Granted, exactly -how- one would steal techs right now is a bit of a conundrum. Aside from directly abducting tribe members.

It killed me to skip out on scholar.. but it does mean that I get to use my special bows and still have a worker.. workers can be life savers. Though, this nomadic band thing is quite interesting compared to having a single, really over powered character.

I like it quite a bit. I'm hoping the warfare bonuses will even out against the tribes greater technological prowess, especially since only a few people seem to have any warriors at all.

Combat bonuses are nice. Being able to kill them before they can even reach you is better. Though.. if I run across some settled folks soon I may try and trade first. No reason to risk my young children at this time.

The how is kidnapping the scholars and forcing them to research for you or teach your people how to do things. That being said, it may be easier to have a friendly settled tribe to teach you and a non-friendly tribe to steal tools and what not from.

Eh, I feel like you could convince someone to explain something simple (like a Sling or Smoking) at bow-point, and for something more complicated (let's say a bronze spear), just yoink the object and try to reverse engineer it.
