Synopsis

It is the 31st Millennium and Humanity has spread across the stars! A million worlds forming the bastions of Humanity across the blackness of the void. A million suns bathing all manner of worlds and their inhabitants in their light. Unified under the rule of the Emperor of Mankind. For two hundred years the Emperor, joined by his Twenty Gene-Forged Primarchs and their Space Marine Legions, has waged the most monumental of Human endeavors! The Great Crusade has spread from Sol to the fringes of the Galaxy. Liberating, conquering, and discovering the numerous lost colonies after five millennia of darkness and superstition. Pushing back the blackness of the abyss and purging the Xenos from the rightful dominions of Mankind. Two centuries of progress, advancement, improvement, and construction of the greatest empire to span the Galaxy. And victory is at hand...

Image
The Ullanor Crusade broke the back of the largest Greenskin Empire and last significant bastion of Xenos resistance in the Galaxy. The Emperor, joined by four of his Primarch scions and their Legions, with millions of Imperial Army soldiers and thousands of vessels from the Imperial Armada fought a brutal campaign across the Ullanor Empire's territory. Scouring it clean of Ork life and there in the presence of many the Emperor announced that he would be leaving the Great Crusade. Returning to Terra to begin his next Great Project and leaving the progress of the Crusade in the hands of his Primarchs. Crowning one of which as Warmaster of the Imperium.

But all was not well...

Bitter rivalry, feuds that went back years if not decades, and maybe even the whispers of jealousy plagued the Primarchs. Siblings in all but name, the Primarchs share comradery and loathing for each other in variable measure. While, circling are the dark denizens of the Warp, seeking to undo all that the Emperor has created and sojourn the Galaxy to their ruinous whims...

Dramatis Personae
The Primarch
Name: Vasilisa Sanguina
Alias: The Golden Queen, The Angel of Solaria, The Emperor's Daughter
Appearance:
(Image)
Personality: Vasilisa could best be described as level headed. Quit and remote. Distant but not cold. Possessing, as her legionary officers and marines who meet her note, a peculiar sense of humour. Especially when in the company of her brothers. Vasilisa is an adept war leader and administrator. But does not seem overly eager for the former and dutiful if not entirely enthusiastic for the latter. No, Vasilisa is much more consumed with science and the recovery of technology and as such forges connections with the Mechanicum when able.
Backstory:

The Primarch that would be known as Vasilisa was scattered about, like her brethren, before the Great Crusade when the Ruinous Powers whisked the Primarchs away from the Emperor's underground gene laboratories. Vasilisa, carried by the waves of the Empyrean, landed on the world of Solaria. To the Galactic West of Terra. Onto a beautifully dangerous world inhabited by the remnants of a space faring civilization from Humanity's dark age. The Solarians retaining the technology for space flight but primarily confined to their mountain cities. Having abandoned various locations and having lost the ability to resettle them in any meaningful. This is largely due to the cities of Solaria being from the Dark Age of Technology and the technologies therein suffering catastrophic damage by the ravages of Old Night and time itself. The Solarians were a remnant until the coming of their Golden Queen. A name that is not literal so much as figurative. For under Vasilisa's guidance she reinvigorated the people of Solaria. Re-establishing trade with neighboring worlds, even annexing some, while promoting the arts and sciences on Solaria itself.

Eventually, the Emperor's expeditionary fleets arrived in the Solarian system, following rumor's by their neighbors of an expanding power. They were surprised to find one of the Emperor's lost progeny at the help. This surprise of course was not shared by the Emperor as he rushed to Solaria to reclaim his genetic offspring. Meeting in the Adamantine Palace on Solaria, behind closed doors, none quite knew what transpired between Father and Daughter. Only that when they emerged the Golden Queen took command of the 5th Legion and declared that Solaria was one with the Imperium of Mankind. That they had been reunited with their long lost homeworld of Terra and a golden age was coming.
War Gear:

The Aetherial Crown
A silver crown possessing a a strong refractor shield and cloaking generator.

The Sword of Vylkaz

A sword harkening to ancient rulers of Old Earth. A shimmering golden blade that operates like a power weapon. The blade has managed to cut through ceramite and even tank armour with relative ease in the hands of the Primarch.

The Scarlet Glaive

A glaive possessing a scarlet blade and crimson handle. Emitting a purple flame when wielded and rumoured to be a psychic weapon harnessing the mind of its wielder.

Wings of Karpatha

White mechanical wings using archeotech repulsor technology to propel the user aloft.

The Legion
Numeration: V (5th)
Primogenitor: Vasilisa Sanguina
Noteworthy Domains: The Realm of Valtmar (A collection of one hundred star systems centered around the planet of Solaria).
Solaria
The adoptive homeworld of Vasilisa and the Vth Legion. An advanced world dotted by old cities and the ruins of many others. A world wracked by fierce electrical storms but also cradling a rich biosphere of fauna and flora that have survived the harsh seasons.
Castillo de Solus
An ancient stronghold located in what was the Mesoamerican region of Old Earth. The Vth's Legion's official and original garrison fortress on Terra.

Hyperion Sextus
Located in the resource rich Hyperion system which serves as the main void based industrial base for the Vth Legion. Home to a Mechanicus Forgeworld and expansive geo-synchronous dockyards.

Combat Doctrine: Spearhead assault and surgical strikes.
Appearance:
Typical Legionary Colours(Image)
The main body of Legionnaires wear the Legion colours of Red, White, or Black. However, distinct specialist formations often have their own colour schemes and aesthetics.
Origins and History:

The 5th Legion's history begins on Terra. One of the original twenty space marine legions created by the Emperor of Mankind in his goal of conquering the galaxy. Reclaiming and liberating the worlds of mankind while pushing back the curtain of Old Night. To spread the flame of a nascent Imperium and rekindle the civilization of humanity across the stars. The 5th Legion originally was simply known as the Blood Lords and recruited from the Carpathian Hive Cities of Old Europa. The 5th Legion's earliest actions include the pacification of Luna and the wars in the outer reaches of the Sol System.

When the Great Crusade finally erupted out of the Sol System the 5th Legion, like the other Legions, led the massive Human offensive into the cosmos. Fighting alongside the other Legions in numerous campaigns until reuniting with their Primarch, the third to be rediscovered, on the world of Solaria. Located to the Galactic West of Terra.

The 5th Legion Primarch was discovered on the world of Solaria, Segmentum Solar, to the Galactic west of Terra. A world of beauty and terror. Wracked by fierce electrical storms and punishing seasons. The equatorial zones frequently sporting sweltering hot days before plummeting to below freezing at night during the Season of Flames. The human colonists however, for the most part, managed to survive in the remaining intact Dark Age of Technology cities. Maintaining and even replicating some of its technology. However, no functional STC or complete blueprint encyclopedia survived the calamity and chaos of Old Night.
The Solarians were space faring when the 25th Expeditionary Fleet arrived in the system. The two polities almost coming to blows until realization that the Golden Queen was none other than a Primarch. The Emperor wasting no time in making for Solaria. Arriving with all due haste to reclaim his long lost progeny.
What transpired between the Emperor and the Golden Queen could only be guessed. But after five days they emerged from the Adamantine Palace on Solaria with Vassilisa taking up the mantle of Primarch of the 5th Legion. The Legion arriving on Solaria in the following months to meet their new Master and take in fresh recruits from Solarian stock. Her XX chromosomal make up providing a stable gene seed to swell the Legions ranks. Further, it became apparent that a growing number of Solarian recruits sported Pariah and Psyker genes. Forming two cadres to mold these emerging specializations. The Legion's name was also changed to that of the Sun Angels. In reference to ancient Solarian myth.

The 5th Legion since then has fought numerous campaigns from the Rangdan Xenocides to the purging of the Greenskin empire of Zaradar to name a few. Fighting alongside the Molten Sons and Lightning Bearers in dozens of wars and battles in the name of the Emperor.
Legion Organisation and Structure:
The Legion is structured into a number of Great Company's and independent specialist stand alone formations operating in parallel.

Legion Command
Legion Command represents the top level of the 5ths command and control. Centered around Vasilisa and translating her wishes into orders. The Legion Command is actuality more or less a General Staff in functionality and not entirely made up of Astartes. Expeditionary Fleet officers and liaisons, other Imperial organization representatives, and individuals of Vasilisa's favour can be found in the Legion Command. Astartes of Lord Commander rank are found here alongside various other General level officers for Army formations attached to the 5th Legion. Operating in parallel is the Bloodsworn a group of 9 Legionary Officers of Astartes stock who take a special blood oath with Vasilisa and operate as her closest Astartes confidants and advisors. Many a battle plan has been changed or altered due to their words to their master. The Bloodsworn are demarcated by the Bat symbol of the old Blood Lord heritage along with the lightning bolt and eagle of the Imperium.

Beneath the Legionary Command and above the Great Companies is the Aetherial Council in a de jure but not de facto fashion. The Council oversees important internal Legionary support function and dealing with requisitions, supply, and dispositions. While also handling many of the administratively top level decision making processes for The Realm of Valtmar.

The Great Company's
De facto beneath the Legionary Command are the fifty Great Companies. Their full roster puts them each at 10,000 Marines and headed by Praetor Maximus. The Great Companies are designed to function as self contained formations allowing the Legion a flexible approach to warfare. They are strategic level and structured to allow modular swapping of entire marine units between them to augment specific engagements rapidly. The Praetor Maximii are assisted by the Tribunii and Praetor Minoris (the Praetor's second in command). The Tribunii serving as the heads of the various Tagmata. The Tagmata being the equivalent of Battalions of 500-2,000 marines.

Company
Beneath the Great Company's and more tactical Tagmata are the Company's. Made up of approximately 100 Marines and serving as battlefield tactical units. Each Company specializing in a particular form of warfare but over fifty percent of the Legion focuses on spearhead strikes and surgical warfare. The Company's are commanded by Captains who are in turn assisted by Sergeants and specialists.

Legion Command Hierarchy:
Vasilisa
Lord Commander
Praetor Maximus
Praetor Minoris
Tribune
Captain
Sergeant
Marine
Novitiate (Top level recruit rank that often is sent on combat missions)
Initiate (recruits deployed to assist in secondary duties)
Aspirant (raw recruit in training)
Specialist Formations:

The Primarch's bodyguards

(Image)
The Evocati
Marines who have shown exemplary skill and determination may opt to join the Evocati. Both an honour unit and a special forces units comprised of Marines capable of operating for potentially long durations alone without Legionary support. They are also quite capable in groups or in their own units. Evocati are tasked with operations deemed atypical of the 5th Legion's modus operandi.
Legion Wargear:
The Legion makes use of various Crusade Pattern and emerging Maximus pattern suits. Their wargear is very typical of Space Marines towards the end of the second century of the Crusade. However, they do retain a number of Volkite and Solarian Psi-energy weapons.

The Empyrael Centuriata

The Legion's Psyker cadre

The Arcani
Astartes that possess the emergent but recessive pariah gene found in Vasilisa's gene code.
Legion Vehicles:
Full canon legionary load outs.
Legion Fleet:

The flagship of the 5th Legion is the Gloriana-class vessel The Vengeful Spirit. The Legion Fleet itself is comprised of fifteen Battlebarges and 43 Strike Cruisers in operation by the start of the 31st Millennium. Supported by a few hundred escorts and scout vessels. This of course is reinforced by elements of the Imperialis Armada, Solar Auxilia, and Army attached to the Legions operational zones. Notably the 13th Expeditionary Fleet which sports 220 ships ranging from three battleships to several grand cruisers, over three dozen cruisers, numerous frigates and escorts, to the various bulk transports making up the logistical component of the Expeditionary forces.
Legion Relics:

The Encarmine Blades
Blades forged of special Adamantium and worked with ancient archeotech. Only a dozen blades are in the Legion's possession and are wielded by the Primarchs bodyguards or for honour duties.

The Banner Vermillion

A banner from the Legions founding and upon it the earlies inscription of the 5th Legions campaigns and laurels.

Spear of Arpad

A powerful weapon capable of plasma discharges the weapon is an archeotech weapon currently in the Legion's reliquary.

Special shielding devices above the normal Rosarii capabilities. Approximately 17 exist in the Legion's position and are often trusted to specific officers of import.

Panoplies of Solaria

Ancient suits of armour that only after intense Mechanicus scrutiny for orthodoxy. These suits, rare as they come, are relics from the Dark Age and possess various advanced technologies that Legion artificers of yet to fully replicate. Such advancements include improved sensoria, communication, more efficient energy production by its internal power plant, resealable membranes, and a mix of alloy not entirely dissimilar to the Auramite of Custodes armour.

The Primarch
Name: Titus Ironborn
Alias: The Warden, The Hammer, The Stalwart
Appearance: Titus stands at just over twelve feet tall, and is powerfully built. He has a stern, serious face that matches his outward demeanor

Personality: Outwardly stoic, Titus is a logical and plain speaking person, never one for flattery. He possesses a sarcastic sense of humor that is hard to gauge even by those who know him. He is humble for a primarch.

Backstory: Scattered to the world of Voln, an advanced world with the ability for space-travel but constantly fighting wars against Orks, Titus was quickly recovered by the forces of one of the many Fortress Cities scattered across the planet. Recognized at once as something far greater to a normal human, he was taken into the care of the ruling council of the fortress-city of Iron Gate.

Raised by a council composed of the greatest engineers, builders, and commanders of Iron Gate, Titus naturally grew to excel in these fields. All during his early years the fortress cities of Voln were under constant siege by Orks, and as he came of age Titus joined the battle against the green tide. Fighting in the outskirts of Iron Gate and upon its walls on several occasional, Titus became a terrible foe to the Orks, defeating many Ork champions. As the years passed Titus rose through the ranks, becoming a hero and symbol of Iron Gate, even though he disliked the attention it brought.

A decade after being named the commander of all Iron Gate forces, Titus prepared for an offensive against the Orks, to drive them from the planet and reunite the fortress cities of Voln. The campaign was slow and methodical, with many fortresses being built, and having to build the infrastructure to support the offensive. The campaign took a decade and saw the unification of all fortress cities as they were liberated. The campaign ended when Titus lead the attack upon the last and mightiest Ork stronghold, the battle raging for an entire week, and ending as Titus slew the Ork Warboss with his personally forged war-hammer, Ork Bane.

Returning to Iron Gate in a miles long victory procession, Voln was on the cusp of a new age, and already space-fairing ships were being laid down now that all resources weren't used in defending against the vile Orks. Upon his return to Iron Gate, Titus went directly to see the council, only to find one last bloody scene within the council chambers. A hideous, slavering horror stood amidst the torn and mutilated corpses of the council, though with horror Titus realized that the horror before him had once been a council member, and with a rage he had never before felt, Titus battled and slew the horror.

Facing a possible new threat from those who were warp-touched, Titus made a decree that psykers were to be separated from the greater population and a new fortress city was built to house the psyker population, guarded by veterans of the world-spanning campaign.

A short era of peace reigned on Voln as expeditions were made and outposts established throughout the solar system. It was shortly after this that the Imperium came to Voln, and after an initial standoff between the forces, an agreement was reached and the Emperor met with Titus. After but a few hours Titus pledged Voln to the Emperor and Imperium. He was gifted the 11th Legion, the Imperial Wardens, which brought on more stock from Voln as their early campaigns with their Primarch began. Less then a decade after being united with the Imperium, the Wardens came across a vast and abandoned space fortress. After extensive sweeps of the vast construct, the Wardens and Mechanicum sought to bring the vat construct into service. They succeed, and the Emperor gifted what was dubbed the Phalanx to the Imperial Wardens.

As the Great Crusade continued the Wardens continued their conquests in the slow, methodical pace they were used too, their conquests not being as fast paced as other Legions, but suffering few casualties thanks to their preference of letting the enemy break their own backs on expertly prepared defenses. While Titus was personally pleased with the progress of his Legion, comments and remarks about the slowness of the Wardens progress eventually grated against Titus and his inner council enough that they decided to pull of something a bit more glorious and flashy then they usually did.

Upon coming across a small xenos interstellar empire calling itself the Hurox, spread across three star-systems and six worlds, Titus devised a plan to conquer all six planets simultaneously. After thoroughly destroying the xenos fleets the ground invasions began. The xenos proved to be far more brutal on the ground then they had been in space, but the invasions progressed slowly, even by Warden standards. However soon strings of setbacks that the Hurox shouldn't have been able to pull off began to plague the Wardens. Supply depots being destroyed, holes in their lines opening with no explanations or calls for aid by those units wiped out. The slow progress ground to a halt on most of the worlds. Unknown to Titus and the Wardens is that the Eldar had chosen this campaign to make the Imperium bleed and were aiding the Hurox and manipulating a far greater threat to attack the Wardens.

Several months into the invasions saw the beginning of total disaster. Three massive Ork fleets entered into each of the Hurox systems in rapid order, with no warning from the Wardens sentry ships. The Ork Waaagh smashed into the spread out fleets of the Wardens, and in the vast space battle taking place the Gloriana class battleship, Redoubt, was lost when its core exploded, though it had been lightly damaged and the Orks had no weapons that could pierce both the shields and armor of the Redoubt enough to hit the reactors. Under assault on all fronts by a renewed Hurox offensive and the Orks landing their own hordes, the Wardens retreated to their fortresses and strongholds, unable to reinforce each other. Normally this would not be much cause for concern, as the Wardens were masters of defensive warfare and their fortresses were the strongest, but with the Eldar continuing their unknown campaign against the Wardens it wasn't long until these fortresses started to fall. Titus put out an urgent call for aid, and was answered by 5th Legion and the Emperor himself.

With the reinforcements the campaign was swiftly decided in favor of the Imperium, but the losses to the Imperial Wardens was devastating. Almost a hundred thousand Astartes were killed, maimed, or injured. Millions of Imperial Army troops were dead. For this disgrace Titus was publicity censured by the Emperor, and the Imperial Wardens were relegated to rear-echelon and non-critical duties. For several decades the Imperial Wardens have filled this role, building vast and awe inspiring cities and fortresses, but still bearing the shame of censure. Titus rightfully placed the blame entirely on himself, and has over the decades developed a stoic fatalism that has spread to his legion as well. One practice taken up by the Legion is that the right pauldrons on their armor has been painted black, as well as helmets being worn at all times when not among themselves, as the Titus and the Legion consider themselves as unworthy of laying their own eyes upon the Emperor or other Primarchs, in person or simple iconography.

War Gear:

Ork Bane
A heavy thunder-hammer crafted by Titus' own hands

The Legion
Numeration: XI (11th)
Primogenitor: Titus Ironborn
Noteworthy Domains:
Voln, adoptive home-world of Titus Ironborn, and it's domain, which has expanded to about twenty star-systems around Voln, conquered and colonized both before and after unification with the Imperium.

The Bulwark, a massive mobile battle-station that acts as the campaign headquarters for the Legion

Combat Doctrine: Hammer and Anvil tactics. The Wardens are experts in defensive combat and master builders, but they are also experts in melee combat. When possible they let the enemy smash against their defenses, and then attack with precise, but brutal, application of CQB

Appearance: Primarily white and gold with the right pauldrons painted black

Origins and History: Originating on Terra, the XI Legion swiftly became known for its methodical and defensive approach to warfare, opting to allow enemy forces to shatter against their defenses before going on the offensive to shatter or totally wipe out their foes, just as their lost Primarch did upon Voln. While their battles were slower won then others, they often suffered fewer casualties as a result.

Upon being reunited with their Primarch very little changed within the Legion, as Titus Ironborn had honed his own military strategy along the same lines, though in the coming years Titus would employ the Imperial Army in a much more active way then other legions, using them as front line soldiers alongside his legion on a far more regular and larger scale.

Early on in their first campaign they came across the massive, abandoned stellar fortress of what they would come to call the Phalanx. After thorough investigation of the massive station, and with the Emperors blessing, Titus took the Phalanx as the heart of his campaign force.

Over their campaigns, the Imperial Wardens became known for not just being slow and methodical conquerors, but also as builders. After each campaign upon a world or system being made compliant, no more then a company of the Wardens would be left behind for around a year to repair the damages or lay the foundations for future cities and infrastructure, as well as each world deemed important enough having a mighty fortress built to serve the garrison forces.

Legion Organisation and Structure:
The Legions current strength sits at 175,000 Astartes strong, with millions of Imperial Army troops employed across the expeditions campaigns and conquered world, as front line soldiers as well as garrisons.
Legion Command Hierarchy:
Titus Ironborn
Battle Captains (Two, each over-seeing half of the legion)
The Iron Council, made up of the legions captains and figures from the Imperial Army
Captain
Lieutenant
Sergeant
Battle Brother
Initiate

Specialist Formations:

Legion Wargear:

Standard wargear, with an uncommon amount of high-tier melee weapons

Legion Vehicles:

Standard vehicles, though most have been modified with additional armor and weapons when possible

Legion Fleet:
The Phalanx
6 Battleships
12 Battlebarges
8 Grand cruisers
140 Cruisers (50 heavy, 90 light)
500 Escort ships of various classes
Dozens of other support craft, including Imperial Army troop transports, supply haulers, etc.

Legion Relics:

The Legion Auxilia
Auxilia Name: Voln Guard
Combat Doctrine: Massed and unrelenting assaults with heavy artillery support and massed armored formations
Appearance: Standard Troops
Heavy assault troops
Origins and History: The Voln Guard is a holdover from Volns pre-unification days, forged out of centuries of brutal warfare against the Ork infestation of Voln. Thanks to the highly organized, and militarized society on Voln, the Imperium was happy for Voln to continue these traditions, and Voln has gone on to supply countless soldiers to the Great Crusade, with two full Forge Worlds of the Adeptus Mechanicus founded in start-systems near to Voln to support its formations.

Auxilia Organisation and Structure: The Voln Guard is broken down into three chief elements, land elements, naval elements, and the in-house disciplinary organization, the Voln Commissariat, which itself is a hold-over from pre-unification and still allowed to operate outside the authority of the Discipline Masters within Voln formations.
Auxilia Command Hierarchy:
Voln High Command/Lord Generals
Various Staff officers that act liaison between the senior ranks headquarters
Corps Commander, a rank that can be formed and dissolved rapidly when two or more Regiments
Colonels
Major
Captain
Lieutenant
Sergeant
Enlisted ranks

Specialist Formations: Voln Heavy Assault Troops; The cream of the crop from the Voln Guard are formed into Heavy Assault units, and provided with better gear then the average Voln trooper, including full environmental protection, heavy carapace armor, and a slew of other gear. As the name implies, Heavy Assault troops are used in the heaviest and most vital fighting on a front, and can suffer horrendous casualties as a result.
Auxilia Wargear: The Voln Guard generally utilizes base Imperial gear, though have phased out auto-guns for las-rifles in all formations, other then heavy-caliber auto-guns for support weapons.

Auxilia Vehicles: The Voln Guard makes use of a high number of super heavy vehicles, chiefly in the form of the Baneblade series of tanks. They also make use of a home-designed MBT, the Ironbreaker, as their standard armor.

Auxilia Fleet: The fleets of the Voln Guard are significant, with a large number of heavy cruisers making up the backbone of the overall fleet. As Voln is a strategic world, and has two vastly important Forge Worlds in close proximity, the Voln Home Fleet is made up of hundreds of ships, of all tonnage. It is common practice for segments of the Home Fleet to be rotated with segments of expeditionary fleets, which provides the Home Fleet with veterans, and allows the expeditionary fleets the chance to rearm and rebuild their numbers.

The Primarch
Name: Clausewitz
Alias: "Clause" "The Scholar"
Appearance: Generally Handsome by most standards, with a head of blond hair kept shaved close, fair skin, a rather square set jaw and generally masculine facial features that make up many of his bothers. His eyes are a distinctive, icy blue with a near constant, ever so slight squint to them.

Personality: Rather distant, "head in the clouds" type. His mind is always on something, working a problem. This has led to a bad personal habit to zone out during conversations, while still mentally taking note of important things and topics. Rather Polite and friendly, even to potential enemies, but an ardent and vocal supporter of Humanity's birthright to the Galaxy and support of his Father's Crusade. In times of combat, his mood shifts to something unlike his brothers and sister. He does not rage, does not bellow with anger and roar litanies to his fathers greatness, he becomes something akin to a thinking computer, with every movement, every strike, every tactical order weighed mathematically in his mind in a never ending game of numbers and percentages.

Despite this, he cares greatly for his "siblings", even if they don't share a similar opinion of him.
Backstory:

Parsarius was like many worlds, a former technologically advanced world filled with glimmering, glittering cities filled with wonders of science and technology. When the "Maelstrom" (The Local term for the Old Night) came, this high level of technology ended up being it's undoing. By the time The unnamed "Star Child" arrived on the world, it's Human inhabitants had become rather subservient to the various Eldari Corsairs and raiders that would plunder and loot the world of it's human for use in their dark realms. They had, rather intelligently, taken to destroying cashes of knowledge and materials, everything from Data Storage devises, to scraps of old books and manuals.

Being found by one of the few "safe" communities living in the hidden ruins of an old library, Clause had the rare luxury of being able to read a vast amount of tomes and books. As with all Primarchs, he grew quickly, though for reasons since unknown, he never grew to the height that would be common place among his kin. Despite this, he was rather well endowed in all manners of the Human form, quickly becoming a sought after target by the slavers and flesh warpers. He took his by then vast bank of largely encyclopedic knowledge and began to apply much of it to his own, personal impromptu Guerrilla campaign.

He would begin to turn the tables on these "Eldari" as they called them selves, the so called masters of pain and torment. He showed them the folly of their ways more then once. How ever, he was but one man, even is he was a primarch, mathematically speaking he understood his chances of some form of major lasting success were slim and so began to think. It was around the time he began to experiment with the Eldari's weapons that he had the fortune of coming across an ancient vault of sorts, were old artifacts and items of Non-human Origin were stored.

It was there he came across "The Quill". It was a spear, one of such an ancient and forgotten origin that not even the barely functioning archives of the vault could reveal any information on it's makers. It seemed to awaken to his touch, to hum with power he could not yet understand. He soon found out that, through some means he was not familiar with, the spear carried with it immense electrical output that could be discharged upon contact.

Actually having a weapon capable of fighting the Slavers, he began to grow his resistance movement, to begin to properly fight back against the insidious race that had terrorized him and his adoptive kin for decades. Soon his little resistance movement would catch steam and begin to "snowball", leading to ever increasing numbers of willing fighters as Eldari retaliation mounted. Soon enough, a great revolt took place, one Clause would personally lead and would see the destruction of the ancient gateway, leaving a sizable Eldari colony stuck on the world of Parsarius. Just as it would seem he would be in for the long war, aid came. The Emperor and his children, his siblings, would enter the system, drawn to the massive energy spike of a destructing webway gate.

Led by the women he would soon learn to be his elder sister, a legion of Astartes made planet fall, relived the resistance fighters, and soon set forth in liberating the world from the Eldari occupation. With his true origins being laid bare to him by the Emperor and Vasilisa Sanguina, he would take his place as Primarch of his legion, with his Gene seed forming the basis for the "Burning Scrolls" legion.

War Gear:
The Quill
Humorously named after an old saying from a book he read long ago, the Quill is a spear of considerable age. Perfectly balanced, and with a elongated, bladed edge the seems to never loose it's sharpness, the spear's main power comes from...well, power. While Clause seems to have no will over the weapon's ability to charge and discharge electricity, he has run tests with charging the weapon with out side electrical sources and have come to the conclusion the weapon will only release that stored charge when the blade comes in to contact with something, the rest of the pole seemingly insulated, protecting the wielder.

The Judge
His chief side arm, he originally crafted a prototype version of this weapon during his time on Parsarius. When given access to modern Bolt weapon technology, he created a second, much more potent version of the weapon able to fire the full series of .75 Bolt rounds currently in use. In a more simplified explanation, it is a large, 5 shot DA/SA revolver with a swing out cylinder. It is custom built for his hand, and often wont fit right in the grasp of others.

His armor.
Putting his knowledge of materials and crafting to use, aided by the much more modern and all together better materials then what he had available to him on his home world, he has custom fitted and augmented his own personal armor. His helmet is customized to his liking, with a custom tuned and augmented auspex suite, and similar level of protection to his siblings armor, while being able to shave off 10% of the original weight of the set.

The Legion
Numeration: XII / 12
Primogenitor: Clausewitz
Noteworthy Domains: The Forest world of Parsarius, it's twin moons.
Combat Doctrine: Heavy Fire support / Energy Weaponry
Appearance: Don't have an image
The Average Astartes of the Burning Scrolls Legion would apear much in the same to many other legions, with the personalized colors of Garnet and Gold, representing the Colors of their primearch.

Origins and History: Formed out of the surviving members of his resistance movement, and since then, many of their then young children, they have spent the time since their creation helping to defend and tame their home world, with it only recently been declared safe enough for the Legion to sally forth and join their father on his Great Crusade.
Legion Organisation and Structure: Currently sitting at around 15,000 Astartes and around 150,000 support personal in the form of standard Humans. With 500 men Per company, and 6 companies total, the Burning Scrolls are among the smallest of their kind in the blossoming Imperium. Due to the Legion's small number compared to the vast armies of his siblings, The Burning Scrolls do make use of Armed Human "Guardsmen", armed for the most part with the Standard Imperial Las-rifle, and acting as supporting units to squads of Astartes.

With 500 Astartes per company (with around 1200 Human troops per company) this breaks down in to roughly 20 25 men squads of Astartes per company, with the attached Human troops acting as their own autonomous unit.

1st Company - Led by Clause him self, this company is notable for being A: the best of the Legion in both combat and technological development, and B: Heavily armed with Volkite based weaponry as opposed to the common Plasma based counterparts. The 1st Company's Human troops are similarly up armed with Hellguns and thicker, more protective armor.
2nd Company - Led by Clause's Second in command, Erwin Lusarius, the 2nd Company is more commonly armed with the Burning Scrolls issued Plasma rifles and bolt pistols.
3rd Company - Similar to the 2nd Company.
4th Company - Similar to the 2nd Company.
5th Company - Led by a Senior Sargent, the 5th Company is commonly known as "The Green Bunch" do to it's nature as mostly being comprised of Neophytes, still in training and yet to receive their plasma weaponry.
6th Company - Led by "Mad Jack", a Veteran Sargent, this company contains most of the Legion's "Plasma Caster" Shock troops.
This continues on to a total of 30 companies.

Legion Command Hierarchy:
Clausewitz, primarch and current leader
^
Erwin Lusarius - 2IC, leader of the 2nd Company

Olivia Castus, Captain of the Arethusa's Wrath

Specialist Formations:"Plasma Casters" - The most recent and (in)famous development to come out of the Burning Scrolls Legion, these shock troops make use of "Multi-barreled Rotary Plasma Casters". Essentially a heavy duty Plasma Cannon fitted with a rotating assembly, pack pack power sources, and 6 magnetized barrels, allows these shock troops to put down streams of High energy suppressing fire potent against all but heavily armored tanks.

Legion Wargear:
"Bedwin" pattern Plasma Rifles - Standard Imperial rifles fitted with a more efficient cooling system, this increases their effective rate of fire and power cell capacity.
"Multi-Barreled Rotary Plasma Caster" - The above stated Plasma based suppression weapon, with a much more considerably rebuilt cooling system, rotating barreled assembly, and back pack mounted battery pack.
"Bedwin-Clause" Pattern Volkite Charger and Caliver - Other then a slight modification to it's cooling system, fairly standard Imperial issued Volkite weaponry.

Legion Vehicles:
They make use of the Stormbird Almost exclusively, as well as vary limited numbers of Executioner Pattern Predator tanks, along side more standard Rhino Transports.
For the exact list, see the discord.
Legion Fleet:

Battle Line
Arethusa's Wrath - Gloriana Class Battleship, outfitted with turreted, twin barreled Godsbane Lance batteries and rebuilt power generation facilities to compensate.

x2 Astartes battle Barges
x8 Strike Cruisers
x1 Apocalypse Class lance Battleship
x3 Lunar Class Cruisers
x3 Gothic Class Cruisers

Escort Picket
x6 Dauntless Class Light cruisers
x8 Endurance Class Lance Cruisers
x4 Defiance class light carriers

Scouting/Tripwire Force
x15 Cobra Class Destroyers
x6 Widowmaker Class Scout ships

Legion Relics:

Arethusa's Banner

Arguably the sole real relic of the Legion, it was a personalized banner and battle standard knit by the then Lover of Clause, a former slave women by the name of Arethusa. She would die in the latter stages of the rebellion, fighting along side her lover and his kin at the front of the battle. Sewn in as the center of the legion's larger battle standard, it is carried in to battle with the Legion's 1st Company.

Is this free to app for? If so, I'd love to reserve a primarch/Legion slot.

If i'm allowed to hop in, Is this game a free for all? In terms of, will players dictate events or create their own foreign threats, or will the OP take hold of providing the primary foreign threats

Will the OP handle abd introduce main Chaos influences or is this also for the players themselves to play with and introduce/ignore by themselves?

Yes, we are open.

The RP is narrative driven, all on the same side for now though there will be clashing personalities between Primarchs. Players will have some control on what they face, so long as its lore friendly and talked over with the OPs.

The Arch Traitor is still to be decided, though it is up to players to choose if they stick as loyalist or turn traitor.

Name: Gaelin Rodarch
Alias: The Raven King
Age: 156
Appearance:
Image

Organization Character Belongs to: Independent
Rank and Titles: Ard Righ (High King) of Calbernia, Lord Commander, Rogue Trader Militant
Personality: Reserved,
Backstory: Rodarch was the reigning ruler, or High King, of the planet of Calbernia. His realm extended to neighbouring systems in the local star cluster and was collectively called the Commonwealth of Calbernia. The Commonwealth had arisen following the Age of Strife as the neighbouring systems turned to one another for mutual protection, though Calbernia was the most powerful and dominant world and thus gave it's name to the star empire.

For centuries the High Kings, and Queens, of Calbernia were more concerned with defending their realm against Xenos marauders. Though it did manage to slowly it's influence, either by trading with nearby systems or simply annexing them. Gradually the Commonwealth began to spread beyond the star cluster it called home, warp storms permitting, seeking new worlds to trade with or to exploit for resources. As M30 drew to a close, the Commonwealth started to hear whispers and rumours from it's trading partners of a host that had marched forth from distant and half-forgotten Terra. These rumours spoke of an army of armour-clad giants besting all that dared to oppose it, led by a warlord who called himself the Emperor and Master of Mankind.

By this time Rodarch was entering his eighth decade as High King and gave orders for more information to be gathered on this so-called 'Terran Legion'. Within month Rodarch had confirmation that the rumours were true and that a great army had indeed set out from Terra to reclaim the galaxy for humanity. However, Calbernia laid in the path of the advancing horde and Rodarch severely doubted his realm's ability to resist such a vast host. For several days he mulled upon the issue before finally giving orders for a small fleet to be assembled.

He was going to meet the self-proclaimed Master of Mankind.

A few weeks later he had made contact with the Terrans and escorted to the latest world brought into the fold of the fledging Imperium, a world only recently brought under Compliance and still bearing the scars of battle. It was here that Rodarch finally laid eyes on Him, stranding ahead and towering over His mighty warriors. Rodarch was brought before Him and almost immediately swore fealty of both himself and Calbernia to the Lord of Terra. The two men talked for a time before Rodarch was granted the title of Rogue Trader Militant, given a Warrant of Trade and tasked with serving the Emperor by scouting ahead of His Great Crusade to reclaim the stars for mankind.

Skills and Experience/Career Summary:

Was groomed for kingship from a young age, required to be familiar with both military and diplomatic matters alike. Since becoming a Rogue Trader Militant, he's been able to greatly enhance his military experience particularly when it comes to void warfare. Smart enough to at least listen to Imperial expertise on matters or situations that he is not experienced with.

Personal Accoutrements of import:

Psy-Raven - The raven is of special significance to Calbernian culture, used down the centuries as the personal symbol of the High Kings and Queens. In recognition of this, Rodarch was gifted a psy-raven not long after he swore loyalty to the Emperor and it was accompanied him ever since.

Morrigan's Wrath - Rodarch's flagship, a Lunar-class Cruiser received after swearing fealty to the Emperor and entering into Imperial service. It is accompanied by a flotilla of escorts and other smaller vessels.

The Primarch
Name: Eyrian Manuxus
Alias: The Eighth Son, Grand-master of the 8th, King of Calmora
Appearance: he stands at 10 feet exactly
Image

Personality: Eyrian is an honorable and dutiful son, he does what is required of him by his father the emperor, even if it brings a sense of distaste to him. Eyrian is a scholar at heart and dislikes warfare, but he knows it to be the lesser evil needed to achieve the greater good. Eyrian is a stubborn man, when he puts his formidable mind to accomplishing something, it will be accomplished or he will die trying.
Backstory:
Eyrian, the 8th son of the Emperor was scattered like his siblings before the great crusade. Stolen from his father's laboratory by the forces of chaos and thrown across the galaxy to land upon his homeworld of Calmora. Calmora was a semi civilized world that had retained some technology while losing other aspects of it. But by the time Eyrian landed upon Calmora, the beautiful world had been reduced to a medieval era world. Warlords vied for control of the world as wars were raged across Calmora.

Eyrian landed one fine day on Calmora and was adopted by a lesser noble. He soon grew to be massive and possess an intellect that far surpassed anyone on the planet. This intellect, mixed with military prowess soon saw Eyrian take control of the world. An age of peace and prosperity began upon Calmora as Eyrians rule went on, but Eyrian always stressed that he believed the best man or woman should rule, and that if anyone felt that they could best him then he would swear himself to them. This lead to an annual festival of wits and brawn with the best of them facing Eyrian as champion.

One year, a man appeared, he came in the form of a hermit. He easily made his way through his competition in the festival, and rumors began to fly that maybe the Elk King had finally met his match. When the Hermit and the King finally faced off against each other in the first of three competitions, a battle of wits, the wise men declared it a draw, though Eyrian has been heard to say that the Hermit had bested him.

The next battle was one of strategy, a simple war game popular on Calmora called Ludus. The Hermit showed himself to be an amazing strategist, luring in the Primarch and slaughtering his game pieces. The Hermit was the winner of this match so it all came down to the duel.

But as the two men faced each other across the duelling grounds, a light began to emit from the Hermit, forcing all in attendance to look away, all except Eyrian. When the light faded away, standing in the place of the Hermit was a tall man, as tall as Eyrian, bedecked in golden armor. He named himself the Emperor of Mankind, and claimed Eyrian as his long lost son. Eyrian smiled at the man before assuming a combative stance, politely asking for the Emperor the back this claim in combat.
The battle between the two was long and hard, a fight that still echoes in the Legends of Calmora. A battle of momentum as each God like being seemed to dance. But in the end, the father struck down the son and Eyrian swore his allegiance seconds later. He then left with his father, taking his place as the leader of the 8th Legion of Adeptus Astartes.

War Gear:

Duty:
A master crafted Power sword which was forged ages past upon mars. It was a gift to Eyrian from the mechanicus upon him being found by his father the emperor and put in his rightful place as leader of the 8th legion. Eyrian holds the blade in one hand as he battles, using it as a lesser man might use it two handed.
Courage/Honor:
Powerful bolters built into the Grandmasters gauntlets. Should Duty ever prove unable to reach the enemies of the imperium, then left hand of courage and the right hand of honor shall be used to smite the unworthy.

The Legion
Numeration: VIII Legion, Sons of Calmora
Primogenitor: Eyrian Manuxus
Noteworthy Domains: Calmora and the surrounding systems
Combat Doctrine: Spearhead tactics, Close Quarters, Shock and Awe
Appearance:
Image

Origins and History:
The 8th Legion, otherwise known as the Sons of Calmora, were among the original 20 legions that set forth upon the Great Crusade.

Eyrian, the Grand-Master, and Primarch of the Eight was found by the Emperor a short time into the Crusade. The Eighth celebrated long after his recovery as their gene father was recovered, and could only wait for him to be assigned to them. When he did, he immediately began reforming the Legion, assigning new ranks and installing the idea of chivalry into the Legion.

The Legion has since been known for their doctrine of Close Quarters Combat and for their prioritizing the protection of the civilian population of Humanity. This prioritization seems to has been indoctrinated into the spirit of the astartes themselves and whole missions have been put on standby so civilians could be safely evacuated.

Currently the Legion consists of 120,000 marines split into 12 formations of 10,000 marines called Great Companies. Each Great Company consists of 10 companies that consist of 1,000 marines which are split into platoons of 100 and squads of 20.
Legion Organisation and Structure:
Legion Command Hierarchy:
The Grandmaster (Eyrian)
Castellan (Lord Commander)
Lord (Captain)
Sir Knight (Sergeant)
Squire (Common Marine)
Men at Arms (Fresh Marines)
Specialist Formations:
Knights Calmora
The Elite Bodyguard of Eyrian, these marines are the best of the best. They are armed with the latest Mark IV armor, Refractor shields, power weapons, and wrist mounted bolters. A small group of them, those that are the direct bodyguards, are also armed with boarding shields. These men are chosen from the best Knights Errant and are put through a secondary grueling training program to make sure they are up to the task. These are the only men outside the Superheavy squads in each company that wear terminator armor.
Image

Knights Errant:
The shocktroopers of the 8th legion, like the Knights of the Elk these are the Marines of the 8th known for their focus upon melee combat. Each Knight is a excellent swordsman and these are the men that clear stiff enemy fortifications, relying upon their strong refractor shields (the only group of the space marines to have them other than the Knights of the Elk) to carry them past the fire of their enemies and to carry them within striking distance. When swords can not carry the battle alone, each Knight carries a bolter on their hip. Each great company has 500 Knights Errant, they are split into strike squads of 50 marines.
Image

Legion Wargear:
Standard Wargear, larger amounts of heavy bolters, rocket launchers, flamers, and melta cannons.
Legion Vehicles:
Standard Vehicles with a heavier reliance on anti-infantry.
Legion Fleet:
The Fleet of the 8th legion is a formidable force, led by the Gloriana class battleship Honors Blade it boasts 24 battlebarges, not including the flagship, and several dozens of other cruisers, and hundreds of escort ships.
Legion Relics:
The Elk Standard

A green banner with the personal sigil of Eyrian upon it. It is carried by the Elk Knights whenever they go into battle.

The Primarch
Image

Name: Creatrix
Alias: Omnissiah’s Herald, Light Child, Forgefather
Appearance:
Standing at 8’, short for a Primarch to say the least, Creatrix is impassive and unreadable to all. Vox-arrays replace whatever voice that once might have been spoken while the being never leaves the personally crafted Power Armor underneath crimson, Martian robes. The face of a Tech-Priest, green optics in the night, conceals what once might have been face, all while Mechadendrites, tipped with claws and transonic razors, festoon the body and armor. Servo-skulls constantly attend to the Primarch, many with mere optics, others with integrated bolt pistols, and the hum of electric fury is omnipresent among Creatrix.
Personality:
Quiet, emotionless, and undeniably callous, Creatrix is the engineer who simply creates wonders, the strategist who simply calculates loss-gain ratios, the tasker who expects excellence without demanding it. All beings are cogs in that great machine of the Imperium, from the lowliest Servitor to even Primarchs, and all have a duty to perform. Creatrix, at best, appreciates the skills of those about him, rarely mentioning the faults of those same, and holds little empathy for brothers, sisters, or father. Built as a weapon, Creatrix gives blessed little effort in maintaining a facade as a person or, worse, as a family member.
Backstory:
Spirited away by the machinations of Chaos to the farthest, most distant worlds within those counted, the child who would be known as Creatrix fell in that pod upon Solum. It’s people were descendents of the first travelers, had kept those traditions well. Engineers, craftsmen, and artisans, theirs was a daily war against what was referred to as the Endless Night. Solum’s orbit and rotation held that at irregular intervals the planet would be plunged into a frozen tundra, extended so far out as it was and with the rotation so slow, certain portions of the planet were placed into that abyss. Monsters of Chaos ilk would roam such lands, preying upon anything that moved, frequently what would not move, and one-another. Creatrix, as befits Chaos’s especially light humor, would be placed in the midst of this area at the start of such a period.

As a child, he lived there for seven months before the first human scouts came upon that gift. Already large enough to seem seven years old, Creatrix’s rockside home had been fortified against the horrors in the night, though the young Primarch did not emerge unscathed. Countless wounds had rendered Creatrix nearly immobile, the loss of a leg at such a young age crippling to say the least, and another arm had been splintered by the arm of a Warp beast. Taking the feverish being in, the scouts and healers were impressed by the foreigner’s ability to heal; it took blessed little time for Creatrix to awake and become sensible of all, blessed little for the other, innumerable minor wounds to heal even without treatment, yet the leg and arm refused command, refused to be healed by the ministrations of the doctors and surgeons. As a result, Creatrix would lose that arm and that leg, receiving instead a pair of cybernetics from the settlement. They were crude, as would be expected by any replacement from the spinworld colonies, yet even with such impediments the Emperor’s Child would not be dissuaded from the task. A consummate builder, Creatrix spent long hours under the direct tutelage of the engineers and workmen of the host, learning the intricate secrets of steel and circuit, learning that which can be created and designed. The Primarch spent time afield, too, aware of the direct need to build in preparation for that which would one day come. Walls and towers would be built by those hands, and moats as well, and in this Creatrix found some measure of solace.

In time, however, even Chaos’s patience for the Emperor’s arrival waned. Decades had passed and none had come, yet the Emperor’s Child had built much and learned much. The Endless Night had claimed much of Creatrix’s body, for every excursion seemed to hold a new terror to claim and destroy, every journey a question and query for more. Creatrix had become convinced that secrets could be unearthed in the wastelands where sun dared not touch, convinced that something might be gleaned there which would prove to be their final salvation. The crafter perfected what had been learned all those years before, perfected such that Creatrix then wore crude Power Armor such as might be seen in the Unification Wars which the child did not know, and in those hands the child bore rifle and blade. And yet, for all these trials and tribulations, for all the slow chiseling away at the Primarch, Chaos grew unsatisfied in it’s investment.

The harshest Night came, terrors and Warpspawn the size of buildings roaming not only those wastes but coming in vast hordes against the settlements. For a month, the skies wept blood day and night, and the red-hued icicles rained down against the settlements of Solum. Then came the Daemons, falling from the sky, and war engulfed the whole of the planet. Rallying what few the Primarch could, it was a desperate time as the planet held no scale of industry to arm the common man, the common man held no strength of will, and Solum seemed to be upon that brink. Only the strongest might survive, bolstered by salvaged technology and the psalms of the engineers who dutifully repaired their armor. Against the horde, Creatrix lead these souls, and against them many more would die. It would only be through another’s intervention that the planet as a whole would be saved, only when the Emperor’s Child was upon the brink of death that the Savior of Man stepped down from his lofty heavens. Warships filled the sky and armor-clad behemoths stepped down from landers, all led by what was only described as the most majestic being to grace all. The Emperor found his child in surgery, more than half of that body encased in crude cybernetics, face a mask of bandages and prosthetics. For the common courtesy in keeping his child alive, for the faith the population of Solum had in their leader, the Emperor of Man would take Creatrix away in the gleaming battleship before subjecting the planet to a merciless orbital bombardment by Cyclonic Torpedo. At the time, the planet was nearly fully in the grip of Chaos, holding only a few bastions of humanity, and even there human life meant so little. People had turned to the strength of iron and steel in their desperation, had turned to fierce ritual and blasphemy to find faith in something, anything. The Mechanicum would tolerate no heresy upon its watch and the Emperor would tolerate no Chaos taint to be known upon the very homeworld of one of his children. The whole of the planet would be deemed null, a Damnatio Memoriae placed against it. Such was the Emperor’s Mercy.

Taken to Mars, Creatrix was restored in the time-honored traditions of the Martian priesthood. The strength in steel and faith gave new vigor to those ruined bones and muscles, the failure of mere eyes falling to optical arrays and augury sensors with which one might view in the world a new light. Of course, additions were made to the usual aspects and the original gift given to the Forgefather would be a suit of Powered Armor integrated into that very flesh. When Creatrix awoke, it would be with some recollection of Solum as it had been prior, yet some portions of that memory had been changed. Daemons had overrun the planet in whole, killing all the Primarch once knew as friend. And yet, despite this all, it would be forbidden for the Primarch to leave. The Tech-Priests had give such gifts to the Emperor’s Child not out of their benevolence but as merely another trade; they wished for at least one Primarch to represent their interests at the highest levels, even higher than the Fabricator-General, and so Creatrix would be inducted into that same priesthood. The child learned of the Machine Spirit, of the Omnissiah itself and of the favored champions of that Machine God, learned of the proper ways of build and construct. In time, such learnings would even harken back to the little rituals given upon Solum, though of this Creatrix would never speak. Such things were better left in the shadows. Following two years upon Mars, Creatrix was instructed to accompany a Magos Dominus and the Skitarii Legions which he led, and such the Primarch did for some time. It was expected that the Primarchs would lead humanity’s finest forces into battle and, in this, the priesthood intended for their pupil to bring no dishonor to Mars itself. The Omnissiah would tolerate no such failure. Creatrix was instilled with the competence of such a commander, of the unyielding expectation for troops to perform as they should and in no other way, of the expectation for troops to perform for the entirety of a campaign. In just four months time, they had put two systems under the Omnissiah’s heel and the Magos was satisfied in the skills and abilities of the Primarch he could call son. Creatrix would, finally, be introduced to the Legion which was named birthright.

Creatrix found the XX Legion a brutal lot, murderous in their furious intent. They were lovers of the close combat, of the bloodied armor, taking after their Thunder Warrior heritage with a pride yet unseen. They found their mechanical master to be unlikely, the Chapter Master himself challenging the right of the Emperor’s Child to command men when one could not even tell if Creatrix was human anymore. As could be expected, the priest queried if they would submit to command in emotionless vox-tones. A perhaps would be given, perhaps if it could be proven the ability to lead and fight was shown. And so, Creatrix challenged that same Chapter Master to combat, blade against blade, and killed the rebellious man for his insolence. The changes to the XX Legion was disconcerting to say the least, rapidly changing from masters of the close quarters to the finest riflemen, to architects and siege-engineers without peer. Those who could not pass the training given were given to other Legions, stripped of their old honors to earn new honors alongside their new battle-brothers, as Creatrix believed that everything which had come before lacked honor, had been performed in vainglory, and deserved to be forgotten. The ranks of the XX Legion culled of the incapable, it committed to the Great Crusade alongside the others.
War Gear:
    Fremitus, Omnissian Power Axe
    Susurro, Power Knife
Measuring just a foot in length, this slender blade betrays it’s true power by the crackle and snap in the air when activated. What would normally be a hazy blue field about the blade is instead a maelstrom of crackling, potent energy, easily able to rend the strongest armor, and such is it’s strength that for those unarmored it may even reach out some few feet with bolts of searing energy. The scabbard itself is reinforced to, if some unforeseen strife might afflict the blade and give it reason to activate when sheathed, contain the knife. Always kept hidden in the robes of Creatrix, this blade is a small guarantee of safety even amongst the most guarded of the Imperium.
    Transuranic Arquebus
The Primarch’s chief weapon, the Arquebus gives the ease and capability to remove troublesome, larger foes from the battlefield with singular shots. It remains unmodified, as the power of such rifles is uncontested and needs no magnification.
    Querella, Flechette Blaster
Modified under the blessings of the Mechanicum, this weapon fires at an unusually high rate even among others of its ilk, as well as firing a unique payload. What would otherwise be simple steel darts are instead depleted transuranium, giving the pistol the capability to shred even lightly armored enemies at close quarters. The magazine is, as a result of this, likewise enlarged to accomodate a double drum and the frame reinforced to account for weight and the stress of firing.
    Power Armor
Lighter than most any other suits of Powered Armor, this piece of masterwork crafted adamantium lacks the oversized pauldrons of its compatriots in exchange for a greater breadth of motion. Such is the case that most who are unaware would think of Creatrix as unarmored, save for possibly a Conversion Field, but this is plainly untrue. This armor extends to cover the wearers head as well, with a helmet integrated into the facial optics of a traditional Martian priest. Highly advanced augur systems enable environmental and battlefield readings at a continuous, instant rate, giving every round fired or las-shot loosed its own trajectory and origin in such readings, and such information is thereby automatically downloaded to other nearby units, of which is then distributed further. Vox systems give the Primarch full control over the Legion and its accompanying troops. Instead of the usual Conversion Field, Creatrix is protected by a powerful Repulsor Grid integrated directly into the armor.

Numeration: XX Legion, Void Tyrants
Primogenitor: Creatrix
Noteworthy Domains: Fleet-BasedCombat Doctrine:
Rarely employed as whole units, the Void Tyrants instead hold a preference towards inserting into combat alongside other Space Marines, Skitarii Legions, or Imperial Army. In this, they are able to gain the upper hand through surprise, acting as snipers, advance scouts, and demolitionists. With Galvanic Rifles and Transuranic Arquebuses, they engage at preferably long distances, penetrating enemy armor and infantry with ease. When acting as whole units, they operate more akin to a group of skirmishers on the hunt than Legionaries on the charge. Harassing actions, elimination of enemy command structures, and denial of favorable maneuver through demolition actions on key points of movement are all hallmarks of the Void Tyrants. When attacking the enemy the Legion engages at a measured pace, much in the vein of the Skitarii, applying a constant pressure.

The XX Legion takes special care to prioritize exceptionally valuable infrastructure, manufactorums, and power generation facilities, protecting these to ensure that a combat does not completely go to waste or a defended planet require complete restoration. Their protectiveness extends to a minor degree to the actual population of a planet, though no hesitation is given whether to save a Mechanicus enclave or a group of hivers. Most civil authority holds the understanding that placing their citizenry among or within such pieces of infrastructure will save them, an act which the Void Tyrants prefer to the alternative. When on the defensive the XX Legion will place forces both in direct fortification at the guarded site as well as farther in the rear lines as snipers and to provide counter battery fire.
Appearance:
Armored in midnight black with minor white trim, the heraldry of the Void Tyrants is not immediately notable. They do not practice the method of Service Studs, instead simply keeping record of the achievements of the Legionaries and relying on the personal understanding between Legionaries to know precisely how long a Legionary has been in service. The armor of most XX Legion is notable for having a higher degree of modification for the integration of augur systems than many other Legions, as well as the vast majority of Legionaries employing servo-skulls for spotter duties. It should be noted that most Legionaries of the XX keep some form of religious iconography in regards to the Omnissiah, though most of these are simple, small cogs upon a chain. Underneath the armor the Legionary is commonly bald or with close cut hair, lacking such things as tattoos or piercings, and are usually augmented in some form.
Origins and History:
The Void Tyrants were originally intended as close combat experts aboard Imperial warships, boarders who could get the jump on an enemy warship and breach the bridge before anyone knew better. They were organized much in the same vein as Thunder Warriors, trained in similarly brutal tactics, though the first action of such warriors was to aid in the eradication of their forebears. The XX Legion did so gleefully and with much satisfaction; they had become the usurpers, the Emperor’s beloved, and in this they basked. They took on their role as the violent ones astride the furies of war, as lords of the blade and blood, and in this did the Void Tyrants revel. They loved it and it loved them. The XX Legion would, over the years, accrue a ruthless reputation, one of a headstrong belief in the potential for defeat. They were an expansive Legion, one which eclipsed enough of the others, and they were a strong Legion.

    Then the Forgefather came.

Creatrix disapproved of their wanton bloodshed, the violence, the lack of sophistication. The priest desired a refined force, knew what a refined force required, and found in the XX Legion only barbarians. The disapproval was palpable and the Chapter Master at the time, one Isidorus, did not think that the metal man should control flesh and blood. He spoke of it openly, so convinced was Isidorus that he was in the right and that the Emperor’s blessing fell upon those who embraced their Humanity, not tried to replace it. He spoke of their lineage, of the blood that had been spilt in Man’s name, and was angry that an outsider would come to the Legion to change it, not having lived through the countless dead. Creatrix thought the Chapter Master was drived by pride, by arrogance, by lust for self-worth, and in this the Forgefather saw one unworthy of the title he bore so proudly. Declared to a duel to decide the direction of the Legion, the Chapter Master accepted willingly. The combat lasted fifty-three minutes and, of those few blessed to watch, was said to be among the finest duels to be fought. In the end, however, Chapter Master Isidorus died and Creatrix earned the bloody right to reshape the XX Legion into a new image.

Over the course of a year, the Void Tyrants experienced a purge no other Legion has seen. They were instructed in the arts of the long range, of demolition and design, intended to be avatars of the Omnissiah's will. Held to the standards of a Skitarii's digital aim, a Tech-Priest's skill, and the fervor of a Magos, not all would emerge from the purges as a Legionary of the XX. A great many would be in a way exiled, pushed out to other Legions for their failure to conform to the indoctrination which Creatrix administered. Such Legionaries were stripped of rank and honors, as their Primarch said such things had been done vaingloriously and without honor. Suchs actions as to benefit the self befit a Rogue Trader, not an Astartes. Those who remained, however, were comparatively elite. They knew blade and rifle, knew how to soothe a raging machine spirit or enflame another, and held the glories of siegeworks in their minds. Creatrix was satisfied in their capabilities, armed as they were with scatterings of Galvanic Rifle intermixed with common Bolter, trained as they were both as Astartes and as the Priesthood desired, and thus did the XX Legion join that Great Crusade.

The Void Tyrants were that well oiled machine which Creatrix desired. Victories innumerable were won under the blessed cog of the Machine God, from the vast fields of Pythus to the blasted hellscape of Julian Astorphin. They fought the greenskin tooth and nail upon Imindar, one moon of the Ultima Segmentum which paid host to a crashed Kroozer, and the greenskin would soon grow wary of the black armored foe. From across the battlefield, Transuranic Arquebuses turned Warbosses into jelly with their power, the very armor about the Ork ensuring that ample shockwave, while Deff Dreads and Killa Kans fell like chaff in the wind. Before the Legion came Skitarii in vast waves, mercilessly cutting down Grots with ease and ensuring ample distraction. There, the Ork found no safe harbor to spread it's xenos filth. Engagements with Ork fleets by the Void Tyrants would prove similarly deadly, though for other reasons. Forever keeping out of range, Ork vessels either chased until dead in the water or attempted to run and were blasted into scrap. The size of such vessels only indicated how long it might take for their eventual annihilation.

More notable have been the excursions against several wayward fragments of humanity and some newfound xenos races, classified and studied by some few Magos Biologis, to which the XX Legion holds sole responsibility for the destruction of. From the Olatin Empire, a despotic realm of humanity led astray by the false promises of void-whispers, to the Helgamir, traders of no morality who attempted the seizure of Imperial colonies, the Void Tyrants proved mercilessly calculating in their administrations of justice. Few foes could hope to match the marksmanship of the Legion, though the enemies who did would unerringly receive special packages in the form of counter battery fire.

Over the years of the Great Crusade, however, the XX Legion has kept true to its roots and intentions. They were the rebuilders of conquered lands and on every planet they landed the twin graces of a fortress and a shrine to the Machine God. Of course, when given time for a prolonged stay the Legion would build factorums, dams, energy production sites for simpler technological regions when a reactor was deemed infeasible for sustained performance. Wind farms turned into the breeze, solar panels raised their eyes to the sky. They built, trying to leave each planet better, and in time the Void Tyrants themselves turned to the Omnissiah as a whole. Over the decades, the sight of a Tech-Priest had been a daily occurrence wherever they might work and, by virtue of such actions and by their training, the Legion was afflicted with that cogwheel faith. They have remained so faithful.

    Specialist Formations:
      Tortoribus
Armed with either Galvanic Rifles or Transuranic Arquebuses, these are the finest marksmen the Void Tyrants can offer. Equipped with camo cloaks, they maneuver about the battlefield unfettered by the usual bureaucracy of attached soldiers. The first to jump into ground combat, a Totoribus is capable of operating alone to accomplish his goals, in squads, or in conjunction with other Legions. They are capable scouts, adhering deeply to the tenants Creatrix has instilled in them. These soldiers are recruited from both the common populace of Legionaries, as common as one might find, and those born of the Mechanicum’s civil population. Rarely an Imperial citizen not of the Cult Mechanicus
      Conquestus
Those rare among the ranks of the Void Tyrants who exhibit the Psyker’s gift are not denied that birthright; trained firstly as a Legionary, implacable and commanding of war, then as a Librarian, a weaver of the Warp-storms wherever their tempestuous winds fly, they are then sent to the Cult Mechanicus to be trained as a priest of that most holy of orders. They recite hymns in Binary, sing the greatest songs of the digital ages, and into battle the Conquestus strides unchallenged. Their hymns, empowered by the faith of the Machine God and the spirits beyond count, bless those vehicles about and curse the enemy’s; for a foe to hold such technology intact is a rare thing indeed. Equipped with Cataphractii Pattern Tactical Dreadnought Armour, such vestments have been modified to suit a servant of the Machine God better. With a helm resembling a Tech-Priest, green lenses and augur arrays in sight, the priest holds a greater view of the battlefield before him. Mechadendrites line the back of a priest like a grisly cloak, most of them equipped with fine manipulators while others sport transonic razors, and a Servo-Harness enables the twin Servo-arms to reload his cannon. Most Conquestus prefer to arm themselves with a heavy bolter or assault cannon while some few others take comfort in the use of Eradication Rays. Digi weapons set into the gauntlets give each of these holy servants yet another repertoire of death, commonly being of close quarters weaponry in order to surprise a foe. The Conquestus deploy situationally into battle in squads of ten, lead by a senior Conquestus, and are only under the command of the most senior officer. Otherwise, these squadrons take and receive advice.
      Fulgur
The Dreadnoughts of the XX Legion, these giants bridge the final gap between man and machine. Blessed by the holy Omnissiah, they wreathe with a Mechadendrite Hive’s fureous energies. Armed with Eradication Ray and Volkite Culverins, their eyes are aided by Omnispex systems to pinpoint the precise location an enemy will maneuver for. Such units are clad in thick adamantine shells, protected by multi-layered Conversion Fields designed to resist anti-vehicle weapons. They are deployed singularly, as the Fulgur exist in far lesser numbers than any other Legion.
Legion Wargear:
    Armaments
The XX Legion employs a variety of weapons systems which are standardized throughout the Legions. From the common Bolter to Plasma Guns and Gamma Pistols, they span all. It should be noted that the XX Legion possesses a higher stock of plasma, volkite, and radium than most other Legions, in part due to the close ties they hold to the Mechanicum, in part due to their eagerness to scavenge and repair. Melta and Flamer weaponry is less common than most others as such tools are inherently short ranged, though they aee still in service due to potential emergencies. Insofar as heavy weapons, they employ them sparsely but to great effect. Landing a laden soldier is after all harder and more costly than not, but the gains from such heavy weaponry has been shown to be worth it. Below are those weapons which are unique to the Void Tyrants.

      Cael Pattern Bolter
Manufactured aboard the Filii Vetustissima herself, this standardized weapon fires .60 caliber shells in exchange for a truly exceptional fire rate. As such, it is fed by a heavy drum magazine for 50 rounds total. It is capable of firing in single shot, three round bursts, or fully automatically. The range of the bolter is comparable to most other contemporaries, in part due to a built in cogitator for the use of trajectory calculations which are then fed directly to the Marine using that weapon. As such, it requires a plug, often located on the Marine’s gauntlet. The accuracy of the weapon is likewise comparable to most others in singular shot, though this rapidly degrades as one fires automatically.
      Almerae Pattern Heavy Bolter
Smaller and lighter than most other Legion Heavy Bolters, this pattern holds origin with some other Mechanicum weapons of Mars herself. Firing a .60 caliber bolt shell at twice the speed, the whole of the system cuts down recoil via a floating barrel and heavy pneumatics. The weight of the Almerae Pattern is such that an Astartes can carry it as a rifle, though accuracy greatly diminishes. As standard it is equipped with a bipod, though tripods have been in use since its inception, and some few prefer to instead fit the weapon with all manner of stabilizers, anti-grav plates, and other marvels into order to push the weapon into the rapid assault role. Due to the floating barrel design this Heavy Bolter is less accurate with sustained bursts than comparable Patterns. Due to this, few Legionaries fit their weapons with better optics or trajectory cogitators. The weapon is fed via a flat drum magazine, 80 shells, on top of the weapon.
      Galvanic Rifle
Originally employed in the hands of the Skitarii, these weapons have found their way into Legion hands purely for the exceptionally close ties to the Mechanicum. Modeled after the ancient rifles of Mars, they fire miniature, servitor-guided slugs into a foe at the longest range. None give their weapon decoration about its wooden stock and ancient design as they are taught that the rifle will very likely survive them, though the administrations of the Martian priesthood has ensured other factors for this unwillingness are at play. They do however take some effort in the application of high powered optics in order to better wield the rifle. Commonly employed for the elimination of officers and upper level NCOs, their crack is perhaps the only sign they have been targeted.
      Transuranic Arquebus
Acquired in the same manner as the Galvanic Rifles which the Legion employs, the role of these fierce weapons is somewhat different. While Galvanic Rifles strike the thr officer, the vox operator, or even the sergeant, the Transuranic Arquebus instead tears through vehicles and heavy infantry like a knife through butter. Impacted with relatively minor effect, the round zips through the vehicle and causes a shockwave of air via sheer speed. Through this, even the cruelest warlord in the heaviest plate turns to jelly. It has also found its way into the tankbuster role as the weapon is easily handled among the troops compared to the bulkier missile launchers, holds superior range to those weapons, and is vastly more accurate.
    Armor
Armored much like most other Legions with adequate stocks of the Mark II and Mark III Power Armor, the differences between them are found more so in the details and the few suits modified for specialist purposes. As can be expected, Void Tyrants keep especially good care of their armor due to a trio of factors. They hold strong ties to the Mechanicum, thereby receiving ample spare parts and material to repair damaged suits. They are a smaller Legion, not requiring vast numbers of armor, a d so more time may be spent on each individual suit. They hold a common proliferation of the knowledge and skills required to repair such armor. As a result, it is with some measure of pride that these suits are kept in good operational conditions. XX Legion armor is commonly augmented by augur arrays for tactical awareness, with such methods being nearly ubiquitous among NCOs.
Legion Vehicles:
The XX Legion makes use of a large, heavy core of aerial combatants and transports in order to deploy and support its terrestrial forces, along with a minor cadre of transports, tanks, artillery, and such of that nature. Overall the reasoning for this different power base is due to the fleet based nature of the Legion as a whole. It is far easier to deploy forces which refuel upon your carriers than it is to set up logistical chains, supply depots, and other detailing. Furthermore, the natural speed superiority of aerial transport makes it an attractive method. Thunderhawks and variants of such ferry the main troops down to a surface, though drop pods may be deployed prior to the expedition to destroy key enemy points such as communications centers, towers, and sensor stations.
Legion Fleet:
    Unique
      1x Fortress-Monastery
        Image
        Filii Vetustissima
Measuring at a total of 39 kilometers length and 36 kilometers width, this warship is as much an Ark Mechanicus as ever a battleship. While her main battery is centered about an array of Bombardment Cannons and Lathe Pattern Grav-culverins set in turrets and large, heavily armored casements about the circumference of the vessel, the main strength of the vessel's armament comes from her heavy missile batteries. Such weapons, with their varied payloads and ability to approach a target at long range undetected, are prized for both lethality and accuracy. The warship is, however, equipped with two graviton beam weapons as have been seen upon the Ark Mechanicus Speranza, enabling her to destroy the most fortified of enemies. Heavy gravitational generators about the vessel enable the massive warship to counteract usual physics, pushing objects away from the warship and causing otherwise rapid maneuvers to become sluggish. While this is in use, however, the flagship cannot move as rapid as well. Unknown to nearly all, however, the Filii Vetustissima holds a singular, central Machine Spirit, a being which Creatrix has conversed with in real, intelligent conversation. Like all vessels of the XX Legion, it is crewed by Legionaries and those of the Cult Mechanicus only.
    Battleships
      2x Fusilis-class Battleship
        Fusilis, Felix
Constructed by the Ring of Iron specifically for the XX Legion, these warships measure seven kilometers long and are armed to the teeth with a variety of advanced weaponry. The silhouette of such warships is crowded and cluttered, all while being low. The aft superstructure easily blends into the deck clutter while auspex arrays are held high on their tri-beam masts. The forward portion of the vessel presents the usual image of an armored prow, as many Imperial warships, though this merely conceals a superheavy augur array for the detection of the most elusive prey. With expansive engine systems designed to outrun any enemy able to engage and catch any who can’t, they save weight to contribute to this favorable thrust-to-mass ratio in every way. Highly efficient Mechanicus shielding, derived in part from Ark Mechanicus vessels, gives them a strong bulwark while a streamlined main battery of Lathe Pattern Grav-culverins and lances, mounted in centerline turrets, gives a punch. Along the sides of the vessels, tucked between armor plating, are the hangars, enabling them to ferry troops into the harshest of environments. These vessels have been equipped similarly to the Dictator-class vessels in regards to flak batteries.
    Cruisers
      3x Dictator-class Cruiser
Sol Filius Dei, Tyrannus Inanis, Sine Culpa
Armed with batteries of the Hecutor Pattern Plasma Macrocannon and substantially upgraded engines, these warships utilize auspex probes in an unusual manner as decoys for enemy scanners. Their ability to move in and out of contested areas, sustaining minor damage due to their multi-layered shielding design, has seen the warships operated in an especially aggressive manner. Due to this, they also are modified with flak batteries to ensure enemy ordinance does not destroy the cruiser. These vessels are capable of minelaying.
    Destroyers
      5x Nova-class Frigate
Domus Luporum, Odio Noctem, Dux Super, Sol Mucronibus, Perfusorius Incus
Modified with the characteristic engine systems of the Void Tyrants, the lance armament of these frigates has likewise been modified by the Mechanicus to deliver far more punishing blows than any usual Nova-class. The weapons batteries are of a smaller variant of the Hecutor Pattern Plasma Macrocannon, giving a heavy punch. In order to facilitate their role as a purebred warship, these frigates are equipped with expansive auspex arrays to enable long-range targeting, as well as the potential for third party targeting deployments. The lower hull has a series of single shot missile tubes, mounted in conjunction with servitor-guided missiles. These vessels are capable of minelaying.
Legion Relics:
    Statue of Praimis
A twelve foot tall statue of a metal man with an impassive face, this relic defies much of known law. With every moment, proportions subtly, gradually shift as hands grow impossibly long nails, hands, arms, as joints disappear or gradually move up or down an appendage until the elbow stands at the wrist or shoulder, as the neck hunches and straightens. The metal itself is likewise illegal by natural law, cold to the touch and strangely only growing colder as it is heated. When found in a lake of lava, the statue was five degrees Kelvin. No life has yet been detected of the statue, nor machine spirit, though some do claim of both. What is furthermore strange is that the statue of a man was found on a planet never touched by man before.
    Forms of He
A series of nine cogs, ever-shifting in their number of teeth and size, to intermesh two of these cogs causes the power of the Machine God to resonate for several dozen square miles. As they stay in place, whir and move silently to be powered by some unbidden machine, all of nature’s mechanical laws must be obeyed. All shall die in their time, unfettered by dilation technologies, the Warp shall touch not a singular soul, and none may pierce its veil. When more cogs intermesh, the range of such an effect is multiplied. It is said, though not tested, that to intermesh all nine cogs is to undo the Warp transit of warships.

Here's a non-Primarch to chew on. I'm thinking of submitting a second app as a related character, so parts of this one are subject to change.

Name: Lucia Livia Bellona
Alias: Lady Bellona, Femina Caeli Rosae, Fioridia's Finest Daughter, Livvie
Age: 133
Image

Organization Character Belongs to: The Lady is a vassal of the Imperium.
Rank and Titles: Lord Governor & Imperatoress of the Fioridian Sub-Sector, Matriarch of House Bellona, General-Chief of the Fioridian Planetary Defense Force, Rear Admiral of the Navis Imperialis (fmr.)

Appearance:
Safe for her augmentations, Livia Bellona is a standard human woman. Just over 5' in height, Livia is shorter than most of her counterparts. Though offered the choice of elongating her stature via artificial means, she declined, finding it both amusing and useful to play into the notion that she is a helpless old lady. Thought she is not helpless, she is, undoubtedly, an old woman. Perhaps the most 'non-standard' aspect of the woman, Livia has utilized bio-mechanical and chemical means to extend her lifespan far beyond what is considered normal for a human. Despite this, one would be hard pressed to guess at her true age, nutrient pumps and bionics concealed beneath heavy robes and official finery, and her face similarly concealed behind a mask of intrigue and powder.

Personality:
Livia is a highly opinionated and intelligent woman, yet reserved and even-handed in her governance. Her chief concern is the preservation of her home-world and her people, a cause she is willing to lay down her own life and the lives of all those around her to defend. She views warfare as the means to an end, and so long as the end is just and within reach, the means may be as ruthless or as destructive as necessary to attain victory. Despite this, she also recognizes her own limits, relying on careful planning and the input of advisors to make up for her lack of physical strength or resources in the face of the enemy, whether they be the endless hordes of Greenskins, the heretical allure of the Ruinous powers, or even the inhuman strength of the Astartes.

Backstory:
Born shortly before the conquest of Fioridia and her surrounding planets by the Imperium, Livia entered life at the zenith of her planet's proposerity. A colony of mankind located in the Segmentum Pacificus, Fioridia had retained and built upon much of the knowledge so many human settlements had forsaken for techno-barbarism. A primarily agricultural world, Fioridia sustained the armies that fought the Men of Iron and humanity's numerous other enemies during the Dark Age of Technology. During the subsequent Age of Strife, Fioridia's immense surpluses of food allowed her population to stay high, relative to other, less fortunate worlds. By the time Livia was born, Fioridia was beginning to establish colonies on neighboring worlds, utilizing sub-light ships, and to experiment with astropathy and the exploitation of the Warp. Around this period, the Imperium made cursory expeditions into the space near Fiorida. These first Imperial soldiers attempted to bring Fioridia into the Imperial fold with words, but found their efforts futile. The rulers of the world had no interest in aligning with some distant demigod, and unlike many of the worlds that the Imperials happened upon, the Fioridians possessed the means to defend their planet in a meaningful way. With elaborate defense constructs of archaic design and the element of surprise, the Fioridians repulsed initial thrusts of the Excertus Imperialis. But, as the conflict dragged on and the defenders learned of the true scale of their enemy, hope began to wear thin.

A cadre of nobles seeking to sue for peace rather than fight to destruction coalesced around Livia Bellona, heiress of the most powerful family within the planet. Her father, the Fioridian's head of state, represented the antithesis of the war-weary nobles, believing himself to be waging a patriotic war of annihilation against the fanatical zealots of the so-called Emperor. The Emperor himself saw much of his own Imperium in the Fioridians, and, given ample time to develop, a potentially destructive rival. Alongside his newly recovered Daughter, he intended to personally survey the destruction of the Fioridians. Meanwhile, agents of the Emperor, acting in parallel to bring about the early subjugation of the planet, released information concerning the oncoming invasion to several nobles within the Fioridian court. Within the information was a recording of an Astartes on the battlefield. Despite the Fioridian's technological strides, they could not hope to combat such advanced heavy infantry, and were already having difficulty withstanding the attacks of the Navis Imperialis. Many of the nobles were convinced that, should the invaders make landfall, the planet would be irreparably razed and all would be slaughtered. Themselves terrified, they shared what they had learned with the young heiress, Bellona.

A pragmatist, Livia immediately realized the dire situation which her father had placed her people in. And, on the eve of the Emperor's assault, sabotaged her father's carefully arranged defenses. With the gates flung open, the Golden Queen's red and white troops fell upon the planet unimpeded, with their Emperor watching from the atmosphere. Among dissenters within Fioridia, it is that moment which defined Livia's ascent and earned her the moniker, Femina Caeli Rosae, the Woman of the Rose-Colored Sky.

In the immediate aftermath, Livia fell to her knees before the Emperor's Daughter, swearing fealty to the Imperium and declaring that Fioridia would be added to the Imperium's growing list of conquered worlds. In the following years, Livia became a willing accomplice in the internal subjugation of her planet to the Imperium, relinquishing Psykers to the Black Ships, surrendering artifacts and technology to the Mechanicum, even destroying certain records of Fioridia's history, all the while decimating her own political enemies along the way. Upset with the radical nature of Livia's policies, the many same nobles who prodded her to action now began to agitate for her deposition. After several failed assassination attempts, Livia relented and left Fioridia to pursue a career in the Navis Imperialis. Still a young woman, Livia was able to claw her way up the ranks of the Navy with the same dedication and ruthlessness that served her back on her planet.

As the Great Crusade stretched ever farther, Livia's responsibilities shifted from monitoring the movement of enemy fleets and ferrying Space Marines, to assessing the after-action damage reports of frigates and determining how best to adjust the fuel and munition budget for the current financial quarter. Though she attacked bureaucratic processes with the same enthusiasm as she had Greenskins, the tedium of the grinding gears of the Imperium wore on her and she soon grew disillusioned. Amidst the endless reports to be filed and contingency plans to be drawn up, Livia began to question the insanity of her father's conflict. Despite his heartbreak at seeing his daughter turned against him by his political rivals, he resisted until the end - when he was beheaded by members of the Fifth Legion, as his soldiers were cut down to the last man. Livia concluded that, while he himself was as fanatical as the Imperials he fought, the preservation of Fioridia as a distinct people was a worthwhile cause. She retired from the Imperial Navy, returning to Fioridia. Viewed by the populace as the planet's prodigal son, Livia had little issue assuming, once again, the position of Planetary Governor.

In that office she has remained for decades, now an old woman sustained by bio-mechanical enhancements, lifetime-lengthening accoutrements and amphetamine-laden stimulants. Despite this, she has retained her power with an iron grip and with the assistance of a select group of highly-competent advisors. Foretold of the ruin which will befall the Imperium, her weathered eyes smolder with the same passion as her father's.

Personal Accoutrements of import:

"The Thousandth Cut"
An ugly but effective firearm gifted to Livia by a friend within the Mechanicum. Constructed to resemble the pistols utilized by Skitarii infiltrators and assassins, the device is lightweight and easy for the old woman to use. Despite the flimsy construction, the flechette rounds which the gun spews are horrifically destructive on unarmored targets, capable of easily and near-silently shredding bone and muscle.

"Should Guile Fail Thee"
A power sword in the shape of a naval cutlass, this weapon is unique in that it was constructed prior to when the Emperor ruled over Fioridia. Devoid of identifying emblems and lacking much of the design language common amidst Imperial weaponry, some claim that Livia took the weapon from a Daemon during her time fighting for the Imperium in the Void. In fact, the blade belonged to Livia's father, and sat on his hip for the duration of his insurrection against the Imperium. It is said to have personally separated the head of at least one Space Marine from his shoulders.

Various Life Lengthening Trinkets and Baubles
Gathered over the decades, Livia maintains a small collection of devices which have been said by one or another to extend one's life. Some items purely sentimental, some based on pseudo-science, it is unclear which, if any, of the pieces that she keeps on her person have actually contributed to her abnormally long life. In conjunction with a handful of bio-mechanical enhancements and implants embedded within the old woman's body, Livia has been able to live well past the commonly accepted human lifespan, and she has no intention of giving up the ghost any time soon.

Stimulants
Livia's body, supported by her various devices, would have no issue sustaining her in day-to-day activity alone. Livia's day-to-day activity, however, is far more strenuous than that of the average noblewoman. Whether it be participating in the endless debates over state policy, pulling an all-nighter to oversee the apprehension of cultists, or simply making a public appearance, Livia's position demands that she project more strength than her frail body is capable of providing on its own. To account for this shortcoming, Livia makes liberal use of chemical stimulants. By virtue of her wealth and office, the stimulants which she uses are typically of a higher quality than that jabbed into the arm of a guardsman. This, however, does not quiet the concerns of her advisors, who are constantly concerned that over-use could lead to physical addiction or illness.

Tag. A dual 30K and Imp RP is a welcome sight.

If it's possible to reserve a Primarch I'd like to do so. Regardless I'll get a least a WIP app up tomorrow.

Aye we are taking reservations. There’s still plenty of room for Primarchs (we have hypothetically up to 20 slots for Primarchs)

Name: Lucia Livia Bellona
Alias: Lady Bellona, Femina Caeli Rosae, Fioridia's Finest Daughter, Livvie
Age: 133
Appearance: Here.
Personality: Livia is a highly opinionated and intelligent woman, yet reserved and even-handed in her governance. Her chief concern is the preservation of her home-world and her people, a cause she is willing to lay down her own life and the lives of all those around her to defend. She views warfare as the means to an end, and so long as the end is just and within reach, the means may be as ruthless or as destructive as necessary to attain victory. Despite this, she also recognizes her own limits, relying on careful planning and the input of advisors to make up for her lack of resources in the face of the enemy, whether they be the endless hordes of Greenskins, the heretical allure of the Ruinous powers, or even the inhuman strength of the Astartes.

Backstory: Born shortly before the conquest of Fioridia and her surrounding planets by the Imperium, Livia entered life at the zenith of her planet's proposerity. A colony of mankind located in the Segmentum Pacificus, Fioridia had retained and built upon much of the knowledge so many human settlements had forsaken for techno-barbarism. Personal Accoutrements of import:

"The Thousandth Cut" - A pistol gifted to Livia by an advisor associated with the Mechanicum, modeled after the sort of pistol used by Skitarii infiltrators. Lightweight and easy for the old woman, but horrifically effective on unarmored targets.

"Should Guile Fail Thee" - An adamantium power-sword in the shape of naval cutlass. Forged on Fioridia, this is the sword Livia's father used to combat the Imperium almost a century previously. It is said to have personally separated the head of at least one Space Marine from its shoulders.

Various Life Lengthening Trinkets and Baubles - Gathered over the decades, Livia keeps a small collection of devices which have been said to extend one's life. Some purely sentimental, some based on pseudo-science, it is unclear which, if any, of the pieces that she keeps on her person have actually contributed to her abnormally long life. Despite this, Livia remains quite healthy and active, for a 133-year old woman.

Stimulants - Though Livia normally had little issue with day-to-day activity, more intensive physical activity, long debates of state policy, or public appearances demand that she project strength greater than her frail body can provide on its own. By virtue of her wealth and office, the stimms she uses are of a higher quality than those found jabbed in the forearm of a guardsman, nonetheless this does not quell the fears of her advisors concerning addiction and stimm-caused ailments

Looks great!

Small nitpick, the Imperial Truth has yet to be replaced by the Imperial Creed and so the Emperor of Mankind doesn't have the 'God' part added to his name. Though, there is a slowly growing underground religious presence.
