The civil war was fought by large blocks of soldiers, this wild charging was very rare and often incredibly high in casualties.

Name: Hugh Finnegan
Age: 34
Rank: Captain
Unit: Battery L, 1st New York Artillery
Weapon: 6" Napoleons (battery), Colt M1860 Army (personal)
Position (Flag Bearer, Loader, Gunner, Trooper, Drummer ): Officer
Bio (optional): Born in County Galway, Ireland in 1827, Finnegan was one of eleven siblings, of whom six reached adulthood. In 1844, as a 17-year-old, he enlisted in the British Army, "taking the Queen's shilling" to earn more money than he could working his family's small plot of land. After three years service in the Royal Artillery, Finnegan was discharged and decided to move to America with his sister and nephew. In New York City's rough Five Points neighborhood, he found work as a longshoreman, and made sure to stay away from the gangs ravaging the area. But a sense of adventure drove him to join the United States Army, which was finishing a war with Mexico. Though he arrived to late to see conflict, he took part in the occupation of Mexico City. He remained in the Army when the war ended, achieving a lieutenant's commission in 1858 and a promotion in 1861, as a wave of Southern officers resigned to fight for the Confederacy. Now commanding an artillery battery, Captain Finnegan is eager to go to war.

Very intresting. With a drunk Irishman on our side, we HAVE to win the war.
