The Creation of the Core Confederacy: 37 AFR - 54 AFR
The Core confederacy was created in the aftermath of the Kuat-Neimodian war that began in 30 AFR. In the aftermath of said war, Kuat's limited forces were depleted, much of its orbital infrastructure in ruins and foreign threats had become a danger to the independence and security of Kuat. Seeing that the fall of the republic had create a collapse in regional security and that Kuat could not defend itself alone after the Neimodian war, they led the effort to create alliances with nearby worlds that sat on the important hyperspace lanes and were at risk of attack, piracy or outright invasion of rising mid or outer-rim threats. Those Alliances, drafted in 37 AFR, grew into the eventual creation of a limited constitutional republic, centered around the rights and freedoms of its member states. in 54 AFR the Core Confederacy was born.
The Kuat-Neimodian war: 30 AFR - 34 AFR
After the fall of the republic, the Neimodians, using their various colony worlds, took advantage of the collapsed republican order to accrue their wealth in more unsavory means. Nearby weaker worlds were subject to extortion or even outright slavery, marking the creation of a veritable Neimodian Empire. When Kuat began to see a threat in the Neimodians and refused to build more ships for their efforts, invasion was swift. By treason and surprise, the Kuat defense forces were almost crushed in a single strike, marking a long, terrible war that left Kuat's orbital infrastructure crippled and Neimodia occupied by Kuat and the allies it had gathered during the war. Although the galaxy at large realize the Neimodians started the war, the orbital bombardment and invasion of the world left billions of dead, after many hatcheries were destroyed or collapsed during the final months of the war. In the decades since, careful occupation tactics and re-education campaigns led by the Kuat have made Neimodia, now a planet with a sizeable human colonial population, a central, but conflicted member of the confederacy.

The Grey Knights
When the Jedi were in exile and the Neimodians led a spree of death and slavery through the Core and Colonies, the Jedi were slow to react. Several Jedi who originated from the region left on their own accord and fought the Neimodians alongside the Kuati fleet.
The Kuat families rewarded these Jedi handsomely and offered them places in command, places of renown and respect they had lost since the fall of the republic. Although many left, some stayed to regain a glimpse of their former glory during the time of the republic. These few, were heralded as heroes and their leader, frustrated with the Jedi, advocated a more pro-active path and understanding of the force, although always careful of the true ways of the Sith. He and his fellow deserters created the Grey Knights, a small, almost insignificant order, funded by the families of Kuat and given prominent places in the armies and fleets of the Confederacy. Although they walk a path somewhat like the Jedi, they have abandoned Orthodoxy and walk a more grey path. The Jedi of course, are ever wary that these frustrated force users will be all too easily swayed to the ways of the Sith.
Biography :
When the Grey knights were but an idea in the eyes of the deserting Jedi in service of the fledgling Core Confederacy, it was by luck that a cousin to the current patriarch of House Kuat was found to have a healthy link to the force. The Patriarch of House Kuat, indebted to these Jedi, allowed them to take his own blood as a Padawan. As his training progressed, so did the friendship between these Jedi and House Kuat, eventually leading to the Creation of the Grey knights. Of which Geralt became the first Padawan to complete his training and be named a "Knight", amongst the others who refused to return to a life as Jedi in Exile.
As a skilled force wielder heavily influenced by his ex-Jedi masters, Geralt has a strong moral compass, but fields his primary loyalties to his family and his homeworld of Kuat and as such, by extension, the Core Confederacy. As he was trained by veterans of the Neimodian wars, Geralt was influenced in unorthodox ways of combat compared to normal Jedi teachings. The usefulness of a blaster, or even more strange or less conventual weapons became a passion and beyond his lightsaber, Geralt is fond of conventual weapons and their various workings.
