Frankston Ranch Party

Having been invited weeks prior, Anne Caldwell arrived at the Frankston Ranch wearing a navy blue pantsuit with wide leg trousers that color-matched with her grandson's suit. Henry, as usual, stayed behind in Washington, not one for fancy politician parties. She began to meet up with her old colleagues from the House, before the attention of everyone present turned to the newest arrival - President Richard Tawney. Joined by the First Lady, Richard stepped out of the armed limousine and began to mingle with the crowd.

Having exchanged a few pleasantries with the Frankstons, as well as finally managing to deposit his gift with them, Thomas proceeded to excuse himself from Torrie and Sadie in search of his old friend and, in the past, endorsee, Governor Prendergast. Having finally found the Governor after a brief walk, Thomas walked over to the man.

“Jonah, it’s great to see you. I don’t think we’ve spoken to one another in a while now, how have things been over in the mountain state?”

Sadie Volker, Frankston Ranch

Sadie had arrived with her parents right on time. She was unsure of who exactly she would spend time with, with most of the individuals present being much more advanced in age than her. She decided to approach the individuals she identified as the children of Governor Prendergast and Senator Dayton respectively. She was a bit older than them, but certainly much closer to the two of them than most of the congressional fossils present.

Nate's face betrayed a bit of pain and Amanda lightly squeezed his hand "Its... my home is hurting badly right now... I feel helpless for anything beyond moral support right now.... "

"We're gonna need more alcohol for that," Kim said gravely, throwing back another shot along with Linda, "considering that I'm still pretty sure I could've beaten him in the primary if I'd stayed in."

She shook her head. "The only way this will be funny is if Tim Westra pops out of the lake and reveals he's been Arnold Wolf all along or some other buffoonery. No offense, Jillian."

Across the party, Wyatt wandered over to Prendergast and Volker, his old khaki pants gathering dust as he shuffled. "Tom, Jonah, good to see you," he called, shaking both men's hands warmly.

Jason and Marilyn, meanwhile, hustled over to where Howard and Suzette were talking. "'Scuse us, Senator," Jason said with a mischievous smile, "but did I hear dancing?"

Howard Frankston glanced over at the assemblage of dignitaries, and approached, "Governor, Mr. President," he smiled, "I hear the goal is to relax."

He gestured to the bartender who brought over a tray of shots, "I trust you will do me the honour of some shots."

He looked more at Nate than Tawney, for he knew Tawney better.

Big Party, Frankston Ranch, Texas

Vice President Dietrich arrived in Texas on Air Force Two, separate from the President,, and pulled up to the party accompanied with a small motorcade. He entered the party with as low of a profile as possible, finding himself a drink and a seat. He waited for others to find their way over to him so he could hold court before making his toast.
Image

The House Judiciary Chair, Representative Ibrahim Simpson, arrived at the party. As soon as he entered the crowded space, he kicked himself for making eye contact with Deb Feyrer, feeling obligated to speak to the woman.

Where is the horse gone? Where the warrior?
Where is the treasure-giver? Where are the seats at the feast?
Where are the revels in the hall?
Alas for the bright cup! Alas for the mailed warrior!

Everitt Colbert and his wife flew in from Utah. Apparently anyone who was important in Washington came, and apparently some of them got wild. He had heard many a story of Senators drinking themselves under tables. Everitt didn't know what to expect. He saw the motorcades and surmised that the current President and the next President and one big loser was here. Everitt and his wife went towards the bar, where he heard that a few members of his party were. He found old Kim Dunbar, Augusta Merriam, and someone who would be very important or a big loser.

"Hello, Senators. I hope none of you are driving tonight?"

"Everitt!"

Kim Dunbar was white-girl wasted, as always, and she was a very giggly drunk. Michael shook hands with Colbert and his wife, grimacing wryly. "Sorry about Kim, she can't hold her alcohol at all, and Augusta encourages it."

"And I'm obviously dri-hic-ving," Kim said, "as soon as I can make my dead, shitty legs work!"

Kim cackled, and Mike shook his head. "You nearly died, angel, and here you are...trying to joke about it."

"Hey, I am joking about it."

"Well your jokes are almost as dead and shitty as your legs," Mike smirked, and dodged a thrown stress ball.

Wyatt Hagerty, seeing Everitt arrive, strolled over to the group. "Senators. Everitt," he rasped, giving the younger man a warm embrace, "glad to see you, son."

The Orion Islands wrote:Everitt Colbert and his wife flew in from Utah.
