Anything said by John Donaldson, the richest man left in the race, or Sen. Dayton without actively supporting grassroots action is just performative lip service.

“Hmm... perhaps I’ll just have to see how Vichter conducts himself in the future. Spellman... Spellman respects the party, certainly, but I’ve learned that his advisors were considering backing a primary challenge for my seat- as well as yours. They wouldn’t have talked like that if they didn’t think Spellman would jump at the opportunity. I’ll have to keep a close eye on him once he gets here. And Murphy? Don’t get me started... I feel like I have to move heaven and earth just to get him to do the smallest things- like apologizing to his colleagues for that mess over Iran.”

Karel took another sip of water before continuing.

“So I’ve decided to come up with a bill that’ll be an incentive for him to behave. And for the other would-be troublemakers to see that I’m willing to work with them if they’re willing to work with me. I have anti-trust legislation in the works that I intend for the progressives to write up, and I’d like to have your support for it.”

"I think Spellman's staff are jumped up idealists. But the man himself isn't a pigheaded idiot. Once he's elected in Oregon, we'll have him over for dinner." She smiled softly, clearly quite calm about that. "Anti-trust'll sweep through the House, Karel, no problem."

“I appreciate your support on this. And speaking of eating.... I’m sure you’ll be happy to learn I’ve changed my diet while you’ve been away. No more Papaya King for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.... just chicken or egg salads. I still have some luxuries, like bacon bits scattered here and there. My doctor finally convinced me that if I didn’t change my eating habits, I’d be six feet under sooner than I’d like to be.”

One of the most important factors in the spike in police brutality over the past three years has been the DOJ not exercizing its powers to intervene in systemically violent police departments. These powers were used under President Baharia to bring great change to jurisdictions like Cleveland. The GOP are the ones with blood on their hands in this matter, not Senator Dayton, and it's disingenuous to suggest otherwise. Senator Murphy should not co-opt and misrepresent black issues for cheap political pointscoring.

Primary Night in America - Nevada

Bolt: "Welcome to another exciting night of primaries this time in the great State of Nevada. This State was the strongest of President Arnold Wolf's victories in the first four primaries and a victory for Gov. Richardson in this State would effectively foreclose any road for Secretary Porter to win the nomination. This State is in effect a must-win State for the Ex-Secretary. The Republicans in this State are expected to be very sympathetic to the Porter message being mainly made up of White working-class voters. However, it remains to be seen if Gov. Richardson can pull off an upset by using a coalition of disprate suburbanites and LDS voters. Of course more surprising things have happened previously. Tonight from our sources on the ground due to a few minor technical difficulties Clark County, home to Las Vegas will be the last to report. Thus, we here at CNN are not expected to make a call until Clark County home to 67% of the State reports its results, as it alone is enough to overturn results from the rest of the State if a candidate wins thereby a sufficient margin. The first county that will report is Washoe. This is a county that Gov. Richardson is expected to perform very strongly in thanks to his strength in Reno, the largest city of Washoe county and the 3rd largest city in the State."

From exit polling certain suburban voters were relatively unimpressed by the Governor's debate performance, and although the suburban voters may not choose to vote for Sec. Porter they do have the option of just not turning out to support the Governor. This is especially critical in the caucus environment where even a minor edge in candidate enthusiasm triggers a cascade effect where other voters would be convinced at the caucus. The night is not out to a good start for Gov. Nate Richardson."

Currently while Gov. Richardson appears to have a large 8% lead on paper it is significantly more fragile than one would think, as no strong Porter counties have reported as of yet. And of course the biggest X factor of them all Clark County is still a long way from reporting."
