Yeah, you’re probably right...

Maybe they’ll be some other form of minority then, maybe Latino?

Does the sex really matter?

Yes. The GOP has a disadvantage with women voters and female representation in office. That disadvantage should be applied to sitting politicians.

But sex doesn’t really matter if you’re just applying for someone to run for a seat, not an actual officeholder.

Considering how it, as well as race, does in the IRL demographics of Washington... it probably does

Latino would be perfect.

IRL Gardner is pretty party-line on everything other than immigration, so it’s a good fit.

That seems a bit harsh. He could just be spiteful of the Republican establishment, or have a personal feud with Brookshire.

I’d say her competition with Porter for the basement-dweller vote is going pretty smoothly

Actually, I was thinking of his excuse being along those same lines of sickness or injury. I don’t know if that extremity is necessary, but I like it.

We have too many moderate Republicans as is. If you make Not-Gardner I’d ask that he remains a normal party line conservative on most issues

The simplest answer is that he literally does not have time to stop campaigning/fundraising/working on constituent cases in order to win in 2020

That’s the excuse I’ll use for my Alabama guy not campaigning for Shah
