Personality: He is incredibly loyal to whoever he serves, often overperforming on tasks given by his overlord, he has a very strong sense of kinship with his sons, as well as any other people he serves alongside it, if such a person is killed, Nikolai will undoubtedly seek vengeance on the killer
Backstory:
Nikolai, as his brothers and sisters, he was wisked away from the Emperor by the malevolent Chaos Gods, and hurled across the void towards a planet, a beautiful and lush Garden World, it's beauty would astound, it's opulence could rival even the most revered Pleasure Worlds in the Imperium, artists produced beatiful works of art, musicians produced music which could mesmerize even those on the brink of deafness, truly, you would be able to describe the beauty of Osowiec all day long and there would yet be still more.
And it is here that Nikolai would land, adopted by the nobility, he would live a life of pleasure and he could have mastered whatever fine art he would have wanted, he was intelligent, he was skilled, he was handsome, it was as if Osowiec channelled it's enchating beauty into him, he would eventually become the leader of his noble house, and under him it prospered, wine and honey flowed freely.
Yet, all things beautiful come to an abrupt stop, in the span of but a decade, the world would experience a shift unheard of, suddenly, the political machinations of noble houses could not be housed within the confines of the high chambers, dwelling in whispers and shadows as decadence festered among the population, the tumor that has grown over the centerries could not longer be ignored, Osowiec was going to war.
The world geared, and the world fought, it was destructive, it was grim, the green valleys became dotted with craters, the sky went from blue to a sickly green, in but a decade, the world transformed itself into a Death World, where perpetual war raged and sky was polluted to the point of being unbearable, and Nikolal, in the middle of all it, a general, was not spared, a gas attack nearly crippled him as his own gasmask burned into his skin, but he survived with the help of a mystical object and a family relic, the Caduceus, which kept him alive.
It was in this state of the world that the Imperium found it, and found Nikolai, he was given his legion, and he was given that world, he asked for but one thing, for the state of eternal war on it be preserved, as it would help weed out the week for the Legion, and be a perfect training ground for the Acolytes.

CaduceusIt is said that it can heal from any injury, it is said it can bring a man back to life, under one condition, it must be wielded by the one which it heals, some of it's abilities are exaggerated as per any legend, but it is what keeps Nikolai alive, and he carries it, buried in his armor, everywhere
Reaper's StaffA large scythe, it is said that it's tip contains every poison known to man, it is unknown wherever it is true, but it stings with every hit, a being that was touched by it's blade struggles to survive through the next hour, and it is almost unknown in Osowiec's folklore or the recorded history anybody survived three hours after being hit by it

Numeration: Legio XVII - Alternatively called "The Immortal Scourge" sometimes abbreviated just to "The Scourge"
Primogenitor: Nikolai
Noteworthy Domains: Osowiec - Homeworld of the Legion, also a Death World who's atmosphere is now mostly sulphur, requiring gas masks to live on it, and the most precious resource being unpolluted air, most of the recruits come from here
Combat Doctrine: Chemical and Biological Warfare
Appearance: Most of their armor is colored in deep dark sickly green, their shouldpads however, sport pure black coloration, with the legion insignia ( a white circle with a hazmat sign on it ) on the right one
Origins and History:
Legio XVII was originally intended as stalwart defenders of the Imperium's realms, and on many times they proved to be as such, defending fervently of Imperium's holdings, but this was to change, as they were reunited with their lost Primarch, he incorporated what he knew of warfare, the Legion became more balanced, being able to hold their own in both attack and defense, on Osowiec, chemical and biological warfare was used, and so did the Legion started using it, on Osowiec little care was given over civillians, and so the Legion also stopped caring about it, some may consider the changes to be for the worse, but one thing can be given, they have become much more efficient and deadly.
Legion Organisation and Structure: the Legion has a loose hierarchy due to Nikolai viewing all his sons as equals, on the battlefield however, it is usually those with most leadership skills that take charge, making them unofficial lieutenant's, whoever it may be, it is also expected that the marines will follow the one weilding the power of the burning gas, all of the marines are also required to follow Nikolai's every orderLegion Command Hierarchy: as detailed in the previous section, a command hierarchy isn't in place but forms naturally

Accepted
For the Reaper's Staff keep in mind that it won't be one shotting Astartes/Primarchs with one hit. This is part of Seg's and I trying to avoid potential conflicts in any PvP fights. For fluff you can keep the description but OOCly keep this in mind.

Hey, I took the time to make my own spin on the bio/chemical warfare concept, and it’s discouraging to see someone just take the speciality of my Primarch/legion anyway. I don’t want to discourage you in turn, a death-guard inspired endurance force could be super interesting. However it feels kind’ve shitty to me that you’ve just taken the exact speciality of the Sixteenth.

That came out rudely, I apologize. The only particular thing I have issue with is the specialization, everything else is cool! Endurance specialists that fight in hellholes sounds interesting if you would want to go that route

Morrdh wrote:The Primarch
Name: Segail Fitheach
Alias: The Ghost, Unseen One
Appearance: Alabaster white skin with shoulder length raven-black hair and of slimmer build and shorter stature compared to the other Primarchs. Eyes entirely black like shards of shadow.
Personality: Reserved and quiet, preferring to observe than engage in conversation and only exchanging precious few words when he has no choice but to talk. Comes off as cold and distant.
Backstory: Like his siblings, Segail was snatched by the Ruinous Powers from the Emperor whilst still an infant and flung across the galaxy. He was ultimately discovered on Cailleach, a small world shrouded in mist and rain that had been overrun by Orkz. Prior to the greenskins, Cailleach had attained a level of development equivalent to that of early 20th Century Terra but this mattered little in the face of the savage horde that descended upon the world.
Much of Cailleach's population had been killed or enslaved by the xenos, though a number of survivors went to ground to form a resistance movement. It was some resistance fighters who came across the infant Primarch in the sewers below one of Cailleach's ruined and xenos ravaged cities. The resistance fighters took pity upon the strange and curious child they'd found and took him in to raise as one of their own, though they were soon surprised by Segail's rapid growth. Within the span of only a few years, the young Segail had surprised everyone with his unnatural growth and was soon taking part in resistance attacks against the Orkz.
Segail's crowning achievement came when he managed to sneak into an Ork encampment and killed a Warboss without being seen, the resultant confusion amongst the greenskins when the resistance then attacked the encampment allowed the humans liberate territory from the savage xenos. Segail would continue to undermine the Orks, moving as a ghost and negating their strength in numbers by taking out their leadership and causing havoc in their encampments. At the same time Segail took what he learnt from the resistance and with the aid of knowledge planted in his mind trained up a cadre of specialist stealthers, then used them to great effect against the xenos.
By the time the tendrils of the Great Crusade reached Cailleach, humanity had reclaimed two-thirds of their world from the greenskins thanks to the efforts of Segail and his warrior cadre. The first to make contact with Segail were Astartes from the 13th Legion, the Lightbringers, who recognised him for what he was and had word sent to the Emperor. Short time later the Master of Mankind arrived and met, alone, with Segail before leaving the following day. Though the two spoke at length for a great many hours, it remains unknown what was exchanged between them.
With the Emperor's departure, Segail returned to the task of defeating the xenos menace that still plagued Cailleach. Though the greenskins had been greatly weakened, they still remained a potent threat. What more, a new Warboss had emerged to take charge of the Ork warbands and would soon challenge humanity once more for control of the world. Having made the 13th Legion agree to make an all-out attack on the Orks, Segail personally led his cadre to infiltrate the compound that the new Warboss had claimed as his own; an old missile silo.
The silo had been intended for the defence of Cailleach, but the compound had been overrun early on during the greenskin invasion and thus it's atomic weapons remained dormant. Segail's plan was two-fold, take out the Warboss and then detonate the ancient warheads to destroy a large chunk of the xenos forces. Though he was also aware that the compound contained hundreds of human slaves, who would most likely die. It was something that Segail grimly accepted, the price that needed to be paid to save thousands if not millions from the Orkish scourge. The resultant blossom of atomic fire signalled the Orks' defeat, though the remnants would scatter and still pose an admittedly reduced threat to the people of Cailleach.
The deed done, Segail left Cailleach and ventured out into the void to join the Legion that he was the progenitor for.
War Gear:
The Sable Armour: Fashioned for the master of the Spectral Stalkers by the Emperor's own artificers, this suit of highly sophisticated Power Armour not only offered the Primarch defence against outside attack, it also masked its sensor signature and could be used to disrupt enemy sensors and transmissions in his immediate vicinity.
Raven's Claws: Artificer-crafted Lightning Talons able to shred the heaviest armour with ease.
Shroud Bombs
Two Archeotech Pistols
The Legion
Numeration: VI Legion, Shadow Ravens
Primogenitor: Segail Fitheach
Noteworthy Domains: Cailleach (homeworld)
Combat Doctrine: Stealth and infiltration
Appearance: Black power armour with dark grey pauldrons.
Origins and History:
Like the other Legions, the VIth was raised on Terra itself and fought during the Unification Wars as the Emperor sought to re-unify the cradle of Mankind. Just like the other Legions the VIth was created with a specific role in mind; the role of the Emperor's hidden hand, vengeful sentinels against recidivists and harrowers of those who would sooner flee than bend knee before their new master.
Drawing on the demeanour of the techno-savages from which it recruited, the proto-Legion quickly demonstrated its skill at reconnaissance and target identification, and it ability to transition from inscrutable watchfulness to rapid attack in the blink of an eye. Its Legionaries waged war by infiltrating into position, studying their enemy and, when the time was right, striking from the least anticipated quarter and slaying the foe outright in a bloody, yet brief assault.
The Legion would spend most of the Unification Wars waging a hidden war, striking from the shadows and it's hand remaining hidden even after the battle was done. Even when the Great Crusade got underway, the VIth remained one of the smaller Legions and preferred it's 'shadow war' style of fighting. During the early campaigns of the Crusade it regularly fought alongside the XIth, letting the much larger Legion engage the enemy before the VIth's own warrior struck from the shadows.
For a long time the VIth Legion was dubbed the 'Ghost Legion' due to it's style of warfare, striking as it did from the shadows like 'ghosts'. This moniker almost stuck if it wasn't for the tragic circumstances surrounding the unification of the Legion with it's Primarch.
When news of Segail's discovery, much of the Legion assembled into a fleet to go meet their gene-father after almost two centuries. The exact circumstances of what happened next isn't fully clear, but it is generally believe that the fleet got caught in a sudden warp storm that destroyed most of the vessels. The survivors, only a few hundred strong, were in a sorry state when they finally met their Primarch. Segail, for his part, blames himself for the few thousand Legionnaires would still live if it they hadn't journeyed to meet him.
Severely weakened by the disaster, the VIth had to recruit heavily from Cailleach in order to rebuild it's strength. So far it has only been able to build it's number up to the seven thousand figure. Segail has overseen much of the training of the recruits, building upon the skill-set the Cailleach resistance fighters had used against the Orks. Due to it's small numbers, the Legion has played on it's mastery of stealth and shadow warfare to off-set it's limited numbers and has frequently deployed small units to various warzones to build up it's combat experience.
Legion Organisation and Structure: The VIth Legion is split into seven battalions of a thousand Legionnaires strong, these battalions are further split into ten companies with each containing a hundred or so Legionnaires. Though when deployed, the VIth tends to operate in platoon or squad sized formations.
Legion Command Hierarchy: Segail maintains a fairly loose chain of command, but grudgingly acknowledges the usefulness of defined organisation. Each battalion is led by a Shadow Master with Shade Captains heading up each company.
Specialist Formations:
Maighstirean sgàil: The Maighstirean sgàil, more informally known as 'Shadow Masters', is an elite unit of reconnaissance troops or scouts. These elite Legionaries were rumored to have inherited a modicum of the unique trait of their genetic father that allowed them to "Shadow-Walk", enabling them to deny their presence to anything with a mind, making them effectively invisible. They were exclusively formed from Cailleach-born Astartes who inherited more of their Primarch's genome than their Terran-born brethren, thus enabling them to use the same 'Shadow-Walk' ability of their gene-father. Segail formed these Astartes into a specialist unit and, using his formidable knowledge of stealth and sabotage to the fullest extent, trained these specially selected Legionaries to be called upon to perform highly dangerous reconnaissance and guerilla missions deep behind enemy lines.
Legion Wargear: Legion Commanders make heavy use of Lighting Claws and sniper rifles are frequently carried by most squads.
Legion Vehicles: Thunderhawk and Darkwing Storm Eagle gunships.
Legion Fleet: Operates a handful of strike cruisers and escorts.
