The House Minority Leader was sat at his desk, reading through a number of bills that were on the House docket, his mind also contemplating the results of the down ballot elections and there implications further along the line. Soon after however, he heard a knock in his office door, looking over at his office clock and having an idea as to who it would be, he elected to walk towards the office door himself and open it rather than having his secretary do so. Opening the door, he saw that it was Congressman Patrick.
“Ah, it’s good of you to make it, Representative. Come in please.” The House Minority Leader said as he smiled and stepped back in order to allow the South Carolinian to step into the office.
"Thank You,"
He stepped inside, and glanced out the window. "Washington is beautiful this time of year" he said.
“Oh yes, that is certainly true, Congressman.” The House Minority Leader said, rounding his desk until he was opposite Patrick.
“Please, Congressman, have a seat.” Volker said, gesturing slightly towards the chair opposite him.
