The V O I D wrote:Full Nation Name: The Chinese Union-Imperial
Short Nation Name: The CUI/China
Flag / National Symbols: A red flag with the Qing dragon around a Republic of China flag style sun.
Government Type: Constitutional Monarchy (de jure); Totalitarian Dictatorship (de facto).
Official Political Ideology: Capitalism/Imperialism.
Head of State: The Royal Family (de jure); Shen Yu and One of the Yangban (de facto).
Head of Government: Unclear, but likely a member of the Royal Family by law, yet technically influenced or controlled by the Yangban.
Government Description: The Chinese Union-Imperial is the successor state to the People's Republic of China. Officially, the CUI is a democratic state with a constitutional monarchy and various systems in place; but the reality of the situation is that the Royal Family and the Yangban influence or control every aspect of Chinese society, with the help of the Imperial Military.
Territory: Whatever's left of China.
Territorial Ambitions: Reclaim ALL of China.
Capital City: Hong Kong, temporarily. Beijing, if reclaimed.
Population: Approx. 200 million.
Majority/Official Culture: Chinese.
Majority/State Religion: None.
Major Industries / Economic sectors: The CUI specializes in military and technological advancement.
Amount of Industrialization: Extremely industrialized.
Economic Description: The CUI has a capitalist market, but the all moneys and economic aspects must benefit China itself; and some things are restricted.
Technological Level: Minor PMT.
Magic and other shenanigans?: The Yangban exists; it is formed of parahuman members of the CUI's military. China's laws with regards to parahumans are structured such that those who do not serve in the Yangban are set up to lose and thus eventually be inducted into the Yangban, one way or another.
Military Description
Army: 500 thousand soldiers armed with various amounts of reverse-engineered tinkertech among other things.
Navy: A small fleet of ships all armed with tinkertech armaments/defenses.
Air Force: Specialized aircraft derived from tinkertech inspiration for fast or stealthy transportation of soldiers or for bombing raids.
The Yangban: The Yangban is the CUI military's parahuman division and is technically structured to be both command and support for the military, and has large controls over both Chinese society and military. Most of their membership is Chinese, though there are a number of parahumans that were trafficked into China through their overseas operations/allies or kidnapped outright due to their potential usefulness for the CUI's goals. The Yangban's training regimens means that they are able to operate in small or large squads alongside soldiers, and do so with efficiency and maneuverability. Listed below are their known members and a brief description of their abilities, with members that don't have known abilities removed/redacted (or members who aren't known not mentioned):Shen Yu: the Yangban's primary strategist, and a Thinker whose power allows him to see incoming attacks through a form of pseudo-clairvoyance in theaters of conflict. This ability also lends him beyond expert level capabilities and talent with tactical knowledge, especially in regards to dealing with large-scale groups of combatants. With this ability, he effectively is able to view and predict battles before they happen, allowing him to order the Yangban and CUI military in advanced preparation for a counterattack if necessary and making him vital to the CUI military's function. Never sent to the frontlines due to vitality.
Null/Zero: Null, sometimes referred to as Zero, has the ability to share powers among members of the Yangban, except for his own. Limited to Cluster-sized (e.g. six or seven, no more) squads. He can also retract powers from people as punishment if they are under his influence, and is able to do so from any distance as long as he is informed he needs to. Never sent into battle due to vitality.
One: A thinker specializing in brainwashing capabilities, One oversees the Yangban and its social/battle cohesion. One is also implied to be partially responsible for the propaganda of the CUI, hence its ease of replacement of the PRC among other things. One, himself, is technically not brainwashed and is presumably closely tied with Shen Yu as one of the core leader members of the Yangban who report to the Royal Family. Not sent to the frontlines due to vitality.
Two: Two can magnify the strength of powers that others have; in cooperation with Null, if Two's power is distributed among squads, it has a recursive effect where Two's power magnifies itself, magnifying itself over and over along with other powers the squad has until they are effectively returned to full strength of the original owners' capability. Not sent to the frontlines due to vitality, but is frequently used by Null to create Yangban attack/defense squads.
Four: A shallow flight; five to ten feet off the 'ground' (any surface below them), at fifty to sixty miles per hour in any direction. Able to be dispatched as a squad member.
Nine: Short-ranged electromagnetic abilities useful for increasing speed along metallic surfaces; using this ability in combination with flight, they can 'fly' even faster by launching themselves forward. Frontliner.
Thirteen: Some type of forcefield capabilities. Frontliner.
Fourteen: Vacuum generation. Frontliner.
Twenty-Three: A danger sense of some form.
Thirty-One: Powerful lasers that can cut through most materials.
Thirty-Two: Nullification waves that cool warm things, warm cold things; it silenced/stilled things, negated/committed to the opposite to reach equilibrium. Frontliner.
Thirty-Six: Formerly known as Perdition, Thirty-Six is able to cause himself or any person or object he sees to be reverted to their state and location as of a few seconds earlier. Any object so transferred, including himself, do not retain memory of the event. Frontliner.
Forty-Two: A slow-acting teleportation; takes up to a minute to transport to new location with the entire squad acting in unison, and isn't very long distance. Frontliner.
Tong Li Ta/Ziggurat: Can send out pulses/waves of energy that shape the environment to her design. She can cancel out seismic events in areas under her influence, raise or alter entire buildings and their internal structures, or destroy them within an instant. Power isn't fast-acting enough for a frontliner, so she's mostly used to maintain CUI/Yangban prisons and other infrastructure so that guards and military do not have to waste expenses maintaining important/vital infrastructure.
Jia: A tinker who works for the Yangban, creating simulations for them to practice in, among other technology; his powers were considered too valuable to share amongst groups. He is also responsible for the fractal design of the Imperial Palace that the Royal Family lives in, confusing any would-be infiltrators or assassins.
National Goals: Reclaim China. Utilize tinkertech to figure out if there's a way to poke dimensions and get 'home'.
History: The CUI formed as a successor state to the People's Republic of China; how this occurred, however, is unknown. It is currently believed that members of the current Royal Family, along with Shen Yu and One, conspired together to take over the Chinese government and military, and through them, reshape China in their own image. Whatever the case, it was successful. As of now, the Yangban is essential to the Royal Family for keeping control over the Chinese government, military, and society; whether the Royal Family are still actually in control or the Yangban is using them as puppets for Shen Yu and One's collective goals/machinations is, at this time, unknown.
The Heir to the CUI recently died as a result of an Endbringer attack, causing tensions to rise between China and the US. The CUI leadership is likely operating under the presumption that, if their history becomes known, any alternate dimensional US will likely become full of tension towards them as well; as a result, they do not have any intention to contact the local US. The CUI at some point absorbed the Korean Peninsula, and was most recently trying to invade New Siam (Thailand).

Decided to play the CUI from the web serial Worm. I'll try to restrict Yangban squads to 'named' members/powers, but I may make a few of my own 'OCs' as well - don't worry, I don't intend to go too crazy with it. Or, at least, nothing crazier than some of the powers already granted.
Note: not all information in the app is canon, or even fanon. Some of it is just fill-ins to make sure things fill out the app nice and neat as required.
Also, hi DEA! Long time, no see, eh?
Pop seems a bit low, but that's really just me. Either way, accepted!
And yee, long time no see.
