Madrid
The boats were getting ready to travel to the new world. They had some settlements on islands, but they were going bigger. There were 500 soldiers and 4,000 settlers on the numerous ships. The troops were in high spirits. The troops set off and went to the long Atlantic ocean.

- Yirmisekizzade Mehmed Said Pasha, Governor of Egypt

Being the Pasha of the Eyalet of Egypt meant ruling over one of the largest and richest provinces in the Seljuk Empire. It was a task that was entrusted to loyal, trustworthy and competent officials. Yirmisekizzade Mehmed Said Pasha embodied all those traits. Having worked his way up in the central government's bureaucracy in Iraq, he became a fiscal official in Egypt before assuming the office of Pasha. A competent and eloquent man, he had managed to gain the support of many of the Egyptian potentates.

Mehmed was a scholar first and foremost. His palace contained a huge library that included translated works of Greek scholars such as Aristotle and Plato, along with the works of Arabic scholars and Islamic theological diatribes. Even before he became a Pasha, when he was a simple official, he maintained a collection of books in his house that impressed his superiors. Now, as Pasha of Egypt, he would spend much of his free time reading and writing works of philosophy.

Egypt was a relatively peaceful province. Aside from a few sporadic raids by Libyan tribesmen, it did not face any real danger; to the east lay the Eyalet of Palestine and to the south the Eyalet of Nubia. As such, the Pashas of Egypt could spend most of their time concerned about the more mundane aspects of governing rather than worrying about warfare. The Italian invasion of Libya changed all of this; suddenly, Egypt became the Empire's second frontier with Christian Europe.

Mehmed had been ordered to begin construction of fortifications along with Egyptian-Libyan border, and so he did. Hundreds of workers, many of them Nubians, had began work on the border, constructing wooden forts that could house from thirty to eighty soldiers, along with supply depots and horse stations to allow fast communication between the forts; a horseman could arrive at a fort, deliver his message and grab a fresh horse to continue at once his journey. Mehmed had also raised the number of men at arms in the Eyalet. Two hundred new horsemen and eight hundred footmen had been drafted into the Seljuk military to reinforce the garrisoned forces.

While focusing on that task, Mehmed chose not to ignore his other duties as well. With donations from local wealthy landowners, he began construction of a new majestic mosque in Cairo. It was meant to be an answer to the 'Latins'; Egypt is and will remain Muslim.

Budapest, Imperial Palace

The Emperor sat in his throne, listening as the jesters and dancers tried their best to amuse or distract him. He felt sleepy, perhaps due to the lavish party he had hosted last night. While he was occupied with these thoughts, the music came to an abrupt end as Minister Kocsis entered unannounced. "Not this one again" Thought the King. Why was it that every time he was relaxing came the Minister with more boring reports about politics or war. However, he shuddered to think what would he do if he dispose of him. He could not stand the rivalries and bitter political games.

"Greetings, your Majesty. I bring great news" The Minister sported austere clothes, which contrasted with the shining display of opulence with which the Emperor impressed the court. "The Bosnians have surrendered, now only a few negligible kilometres separate our brave forces from the Alps. With the Bosnians and Serbs out of the picture, we might want to expand southwards and maybe contest the zone of decadent Venice with the Romans. If we controlled Venice, Austria would become landlocked and humiliated."

"Yes, yes. A splendid idea Minister. Do as you wish." The Emperor wasn't really interested in the affairs of the Empire as long as he could maintain his opulence.

"But keeping both Greece and the expansionist Romans at bay won't be easy without allies. I request your permission to initiate diplomatic talks with some of our neighboring kingdoms."

"Permission granted, Minister. Is there anything more you require?"

"No, my lord." Kocsis bowed reverently and exited. Once he was out of the palace he made signal to his secretary to approach and whispered "Send a message to the Seljuk Empire immediately. We will propose an alliance against the Latins and Greece. They will surely appreciate having an ally in such a strategic region as the Balkans."

"Yes, your excellency. But, if I may, the Seljuk Empire isn't exactly welcoming to Christians and is somewhat isolationist. And, furthermore, the Catholic church won't take this lightly."

"The Catholic church will do as I say! The good of the people is sovereign and I embody the will of the people. As for the Seljuks, Selim IV and his advisors surely know that in international relations we must be pragmatic. Anyways, send a Muslim as messager. They will surely appreciate the gesture."

Two days later, the representative barked in a small unnamed port near the frontier with the Greeks. Destination? Istanbul.
Long live to science! Long live reason!

The Liechtensteiner soldiers finished taking the brunt of Switzerland, though were readying to cross the Alps and siege Berne and the rest of the Swiss Counties.

Other soldiers continued their fronts in South Germany/Bavaria/German borderlands, using the soldiers from the mutinies and sieging the towns; taking whatever was there, including the women. Liechtenstein could always use more German girls, and continuing to advance and grow.

Hopefully being a middle power or great power instead of an insignificant land, but they had to place alot of gold and Deniers into the military and not just Education, or this newfound Intellectualism.

General Lenosio had split the force with Major General Partini to attack eastern Libya. After 2 months, they had taken the coast of Libya. They were currently trying to convince Libyans, especially the minority Christians. They had recruited 200 but that was not enough.

Image

General Monteculli had finally conquered Sardinia. The siege of the great city of Cagaliari, had finished. There were a great number of dead and a new governor was appointed. King Alfonso sent a proclamation

People of the Kingdom of Rome! Old and New citizens! Hear ye! King Alfonso has promised to cut the tax of 5% on Jewish and Muslims to 2%.

Depiction of the developing Bengkulu Settlement by a Malaccan artist

Bengkulu Settlement, Sumatra Island
Location

A few months passed since the arrival of Malaccan settlers on the coasts of the land now called Bengkulu. It is technically a cape since the land protrudes into the sea thus creating somewhat of a mild barrier or protection against strong rogue waves that may occur during the monsoon season. However to the south of the developing settlement, lies a very promising bay that would allow for bigger ports to be built and support larger ships that can be docked in the ports. Currently it is unnamed but once the settlement of Bengkulu develops into a proper town, new ports will be built in the bay to welcome traders that may want to seek shelter and barter with the local people.

Natives of the land were quite indifferent at first and some were even hostile, but through diplomatic moves by the settlers and promises of making the natives more modern without sacrificing their culture and traditions were made, relations with the native heads started to get better. The settlers offered jobs to the natives in exchange for settlers helping the natives improve their village infrastructure and a better lifestyle via supplies and money coming in from the capital.

Athens, Greece

The emperor was one to like land. He had set up an invasion of Libya. But now that he hears that Libya's coast has been taken by those Romans, the emperor decided against invading, and started to send telegrams to the Ottoman Emperor, about buying their land

General Lenosio with 5,000 men had gone up north to get other, richer cities. They had met a 4,000 strong army at the border and were fighting it ferociously. Major General Patini had started to go south to control trade routes and cut off a lifeline

Image
General Monteculli had left 3,000 men in Sardinia. The remaining 10,000 troops were sailed to Sicily to continue their conquest. They were competing against the kingdom of Catania-Reggio. Sicily had the natural resources to gain more food and better control of the Mediterranean.

The diplomats were glad. They had just bought gibaltar from the ruler

OOC: Gibraltar wouldn't have been bought.

you can't just say that because you want to.

20,000 troops were sent to Morocco for the planned invasion. They had not seen nor heard from any of their scouts, but there were rumors that a large army was coming close. The large Spanish Navy had cut off Morocco from the outside world. The Spanish Navy and Moroccan Navy had clashed off the coast of Tangier, and many ships were lost, but the Moroccan Navy had been forced back to the Port.

The convoy to the America's were still in the Atlantic Ocean.

the telegram back was rejected, so lemme conquer the parts of Libya that haven't been conquered. We've already sent ships, just that we recalled them, but they still on Libya.
