gee, almost like the South and North were almost two different countries
Gee, Cascadia and Newengland are also lefties (especially California and Vermont)
That’s an incredibly inaccurate generalization.

Not really.
Ted Cruz (Senator, TX) - Conservative, Republican (Southerner)
California, in general - Democrat, Communist-Socialist (Cascadia)
Vermont - Democrat/Independent, Ecocommunism (New England)
Florida - Weird to actually place on a political compass or map.
Louisiana - Southern Democrat (not to be confused w/ Dixiecrat), Longist, Laissez-faire, Agrarian, Republican/Swing
Seattle (especially considering CHAZ) - Far-leftism, in-general. Democrat.
Nevada - I'd assume they'd be Democrat, also, but they're surprisingly Republican. I'd say Libertarian.
Mississippi - Traditionalist, Republican
Georgia (minus Stacy Abrams) - Conservative/Trumpist, Republican
Alabama - Traditionalist, Republican
Southern Democrat (not Dixie or racist, btw) Left-wing, though right when it comes to gays and abortions.
Northern Republican - Right, but socially left.
This is based upon the North-South divide where the South was Conservative to far-right (like Dixie, Paleoconservatism, essentially)
The South was agrarian. All ideologies and subideologies are viable, but the South would mainly be Conservative.
The North/Union would be more "open-minded" than the South, though the South literally had/has Huey P. Long and the Long Dynasty, Basil Marceaux, Beto Orourke, and other lefties/left-leaners.
Also, you have to take in mind/account Urban v. Rural. The South doesn't have that many inner cities. The North has Chicago, San Diego, San Francisco, NYC, Queens and so on.
Certain parts of the South can/could be considered Liberal or Liberal ideologies.
Louisiana, being an ex-French state, has certainly picked-up alot from France. (essentially American Quebec in some regards)
Vermont is literally home to Bernard "Bernie" Sanders. Vermont and other states in New England are home to Environmentalist sentiment.
Same goes for Cascadia. You'll find alot of Communist-Socialists or Environmentalists there.
As for personal ideology, like I said; it's about Environment and how you were raised. Parenting styles, and all. Also, take into account if you've moved from state to state or from a "liberal" part of a state to a "conservative" part of a state.
