Our campaign, both for President and now for Senate, has pledged to donate a portion of funds to support community mutual aid funds for black Americans and local black-owned organizations. Anything said by John Donaldson, the richest man left in the race, or Sen. Dayton without actively supporting grassroots action is just performative lip service.

Spellman respects the party, certainly, but I’ve learned that his advisors were considering backing a primary challenge for my seat- as well as yours. They wouldn’t have talked like that if they didn’t think Spellman would jump at the opportunity. I’ll have to keep a close eye on him once he gets here. And Murphy? Don’t get me started... I feel like I have to move heaven and earth just to get him to do the smallest things- like apologizing to his colleagues for that mess over Iran.”
Karel took another sip of water before continuing.
“So I’ve decided to come up with a bill that’ll be an incentive for him to behave. And for the other would-be troublemakers to see that I’m willing to work with them if they’re willing to work with me. I have anti-trust legislation in the works that I intend for the progressives to write up, and I’d like to have your support for it.”
"I think Spellman's staff are jumped up idealists. But the man himself isn't a pigheaded idiot. Once he's elected in Oregon, we'll have him over for dinner." She smiled softly, clearly quite calm about that. "Anti-trust'll sweep through the House, Karel, no problem."

Jillian Dayton
@JillianDayton
For my entire Gubernatorial Term, I served with a Republican legislature, large swaths of policing policy are handled at local county levels and state policy, while ideal and something I wish we'd done, was unattainable with Republican stonewalling.
Jillian Dayton
@JillianDayton
Hugely rich of Senator Murphy who in his six years as Senator has offered more empty words than legislative solutions, to come after my record as Governor. We passed the nation's first and most comprehensive college education access bill, medicaid expansion, public transport revitalization, and so much more through a Republican legislature, what's he passed?

A future Dayton Administration will end No-Knock Warrants, qualified immunity, the chokehold and build on Senator Moore's police accountability legislation. Black Lives Matter.

![]() Max Smith @GovernorSmith Thinking that black lives matter does not equal supporting Black Lives Matter. BLM is an organisation that has time and time again condoned riots, looting and murder. (1/2) ![]() |
![]() Max Smith @GovernorSmith We in Arizona will never forget the time Los Angeles, in neighbouring southern California, was torched by rioters who murdered dozens of people regardless of race in 1992. It is disturbing to see BLM since their founding have supported similar murderous riots across the country like the ones in LA. (2/2) ![]() |

One of the most important factors in the spike in police brutality over the past three years has been the DOJ not exercizing its powers to intervene in systemically violent police departments. These powers were used under President Baharia to bring great change to jurisdictions like Cleveland. The GOP are the ones with blood on their hands in this matter, not Senator Dayton, and it's disingenuous to suggest otherwise. Senator Murphy should not co-opt and misrepresent black issues for cheap political pointscoring.

Black Lives Matter just as much as any other lives matter. If a house is on fire, do you spray down all of the houses in the neighborhood, or do you help out the burning house a little more than the rest of the neighborhood. Black Lives do matter, and it is a shame that for decades the issues of the black community have been politicized. #ShameOnYou

As a BLM Co-Ordinator and Activist, I can categorically state that Martin Spellman has never stood for BLM, which he reiterated when he visited my campaign office. The only candidates standing up for the African American Communities and people in the race have always been John Donaldson and Levi Murphy.

All this anger against looting and "burning down cities" yet silence when San Francisco Giants fans or Philadelphia Eagles fans literally rioted and caused fires over a single sports game. Not civil rights or the death of an American. But over a game. Yet no outrage from any Republicans. Why? They aren't primarily black.
