Ah. I'm thinking of a captain with extreme hatread towards the Kalerman, his personal motto would be suffer not the alien to live. But without the threat of a major war breaking out, it's quite hard for me to roleplay as such captain.

I plan for the character to have a background that would fit his motivation. Perhaps a Kalerman attack?

There have been occasional terrorist attacks by Kalerman extremists, so you cold just do that. There have also been 'hot incidents' (not outright war but short firefights between starships due to miscommunications at tense times).

When I saw the OP, my first character idea was also a fleet admiral (captain) but then I saw "only one per 3 politicians and we have one already" and went with my now character. And I kind of like him now. But damn, I need a better time-management. It's way to late already again (23:30 here).

It has one moon (Arzeria), the size of Earth's moon. Aside from a few research stations and military facilities, there aren't any civilian communities on the moon.

Also, since we already have many politicians and no active captain, I will be lifting the 3 - 1 rule to encourage people who want to join as Captains. Will reinstate if I feel we have way too many captains. Politics are the focus after all.

Some info is better then no info. I'd say as Assemblymen we should already know quite a bit of what I want to know, but then again I saw that in the first post you called the state of the relation "cold war" and given that, I say with at least some words with some Kelerians I should have an information advantage even if I only get very general knowledge from the Kalerman Union.

We also need more captains; in order to increase activity, people are allowed to have a second character (captain if they are politician and the reverse), as long as they do not help each other or belong in the same political grouping, in which case I would have to disallow it. Main Strengths: As with Vilna Korr I've designed Darbo's strengths and weaknesses to come in pairs.

Brutal Tactician: Darbo is a firm believer in strategy and decisive action. He has a powerful strategic mind and is quick on his feet.

Mercantile Connections: Relying on his past as a merchant mariner, Darbo can sometimes glean information that is not necessarily for public consumption from his merchant friends.

Main Weaknesses:

Damn the Torpedoes! Full Steam Ahead!: This character dislikes inaction, believing it gives the enemy time to outmaneuver him.

Despises Pirates: He may neglect more important objectives to protect Dreyan shipping and has a tendency to be blinded by his hatred of pirates.


Biography: Darbo is not from Dreyan: He is from Dreyan space. His family were Dreyan merchant mariners and planetside living was rare for him. He considered space differently. He considered time differently. There was a point when his family ship was attacked by pirates and its crew captured. His life, Darbo thought, was forfeit. Space would be his coffin. In the nick of time, he and his family were rescued by a cruiser of the Imperial Navy. This experience gave Darbo infinite admiration for, and the impetus to join, the Navy. It also left him with a deep-seated loathing for all things piracy.

Crew: Viris Talbot (Gunnery Lieutenant - 2nd in Command): Viris is Darbo's creature. She is as solemn and brutal as he is, both to Dreyan's enemies as well as her subordinates. Hand picked by Darbo for her incredible performance at the Academy, her hands on experience is short for someone of her rank but her technical knowledge and skill are beyond doubt.

Malroy Kisch (Engineer): A brilliant physicist who made the unfortunate mistake of agreeing to be Darbo's engineer if the former managed to beat him in a game of racquetball. Darbo conveniently did not mention beforehand that he was a collegiate champion in the sport. Malroy has grown into his post and is resolved to at least get a book deal about it afterward.

What a curious coincidence, that the percentage of seats is exactly proportional to the poll percentages despite the district first-past-the-post system. Well, I guess I should not complain as it means that the district-split between PLP and ProP worked - though it also means, that the same split between Creationists and DFP also worked without them even trying. ... Although, given what we know about the parties so far, this one-dimensional left-right thinking really does not represent Dreyan Politics. For every two parties, there are some issues where they disagree and some where they at least kind of agree.


Anyway, the results are good for drama, as it might now matter, who those 25 Independent candidates are.

Also, I too, would like to see a new Discord Invite, as Telegrams are not optimal for coalition-negotiations and I did not catch the last one before if became invalid.
