I'll get a post up tomorrow or the next day; try to leave things pretty open-ended so Cy can join in. Anything the ODA should notice while putting Mustafa under observation?

Took a while, but here it is. Not entirely satisfied with it, though. I feel like there's still some things off about my app.

Qiyadari Ministry of the Interior
Qiyadari National Police

Unit Name: 127th Independent Maintenance Platoon 'Iron Crypt' (Krîpta Hesin/Sarudaab Al-hadid)
Unit Commander: Feroz Mahabadi
Unit Commander's Image:
Image

Unit Specialty: Army engineering maintenance and logistics, field repair, upgrade and retrofitting
Unit Size and Strength: 46 men
  • HQ Squad - 7 men
  • 1st Maintenance Squad - 13 men
  • 2nd Maintenance Squad - 13 men
  • 3rd Maintenance Squad - 13 men
Unit History: Called the Iron Crypt, the 127th Independent Maintenance Platoon, as officially known, is just of several informal units in the hodgepodge of militias that defend Riverwalk. However, while most fall neatly within the dividing lines between the Christian, Kurdish, Yazidi and other communities, the unique services of the Iron Crypt, re-purposing and repairing technicals, leftover army stocks and derelict hulls for use, has attracted a diverse mix of individuals from the district and outside. Tempered only by their ire for the Sunni-dominated insurgency and frustrations with the Shi'ite-controlled government, the platoon, was able to maintain an unusual sense of unity in an otherwise fractious coalition. All that, as some in the platoon would attest, appeared partly due to the efforts of its commander, the placid Iranian exile Feroz Mahabadi. While his old ties with the Socialist Party had been called into question, the former engineer-turned-repairman insisted that those days are long gone. Indeed, his formation of the Iron Crypt to aid in the defence of Riverwalk against Socialist Party loyalists had lent credence to his claims, and while still largely regarded as an outsider by his men and allies, those under his ranks at least trust the Zoroastrian Kurd as an impartial figure in the unit and the community.

Equipment-wise, the militia unit's resources remain scant, often relying on old Soviet vehicles or civilian technicals for their armoured vehicle recovery work. A mismatch of procured or scavenged small arms, ARVs in various states of repair and supplies needed for repair works has put a further strain on their logistics. Still, suggestions of a closer association with government forces in exchange for increased support had been repeatedly refused, with Mahabadi pointing to the present alienation of the Riverwalk community from Gerrha as his rationale. Regardless, the Iron Crypt remains open to supporting any effort to force back the insurgents, who remain a constant threat to the minorities in the district.

I'm not fundamentally opposed to this, but I would like to hear what your plans for the position would be. Just trying to make sure that it's within the overall vision I have for the RP (a primarily intelligence and SOF focus).

Actually scrap the idea, I'll try and put in a normal app later today.

So I'm assuming those of us who were not directly mentioned in the first post of the IC are free to start out more or less as we see fit.

Qiyadari Ministry of the Interior
Qiyadari National Police

Unit Name: "Delta Company" part of the 1st Reformed Qiyadari Tank Brigade
Unit Commander: Major Isahfan Tubal
Unit Commander's Image:

Unit Specialty: Armoured Combat and Rapid reactions force
Unit Size and Strength: 14 T-72B3M Tanks each comprised of 3 men in each tank, 10 BMP Armoured Vehicles consisting of 3 personal to operate the vehicles and 8 soldiers. Bringing the total number to 152 total soldiers
Unit History: D Company is made up of the last remnants of Qiyadari 3rd Tank Divison mainly Charlie, Delta, and Echo companies as well as 2nd Moblie Infantry division that was attached. Due to the bloodless nature of the invasion, much of the equipment is serviceable to the soldiers with the tanks still in top condition. However, following the collapse of the official government many men deserted the ranks to return home but a few brave men decided to stay electing to surrender to the UN coalition on the condition that they could be used in order to maintain public order in the outskirts of the Capital. They were given their request and the men formally of the 3rd Tank Division became Delta Company with the greek Symbol of Delta becoming the symbol of the unit. As the Reformed Qiyadar Armed Forces began to be formed Delta Company was officially absorbed by the faction seeing it was the last remnant of organized military presence. While Delta Company is under the de jure leadership of the Reformed Qiyadar Armed Forces they mostly act with their own intuition and interest. Currently the Company is stationed just on the outside of the Capital of Gerrha awaiting for something to do and helping Coalition personal with Roadblock duty and dealing with minor public unrest in the outskirts in the South Western AO of Gerrha. The current leader of Delta Company is Major Isahfan Tubal once a major in the 3rd Tank Division he wish to retain his rank and his work in the Qiyardi Armed Forces.

Just that he's always around foreign fighters, so tread carefully.

Indeed. I will be working you in more directly as we go along.

Love the technical aspect and appreciate that they're developing their own militia, but I would like to definitely see them take a more direct role in the fighting (other than the technicals) as the RP goes. With that being said, I have accepted this application.

While I like the idea of a Qiyadari Army unit, I'm not entirely sure of the relevancy of a tank platoon within a Special Operations and Intelligence-focused RP. Is there any possibility you'd be willing to rework this?

Is there any organic air support / transportation or are these units going to rely on surprise / motor vehicles?

A rotary unit would not hurt; perhaps 160th could get into the mix.

I would second this. 160th wouldn't hurt at all.

Question, is this an OTL RP or is it something our nation becomes involved with?
