worse of these assaults being done the Coptic Pope Theophilus who lead a mob to destroy the daughter library of the Great Library of Alexandria.

As the Christians of Rome continue to attack the order, some being secretly lead by their enemies who were also being attacked by the same mob, many fled back to Persia as the harsh policies of religion eventually faded and it appeared as a safe haven with only some refusing to move and instead cleverly make fake renouncement of their ties with the order and convert to Christianity but still uphold their duty to the Order. Those in Persia would eventually do the same once the Muslims conquer the former great empire.

The history of the order by this is working within the shadows to perform their duties while avoiding the eyes of most religious authorities. Oddly a splinter group of the order would break away from the main order once the Crusades was called and many Christian members took the offer of annulments from the Pope to heart and a chance to reclaim lost knowledge that they believe was stolen from the Muslims, this splinter group would be known throughout history as the Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon, or known simply as the Knights Templar.

When King Philip IV of France, who was deeply in debt to the Templars, took advantage of the growing distrust the public had to the order and captured and tortured many to confess to either false crimes or even force them to reveal their ties to the proto Ordo Coeleste who used them to pressure Pope Clement V to disband the order. Many templars either fled into hiding and perished, only a few ever found a warm welcome back to the order as most perished before they can ever reunite to their old comrades.

Economic Policy : Dragnet is first and foremost a transportation and logistics company tasked with uniting the remnants of humanity while also making a profit. Their specialization come from delivering goods and constructing roads, infrastructure, and any means necessary to make sure they can reach as much of humanity as possible. It was them who made the multilayer Hollow Earth Network and expanded beyond that to include other means of resource gathering, R&D, and even military to ensure that they unite their planet and profit from it.

Because of this, they take it in a stride to focus on the conservation of markets they get into while also finding new ways to get into new markets, This brand of conservatism comes in the strides that they want to ensure that the resources of tomorrow are always there without over exploiting them. The second part of this comes from that they are a company, built to profit off the need for transportation and resources to be delivered at a moments notice.

If anything were to hinder them or stop them, then they would try find ways to get around it, including military action should it happen to be forced.

Tech Level: The general technology of Dragnet is centered around the year of 2080s-2100. Major advancements come in the use of infrastructure building, medicine and information technologies. They are one of the few places to have been able to produce cures for most of the causes of diseases and illness in the Fallen World and even have made advance cybernetics and biomods to common people. A sight of transhumanism is seen in those who work for Dragnet and are underneath the earth. Androids with advanced AI are given rights, healthcare, and payment like any other worker.

Such site is not entirely uncommon to those that work in their world but there have always been anti-AI groups. Weaponry and military isn't all that advanced compared to other factions in their world due to their specialization in logistics and transportation. Their currency is digital and backed by resources and credit exchange than any sort of physical currency as luxury metals and goods are not worth it unlike in the modern world.

Weaponry ranges from coil guns to energy weaponry. Tanks and mechs are commonplace but are autonomous and treated as drones than armored divisions. Androids and humans fight in power armor in variants but other than that they aren't the most advanced or even military-focused organization so they are lagging behind in military tech at the moment.

Army:The army numbers around 150,000. The common security soldier is outfitted with the TM-20 Guass Auto, which is an assault rifle railgun that itself hits fast with being able to put out 50 rounds per magazine. They are also outfitted with power armor of different varieties but mostly they are capable of allowing some augmented strength and speed. Cybernetic implants also helps in the survival of the soldier and the enhancements.

Between Android spec-ops, autonomous drones and tanks, they are inexperience when it comes to fighting any big major powers or those are professional military corporations. They are a glorified self-defense force that protects the tunnels and other assets.

History : Dragnet was formed one hundred years after the end of the world. Formed by what was left of the world's last trading caravans, transport convoys, and logistics companies for the sake of unite their fallen world. They started out small, working between local settlements but then starting to grow to the point where Dragnet grew within one of the biggest regional powers in their own wasteland. Underneath them, trade and competition flourish while Dragnet was able to be a megacorp as they strecth beyond just regional power into a continental one.

In the next two hundred years, they set to build roads, establish their own caravans and security forces to protect them. They even went as far as to start developing their own R&D in order to make better logistics in order make things safer. Eventually during this 200 years, they had been able to start digging underground and help make the first layers of what will be the Hollow Earth Network as they started to reconnect the entirety of the West by starting in their home, North America.

As another 100 years pass by, they managed to not just connect North and South America but started to connect to those in Europe. From one big node to another, they started to become more of an underground network and started to build their own cities in order to further build their Network around the world. Among the greatest of their cities was the city of Agartha, which was build deep into the upper mantle and feed off of the thermoenergy and the were able to support their own manufactured goods by the large-scale mining.

By seven hundred years they had became one of the greatest companies in human history, being larger than the East India Trading Company and a pillar of uniting humanity. They had millions of workers and soldiers as they formed a beating heart of civilization that many of the new nations relied upon or have kept their growing power in check as they were a relic of an ancient time.

However the CEO of the company was looking into the next venture, space. With space exploration and colonization in places such as Mars and the Moon then Dragnet could keep itself from being defeated by stagnation before the displacement happened. They had lost nearly everything, their Network was compromised and nearly 2/3rds of it was gone. Europe and Africa were not responding but only had faint signals in those areas, over 60% of their workforce was gone and only Agartha stood. Technology, production and everything they strove to build for the past seven centuries had been nearly destroyed.

Now, in this new world, they are crippled and nearly locked away in their underground city they search out to figure out what happened and see what the future unfolds for their people and the company of Dragnet.

Flag / National Symbols: The banner of the Commonwealth of Northern Republics is an emblem of one colour consisting of a stylised motif of a swan inscribed in a circle formed of a sickle on its lower hoist side and one-half a gear in its upper fly side laid against a plain background of another colour. The two dominant traditions for colour are blue-white or white-blue more commonly used for civil-national purposes and the yellow-red more commonly used for state or military purposes, with black-white coming a close third, but no colour scheme is formally defined and more exotic colours (including Bergen City Hall's purple-lime that everyone agrees is a nightmarish eyesore) are both perfectly acceptable and can be frequently seen. The insignia of the Commonwealth is the same, except that the background is circular and not rectangular.

Government Type: Norden considers itself a Sambandsríki, often translated as Confederation or Commonwealth. In practice, the country is a liberal republic of sorts.

Head of Government: In practice, the day-to-day affairs of State are managed by the Lord High Justiciar of the Realm, (Esperanto-B: la Intendanto de Hyperboreo; High Scandinavian: Ríkismaður Norðurlands; Low Scandinavian: Nordens Rigsdrost; Finnish: Valtakunnandrotsi), the office of which is held by "Skogens" Rayner Kastarsson av Trondhjem as of 1631 Nuclear Era.
Government Description: Hyperborea is definitely a republic in practice as well as in theory and it has many features of a liberal state, with the Rights and Liberties of the Citizen being extensively entrenched in the culture of the nation, a sort of independent and very fair if sometimes unforgiving judicial system overseeing a stable rule of law, and a relatively trustworthy society where efficiency is valued and corruption, especially when compared to its neighbours, is at a minimum. Notably, however, this liberalism is largely limited only to Norden's own citizens; the Rights of Liberties of the Citizen is very much of the Citizen and not of Man in general, and slavery in the form of nerve-stapled drones still exists for prisoners of war and other such captured foreigners. Furthermore, because the Hyperborean so-called "State" is a jumbled mess of Councils and Assemblies, Departments and Bureaus, Municipalities and Counties, Syndicates and Labour Divisions, Commissions and Special Districts of all sizes, structures, and varieties, only some of which hold formal public elections, most of which have esoteric rules of succession, and the relationship between which are constantly in flux, it is difficult to say whether Hyperborea is a democracy and, indeed, it is difficult to say anything meaningful about the Northern system of government at all.

Territory: The territory of the Hyperborean Confederation consists of Jutland north of the real-life historical southern border of the Duchy of Schleswig, Fennoscandia east of the real-life pre-1917 eastern border of the Grand Duchy of Finland, the Danish and Baltic islands in between, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Greenland, and all the small subsidiary islands in their respective coastal waters. The concept of "international waters" has long been lost to history, and as such the Hyperborean Confederation also considers the nearby waters to be an integral part of its sovereign territory. A map may be found here, with currently-controlled land territories in light colours, territorial ambitions in light gray, and land of no interest in dark gray.
Territorial Ambitions: The Commonwealth has always desired a shorter and more defensible eastern land border, which may be achieved by annexing large parts of what used to be northern Russia and moving the frontier to the Neva and Svir Rivers, and further desires to control the vulnerable supply lines between Iceland and mainland Scandinavia by conquering the Scottish islands. The Commonwealth also claims as its territory almost the entirety of the Baltic, North, Norwegian, and Arctic Seas as well as substantial portions of the North Atlantic.
Capital City: The capital city of the Northern States is Soundstead (Esperanto-B), also called Sundstaðr (High Scandinavian) or Sundstad (Low Scandinavian). It is said that many hundreds of years ago, the districts that today form Soundstead, such as Copenhagen, Lund, or Malmø, were once separate cities of their own right, which over time merged into what is today the largest and most populated city in all of Hyperborea. Unlike many other cities of its size, Soundstead is fairly lightly defended, having only a basic complement of anti-aircraft artillery and no walls at all, and instead relies on its defensible location, with one half being on an island and the other half being separated from the Old Continent by sea, to defend itself.
Population: According to the Great Census of 1630, the total population of the Northern States is 25.45 million residents, of which perhaps two-thirds are citizens, one-twelfth are free alien, and one-quarter nerve-stapled drones. By Republic, this breaks down to 7.68 millions in Denmark, 7.31 millions in Sweden, 5.46 millions in Finland, and 5.00 millions in Norway. The population density roughly follows latitude, being highest in the southernmost regions where the largest cities are located and thinning out further towards the north.

Majority/Official Culture: According to the Great Census of 1630, Low Scandinavian (39.8%, among citizens) is the most widely spoken language of the Confederation of Hyperborean Republics, but the primary language used in governance, administration, high finance, and diplomacy is High Scandinavian (19.9%). Finnish (19.7%) and Esperanto-B (14.3%) are also officially recognised and all State institutions are required to accommodate speakers of these languages everywhere in the Confederation. Karelian (2.5%), Pan-Saxian (2.1%), Sami (0.4%), and Thulean (0.3%) hold some degree of local or regional recognition, but are not nationally recognised. Smaller minority languages exist, but they are not recognised. Free aliens in the Confederation speak mostly Albionic Celtic, Kalevan, or South Baltic if they have not yet been integrated into one of Hyperborea's own cultures, although since the Census does not ask for the primary language of non-citizens it's hard to know exactly what proportion of free aliens speak each of these languages. Nerve-stapled drones have no free thought and thus no culture, and are trained to speak whatever Northern language is convenient to the citizens around them.

Majority/State Religion: The Northern Commonwealth does not recognise an official State religion. The dominant majority of Hyperboreans are either nonreligious or follow some kind of local polytheistic or animistic folk faith, but organised religion is not completely absent from the country: the Nobelian Church has a considerable following primarily in the major cities.

Major Industries / Economic sectors: Norden's economy is diverse and it's difficult to point out any particularly significant industries, but compared to its neighbouring states Norden does have an unusually large resource extraction industry due to its somewhat extensive territory as well as its surrounding oceans giving it a far larger area to exploit than other countries of comparable strength and stature.

Economic Description: The economy of the Northern Commonwealth could perhaps be called state-capitalistic, although given the convoluted and devolutionary nature of Northern governance it is often difficult to say where State institutions stop and the private economy begins. Like any other country large enough to do so, Norden runs its economy largely as an autarky, with very little in the way of foreign trade and most of that being natural resources or luxuries. As a result, the country is significantly poorer than its very high level of infrastructural and capital development might otherwise suggest. Economic thought in the country is primarily nationalistic, with the idea that the productivity of a country's citizens ought to, above all else, support the strength of the nation against foreign aggression. Surprisingly, this thought does lead to a fairly egalitarian economy with solid investments into public health and education with the idea that a free, healthy, and intelligent citizen is a more capable soldier than a peasant.

Technological Level: With regards information and communications technology, Hyperborea and its predecessor states have made very slow progress since the dawn of history, with desktop computing and a primitive intranet - so far only connecting government, military, and educational institutions being connected - being the height of technology in this regard. The same goes for energy, with Hyperborea being largely dependent on hydrocarbons scraped from the seafloor to sustain its burgeoning economy. In terms of biotechnology, robotics, and materials science, however, the country has advanced significantly even during recorded history, with innovations such as gene therapy, nano-plasteel, and cybernetic implants being commonplace and even more futuristic advances starting to materialise on the drawing boards of engineers. (So basically, 1980s information technology, post-modern-tech energy technology, and everything else is future-tech.)

Military Description

Army: Unlike many other armies of its time and its world, the Northern Army has only a very small force of armour, and even that's mostly light armour at that. Rather, the country relies on its Hunters (Esperanto-B: Ĉasisto; Low Scandinavian: Jæger), heavy infantry armed with bolt rifles and clad in power armour, as its elite shock assault force, backed by artillery support and a far larger force of light infantry holding needleguns and protected by blunt jackets. The Northern Army, like the other two branches of service in the Northern Armed Forces, is a force that definitely prioritises quality over quantity, and has an apparently small force that can punch far above its weight. The Army fields 15 Hunter Corps, each 3,000 troops, and 20 Infantry Divisions, each 12,000 troops, for a total paper strength of 285,000. This is supported by a reservist National Guard of about 80,000~100,000 personnel.

Navy: The Navy consists primarily of three components: its Strike Fleets, mostly a force of battleships and heavy cruisers supported by destroyers, its Rapid Response Squadrons, which consists of one light cruiser with a screen of destroyers and submarine support, and its Coast Guard, which consists mostly of corvettes and patrol boats and is mostly engaged in coastal defence as well as nonmilitary search and rescue work. There are four Strike Fleets, the Baltic, North Sea, Norwegian Sea, and Arctic Fleets, and a couple dozen Rapid Response Squadrons in the Navy. The Navy does not field carriers and prioritises surface ships over submarines, making it a tool of crushing victory in the immediate waters surrounding the Commonwealth's territory, as opposed to being a tool of force projection or skirmishes. All in all the maritime forces of the Northern Armed Forces employees a nominal 94,000 personnel.

Air Force: The Northern Air Force are organised into Air Divisions, each of which contains on paper a total of 200 aircraft, or ten squadrons of 20. In reality squadrons are rarely precisely 20 aircraft and Air Divisions that have a couple fewer or more squadrons than the organisational chart states are not uncommon. There are Fighter Air Divisions, which consists of fighter-interceptors, ground support, and tactical bombers, Bomber Air Divisions, which consists of tactical bombers, strategic bombers, and heavy fighters, and Naval Air Divisions, which consists of fighter-interceptors and naval bombers. All in all the Air Force fields five Fighter Air Divisions, three Bomber Air Divisions, and two Naval Air Divisions, for a total theoretical force of 2,000 aircraft and 60,000 personnel.

National Goals: Alt for Norden! The Hyperborean Confederacy desires two things. First, to defend itself from foreign aggression, to protect its liberties and unique way of life from the threat posed by overseas perfidy and totalitarianism, and to defend the lives, prosperity, and happiness of its citizens. Second, to aggress against foreign defence, to subjugate and enslave foreign populations for the glory of Norden, to build a sphere of influence around itself, and to hear the name of its great citizens whispered in awe and fear alike in all corners of the world!

History: One day, the First Men of Earth detonated a nuclear explosive in a legendary, now long-lost temple named Trinity, thus ending the Age of Barbarism and beginning both history and civilisation. This is today considered to be Year 1 of the Standard Calendar. Not much is known about this earliest period of history, the records mostly being lost in the centuries since, but it is known that the Three Atomic Superpowers rapidly expanded across the surface of the Earth, conquering primitive barbarians who did not know the arts of nuclear fire. Certainly by 250 N.E., and in all probability earlier, the Earth was perfectly partitioned between the Three Atomic Superpowers, each of them too large to be conquered by the other two, locked in endless conflict with each other. The stalemate could only be broken by the cleansing fire of nuclear war, which finally purged the Earth of the endless war, the Three Atomic Superpowers who fought in it, and the vile Threeist faiths they served at 476 N.E.

The tribes that would one day go on to establish the Commonwealth of Hyperborean Republics emerged from the shattered ruins of what used to be the northern half of the North Atlantic Special Administrative Region, a province of the Atomic Superpower of Eurasia. The period immediately following the fall of the Three Atomic Superpowers is characterised by mass illiteracy, constant tribal struggle, and poor recordskeeping, so the historical record is neither clear nor precise, but strong hatred of indeterminate origin between the Prolen tribes, speaking High or Low Scandinavian, and the Parti tribes, speaking Esperanto-B, emerged, ending only when the Prolen fully subjugated the Parti and established their kingdoms across Scandinavia.

Stanislav II of the Iron Justicarium (today more commonly known as Stas the Conquerer) conquered Finland throughout the 790s and soon forced the Scandinavian kingdoms into tributary status, under threat of razing the region's cities and enslaving all of its inhabitants to be worked in the reclamation of the Central Asian deserts, and over the following decades they came to be more and more integrated into the Justicarium. The forced assimilation policies of Karin the Petran and Stanislav IV (i.e. Stas the Butcher), as well as the reign of terror of the latter, outraged Finn, Scandinavian, and Esperanto-speaker alike and lit the fires of unrest across the entire province, which not even the retributions of Stas the Butcher and subsequent Justiciars could suppress.

Eventually, the decadence of the Iron Justicarium's ruling dynasty caught up to it and, during the First Great European War of the 10th Century led to the widespread perception of the Justicarium's weakness, leading Soundstead's burghers to declare independence from the Iron Justicarium in 924 N.E. and the declaration was rapidly adopted by many prominent local merchants and industrialists across Scandinavia. After a hard fought war, which spluttered out rather than being concluded by a proper peace treaty but is nonetheless considered to have ended with the decisive Scandinavia victory in the naval Gulf of Riga skirmishes in 927. The slow decline of the Justicarium and its eventual collapse in the centuries after prompted the expansion of the Hyperborean State into Finland, even as the new country fought multiple low-intensity and ultimately indecisive wars against the Albionic kingdoms, Saxia, and the petty merchant republics of the Baltic Coast.

The necessity of raising popular support for these wars fought against much more powerful enemies, and the concession made to the mercantile and plebian classes by the royalty over these centuries, slowly but surely decentralised the Hyperborean State and is the origin of the byzantine system of governance that the Commonwealth has today. Eventually, the Reproductive Crisis of 1397 (about which the less said, the better) forced the abdication of the monarchy and the establishment of the modern Hyperborean Confederation.

Although the Hyperborean Confederation remained, as with the State that preceded it, locked in on-and-off conflict with enemies on all sides and these enemies continued to be far more populated and industrialised than the Hyperborean Confederation, the power and influence of the artisan, mercantile, and intellectual classes in the Northern Republics, which was far greater than those of their counterparts in the Commonwealth's neighbours, led to the Commonwealth's military holding a decisive technological and organisational advantage over its enemies. By 1631, when the Great Transition occurred, the country had already built for itself a sizable sphere of influence for itself across the Baltic Coast... and now, in this new world, it has every intention of replicating that feat. Or trying, at least.

Military Description
The Indian Military is one of the largest in its world, only beaten by the PROC and the USSR, with a total of 2.9 million active personnel. It is, across the board, relatively poorly equipped, with an emphasis on Quantity over Quality, and an even higher emphasis on simplicity and reliability. Most Indian equipment and ships are imported from the USSR or PROC, however a significant minority of small arms, and a majority of aircraft, are Indian manufactured.

Army: The Indian Military is one of the largest in its world, only beaten by the PROC and the USSR, with a total of 2.9 million active personnel, the largest portion of which is stationed on the Indo-Pakistani and Indo-Afghani borders. They are relatively poorly equipped, however, with mainly secondhand Soviet and Chinese equipment, or equipment from them built on license. Those few Indian weapons and armoured vehicles are considered generally to be slightly inferior to their Chinese counterparts. The Indian armoured corps is small, with most of India's emphasis being put on infantry, and with most of their armoured force being made up of apcs, ifvs, and faster, lighter tanks.

Navy: The Indian Navy is rather small, mostly consisting of Destroyers, Frigates, and Coastal Defense vessels. Their primary mission is patrolling the area between the Eastern Indian coastline and the Andaman Islands. Before the event, however, the AIPNR had been in talks with the USSR to purchase older vessels and vessels the USSR no longer needed as part of a Naval Expansion project. No ships had yet been delivered.

Air Force: The Indian Air Force, compared to the Navy and Army, is actually relatively well equipped, and large as well. Built up as part of an Aerospace arms race with Pakistan in the late 1980s, the Air Force is actually mostly made up of Indian-designed aircraft, with a heavy emphasis on Close Air support and Strategic bombing.

History : The AIPNR, or All Indian National People's Republic, was proclaimed on April 22nd, 1969, at a meeting of the All-Indian Coordination Community of Communist Revolutionaries, or AICCCR. Proclaimed by Kanu Sanyal, the AIPNR was rather weak at first, securing only support among downtrodden tribes and a minority of college students, it rapidly gained popularity following the 1971 Indian intervention in the Bengali Independence war. What had started as Guerrilla warfare rapidly blossomed into all-out civil war as Calcutta was pronounced the capital of the revolution. Numerous Disparate factions rose against the central government of New Delhi, however most eventually collapsed into the fold of Kanu Sanyal's AIPNR. The war was bloody, though the Southern half of the subcontinent felt almost none of the fighting, most of it happening around New Delhi, the western border with Pakistan, and the eastern border with Bangladesh. While the AIPNR initially fought for the liberation of Bangladesh from both Pakistan and India, eventually the movement swayed towards integrating the Eastern Bengal delta into India proper.

The Indian Civil War lasted 6 years until the end of the decisive Siege of New Delhi by AIPNR forces. The city, and central government, formally surrendered on March 17th, 1977, capitulating to the AIPNR in exchange for the Revolutionary forces driving out the Pakistanis. Pakistan and the Transitionary Indian government signed a formal ceasefire a week later, although a treaty to end the war was never signed due to disputes over the Janmu-Kashmir area. In the immediate aftermath of the Civil War, India aligned itself closely to both the PROC and USSR, even though it knew that balancing both was not a move that could last, as it concentrated on rebuilding itself and establishing the new AIPNR government as a more permanent institution. The capital of Calcutta was chosen due to its significance to the revolution, while New Delhi was demoted to merely regional capital of Haryana. While the Indo-Sino-Soviet alliance was short lived initially, it served as the groundwork for the Sino-Soviet Reconciliation of 1989, and served to bring the Indian economy back up to pre-civil-war levels much faster than what would've otherwise been possible.

Most of the late 70s and early 80s were spent rebuilding the Indian economy and industrial base from the ground up, as the Communist Party of India reevaluated what the previous Republican government had done, or rather not done, to bring India into the industrial age. The Ganges River Valley was chosen as the country's new industrial heartland as cities along the river were built up, while the more untouched southern portions of the nation were either left alone, or repurposed for mass agriculture. The latter half of the period is also known as when the Bengal Colonization project began, in which Hindi Indians were encouraged to settle in the Bengal Delta, while Muslims were forced to either renounce their faith or be relocated. The rapid Indianization of the delta was considered a success, however the West decried the action, encouraging Pakistan to temporarily break the ceasefire and encroach on Indian Kashmir. The offensive was quickly repelled, however, and status quo was restored, though formal peace still has not been signed.

The late 80s were a time of growth for the industrializing nation, as while the economy had at least recovered since the Civil War, it was still weak compared even to its Communist contemporaries. 1987 saw the execution of a new diversification project, wherein the Indian economy started expanding from just farming equipment to more general vehicle and industrial equipment production, though quality of said new equipment is questionable at best. 1989 saw the reunification of the Communist Bloc as the USSR began feeling a major economic downturn, forcing it to come to the negotiating table with the Maoists of China and India. At the turn of the decade, India initially felt largely the same as the late 80s. However, late 1990 saw a fierce buildup of the Revolutionary Army and Air Force on the Pakistani-Afghani border as India sought to aid in the Soviet Occupation of Afghanistan and put an end to the conflict with Pakistan once and for all. The offensive was scheduled to begin February 12th, 1991. Indian forces would storm across the border into Pakistani-occupied Janmu and Kashmir while simultaneously making an armoured push into the vast deserts of Baluchistan, pincering and surrounding central Pakistan and setting India up to both aid in the occupation of Afghanistan and to strike at the heart of the Pakistani government. However, the morning of February 12th, the Indian offensive would find nothing; no signs of life, no buildings, no roads. The event had occurred...

Flag / National Symbols: The banner of the Commonwealth of Northern Republics is an emblem of one colour consisting of a stylised motif of a swan inscribed in a circle formed of a sickle on its lower hoist side and one-half a gear in its upper fly side laid against a plain background of another colour. The two dominant traditions for colour are blue-white or white-blue more commonly used for civil-national purposes and the yellow-red more commonly used for state or military purposes, with black-white coming a close third, but no colour scheme is formally defined and more exotic colours (including Bergen City Hall's purple-lime that everyone agrees is a nightmarish eyesore) are both perfectly acceptable and can be frequently seen. The insignia of the Commonwealth is the same, except that the background is circular and not rectangular.

Government Type: Norden considers itself a Sambandsríki, often translated as Confederation or Commonwealth. In practice, the country is a liberal republic of sorts.
Official Political Ideology: Norden has no official political ideology, and feels no strong ideological affinity to any foreign state. In practice, Norden is a fiercely nationalistic and communal state.
Head of State: No individual human being is recognised as the head of state of the Northern Commonwealth. The Hyperborean Constitution states that supreme authority is invested in the State and People of the Hyperborean Lands.
Head of Government: In practice, the day-to-day affairs of State are managed by the Lord High Justiciar of the Realm, (Esperanto-B: la Intendanto de Hyperboreo; High Scandinavian: Ríkismaður Norðurlands; Low Scandinavian: Nordens Rigsdrost; Finnish: Valtakunnandrotsi), the office of which is held by "Skogens" Rayner Kastarsson av Trondhjem as of 1631 Nuclear Era.
Government Description: Hyperborea is definitely a republic in practice as well as in theory and it has many features of a liberal state, with the Rights and Liberties of the Citizen being extensively entrenched in the culture of the nation, a sort of independent and very fair if sometimes unforgiving judicial system overseeing a stable rule of law, and a relatively trustworthy society where efficiency is valued and corruption, especially when compared to its neighbours, is at a minimum. Notably, however, this liberalism is largely limited only to Norden's own citizens; the Rights of Liberties of the Citizen is very much of the Citizen and not of Man in general, and slavery in the form of nerve-stapled drones still exists for prisoners of war and other such captured foreigners. Furthermore, because the Hyperborean so-called "State" is a jumbled mess of Councils and Assemblies, Departments and Bureaus, Municipalities and Counties, Syndicates and Labour Divisions, Commissions and Special Districts of all sizes, structures, and varieties, only some of which hold formal public elections, most of which have esoteric rules of succession, and the relationship between which are constantly in flux, it is difficult to say whether Hyperborea is a democracy and, indeed, it is difficult to say anything meaningful about the Northern system of government at all.

Territory: The territory of the Hyperborean Confederation consists of Jutland north of the real-life historical southern border of the Duchy of Schleswig, Fennoscandia east of the real-life pre-1917 eastern border of the Grand Duchy of Finland, the Danish and Baltic islands in between, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Greenland, and all the small subsidiary islands in their respective coastal waters. The concept of "international waters" has long been lost to history, and as such the Hyperborean Confederation also considers the nearby waters to be an integral part of its sovereign territory.
Territorial Ambitions: The Commonwealth has always desired a shorter and more defensible eastern land border, which may be achieved by annexing large parts of what used to be northern Russia and moving the frontier to the Neva and Svir Rivers, and further desires to control the vulnerable supply lines between Iceland and mainland Scandinavia by conquering the Scottish islands. The Commonwealth also claims as its territory almost the entirety of the Baltic, North, Norwegian, and Arctic Seas as well as substantial portions of the North Atlantic.
Capital City: The capital city of the Northern States is Soundstead (Esperanto-B), also called Sundstaðr (High Scandinavian) or Sundstad (Low Scandinavian). It is said that many hundreds of years ago, the districts that today form Soundstead, such as Copenhagen, Lund, or Malmø, were once separate cities of their own right, which over time merged into what is today the largest and most populated city in all of Hyperborea. Unlike many other cities of its size, Soundstead is fairly lightly defended, having only a basic complement of anti-aircraft artillery and no walls at all, and instead relies on its defensible location, with one half being on an island and the other half being separated from the Old Continent by sea, to defend itself.
Population: According to the Great Census of 1630, the total population of the Northern States is 25.45 million residents, of which perhaps two-thirds are citizens, one-twelfth are free alien, and one-quarter nerve-stapled drones. By Republic, this breaks down to 7.68 millions in Denmark, 7.31 millions in Sweden, 5.46 millions in Finland, and 5.00 millions in Norway. The population density roughly follows latitude, being highest in the southernmost regions where the largest cities are located and thinning out further towards the north.

Majority/Official Culture: According to the Great Census of 1630, Low Scandinavian (39.8%, among citizens) is the most widely spoken language of the Confederation of Hyperborean Republics, but the primary language used in governance, administration, high finance, and diplomacy is High Scandinavian (19.9%). Finnish (19.7%) and Esperanto-B (14.3%) are also officially recognised and all State institutions are required to accommodate speakers of these languages everywhere in the Confederation. Karelian (2.5%), Pan-Saxian (2.1%), Sami (0.4%), and Thulean (0.3%) hold some degree of local or regional recognition, but are not nationally recognised. Smaller minority languages exist, but they are not recognised. Free aliens in the Confederation speak mostly Albionic Celtic, Kalevan, or South Baltic if they have not yet been integrated into one of Hyperborea's own cultures, although since the Census does not ask for the primary language of non-citizens it's hard to know exactly what proportion of free aliens speak each of these languages. Nerve-stapled drones have no free thought and thus no culture, and are trained to speak whatever Northern language is convenient to the citizens around them.

Majority/State Religion: The Northern Commonwealth does not recognise an official State religion. The dominant majority of Hyperboreans are either nonreligious or follow some kind of local polytheistic or animistic folk faith, but organised religion is not completely absent from the country: the Nobelian Church has a considerable following primarily in the major cities.

Major Industries / Economic sectors: Norden's economy is diverse and it's difficult to point out any particularly significant industries, but compared to its neighbouring states Norden does have an unusually large resource extraction industry due to its somewhat extensive territory as well as its surrounding oceans giving it a far larger area to exploit than other countries of comparable strength and stature.

Economic Description: The economy of the Northern Commonwealth could perhaps be called state-capitalistic, although given the convoluted and devolutionary nature of Northern governance it is often difficult to say where State institutions stop and the private economy begins. Like any other country large enough to do so, Norden runs its economy largely as an autarky, with very little in the way of foreign trade and most of that being natural resources or luxuries. As a result, the country is significantly poorer than its very high level of infrastructural and capital development might suggest. Economic thought in the country is primarily nationalistic, with the idea that the productivity of a country's citizens ought to, above all else, support the strength of the nation against foreign aggression. Surprisingly, this thought does lead to a fairly egalitarian economy with solid investments into public health and education with the idea that a free, healthy, and intelligent citizen is a more capable soldier than a peasant.

Technological Level: With regards information and communications technology, Hyperborea and its predecessor states have made very slow progress since the dawn of history, with desktop computing and a primitive intranet - so far only connecting government, military, and educational institutions being connected - being the height of technology in this regard. The same goes for energy, with Hyperborea being largely dependent on hydrocarbons scraped from the seafloor to sustain its burgeoning economy. In terms of biotechnology, robotics, and materials science, however, the country has advanced significantly even during recorded history, with innovations such as gene therapy, nano-plasteel, and cybernetic implants being commonplace and even more futuristic advances starting to materialise on the drawing boards of engineers. (So basically, 1980s information technology, post-modern-tech energy technology, and everything else is future-tech.)

Military Description

Army: Unlike many other armies of its time and its world, the Northern Army has only a very small force of armour, and even that's mostly light armour at that. Rather, the country relies on its Hunters (Esperanto-B: Ĉasisto; Low Scandinavian: Jæger), heavy infantry armed with bolt rifles and clad in power armour, as its elite shock assault force, backed by artillery support and a far larger force of light infantry holding needleguns and protected by blunt jackets. The Northern Army, like the other two branches of service in the Northern Armed Forces, is a force that definitely prioritises quality over quantity, and has an apparently small force that can punch far above its weight. The Army fields 15 Hunter Corps, each 3,000 troops, and 20 Infantry Divisions, each 12,000 troops, for a total paper strength of 285,000. This is supported by a reservist National Guard of about 80,000~100,000 personnel.

Navy: The Navy consists primarily of three components: its Strike Fleets, mostly a force of battleships and heavy cruisers supported by destroyers, its Rapid Response Squadrons, which consists of one light cruiser with a screen of destroyers and submarine support, and its Coast Guard, which consists mostly of corvettes and patrol boats and is mostly engaged in coastal defence as well as nonmilitary search and rescue work. There are four Strike Fleets, the Baltic, North Sea, Norwegian Sea, and Arctic Fleets, and a couple dozen Rapid Response Squadrons in the Navy. The Navy does not field carriers and prioritises surface ships over submarines, making it a tool of crushing victory in the immediate waters surrounding the Commonwealth's territory, as opposed to being a tool of force projection or skirmishes. All in all the maritime forces of the Northern Armed Forces employees a nominal 94,000 personnel.

Air Force: The Northern Air Force are organised into Air Divisions, each of which contains on paper a total of 200 aircraft, or ten squadrons of 20. In reality squadrons are rarely precisely 20 aircraft and Air Divisions that have a couple fewer or more squadrons than the organisational chart states are not uncommon. There are Fighter Air Divisions, which consists of fighter-interceptors, ground support, and tactical bombers, Bomber Air Divisions, which consists of tactical bombers, strategic bombers, and heavy fighters, and Naval Air Divisions, which consists of fighter-interceptors and naval bombers. All in all the Air Force fields five Fighter Air Divisions, three Bomber Air Divisions, and two Naval Air Divisions, for a total theoretical force of 2,000 aircraft and 60,000 personnel.

National Goals: Alt for Norden! The Hyperborean Confederacy desires two things. First, to defend itself from foreign aggression, to protect its liberties and unique way of life from the threat posed by overseas perfidy and totalitarianism, and to defend the lives, prosperity, and happiness of its citizens. Second, to aggress against foreign defence, to subjugate and enslave foreign populations for the glory of Norden, to build a sphere of influence around itself, and to hear the name of its great citizens whispered in awe and fear alike in all corners of the world!

History: One day, the First Men of Earth detonated a nuclear explosive in a legendary, now long-lost temple named Trinity, thus ending the Age of Barbarism and beginning both history and civilisation. This is today considered to be Year 1 of the Standard Calendar. Not much is known about this earliest period of history, the records mostly being lost in the centuries since, but it is known that the Three Atomic Superpowers rapidly expanded across the surface of the Earth, conquering primitive barbarians who did not know the arts of nuclear fire. Certainly by 250 N.E., and in all probability earlier, the Earth was perfectly partitioned between the Three Atomic Superpowers, each of them too large to be conquered by the other two, locked in endless conflict with each other. The stalemate could only be broken by the cleansing fire of nuclear war, which finally purged the Earth of the endless war, the Three Atomic Superpowers who fought in it, and the vile Threeist faiths they served at 476 N.E.

The tribes that would one day go on to establish the Commonwealth of Hyperborean Republics emerged from the shattered ruins of what used to be the northern half of the North Atlantic Special Administrative Region, a province of the Atomic Superpower of Eurasia. The period immediately following the fall of the Three Atomic Superpowers is characterised by mass illiteracy, constant tribal struggle, and poor recordskeeping, so the historical record is neither clear nor precise, but strong hatred of indeterminate origin between the Prolen tribes, speaking High or Low Scandinavian, and the Parti tribes, speaking Esperanto-B, emerged, ending only when the Prolen fully subjugated the Parti and established their kingdoms across Scandinavia.

Stanislav II of the Iron Justicarium (today more commonly known as Stas the Conquerer) conquered Finland throughout the 790s and soon forced the Scandinavian kingdoms into tributary status, under threat of razing the region's cities and enslaving all of its inhabitants to be worked in the reclamation of the Central Asian deserts, and over the following decades they came to be more and more integrated into the Justicarium. The forced assimilation policies of Karin the Petran and Stanislav IV (i.e. Stas the Butcher), as well as the reign of terror of the latter, outraged Finn, Scandinavian, and Esperanto-speaker alike and lit the fires of unrest across the entire province, which not even the retributions of Stas the Butcher and subsequent Justiciars could suppress.

Eventually, the decadence of the Iron Justicarium's ruling dynasty caught up to it and, during the First Great European War of the 10th Century led to the widespread perception of the Justicarium's weakness, leading Soundstead's burghers to declare independence from the Iron Justicarium in 924 N.E. and the declaration was rapidly adopted by many prominent local merchants and industrialists across Scandinavia. After a hard fought war, which spluttered out rather than being concluded by a proper peace treaty but is nonetheless considered to have ended with the decisive Scandinavia victory in the naval Gulf of Riga skirmishes in 927. The slow decline of the Justicarium and its eventual collapse in the centuries after prompted the expansion of the Hyperborean State into Finland, even as the new country fought multiple low-intensity and ultimately indecisive wars against the Albionic kingdoms, Saxia, and the petty merchant republics of the Baltic Coast.

The necessity of raising popular support for these wars fought against much more powerful enemies, and the concession made to the mercantile and plebian classes by the royalty over these centuries, slowly but surely decentralised the Hyperborean State and is the origin of the byzantine system of governance that the Commonwealth has today. Eventually, the Pornographic Crisis of 1397 (about which the less said, the better) forced the abdication of the monarchy and the establishment of the modern Hyperborean Confederation.

Although the Hyperborean Confederation remained, as with the State that preceded it, locked in on-and-off conflict with enemies on all sides and these enemies continued to be far more populated and industrialised than the Hyperborean Confederation, the power and influence of the artisan, mercantile, and intellectual classes in the Northern Republics, which was far greater than those of their counterparts in the Commonwealth's neighbours, led to the Commonwealth's military holding a decisive technological and organisational advantage over its enemies. By 1631, when the Great Transition occurred, the country had already built for itself a sizable sphere of influence for itself across the Baltic Coast... and now, in this new world, it has every intention of replicating that feat. Or trying, at least.
