Is now a good time to tell you there’s no Hughes Amendment in the NSR/NRS?

I guess so, I mean we've got village idiots that we hand out guns to in the hopes of increasing our IQ with a mismanaged flintlock or semiautomatic rocket launcher.
Our general logic when it comes to gun control is 'well if the village idiot blows his head off, that just means there's more smart people who know how to use a gun.' I think we might even hand them out when children are born, but probably not to people in Indiana.

It means there’s a thicc number of gun owners carrying whatever they like. (Assuming they’re not walking around with rocket launchers or anything.) Are they military force? No. They’re the force that makes occupying the NSR/NRS absolutely cancerous.

I feel like the gun behind every blade of grass idea is rather an outdated idea

Now a days a lot of those gun owners would die so fast in any actual combat situation

Its why in the BBR the militia is state run and ant person who owns a weapon that could be labeled as military grade must also be a member of the militia for at least 2 years. Militia being you do training for a weekend once every month and can be called up like the national guard in case of emergency.

Its to make those weapons semi useful in the case of a invasion as the people wielding them have some training and don't just look cool

Lastly, there are tens of millions civilian gun owners residing within the NSR/NRS - able to do so because of the NSR’s loose regulations on firearms ownership: which is a holdover from when the largest state - Texas, was part of the United States. These gun owners, in part due to the changing demographics and political attitudes had to accept a compromise whether they liked it or not: the NSR/NRS would enshrine firearms ownership into national law - never to be revoked or infringed upon in anyway, with few restrictions on open carrying, concealed carry or the types of firearms permitted; but in return, those same gun owners would have to provide proof that their guns were being used on the shooting range monthly, and all first time gun-owners would have to take mandatory courses in firearms safety, mental healthy and overall marksmanship. Furthermore, all guns have to be registered with the state - and no one with a record of indictable offenses or mental illness would be permitted to purchase them.

You’re assuming what I said makes the two groups equal. I never said it did. All that was written implies that the civilians within the NSR/NRS who own firearms tend to have some form of knowledge and training with their guns. Not military training but enough training so that they’re not your stereotypical rednecks who think that owning a pink AR-15 makes them John Wick.

Probably a few hundred thousand

The people who own military grade weapons are just required to be apart of it, otherwise it is voluntary

I mean just to add onto this, the concept of a militia in modern day is likely not very useful. Sure back in the 1600s they were very useful, but in modern day it would be like PMCs against a real military. As seen in a few attempts by Russian PMCs to attack US aligned locations, they get absolutely destroyed because they lack air support.

So unless the militia has anti-aircraft guns, tanks, and artillery, they are screwed against a real military. It would depend on the stance of the invading force, but if they didn't care about civilian casualties, they can easily raze a position where a militia is holding out.

That’s why they the gun owners of the NSR/NRS aren’t in an official militia. I envisage them as being more of an unconventional force - which targets enemy infantry and such. After all, they might not have the advantage technologically or in terms of heavy equipment but it is their territory. They’ll know it better than the average enemy soldier. Plus, cities like Dallas or Houston are much more likely to be worth more left relatively unscathed - of course, that does mean any enemy soldiers would likely be outnumbered and also lacking in heavy firepower: assuming they don’t want to destroy those cities. It’d quite possibly revolve into a Stalingrad-esque urban combat scenario.

What happens then is the issue of training and such. Gun owners can be very well trained, don't get me wrong, I am proud supporter of the second amendment, but if they are that good, in an invasion scenario, why aren't they in the army?

They are more likely to retreat than anything else. My point isn't the technological difference, it is the fact a real army has planes in the air which are capable of dropping precision guided munitions, while a militia has no way of stopping them.

Only reason the insurgent groups are so successful is that the UN cares about the civilians and that the insurgents have caves and bunkers to run to. In a city, you might not have that.

I'm not trying to start a debate or anything, all I am saying is using militia is ineffective, especially on an offensive front.

I never implied they’d be that good, and they wouldn’t be used offensively either. They’re purely for defensive purposes. I just didn’t know where to put the details that I lifted from my app - so I put them under the bracket about extra military info.

Personally I am going to make a separate thing detailing my forces further. I noticed the ships I listed are some I wouldn't use, and I need to put down the descriptions of fighters I use in my airforce.

And that's why, my folks, you'd have a disposable population. Either that, or spend so much on your technology it'd make everyone look like 1440s peasants.

Hey Japan, what do you feel about meeting in Nanjing to discuss about the future of Asia?

I'm impressed w/ Cascadia's technologicals. I'm still reading his post, but I like the part where it's like "Seattle replaced all their asphalt roads w/ Cobblestone."

I've been focusing so much on party politics, but now I might let the Quebecois Parliament get shit done.

Oh boy, that Great Lakes post was so entertaining to read. Especially the part where Emperor Jackson goes on and on about KFC.

Wait.

Does Japan have any oil or natural gas needs? I’m sure we could work something out.

Protip: Tankies =/= all communists.
Here - this is my political orientation, for anyone who wishes to know: https://8values.github.io/results.html?e=75.0&d=45.6&g=60.3&s=81.6

While my sig is mostly jest, and I do not want to harm those who are tankies, let me say this: If you’re the type to talk about “fash” or “bashing the fash” yet refuse to criticise the crimes of Stalin, Pol Pot and Mao, then you need to take a long, hard fucking look at yourself. Because you ARE the thing you want to “bash”, even if you dress it up in a different skin.

All that racial tension in the Greatlakes, I'm surprised all the Blacks didn't flood into Quebec.
