In wars with other tribes, the Khadagan won superiority of the Eastern Khalkhas and pushed the Oirats into the West. Continuing in their conquests, the Khadagan conquered Karakorum from the Oirats in the 16th Century, and forced the Oirats to submit. After this point, the Khanate growth would slow. In the years following the submission of the Oirats, the Khadagan began to absorb the Kirghiz steppes people of the Kazakh and Nogai. Tibet would follow after a Khadagan Khan began to patronize the Tibetan Buddhists, absorbed as a protectorate of the Khadagan. Government Description : The country is divided into seven different States, each managed by a Governor or equivalent title. Each governor appoints a local cabinet to assist in managing the state, and must have 2 out of 10 positions be democratically elected by a weighted nobility vote. While nominally a federalist and decentralized system, it often devolves into either a dictatorial Grand Vizier that's overthrown by a coalition of rebellious governors or a weak centralized state under an often drugged up and drunken Sultan and Grand Vizier that enables the local governors to pursue the real political and foreign policy goals of the country, often competing agaisnt one another.

The closest thing the government has to a national parliament is the Congress of the Sublime Porte. Each of the 3 States, 1 Special Autonomous Region, one Home Colony and two Religious Coastline Sections elect 350 representatives, with another 350 being chosen by the governor and leaders, with approval from the Central Committee.

The Central Committee is comprised of fifteen members, five from the Imperial Army, five from top members of the Islamic Faith and five from the Imperial palace/ representatives of the Sultan or members of his harem. A simple 8-7 Majority is needed to pass many aspects of legislation, with the Central Committee also having the final say in legislation passed by the Congress of the Sublime Porte. The Grand Vizer automatically chairs this position as a "representative on behalf of the Sultan".

The Ottoman Empire is in the possession of vast oil reserves within Mesopotamia and under the dunes and sandy wasteland of the southern portion of the Empire in Arabia. Factories lick the skies of Istanbul and Damascus, churning out automobiles, fridges and trains. Of no small concern are the large and sprawling railways that link Mecca to Judea and Judea to Istanbul, able to have people conduct the yearly hajj and pilgrimage to mecca with only a 30% chance of being robbed or beaten to death.
White gold, otherwise known as cotton, is also a main cash crop for the Ottomans, with at least 8% of all arable and farm able land being devoted to growing cotton for export to Ottoman Factories or to flow into the port cities of Galipoli, Pyongyang (what we named Kuwait) and Paris (what we renamed a port in Lebanon).
Amount of Industrialization : (General description of how industrialized your nation is)
Industrialization of the Ottomans are primarily concentrated along the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, with large amounts of dams being constructed to provide hydroelectric power for many of the citizens and residents of Istanbul and Baghdad. Mining centers within Turkey and Transjordan also provide sources of income for the state in terms of precious metals to sell to the Austro-Hungarians.
Economic Description :
The Ottoman economy is driven by massive government run corporations, such as Otto-Rail and Arabco Petroleum Products, LLC. These corporations begrudgingly play nice with one another, despite their major workforce are opposites with opposing companies, such as Otto-Rail being managed at the local level by moralistic Mormons and has prostitution laden ceos in the form of a handful of imams for the Middle East.
While the government is the supposed 'victim' of a yet to materialize "Jewish conspiracy" by those pulling the levers of power, those that spread the rumors are ironically anti-semetic Jews. These are known as shrewd politicians and businessmen, a dying breed of stubborn, ultra-orthodox Jews that also want to see the Jews (mostly their business rivals and competitors) exterminated in the second coming of Christ.

Technological Level : Very early 1960s, but with more racism.
Magic and other shenanigans? (If any exists) : A little. Mostly slight of hand magicians who can momentarily levitate chairs and apples, and are restricted with levitating chairs and apples for at most thirty seconds to impress their friends.

Military Description

Army:
The Imperial Army is, at least on paper, a 50 infantry division strong army, descended from the mighty Janissaries that broke the crusading states and conquered Constantinople from the dying yet still fierce Byzantine Empire. The Armored forces, or what remained of the Armored Divisions following the "Purge of '69", have been concentrated in fifteen heavily equipped and overburdened armored divisions. These have been nicknamed "Sultan's Fist" and have yet to see their worth, besides crushing whatever shit happens when the Isreali's get pissed off.

However, owing to the massive material losses during World Wars I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII and IX, there came a need for an emergency source of manpower to be located. This came in the forum of Infidel Infantry. The crippled, lame, poor, tired and huddled masses of the ottoman empire were corralled gently by sub machine gun fire and with only a few deaths to be officially declared part of the Infidel Infantry. This has enabled a vast lower militia to be on standby in the event of an invasion. While nominally intermingled with the "reserve" personnel, the I.I. has a completely different command structure and tactical layout compared to a normal Ottoman Division.

The equipment of such units varies from platoon to platoon, though a rough order of uniform and clear weaponry for older people ( such as a bolt action rifle that resembles a walking cane and dentures that double as grenades), the production still lags behind, and it remains to be seen if the supply lines would manage an additional two million military personnel.

The Ottoman Air force loves canyons, nooks and crannies to store, produce and hide away aircraft in. This comes as experiences of leaving planes neatly lined up on the ground tend to make for good target practice for enemy bombers.

History :
After the stinging defeat at Lepanto by the alliance of christan states, the Ottoman Grand Vizer at the time, Sokollu Mehmed Pasha, declared that the Holy League had “simply shaved the beard of the Ottomans.” While it had been true that the Ottoman Navy was hastily rebuilt in a short period of time with hundreds of galleys, the shock to Ottoman Prestige from such a defeat never really left the Sultans. The Sultans and the class of Janissaries following the defeat grew closer to one another ,much to the ire of the local nobility and the commoner. Still, the system continued for a solid two hundred years after. However, it reached a boiling point with the Ottoman Revolution, otherwise known as the Turkish Clusterfuck by stoned historians.

The quickest way to summarize this chaotic and complex era is thus:
The Russo-Ottoman War of 1780-83 comes to a humiliating end. While no territory was exchanged and the borders were left in a state of status quo ante bellum, the war displayed the incompetence of the Ottomans, and their vulnerable state. Disillusioned soldiers waltzed into Istanbul drunk and demanding bread. Local crowds joined them and the situation escalated into a full scale riot. Sultan Mufasta IV commands forces under Pasha Mufasta Abdullah Sefiz to quell the uprising. Sefiz quells the uprising then overthrows the Sultan, declaring himself Sultan.

On January 14, 1784, Mufasta IV is imprisoned and Sefiz declares the Committee of Fucking Death, with himself as President of the Sublime Porte and Committee of Fucking Death. With power concentrated in the hands of the radicals of court, revolutionary changes were declared. Women were given more rights, slavery was officaly abolished and western education was introduced. Oh and people who opposed such changes were defenestrated, starting with the Sultan and many of his cronies.

The people are rightly pissed off with starving and being thrown out of windows for opposing. These people opt to form the First Congress of the Sublime Porte as an opposition government. The two sides exchange in violent fire fights as the entire empire seems to be on the verge of imploding. The First Congress then opts to attempt to calm things down with the Committee of Fucking Death, meeting with Sefiz on April 1, 1786. The meeting goes down like this:
COFD: “Hello, you want to have peace, we can reluctantly agree to such a matter, I mean the Austrians just declared war on us.”
1st CON: “Great, we also want peace and are totally not going to betray you, now will you just admire the view from up here on the second floor?”
COFD: “Sure but what’s so great-”
*1ST CON fucking Defenestrates the COFD chairman*

Now with the lack of leadership with the Committee of Fucking Death and an inability to elect or appoint a new chairman, the Committee opts to cannibalize itself with a call of “religous and revolutionary genocidal suicide”. This begins several bloody nights of mass muder and violence throughout Istanbul, with the death toll being as high as 130,000 killed and 160,000 suicides. By May of 1786, the political influence of the COFD was diminished to small violent cults and gentlemen’s clubs. With the impotence and neutering of the Committee, this enables the Congress of the Sublime Porte to begin governing, with Wilhelmina Saffiz Cleopatra, a former egyptian slave and military leader, declaring herself President of the Congress. She soon has to deal with war with both the Austrians and the Russians. She appoints Jalmark Fuslar as commander of the Ottoman Army, who proves an effective military commander, handing the Austrians military defeats and blunting a Russian offensive into northeastern turkey.

Fuslar proves so good at his job that on a visit to Istanbul, he overthrows Cleopatra and declares himself Sultan of the Ottoman Empire.

John Paul Jones still joins the russian navy agaisnt the turks, but ends up captured, tortured, then convinced to convert to islam and become sultan and the head of a family dynasty."

The Ottoman Empire contracts from most of it’s conquered lands, and Jalmark Fuslar agrees to eventually abdicate the throne in favor of american revolutionary hero John Paul Jones two years later.

Reign of John Paul Jones sees spirited defense against increasing russian encroachment in the caucasus and black sea. Russo-Turkish War of 1817 sees a bloody defeat of russia which relents to the eventual status quo ante bellum when peace is signed in 1819. Industrialization and the construction of railroads increases under the Ottomans, and a “declaration of the rights of the jewish people” was tentatively signed by Sultan Jones I upon his abdication in favor of his son in 1828. It establishes, among other things:
The general principle of a state for the jews, on the condition of unwavering support for the Jones dynasty.
The preliminary border of the Levant and the disbandment of the office of Inspector-Governor of Greater David, along with the execution of corrupt officials via smitten by god.
The general agreement for a state for the muslims to be concentrated in the south of the country.

Sultan Jones II follows through with exactly none of these requests for either the jews or the muslims, and thoroughly pisses off both religious groups, who lead the now 89 year old Jalmark Fuslar back to the position of Sultan during the “Asshole Revolution” named because supporters of Fuslar showed their butts to Sultan Jones prior to his exile. Jalmark Fuslar then gingerly rules from 1830 until his death three months later. The proponents of Sultan Jones II now march their forces back and overthrow the Fuslar dynasty on November 3, 1830. The Jones and Fuslar dynasties both continue to murder the shit out of each other for the next seventy years.

While both political dynasties vied for power over the sublime porte, foreign powers were anxious to begin to slice away and take advantage of the chaotic power struggles within the Ottoman Empire. In 1853 an incident involving an Islamic merchant and a british officer in Palestine prompted aggressive gunboat diplomacy towards the purported "fucking sick man of Europe". More instances of such effects occurred, with the most egregious being the loss of Egypt by the Spanish Caliphate in 1860.

Furious at the loss of a prime source of cotton, the Ottoman Empire entertained Confederate diplomats in promises to "steal" Spanish Cotton and deliver it back in exchange for gunpowder and other war material the Confederacy desperately needed in their struggle agaisnt the Holy Roman Empire. When the Confederacy finally won it's independence in 1867, the Ottomans had their trading partner willing to overturn the trans-Atlantic slave trade and open up a trans-Mediterranean slave trade.

Ethnic tensions within that powder keg of the Balkans reached a fever pitch in 1870, with the start of the Balkan Wars of Independence (1870-1876) Although it would have been easier to just abdicate, the loss of face and international prestige (at least what was left for being the butt of europe's jokes for half a century) for the Ottoman Sultan Jalmark Fuslar III would have been too much. So instead, he fought, and lost 175,000 of his own men and had another 300,000 dead greek, serbian, herzogvian, bulgarian and romanian enthnicities heaped onto the pile of the united front agaisnt the ottomans formed.

The Balkans freed from Ottoman grasp with the intervention of europeans, The Ottomans opted to press forwards with large reforms from 1880 to 1900. These included the only real period of modernization with regards to communication, with the construction of telegraph wires all throughout the country. The main railroads were expanded across the empire. However, these reforms, combined with a corrupt and bloated civil service, bankrupted the nation. Forcing the country on more foreign debt, Sultan Fuslar III became increasingly unpopular in the late 1890s.

A group of men fed up with the direction Fuslar was taking the country, organized and executed a coup, along with the Sultan. These men soon installed an american. Growing up in the former confederacy, John Sharp Williams spoke his Arabic with a heavy southern accent and a hoarse voice. Williams was officially sword girded as Sultan Sharp on January 2, 1901. Williams was a fervent nationalist only when it came to war, and mostly delegated responsibilities to the local governors. During his reign, he opted to officially segregate the Jews in a new homeland called Canaan. The Muslims in the area were granted a large state within the Arabic Deseret, and forbid the transfer of such peoples from either place. He adopted a "Water or Window" approach to ruling. If you behaved within the Ottoman Empire, you would be thrown water. If not, then you would be picked up and thrown out the nearest window.

He organized a secret police in 1904, called the Knights of the Kingdom of Kolob. The irony of the KKK acronym was seemingly lost on Williams. He allocated the powers towards the local state governments to execute the few Africans within the Ottoman Empire. Events in russia with the establishment of the People's Monarchy in the Russian Empire alarmed Williams greatly, and organized, or at least became the figurehead of anti-nicholas monarcho-communist resistance. He gave funds and firearms to various left-wing SRs, right-wing paramilitaries, anarchist groups, ultra-royalist factions and democratic republicans pushing for a constitution. The Ottoman Empire soon became dragged into the Russian Revolution and subsequent Civil War in 1907.

By 1912, the effort by the diverse coalition of "white" groups proved no match for the military generals on the "royal reds'" side. Sultan Williams could just watch helplessly by as the white forces fell to bitter infighting and disastrous campaigns against one another. Sultan Williams had made a fatal misjudgment in his foreign policy in regards to Russia, and had the treasury and the lives of 400,000 Ottoman soldiers bled dry because of it. Although he was able to evade assassination and usurpation attempts throughout 1912 to 1918, in 1919 a military coup did the old mississippian muslim in.

In It's place was Sultan Fuslar IV, who reigned with a dictatorial fist that convinced the military elite to put Williams back on the throne by 1920. Williams refused the crown again, instead ruling as Chairman of the Second Committee of Fucking Death, with the same "water or window" approach to governance. The Committee would rule the nation with alternate chairman of both Hellen Keller and Sultanzade from 1920 to 1932, Sabahaddin being thrown in for token representation of different groups (such as a turk and a woman) every few months. The 2nd COFD's failure was with the death of Williams in 1932 and the bitter infighting that Sabahaddin had with a deaf woman.

With the power vacuum, the political orbits of both the John Paul Jones and Jalmark Fuslar dynasties soon collided, with Sultan Jones IV being first to claim the title of Sultan in 1933 following street to street combat with Sabahaddin and Keller supporters. Sultan Jones IV was a huge backer of the national socialist regime in Austria-Hungary under Conrad von Hötzendorf, who opted to smooth relations with their shared hatred of the People's Czar. These included technology deals and the construction and selling of old pre-dreadnoughts to the Ottoman Empire, who appreciated the offer by not paying for the ships. Sultan Jones IV soon ramps up military production and rhetoric against the People's Empire of Russia.

Such rhetoric was not to go unannounced by People's Tsar Nicholas, who opts to take the initiative in an attack on the Ottoman Naval Base on January 15, 1940. With the sinking of four of the five battleships of the Imperial Black Sea Fleet, the Ottomans suffered defeats in the Black Sea, and held back to fortifications along the Dardanelles. Now unopposed in their control of the black sea, the Russians land troops. In desperation, the Sultan sends for military equipment from Austria-Hungary in 1943, these included the preliminary batches of Tiger-I tanks that would become the nucleus of Ottoman Armored Forces.
Russian Nicholas-II Tanks soon squared off against Ottoman Tiger-Is and Pasha-Panthers in large armored engagements outside of the city of Vans within September of 1944.

While the Soviets were forced back into the Sea in January of 1945, People's Tsar Nicholas II soon suffered a disastrous stroke, paralyzing the man and leaving an international interregnum to govern the country. Franklin Dzugasvili Romanov declares himself "chairman of the council of the princely proletariat" and defiantly refuses to surrender the country. The Ottoman-Austro Hungarian and Gaulish coalition continues to slowly march across the bitterly defended Russia, capturing Hueylongrad (Stalingrad) on September 12, 1945. Sultan John Paul Jones IV, however, would not live to see victory, suffering kidney failure following a massive night of drinking and being stabbed in the kidney by a hobo on December 14, 1945. Strict wartime censorship made this fact held from the public, with a small sword-girding taking place for the new
18 year old monarch, Sultan Jalmark Fuslar, officaly titled as Fuslar IV.

On January 7, 1946, FDR suffers a massive internal hemorrhage and bleeds to death. Bibi-Benjamin "Pitchfork Ben" Netenyahu takes up the mantel of chairman and reluctantly agrees to capitulate in August. A reluctant status-quo-ante-bellum peace in the Treaty of Wilhelmina (named after talented Ottoman Foreign Minister Christina Wilhelmina Packard, the mother of the current President of the Presidium Wilhelmina Packard) is tentatively declared.

Now the country was to be rebuild by the impressionable and young monarch. Boosted with military praise and met with mistrust by the nobility, Fuslar IV proves to be a steady handed man. Throughout his reign he has played a balancing act with the military, slave tycoonists, members of Congress, power hungry and rebellious local governors, members of the Imperial nobility, his local all male harem's influences and the desires and political ambitions of Wilhelmina Packard, who has proven to be a bitter inter party rival for overall control. On January 1st, 1980 preparations are underway for a new year party, and Fuslar is now a 52 year old grizzled political veteran. He has to deal with foreign problems such as the encroaching influence of the french on Cyprus and reluctantly back the incompetent buffoons that managed the Italian Mafian Republic under the venerated and veritably insane Vito Antonio Scalleta.

That January 1st would see the sky light up, and the Ottoman Empire will never be the same...

Government Description : The country is divided into seven different States, each managed by a Governor or equivalent title. Each governor appoints a local cabinet to assist in managing the state, and must have 2 out of 10 positions be democratically elected by a weighted nobility vote. While nominally a federalist and decentralized system, it often devolves into either a dictatorial Grand Vizier that's overthrown by a coalition of rebellious governors or a weak centralized state under an often drugged up and drunken Sultan and Grand Vizier that enables the local governors to pursue the real political and foreign policy goals of the country, often competing agaisnt one another.

The closest thing the government has to a national parliament is the Congress of the Sublime Porte. Each of the 3 States, 1 Special Autonomous Region, one Home Colony and two Religious Coastline Sections elect 350 representatives, with another 350 being chosen by the governor and leaders, with approval from the Central Committee.

The Central Committee is comprised of fifteen members, five from the Imperial Army, five from top members of the Islamic Faith and five from the Imperial palace/ representatives of the Sultan or members of his harem. A simple 8-7 Majority is needed to pass many aspects of legislation, with the Central Committee also having the final say in legislation passed by the Congress of the Sublime Porte. The Grand Vizer automatically chairs this position as a "representative on behalf of the Sultan".

Arms Manufacturing - In the late 21st and early 22nd century, rising sea levels completely crippled the arms industry in Europe with entire factories being forced to shut down due to the rising waters. As a result, many arms manufacturers- including those present in the coastal United States, moved to the relatively spacious continent of Australia to establish new manufacturing lines there. At present, the Oceania Administrative Zone is the United Nations' second largest arms manufacturer, second only to the East Asian Free Trade Zone.

Research and Development - New Zealand, after erecting a massive coastal barrier against the rising sea levels, heavily invested in Research and Development. As China was heavily devastated by the rising waters, with entire cities being wiped out by the floods, New Zealand instituted a refugee program that prioritized skilled immigrants that specializes in R&D. As a result, a burgeoning R&D sector was established in the island. After the United Nations absorbed the country, the UN established the UN R&D Division headquarters in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Navy Shipbuilding - As South Korea's multinational shipbuilding companies were struggling with the increasing water levels, they decided to move their production lines to Australia. After the United Nations absorbed all nation-states into one unified world government, the United Nations designated Australia as one of its internal defense manufacturers- designed to develop state-of-the-art navy warships in order to counter any possible revolutionary movements or holdouts (the Afghan state for example) that resist United Nations rule.

Mining - As Earth's resources were being dedicated to build space-faring ships to colonize Mars and beyond, the UN decided to grant mining companies permission to mine in Australia for the first time after UN environmental decrees temporarily halted all environmentally damaging activities on Earth as a result of climate change. Currently, all mining corporations are heavily regulated by the UN Environmental Czar and advancements in mining currently minimize environmental impact.

Spaceship Building Industry- Although most of the shipbuilding is done in orbit or in Luna, the United Nations has three backup facilities on Earth- one of which is located in Adelaide. Despite being much smaller-scale than the Bush shipyard in Luna, it is capable of producing Epstein drives and smaller naval frigates such as the Leonidas-class battleship.

Healthcare Industry - In the 21st century, a pandemic crippled the world and its economy. New Zealand emerged as one of the world's most competent government that dealt with the pandemic. To ensure that there will be no repeat, New Zealand allocated immense funds and investments on healthcare technology and advancements. In the 22nd century, when the United Nations formally formed into a unified world government, the United Nations' World Health Organization, moved to dedicate resources to the healthcare industry in New Zealand. In a span of a few decades, the Oceania Free Trade Zone had the world's' most advanced medical care and facilities and was the center of medical research.

Amount of Industrialization : Heavily industrialized. Two centuries of heavy industrialization were the result of migrating corporations and industries fleeing from the rising sea levels. Oceania has production facilities that were originally designed to mitigate the United Nations' over-reliance on orbital and Lunar industrial facilities.

It is frequent to hear about private corporations and state-run companies engaging in friendly competition. There are different state regulating bodies that oversee each sector. The United Nations, specifically the Oceania Administrative Zone, specializes in industry and technological development. UNMC personnel are stationed on Earth and on UNN ships and stations. The United Nations Marine Corps is considered as the largest ground force military in the Solar System, capable of fielding at least a hundred million troops on the battlefield- which heavily outnumbered their Martian MMC counterparts.

The Oceania Administrative Zone was considered by the UN as a relatively peaceful zone and thus had lesser concentration of UNMC personnel compared to the heavily populated East Asia Free Trade Zone and the politically-unstable Central Asian Free Trade Zone. History : In the mid 21st century, Earth was undergoing drastic change. The effects caused by global warming and climate change manifested itself in the flooding and sinking of entire megacities all across the world. This event led to the collapse of several world governments and the deaths of millions of people. As a result, the United Nations as an institution moved to consolidate its power to curb the bureaucratic web of individual nation-states that are ineffective in dealing with the crisis. Eventually, the world's major powers- the United States, Russia, China, Japan, India, the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil and South Africa all ceded their sovereignty to the United Nations and established a new world order encompassing the entire world. Shortly after this, massive projects were undertaken to reclaim the sunken cities by constructing large seawalls using the latest technological and engineering advancements available to mankind. Not all nations were comfortable with ceding their independence to the UN however and challenged the United Nations in war. Several rouge nations attempted to resist the encroaching United Nations but were swiftly dealt with because of the sheer amount of manpower and technological superiority of the United Nations.

In the mid-21st century, individual nation-states launched the first colonists to Mars in an attempt to establish a second-lifeline for humanity amid a failing Earth. Three generations later, the Martian colonies were now under the control of the United Nations as a UN colony. In the mid-22nd century, the UN and the Martian colonial government and people were having strained relations after a series of economic policies threatened to collapse the Martian economy. This continued on for some time, with tensions at all time high. The balance of power however dramatically shifted when a Martian engineer named Solomon Epstein invented the Epstein drive and gave Mars an advantage. In exchange for the blueprints of the Epstein drive, the United Nations will give Mars full independence and in doing so, the Martian Congressional Republic was born.

For the next 100 years, using the developments and upgrades of the Epstein drive, the UN and Mars would go on a race to colonize the asteroid belt. Eventually, the United Nations and Mars would divide the belt into blue and red zones and would occasionally cooperate with one another. However, a cold-war level of tension permeates the entire solar system and skirmishes between the UN and MCR are happening occasionally. This conflict has put the belter colonists unto a disadvantage, inciting hatred and disdain for both the UN and the MCR from the belt.
