Heights. It's not impossible to be tall, just saying.

Let’s look at this from a logical standpoint. Women in 1918 averaged 5’0, probably a few inches shorter what with her being Asian. My character was originally 6’1, but this was deemed ludicrously tall for this day and age. Jesse Dredlen is a well fed rich white guy. Him being about an inch or two taller than average is probably to be expected. But how the hell is this young lady a near foot taller than average, suggesting gigantism in this day and age, while still maintaining perfect ladylike proportions?

I'm not about to debate that. She's french, just with an Asian background (should've specified on what parent's side) but mostly French w/ an Asian background.

I'll change, since I don't wanna have a debate over height, though I'd like Marcolle to be tall.

Weirdly enough, she's also tall (around 5'4 or 5'7, though taller in footwear)

Personal Effects: Banjo, revolver, switchblade, multiple pairs of shoes, multiple hats, pants and dresses, multiple blue tops/shirts.

For starters, that image is intensely anachronistic. The little black dress really didn't exist before 1926 when Coco Chanel debuted it. Hair was typically worn, but not always worn up. A woman wearing trousers outside of the ones in the work-effort during the war was unheard off. The application process asked for something that was suitable for the period given that everyone else has done so.

I'm not going to ding points off for being French-Korean on principle, but I'd prefer to see some actual backstory justifying that. Koreans likely weren't super common in France in the 1880s to marry Frenchmen/women. Connected her heritage, what background provided for her to pick up the number of musical instruments she has learned, and to travel Europe to the degree that she has. Especially with a European War going on. Portugal may have had limited involvement, and Spain was neutral, iirc. But traveling to England would have been tough, and the rest of continental Europe would have been impossible.

Stealth is a useful thing, but between the anachronistic fashion sense and her appearance, she'd likely stand out immensely. As for how she fights, who taught her, what does her style vaguely look like. Unfortunately, none of these questions like matter because a skill section was conspicuously absent in the application. Your background and "job" goes further to dictate your skills than just saying you have them.

That's important because this is a horror RP and letting players determine the full extent of their skills just by saying they have it erodes the one important thread of horror; A lack of power and agency.

What Bingellia is doing is trying to help you improve your app to the point where we can accept it. I understand it can be difficult to hear criticism, but please take it onboard and don't argue to toss as we aren't going to back down or make allowances.

We are attempting a different sort of RP here, as I hope has been explained in both the OP and the subsequent comments. The RP will focus on character, mood and story. It isn't helpful to think of it in terms of video or tabletop games. There are plenty of RPs that work like that though this isn't one.

I would reiterate Bing's comments on the app and have some more advice to add:

• Owing to the high quality of the apps we have received we are asking people not to use anachronistic character art. Find something period appropriate. If you are struggling to find some, we are very happy to help.
• I understand that most RPs want you to list skills and that is probably more important than the character background. We don't want to know your skills, we just want to know your background (like I said, different sort of RP). Your ability to do certain things should logically flow from that background. For instance, you would imagine that a demobbed soldier would know how to use firearms and probably handle themselves competently if they needed to wrestle with something. Your app doesn't say very much about your character's story or how they came to be here. You've given us your intended end result, but I want to see a story that tells us how you got there.
• This RP is set in a very specific place and time. Your app could be for any period in history. I'd like to see the character placed more in the world of 1918.
• I know there was a discussion on height before. You have modified the app to give a range of 4 inches. Pick something in that range.

Out of pure nerdy interest, since it's my character who's the tallest female at the moment (Eleanor Martin - 5'9''), I decided to do some research to make sure she wasn't unrealistic. According to my slightly rough calculations she'd be in the top percentile for height for a British woman in the era... BUT, amongst the Upper Classes (who were about 1% taller in this period), 1 in 44 women would be taller than her. So not off the charts.

I think she's absolutely fine... she's grown up in a wealthy family so she'll be expected to be a bit taller (that 1% I mentioned was down to nutrition), same as Eleanor.

I also don't think Jewish folk are especially short... I'd never thought they were anyway and while I don't think any race specific data exists from the era, modern Israelis are, on average, taller than modern Brits.

On a side note, for the characters on the front page I've tried to summarise them as succinctly as possible using the name I think they'll use in the RP. Though if you'd like that changed, let me know.

Also where the Nationality is disputable I've gone with the one that I think is how people are most likely to perceive someone (such as describing Irish as Irish rather than British). Similarly, if you want me to change it, I'll do it.

Received manila envelope promising an opportunity to satiate his curiosity (presumably by the Order). "By golly, I'm no gambling man, but this is one bet I'll have to take."
