@realjamalpatrick I don't think you have any right to judge me, especially since I have been in politics longer than you have been alive. You ought be ashamed of yourself, I ain't never seen a person openly vow to support anybody who starts a campaign against someone whom you don't seem to like. You probably just want to be in the news and gain fame.

Senator James Moore
@MichiganMoore
My call for President Wolf to report on his health and ability to execute the duties of his office has continued to go unanswered. His last public appearance was in the early summer, it is unacceptable the American people have no knowledge of the health and well being of the President of the United States. The people have a right to know the condition of the President. For the American people to go months without seeing a man that has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer is incredibly suspicious on the part of the entire adminstration.

FROM: Tim Westra
TO: Sen. Volek, Rep. Simone
Greetings,
Hope everything is well with leadership. Following my exit from the presidential race I have a lot of time on my hands to legislate. I had announced in a meeting with the Sierra Club a few weeks back that I would be introducing climate legislation to improve climate risk information for disaster planning and to increase funding for private and public climate resilience projects to mitigate the effects of natural disasters that we are experiencing right now.
I think that the bill has a good chance of passage, given the recent fires in California, hurricanes in Florida and other states, and the slew of natural disaster that are plaguing the nation at this moment, including Republican constituents. There is nothing particularly controversial included in the bill; nothing about decarbonization or funding for renewables, just a focus on keeping people safe with up-to-date information services and reducing the impact of floods, fires, and storms with solid infrastructure in place.
Take a look at the bill attached below, and let me know if this is something the leadership would be willing to push at the earliest possible time, given the recency and urgency of dealing with these climate change induced disasters.
Thanks,
TimOfficial Name: The Climate Resilience Act of 2019
Sponsor: Senator Tim Westra (D-NJ)
Cosponsor(s):
Overview: The recent fires in California along with the storms and hurricanes in the South and Middle America, have made it clear that the effects of climate change are no longer theoretical. They are here, hurting real people in real time. This requires the very same mobilization as our country did in World War 2 and post-9/11 in keeping our people - and the world - safe from harm.
The effects and costs of the climate crisis are already manifesting, and they will continue to manifest to some extent even if carbon emissions are reduced. A transition away from fossil fuels, although necessary, is not going to end all natural disasters. It is equally important for Congress to focus its efforts on building resilience.
Building resilience to climate change induced disasters is the purpose of this bill. Such a legislative action should not be polarizing. We have seen how all of our state and local governments have been scrambling to deal with the aftermath of such natural disasters, waiting on aid from the federal government and engaging in bidding wars for federal funding. This legislation will aim to put in place an organized contingency plan for dealing with such disasters that are a result of the climate crisis. This goes beyond the politics of decarbonization and transforming our economy and gets right to the heart of the climate crisis: keeping our people safe. By paving the way for better data collection about climate disasters, clearer information provided to states and local government to keep them prepared, and capitalizing a federal fund to partner with private industry to make investments in climate resilience projects, we can start adapting to the future disasters that we know are coming and keep Americans safe from harm.
SECTION 1: CLIMATE RISK INFORMATION SERVICE
a) Establishes the "Climate Risk Information Service" that will operate within the United State Environmental Protection Agency in order to:1) Develop and maintain a centralized portal ("database") for universal access to authoritative climate risk information geared toward public and private-sector decision-makers;
2) Partner with non-science federal agencies and with non-governmental groups, such as the Science for Climate Action Network (SCAN), to ensure that the development of risk information products occurs in close coordination with user and community needs.
b) Establishes an interagency working group, the "Climate Risk Coordination Group" to focus on local planning for climate induced disasters. The working group would:1) Coordinate the development of authoritative planning-scale climate risk information across federal civilian science departments and agencies and unclassified programs within defense and intelligence agencies;
2) Complement existing efforts through the White House National Science and Technology Council Subcommittee on Global Change Research, and it would build on partnerships with nonfederal entities, such as through the Climate Data Initiative and the Earth Science Information Partners.
c) Authorizes $18,000,000 for FY 2020, reallocated from the FY 2019 EPA Global Change Research Program funding, to be spent on developing the Climate Risk Information Service;
d) Authorizes $7,000,000 for FY 2020, reallocated from the FY 2019 HHS Global Change Research Program funding, to be spent on creating the Climate Risk Coordination working group.
SECTION 2: REAL TIME CLIMATE RISK MODELING FOR PUBLIC SAFETY
a) Establishes a Climate Change Insular Research Grant Program for higher education institutions in United States territories to monitor, collect, synthesize, analyze, and publish local climate change data regularly;1) $15,000,000 in spending is authorized for the development of this grant program, reallocated from Department of Commerce Global Change Research Program funding;
2) The grant program will be administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior.
b) Directs the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to partner with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as well as other agencies in order to leverage research and innovations of non-federal experts in order to develop the next generation of fully coupled Earth system models for seamless weather and climate prediction;
c) Research and data collected by the above mentioned initiatives and agencies will be contributed to the Climate Risk Information Service as well as the Climate Risk Coordination Group.
SECTION 3: CLIMATE RESILIENCY FUND
a) Establishes the "Climate Resiliency Fund" within the U.S. Department of Commerce which will:1) Issue state and local tax-exempt federal obligations, or "climate bonds," the proceeds of which shall be used to fund private and government projects, national or local, that aid in adaptation to climate change, projects including but not limited to:
i) Flood control and sea walling;
ii) Forest fire prevention;
iii) Structural fortification.
2) Develop recommendations, frameworks, and guidelines for the above mentioned projects that respond to the impacts of climate change.
b) The aggregate face amount of the climate change obligations issued annually under this section shall be $200,000,000;
c) For any calendar year in which all of the bonds issued have been purchased, the Secretary of Commerce may issue additional climate bonds during such calendar year, provided that the aggregate face amount of such additional obligations does not exceed $800,000,000.
This bill is then honorably presented to the Senate for consideration in order to build climate resilience and is backed by Timothy Westra on November 17th, 2019.

Grey early-morning sunlight leaked through the windows of the Long house, as Russell padded gently into the kitchen. He'd decided against staying in the Governor's Mansion for the weekend, instead opting to return home and gather his thoughts.
He'd been thinking, and thinking without talking about it, which was unusual to say the least. Thinking about his future, and his family's past.
The Keurig whirred and beeped, steaming coffee pouring into the massive mug he clutched. Milk. Sugar.
A little more sugar.
The spoon, incongruously tiny in his massive palm, clinked as he stirred his drink, pacing about the kitchen.
Do I just roll over and die?
Settling his frame into a kitchen chair, he sipped at the coffee, considering the options.
He could run for President, try and siphon votes off Velez down South. A Dayton Presidency wouldn't be his favorite, but Jillian could at least get things done. If Levi wasn't such an argumentative twat, Russell would happily support him now that Tim was out.
But Tim was out. And Levi was an argumentative twat.
There was that Senate seat, currently lacking a serious Democratic contender. That could be fun, although Gaspard would be a tough opponent.
He nursed his coffee, musing as the Sun slowly rose. The room gradually filled with light, pink and gold brushing the tops of the buildings outside.
He made a decision--he needed to talk to someone, someone in the know.
Wandering over to the telephone in the living-room, he jabbed out a number.
"Hello, Senator Dayton?"

"Your support, join Eleanor, help elect a woman, a pragmatic, realistic, candidate to the Presidency," Jillian didn't mince her words, "we both know Levi Murphy will never win the White House, and would probably go wherever McGovern went. While Mike will compete in Arizona, and Florida, but he can't win the rust belt with his record. I'm the only candidate in the field who can bring an end to the warring Progressives and Moderates for the interim, expand the map enough and appease working Americans we're not going to dock their healthcare and guns in one single day."

Frankie chuckled for a brief moment before answering.
"Well, Jillian, I trust you understand I lent my support to women like Eleanor Brosnan and Michelle Dalton because of their respectable conservative credentials. And sure, I think you put in the work to help them and obviously have earned their support. But my own will certainly not come so quickly. I am simply afraid that you are far too liberal for me Senator. Going after coal in one of your bills while promoting abortion in another does not necessarily bode well for me to support. I may be pro-choice but I will not stake out a position of actively being an abortion activist legislator and much less seek to handicap the energy resources within our country and especially in Alaska and the Arctic Circle."
"I apologize if that's a little straight forward but since we are getting straight to the point." offered Frankie with a smile.
